She was born in Cayuga, IN on September 14, 1927 the daughter of Orville and Susan (Ellis) Boyd. Charlotte married Rose Adams and had one daughter Marsha. Both preceded her in death.She later married Gilbert Montgerard on June 24, 1955 and he also preceded her in death.
Charlotte will be deeply missed by her children; Sharon, Buddy (Caroline), Larry (Debi), Chris (Kervin), Tanya (Gene) and Lori (LaVonya), grandchildren; Shawn, Mark (Shawn), Wanda (Luke), Shannon (Todd), Tiffany, Lance (Lynn), Leisha, Chastity (Chris), Charity (Terry), Scott (Kristin), Chad (Kelsey), Andrew (Rebecca) and Marcie (Todd), several great and great grandchildren.
Charlotte loved to go camping, spend time with her grandkids and attending their events. She enjoyed watching birds, getting together with family, collecting light houses and wearing holiday sweaters.

Obituary Preview: Mary Ellen Edwards, 89, of Danville passed away on Monday, November 19, 2018 at Hawthorne Inn. She was born the daughter of Raymond Turner and Wilma Thompson Turner on June 22, 1929. They precede her in death.
Mary was married to Robert Edwards for 68 years until his passing in 2015.
Surviving Mary include one son, Thomas (Vickie) Edwards of Danville; two grandchildren, Craig (Shelly) Edwards of Oakwood and Kim (Vince) Savage of Danville; five great grandchildren, Sadie Edwards, Tyler Knight, Abbie Knight, Andy Savage, and Thomas Savage; and one brother, Jim (Muriel) Turner of Logansport, IN.
Mary worked for most of her life. She was a member in the Christian Women’s Association as well as in the Vermilion County Society of Churches of Christ. She was also a member of Old Union Church of Christ and Crossroads Christian Church. Mary was co-owner of Myles Young Food Brokers. After retirement she was church secretary for 19 years. During her free time, she loved reading, watching the Hallmark channel, and spending time with family. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mary was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will be missed dearly by her family and the people that loved her.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, November 23, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville. Officiating will be Pastor Drew Mentzer. Burial will be in Johnson Cemetery in Danville. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Women’s Care Clinic at 200 West Williams St. in Danville or Her House Ministry at 317 N Franklin St. in Danville.

Larry loved his family, friend and church. He was an active member at Faith Baptist Church and was a graduate of Midwest Bible College, a ministry of Faith Baptist church. He retired from General Motors. His most recent hobbies included watching the cubs playing, guitar, a little golf, arguing politics on Facebook and spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren
He was a very happy man, full of life with his heart wide open to anyone he encountered. He was very much loved by all and will be greatly missed.
He was proceeded in death by Margo Elizabeth Decker, Betty Howie , son Larry Lee Decker Jr, granddaughter, Lacy Marie Fox Nelson.

Dick was born on September 5, 1937 in Lineville, IA the son of Earl Dean and Noreen Avis (Gooden) Shockey. He married Jane Ellen Sponsler August 14, 1965 in Leon, IA and she survives.
Survivors include his wife, Jane Ellen Shockey of Danville, IL; one son, Rhett (Meara) Shockey of O’Fallon, IL; one brother, Rick Shockey of Bradenton, FL; one sister, Patty Oliver of Osceola, IA; two granddaughters, Rowan and Arden Shockey of O’Fallon, IL and many extended family and special friends.
Dick is preceded in death by his parents.
Dick was a Graduate of Northeast Missouri State College, now Truman State, and received his Masters and Specialized education from Drake University. He was a member of St Paul’s Catholic Church, the Danville Boat Club, served on the Civic Center Board, and was the Director of the NJCAA Basketball Tournament for many years. Dick was Vice President of Administration and Finance at DACC from 1989 – 2005 and CEO of Lakeview College of Nursing from 2004 -2013.

