Obituary Preview: Mancy C. Herring Jr. was born to Mancy and Daisy Council-Herring on April 27, 1932. Mancy transitioned from labor to eternal rest on July 10, 2021 at the age of 89, at home in Milton, New York. Mancy entered marriage to Mildred McLean on March 21, 1953. The union produced four children: James Coleman Herring (deceased), Aubrey Lee Herring, Annie Christine Herring-Wellington (Rudolph), Lorena Neal (Craig). Junior, as he was affectionately known, migrated from Garland, NC to Milton, NY in 1952 where he worked for Glenn Clarke Sr. on the Clarke Farm. He was the Foreman of the farm for many years and continued after the farm was sold and renamed to Crist Brothers Farm. In later years after his retirement he worked briefly for Jim Lapolla Excavating in Milton, NY. Junior enjoyed working out in the yard and talking to his garden. Junior was known to be a helpful and always willing to lend a hand neighbor. He was also good for telling stories from the old days, which Mil would say he's in there telling stories! He loved spending time with family and friends sitting around on the back porch. He loved to restore old cars and could talk about them all day. He loved to solve mechanical problems. If he wasn't talking with friends he would be watching Westerns!! Junior was a real fan of ME TV. And if we didn't like that, then he would be watching CNN and talking politics! Calling his children talking about did you see Jo?! And the best quality of all was his wonderful sense of humor. Boy would he make you laugh and even cry!! Junior had a lifelong love of music, singing, and guitar playing, and would frequently set up his audio equipment so he could play and sing with the family. He loved the old blues songs! Junior leaves to cherish his memories and all his teaching; his loving and devoted wife, Mildred; children: Aubrey Lee Herring of Highland, NY, Annie Christine Herring-Wellington (Rudolph) of Kingston, NY, and Lorena Neal (Craig) of Marlboro, NY; seven grandchildren: Shawn Leron Boone (Nicole) of Indianapolis, IN, Tasha Herring of Fishkill, NY, Aubrey Lee Herring II of Orlando, FL, Lashanda Renee Herring of Milton, NY, Aleesha Lee Herring of Lumberton, NC, Allyxzander Le'Jon Herring of Durham, NC, Andrew Coleman Wellington of Kingston, NY; 12 great-grandchildren: Nyree Nicole Mont, Tyrese James-Jordan Mont, Amiyah Nicole Boone, Shawn LeRon Boone Jr., Elaeleh Genia Herring, Trystan Izayah Herring-McIntyre, Amari Nishay Boone, A'sana Catalia Chrystina Wellington, Ayden Omari Herring, Taj Elijah Herring-McIntyre, Austin Orion Herring, Andrew Coleman Wellington Jr., and one great great-grandchild, Naylani Joice Amos-Dixon; and a host of nieces and nephews who called him their second dad; daughter-in-law, Sharon Bonita Herring and Teresa Hilson McGue; foster daughters, Harriet Fitch, Cynthia Rodriguez; and a host of honorary grandchildren that he claimed throughout the years. Shirley transitioned from labor to eternal rest on May 10th, 2021 at the age of 77, at home in Newburgh, NY. She is the fifth of seven children and preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Jeannie B. Johnson, and Margaret L. Richardson, and one grandchild, Jesse C. Dunham III. Shirley entered marriage to Jesse C. Dunham Sr. May 13, 1967 and made Newburgh NY their home for over fifty years, where they had three loving and gorgeous children, Lenora V. Woodson, Barbara A. Dunham-Anckle (Randolph), and Jesse C. Dunham Jr. (Kimberly). She was employed at Penny Bags for several years and later employed by IBM until she retired. She was an active member of the church, she spent countless hours volunteering at several food and clothing pantries at Ebenezer Baptist Church, Life Restoration, and New Hope Baptist. She was a member of Club Sixty and the Sunshine Adult Day Care Center. Shirley enjoyed traveling, bowling, shopping, fishing, and 'photography'. 'To the world you are our Mother, but to our family you are the world.' Shirley leaves to cherish her memory a loving husband, Jesse C. Dunham Sr.; two daughters, Lenora V. Woodson, and Barbara A. Dunham-Anckle (Randolph), one son, Jesse C. Dunham Jr. (Kimberly), and one Godson, John M. Lacy; three brothers: Roby L. Hill, James E. Hill (Linda), and Michael D. Hill (Adriane); one sister, Sadie C. Hill; six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews,brothers and sisters-in law.
