Obituary Preview: Nan Ellen (Lantz) Geuy, age 87, of Urbana, formerly of Rosewood, passed away Tuesday afternoon, January 10, 2023, at Springfield Regional Medical Center.
Nan was born September 3, 1935, in Urbana, the daughter of Shirley Tritt Lantz and Claire Lucas Tappy.  She graduated from Johnson-St. Paris High School in 1953 and attended Bliss Business College in Columbus, Ohio.  Nan worked several years with Brand, Wagner and Maurice, Attorneys at Law, and specifically for John Newlin.  Her work life continued at Grimes Manufacturing/Honeywell, from which she retired.  Nan also voluntarily served as a financial secretary for the Rosewood United Methodist Church.
Nan served as a 4-H Advisor for the Stitch By Stitch 4-H Club for many years, teaching many young people the art of sewing.  She enjoyed numerous arts and craft endeavors, including cross-stitch, crocheting, knitting, sewing – creating many of the outfits her daughters wore in their youth.  She was well-known for knitting or crocheting baby blankets for family and friends.
Nan is survived by her children, Patricia (David) Richards, Susan (David) Bonas, Rebecca (Thomas) Stredny, Daniel Geuy, Christopher Geuy, twelve grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.  Nan was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Wallace Lynn Geuy, sister, Shirley Pence, and brother, Neil K. Lantz.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at Urbana Mercy Memorial Hospital and Springfield Regional Medical Center for their excellent care, compassion and professionalism.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 1-5pm on Sunday, January 15, 2023 in ATKINS-SHIVELY FUNERAL HOME, St Paris, Ohio. Eastern Star service provided by Caroline Chapter #39 will begin at 5 p.m.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Monday, January 16, 2023 in the funeral home with Pastor Ray Branstiter officiating.
Burial will follow in Rosedale Cemetery, St. Paris, Ohio.

Obituary Preview: Annie (Birong Liu) Faulkner, age 69, of St. Paris, Ohio passed away in Hospice of Dayton on December 28, 2022 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born on April 7, 1953 in Chengdu, China, Annie was a daughter of the late QiShou Liu and YunFang Zheng. She became an American citizen in August 2010.
She married Marvin R. Faulkner on January 26, 2007 and he survives in St. Paris.  She is survived by her daughter, Sally Han and her husband Anson Xu of China, two granddaughters, Sara Liang and Sandra Xu, two sisters, a sister-in-law, Nancy (Jim) Virts of Mechanicsburg, brother-in-law, Bob (Roxanne) Faulkner of St. Paris and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, a sister preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in the Atkins-Shively Funeral Home, 216 S. Springfield Street, St. Paris, Ohio with Kermit Wilson presiding.  There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday in the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Spring Grove Cemetery, N. Heck Hill Road, St Paris, OH.

Obituary Preview: Nancy Halterman, age 85, of Saint Paris, Ohio passed away on Friday, December 16, 2022 in Springfield Regional Medical Center, Springfield Ohio. Born on July 27, 1937, Nancy was a daughter of the late Kent and Dorothy (Griffith) Atha.
Nancy married Dale R. Halterman on July 24, 1960, and he preceded her in death on December 10, 2019. Nancy’s children include Brenda and Rev. Thomas Shaw of Tacoma, WA and Dr. Richard and Elena Halterman of Boulder, CO. Three grandchildren, Hope Shaw of Tacoma, WA and Siena and Luca Halterman of Boulder, CO, also survive her. In addition to her parents and husband, her sister, Pat Williams, preceded her in death. Nancy was a graduate of West Liberty High School and a member of the Urbana Church of the Nazarene. She was filled with a compassionate maternal spirit, humor, humility, and a strong work ethic. As a young adult, she worked at an orphanage in inner city Washington DC. She volunteered her service in schools, church, and nursing homes. She dedicated herself to raising her own family, and then later, to lending her time and guidance to many children in her neighborhood. She was a spirited Buckeye football, Duke basketball, and Cincinnati sports fan. She impacted many lives, and she will be greatly missed
A Celebration of Life and reception will be held from 11am-2pm on January 21 at The Woodruff Farm, 3143 E US Rt 36, Urbana, Ohio 43078.