Obituary Preview: Bismarck – Lyle Ray Milner, 82, of Bismarck, IL passed away at 8:45 AM on Thursday November 15, 2018 at OSF Hospital in Danville, IL. Lyle was born in Henning, IL on July 5, 1936 the son of Floyd and Ferne (Horine) Milner. He was united in marriage to Carol Gater on August 29, 1964 in Danville, IL. She survives.
He will be missed by his wife, Carol Milner, his two daughters, Julie Miller and Susan (Eric) Cox, his son, Greg (Stephanie) Milner, his brother, John Milner, six grandchildren, Dylan and Keith Miller, Megan and Lauren Cox, Brook and Brittany Milner, his nieces Kathy Zehr, Debbie (Tom) Simmons and Shari (Grant) Wegner as well as several great nieces and nephews.
Lyle was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Patricia Zehr, brother-in-law, Bill Zehr, sister-in-law, Dee Milner and niece Vicki Milner. Lyle and Carol enjoyed going to the Royal Donut for coffee and visiting with the employees. He enjoyed reading, working crossword and jigsaw puzzles, making his yard beautiful and spending time with his grandchildren and attending their various activities. He enjoyed ballroom dancing with his wife Carol and baking the best Christmas Treats ever!
Lyle’s first real job, at 18, was a telegraph operator for the railroad in Chicago, IL, he worked for a short time at Caterpillar in Aurora, IL and then at Hyster in Danville, IL for 37 years. He participated on the Activity Committee during his time at Hyster and planned activities for the Hyster employees. Lyle was also an active member of the Bismarck community. He helped lay the groundwork for the Bismarck Park, was a Scout Leader, Volunteer Fireman, and a school board member. He helped Bismarck Township serving at the clerk, was a devoted Lions Club member for over 50 years where he served as the Secretary and Treasurer for several years. He was also Treasurer of the Bismarck United Methodist Church for 25 years. After retirement from Hyster in 1998, Lyle drove a school bus for 8 years.
A Celebration of Life on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion Street, Danville, with Pastor Chris Quick officiating. Greg is preceded in death by his father, Ralph Shepherd.
Greg worked at Danville Metal Stamping as a Machinist for many years. He once served as the President of the Holiday Hills Neighborhood Association, actively engaged in local council meetings, and played on several Billiards Pool Leagues. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and playing guitar/harmonica with friends. His daughter, Autumn’s fondest memory is singing at area nursing homes as he would play guitar for the residents. Greg’s son, Daniel most fondly remembers the nights spent hanging at his dad’s house with friend, Jason Shank, who Greg also loved dearly.

Dorothy was born in 1923 to Lon and Lillian (Cox) Thompson in Shreveport, LA. She married Lowell Heidrick Loving on November 7, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband (2006) and her parents, two brothers, Glen and Paul, and a sister, Virginia Suhajda.
She is survived by her son, Kenneth (Carolyn) Loving of Marion, Il. and daughter Kathy (Arthur deceased) Wolfinbarger; three grandchildren Joyce (Jon) Bruett, Ryan (Annette) Wolfinbarger, and Kristen (A.J. Brewer) Wolfinbarger; and five great grandchildren, Hannah, Ella, August, Isabelle and William. She is also survived by her special friends, Margaret Murphy and Mary Kay Ahrens.
Dorothy enjoyed reading and going out with her Saturday Arby girls.
Dorothy was an active member of First Presbyterian Church. Dorothy worked for L. H. Loving and Associates from the beginning of its formation in billing and also provided moral support and served food from “Dorothy’s Diner” as needed. Dorothy was also a girl scout leader for three years and on the YWCA Board of Directors for eight years.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Thompson of Westville; two sons, Ronald Thompson of South Carolina and Timothy (Leslea) Thompson of Georgetown, one sister, Luella Hennette of Westville; one daughter-in-law, Lynda Thompson of Georgetown, seven grandchildren: Mike Thompson of Georgetown, Justin Thompson of Fithian, Aaron Thompson of Denver, CO, Amy Thompson of South Carolina, Danielle Thompson of South Carolina, Amanda (Dustin) Cockrell of Westville and Hannah Thompson of Georgetown as well as eight great-grandchildren, Anna Marie Thompson, Jenna Lee Thompson, Ethan Thompson, Wyatt Thompson, Leilani Thompson, Alex Thompson, Olivia Cockrell and Hayden Crim.
Buddy is preceded in death by his parents, one son; Doyle Thompson, three brothers, Elmer, Raymond and Willie Thompson and one sister, Marie Jones.
Buddy graduated from Rossville High School and served his country in the United States Army. Buddy retired from Lauhoff in 1996 where he worked as a Sheetmetal Fabricator. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and a 32nd Degree Mason with the Catlin Masonic Lodge. Buddy was an avid St. Louis Cardinals Fan, enjoyed working in his yard, playing catch and Euchre, spending time with his family and friends and loved his grandchildren dearly.

Obituary Preview: Virginia Varns passed away on November 8th at the age of 88. She was with her son Richard Varns, granddaughter Rachel Varns and grandson Jordan Varns at the time of her death.
She was born August 5,1930 in Deerfield, South Dakota to Roy and Louise Solomon. Virginia married Harvey D. Varns on June 19th 1954 and was with him until his passing on April 1st 2015. Harvey and Virginia have 8 wonderful children together and raised them well.
Virginia loved the Lord and ensured her children knew of His Love, Grace and Mercies. Through good times and bad, Virginia was the best wife and mother anyone could ask for, she was patient, kind, caring and always quick to comfort others in their time of need.
Virginia was proceeded in death by her mother Louise Solomon, Father Roy Solomon, sisters, Evelyn and Margaret Solomon, Sister Betty Varns, and Brother Albert Solomon, husband Harvey Varns and her son Kenneth Varns.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Debra and Monty Colvin, Barbra and Doug Hitzel, Penny and Roy Mixon, Ginny and Chuck O’Brien, Don and Adriana Varns, Ron Varns, Richard and Julie Varns and Earleen Varns-McNare and Linda and Shirley Dickey as well as 26 grandchildren.
Virginia lived with her son Richard Varns and his wife Julie Varns since the passing of her husband Harvey in 2015. Julie loved and cared for Virginia during the last three years of her life and Virginia was a blessing to that household. Julie and Rachel cared and comforted Virginia and never left her side in her last days, Virginia referred to them as two of her greatest blessings in life and ensured they knew it to her last day.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one brother, Gene Estock.
She is survived by three children: Merv Jr. (Vicki) Johnson of Oakwood, Ronald (Cathy) Johnson of Danville, and Rhonda (Gary) Tyrl of Danville; siblings: Jerry Estock of Bullard, TX, Nancy Pollock of Oakwood, and Darlene (Wayne) Pankow of Fairmount; grandchildren: Cheri Silha of Oakwood, Chris (Holly) Johnson of Round Rock, TX, Amy (Tye) Pasquale of Bismarck, Eric (Lindsey) Johnson, and Gary Tyrl, both of Danville; and step grandchildren: Karen McGuire of Danville, and Cindy (Erick) Parker of Tennessee; great grandchildren: Alex Silha of Oakwood, Peri, Elliot and Quinn Johnson all of Round Rock, TX, Emma Pasquale of Bismarck, and Madalyn Garriot, Sophie, Kyler and Evie Johnson all of Danville; and step great grandchildren: Gage and Logan McGuire of Danville, and Corwin Parker all of Tennessee; and many nieces and nephews.
Marilyn had a love for many things including cookbooks, hummingbirds, and collecting salt and pepper shakers. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She is now together again with Dad but will be missed dearly by her family and the people that loved her.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Colonial Manor and their staff. They have been wonderful throughout Marilyn’s stay with them.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 12, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N Vermilion St in Danville. On Tuesday, November 13, 2018 visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Service at 11:00 a.m. at the Central Christian Church, 1101 N Vermilion St in Danville. Officiating will be Pastor Patti Wise. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Heart Association.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Shirley Harris; two daughters, Sharon (Ron) Neufeld of Danville, IL and Phyllis (Shane) Farris of Danville, IL; sisters, Ruby Allen of Anderson, IN, Martha Foster of Catlin, IL., and Rose Abrams of Grove City, Ohio; sister-in-law, Kay Harris of Bradenton, FL; grandchildren, Lisa Palinski, Justin (Marina) Neufeld, Joshua (Liz) Farris, and Jarrod Farris; and great grandchildren, Ethan Neufeld, Bella Neufeld, and Fletcher Farris.
John was an active member of the Danville First Church of the Nazarene. He worked as a milk man for over 40 years. He worked for Bordens, Prairie Farms, and Ryder’s. He loved his church and his family. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He will be missed dearly by the people that knew him.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Valerie, John’s hospice nurse.

Obituary Preview: Raymond Dean Weidenburner, 57, of Chatham passed away at 1:37pm on Wednesday November 7, 2018 in Springfield. He was born in Danville as the son of Robert and Nancy Weidenburner. Early in Ray’s life he met and married Sherry Weidenburner from this marriage they had two children and spent a total of twenty-three years together. Ray later began dating Debbie Boos-Wilger who has been with him for over the last five years, they survive.
Suriving Ray are his son, Skyler Weidenburner, daughter, Marlena (Noah) Freund, mother, Nancy Weidenburner; brothers, Robert (Penny) Weidenburner, Michael (Sheri) Weidenburner, Rodney Weidenburner; sisters, Kathy (Greg) Pulley, Maggie (David) Haase; grandchildren, Angelynn Freund, Isabella Rhoden, Sophia Rhoden, Charlie Freund, Gabriel Freund; several nieces and nephews; and Janelle and Corinne Wilger, who for the last five years have been like daughters to Ray.
Ray is preceded in death by his father Robert.
Ray graduated from Danville High School in 1979. He then received a bachelor’s degree in medical technology from Eastern Illinois University, did a clinical rotation at Loyola University, and later received a Master of Business Administration. Since 2009 Ray has been a Lab Director for the state of Illinois. He was a very creative man and truly enjoyed painting, traveling, and early in adult life, playing the guitar. If given the opportunity he would have spent the rest of his days in a hammock on the beach and although he lived a busy life he adored his family and would do anything for them. He was greatly loved and will be sorely missed.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 4pm on Monday, November 12, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville. Officiating will be pastor Miles Clark. Visitation will be held from 1pm to 4pm prior to the service at the funeral home.

John W. Sullivan - May 21, 1923 - November 06, 2018

Obituary Preview: John W. Sullivan, age 95, died on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 in the OSF hospital in Danville, Illinois. From his birth in Danville on May 21, 1923 to his death he nourished the people around him with love, faith and humor. John was the oldest son of 5 children born to Aaron and Ethel (Veirs) Sullivan and served in the US Navy from 1942-1945 on a PT boat. As Gunner's Mate 3rd Class, he was assigned to PT-107 based in the Solomon Islands. He was never sick, never missed a patrol, and was in action the night JFK's PT-109 was destroyed. This experience as “the Kid” on a small boat in a wide world shaped his whole life. He married Doris Mae Gouty after the war and they had three children. Working as a boilermaker on the C&EI Railroad first and the Southern Pacific after he moved his family to California in 1965. They lived there happily for twenty years, moving back to Danville with Doris for their retirement. She passed away in 2015 and he’s been looking forward to joining her ever since. John was an avid gardener and loved to share his produce and stories with his many friends, neighbors and relatives. He always had a joke ready and was interested in hearing everyone’s stories and ideas. He’s survived by his three children, Nancy Sullivan, Jim Sullivan and Gail O’Sullivan

Obituary Preview: Louis E. Roberts “Buckwheat” went home to the Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday, November 04, 2018. He passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by loved ones. He was born on October 28, 1935 the son of Louis E. Roberts and Elsie Cox Willis. They precede him in death.
Also preceding him in death include his step-father, Claude Willis; brothers, Ray Kennedy and Francis “Stubb” Kennedy; sister, Elsie Lou Stevens; close family friends, Jack and Betty Watson and his beloved wife Barbara Ann Roberts.
He is survived by his three children, Paula (Tim) Ryan, Kyle (Pam) Roberts, Kevin (Chris) Roberts; five grandchildren, Rachel (Jason) Vernia, Justin (Gabby) Roberts, Cassie (Levi Knight) Roberts, Kelsey Roberts, and Jordan Roberts; and two great-grandchildren, Reilly Greene and Gracelynn Rose Vernia.
In his 83 years, Louis devoted his life to the Lord, his wife, family, and hobbies. He served his community of Danville as an auxiliary police officer, a member of The Shriner’s, a Master Mason of Anchor Lodge 980, and a 32nd Degree Mason of The Scottish Rite. Louis made a career on the railroad and carried his love of trains throughout life. He spent 55 years married to the love of his life, Barbara Ann. Together they spent their lifetime building a beautiful life raising their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, all while being active members at the Second Church of Christ. Louis loved being outside in his garden, mowing the lawn, splitting wood, and playing with his grand-dogs. He loved spending time with his grandkids, babysitting Gracelynn, and telling them stories of his childhood. He always made time for his family and was at every major life event; from marriages to soccer games. Some of his favorite pastimes were watching old westerns, going to Wendy’s with his church group, telling jokes, and spending time with his family. Buckwheat loved cooking, baking, and canning fresh vegetables. He enjoyed beef and noodles, snacking, and making tomato sauce.
Louis leaves behind a legacy full of life lessons, cherished memories, and unconditional love.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 07, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville. Officiating will be Pastor Drew Mentzer. Burial will be in Springhill Cemetery in Danville. Visitation will be held just prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Second Church of Christ.

Robert L. Marsh Jr. - June 13, 1927 - November 04, 2018

He was born on June 13, 1927 in Danville, IL, the son of Robert and Katherine Marsh Sr. On August 21, 1949 Bob married the love of his life Edith M. Jones and the spent the next 37 years together before her passing.
Bob is survived by his daughter, Chrystal F. Graham of Seymour, TN, son, Robert L. (Mike) Marsh III of Knoxville, TN, brother Thomas L. Marsh of Danville; sisters, Martha (Joan) Stines of Catlin, Marian Dickerson of Barstow, CA; grandchildren Jared Marsh of Oakhurst, CA and Patricia L. Wilbanks of Spokane, WA. As well as many loved nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Edie; brothers, James (Jim) Yow, William (Bill) Yow; aunts Florence (Polly) Weibaut, Zelma King, Edith Ham, great-grandmother Delta Isaac Crow and son-in-law, Donald (Don) E. Wilbanks.
Bob graduated from Westville High School in 1945 before attending Southern California College where he received a bachelor’s degree in social science. Later he obtained a Master of Science degree from Eastern Illinois University where he was also in the process of receiving his Phd. Bob was a veteran of the United States Navy where he was a part of the maiden voyage of the USS Saidor. He was a member of the American Legion and a lifelong member of the VFW. Bob was ordained with the Assembly of God Church as well as a chaplain for Carle Foundation Hospice. He worked with Harsh Investment Corporation and later taught 4th in Westville for 9 years before moving to Crystal Lake, IL, where he was a private school administrator. He was also a school administrator in Barstow, CA and Chalmette, LA and one of the first at Judah Christian School in Champaign. He also taught at Votec opening year. Bob enjoyed gardening, was an excellent carpenter and his one goal in life was to positively affect at least one person through God’s Grace or the help of God’s love.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11am on Saturday November 10, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville. Officiating will be Rev. Ryan Harris. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. Visitation will be held from 9am to 11am prior to the service at the funeral home.

Buford was proud to serve his country in the United State Air Force, serving for 24 years in South Korea, Vietnam & Holland. He then became a cab driver for 25 years in the Rantoul area. He enjoyed bowling and playing cards. Buford loved spending time with his family.

She was united in marriage to Arthur Nelson in 1970, he proceeded her in death.
She will be dearly missed by son, Dennis (Jean) Hembrey; grandchildren, Jon (Laurie) Hembrey & Margot (Jason) Mantle; 5 great grandchildren. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Ralph Sawyer, Harold Sawyer, Eleanor McFall, Ruth Behrens, Grace Warner, Altia Van Cleave & Alma Beck.
Dorothy worked in the commissary at Chanute Air Force Base in her 20’s. She was an artist at heart, oil painting and pottery work, even had her own kiln for a time. She worked at the Danville History Museum, judged Art Contests for the Hoopeston Sweet Corn Festival, Arthur owned the Lorraine Theater in Hoopeston for years.

He was born February 22, 1932 in Greenfield, Illinois, the eldest son of George Allen and Mabel (Kinser) Cole. Raised on a farm near Palmyra in Macoupin County, Illinois he walked, sometimes barefoot, to a one-room country school through the eighth grade. After graduation from Greenfield High School he earned a degree in agriculture from the University of Illinois. He married the former Shirley Wheeler of Springfield on June 14, 1953, and then served in the army near Toul, France. His sixty-year farm management career began with Doane Agricultural Service in Jerseyville, Illinois; then continued in Danville with Second National Bank, First Midwest Bank, and Cole Farm Management.
A fifty-five year member of the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers, he served as president of the Illinois Society of Professional Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers. Volunteer activities include service on the boards of the Boy Scouts, United Way, YMCA, Soil and Water Conservation District, and in many capacities at Ridgeview Baptist Church where he was a member since moving his young family to Danville in 1961.
Surviving are his wife, Shirley; children Steven and Timothy Cole of Danville, and Margaret (Jeffery) Sexton of Kokomo, Indiana; grandchildren Stephanie Proietti, Fawn Williams, Samuel (Elizabeth), Benjamin (Teresa), Matthew, Mark, Bryan, and Owen Cole and Joshua and Luke (Sebastian) Sexton; great-grandchildren Gabriel Jiles, Ethan Stevenson, Isaiah Jensen, Malia Williams, Edward Brock, and Mia, Amelia, Iris, Evan, Hazel, Gabriella, Josiah, Annabelle, and Broden Cole; and his brothers Gale (Joy) Cole of Palmyra and Kendall (Charlot) Cole of Virden.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Nancy Vial St. John.
Visitation will be 5 to 7pm Thursday at Ridgeview Baptist Church, 3838 N. Vermilion, Danville, Illinois and 10 to 11am Friday. A Celebration of Life will be at 11am Friday at the church with Pastor Mark Keyser Officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery in Danville, Illinois. Memorials may be placed to Ridgeview Baptist Church or the Vermilion County 4-H.

Survivors include son, Eric Beavers; step-son, Edward (Brandilyn) Beavers; daughter, Mary (Richard) Weber; brothers, Larry Odeneal and William “Billy” Odeneal; sister, Shirley Woolwine; grandchildren, Amiee Thomas, Andrew weber, April Harris, Kody Devylder, Kaitlyn Beavers, Kaitlyn Schuette, and Kristopher Beavers; and many great grandchildren.
Kathleen was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She especially loved riding her Harley with her husband, William “Midnight,” until he passed in 2012. She mourned his death every day for the past 6 years. She is now with him and can continue their ride together. She will be missed dearly by her family.
The family will hold a Memorial Service at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at The Vinyard Church in Danville. Visitation will be just prior to the service from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at the church. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion St. Danville, IL has been entrusted with arrangements. Per Kathleen’s wishes cremation rites have been accorded.

Marlene enjoyed the outdoors, pool and beach. She loved spending time with her family. She served in the US NAVY where she met her deceased husband Ross Dean. She enjoyed her time spent with her church family at Murdoch Christian Church while at her winter home and Second Church in Danville Il.
Marlene never missed a swim meet, wrestling match, baseball or football game with her children, grandchildren or great grandchildren.
Her greatest pleasure while home was watching her Soap Operas, she watched them all and loved every minute of them.
Marlene was a machine operator at TEEPAK in Danville for 28 years before her retirement.
She is survived by her husband John D Wright of Danville and Port Charlotte.
She is also survived by her son Michael Dean (Teresa) of Hoopeston IL, Bruce Dean (Chris) of Chesapeake VA and Daughter Lori Dean (Brad Homuth) of Naples FL. Bonus Sons Greg Wright (Nancy) of Veederburg IN, Jeff Wright (Bonnie) of Covington IN, and Brad Wright of St Louis MO
She is also survived by her sisters Janice (Wally) Peabody of Houlton ME and Sun City FL, Mary (Wayne) Hughes of Houlton ME and Sun City FL and brother Arville Porter (Ruth) of Houlton ME and Zephyrhills FL.
Marlene had 17 Grandchildren and numerous Great grandchildren.
Marlene was proceeded in death by her husband Ross Dean, Son Larry Dean and her Parents Montford Hill, Mildred and James Porter.

Jerry will be deeply missed by his wife, Susan of Danville; two sons, Chad Grimes of Palatine, IL and Ryan (Kyleigh) Grimes of Edwardsville, IL; one daughter, Amber (Jacob) Tutwiler of Danville and two grandchildren, Ethan Leonard Tutwiler and Ella Jane Tutwiler of Danville, as well as a host of special friends.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Blanche Maggio.
Jerry was a diver, serving his country in the United States Navy, and later served in the Naval Reserves. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Eastern Illinois University. Jerry was a firefighter with the Danville Fire Department, with 22 years of service to his community. After his retirement from the Danville Fire Department, Jerry worked at Bud’s Cellular, Kirchner Building Center and H&R Block. Jerry was a member of Ridgeview Baptist Church. He enjoyed taking vacations and traveling with his wife and family. He especially loved golfing and spending time with his family and friends. When his children were young, he coached a variety of his children’s sports. Papaw Jerry loved taking his grandson, Ethan, to the movies and playing board games with his granddaughter, Ella.
A Celebration of Life on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 10:30 AM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion Street, Danville, with Pastor Mark Keyser officiating. Entombment will be in Sunset Memorial Park with Military Rites accorded by American Legion Post 210. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 2, 2018 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Obituary Preview: JoAnn Bohn Fritsch, of Danville, passed away at Hawthorne Inn on October 22, 2018. JoAnn was the daughter of Carl and Thelma (Fulton) Bohn born on May 7, 1930, in Danville. JoAnn married the love of her life John (Jack) Fritsch on October 2, 1948, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Danville.
Surviving JoAnn is her daughter, Beverly Ledwon of Indianapolis; three grandchildren: Amanda (Bruce) Rutland of Jacksonville, NC, Kristy Jimson and Katari Jimson both of Danville; six great-grandchildren: Alexus Jimson-Miller of Muncie, IN, Ethan Jimson, Phoenix Jimson and Teppo Enos of Danville, Andrew Rutland of Jacksonville, NC, and Alexis Rutland of Auburn, AL; one son-in-law Martin Jimson and one brother-in-law Gene Fritsch both of Danville.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents, sister Beverly Jane, husband, and daughter Pamela Jimson.
JoAnn attended Cannon Grade School and graduated from Danville High. She remained in contact with fellow alumni by serving on various alumni reunion committees and attending monthly luncheons. She spent many creative years as a housewife and mother. She sewed or knitted most of their clothes and crafted decor. When the daughters were teenagers, she started working at Sears part-time teaching dressmaking and knitting. She even attended Danville Junior College (now Danville Area Community College) receiving a certificate in fashion design. She became full time selling sewing machines and vacuums then added major appliances. Many times, she was awarded top sales for the quarter.
After 15 years at Sears, she became a master gardener, even testing new roses for a mail order nursery. She belonged to garden and herb clubs. When not gardening she was knitting, crocheting, and quilting enough items to fill her house and her family’s as well. She belonged to multiple knitting and quilting clubs. She and Jack were members of the Vermilion County Historical Society and attended activities at the Latham House.
JoAnn was a very social person making new friends through-out her life. The Boat Club was one place she and Jack spent many happy hours dancing and enjoying life. They spent their retired years traveling with friends. She even made two new friends in her last days at Hawthorne Inn. They spent meals together laughing and teasing each other.
JoAnn and Jack began their life together on October 02, 1948, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Danville where they remained life long active members from Couples Club, to PTA, to Eunice Society, and more. She was among the first group of Room Mothers to work in the Trinity Lutheran School’s newly created hot lunch program in the late 1950s.