Born on September 16, 1934 in Springfield, Ohio, Richard was a son of the late Thomas and Mavilla (Baker) Ervin. Richard was a proud Veteran who served in the Korean War from 1951-1953. He was a corporal in the Army, as part of the 15th AAA Battalion, 7th Infantry Division and served his country with honor.
Richard is survived by his devoted wife, Janice, and three children, Michael L. Ervin of Lakeworth, Texas, Bonnie Ballenger of Urbana, Ohio and Brenda (Greg) Graham of Luckey, Ohio, five grandchildren, Shannon Ervin, Brittany Ballenger, Cody Ballenger, Nicholas Graham and Megan Graham, and four great grandchildren. Also, still surviving is a sister Nancy (Albert) Minton of Christiansburg, Ohio, Bob Ervin of Port Jefferson, Ohio and Lloyd (Jeanne) Ervin of Troy, Ohio.  Richard is also is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, his sister, Elizabeth Wilson and two brothers, Donald and Roger Ervin, and an infant sister, Ruby preceded him in death.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family.

She was born on December 30, 1952 in Springfield, Ohio to the late Clarence and Geraldine (Potter) Bailey.
Carol married Gerald Ennis Sr. on March 13, 1983 and he preceded her in death on October 31, 2014. She is survived by five children; Nicole McWilliams of Urbana, Crystal (Justin) Massie of Sidney, Jerri (Travis) Cupps of St. Paris, Gerald (Lynsey) Ennis, Jr of New Carlisle, Catrina Ennis of Piqua, eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.  Two sisters, Joyce Whittington of Ware Shoals, S.C and Rachel McFarland of South Salem, OH and several nieces and nephews, also survive her.
In addition to her parents, two great grandchildren, Everett Beasley and Rosalena Cupps, preceded her in death. A graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family in the Evergreen Cemetery, St. Paris, Ohio

Obituary Preview: Jody Neff Scott, age 65, of Springfield, OH passed away at 1:48 a.m. on Friday, November 25, 2022 in Springfield Regional Hospital.
Born on December 13, 1956 in Springfield, Jody was a daughter of the late Jack and Roberta (Entler) Neff.
She married the love of her life, Dale Scott on December 17, 1994 and he preceded her in death on April 18, 2019.
Jody is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law:  Carol and Ralph Foster and Becky and Jim Newport all of St. Paris, grandchildren Rachel (Shane) Chappie, Regan Foster, Nick (Kalliah) Newport, Daniel and Josiah Newport and two great grandchildren, Tucker Foster and Charlotte Chappie.
Jody is also survived by sisters Lisa (Maressa Seymour) Neff, bonus family Jessica, Jeremiah and Jasire, and brothers Roger (Susan) Neff and Tony (Belle) Neff, nieces and nephews, Kasey (Katie) Neff, Dwight (Melissa) Neff, Rebecca Neff, several great grand nieces, nephews and one great great nephew. Jody will be missed by her beloved pets and companions Moonie and Lil Shit.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a nephew Travis Neff.
Jody was a graduate of Northwestern High School where she was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame for earning nine varsity letters.  She was a long time employee of Shroyer Implement in New Carlisle, OH, a member of the Clark County Farm Bureau, and a lifetime farmer.
Visitation and funeral services will be held all in one day on Thursday, December 1, 2022 in the Atkins-Shively Funeral Home, St. Paris, Ohio.  Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Jim Welch of the North Hampton Community Church presiding.  Please wear your favorite sports team apparel in honor of Jody. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, S. High Street, St. Paris, OH.

Dale Staudter - October 18, 1942 - November 12, 2022

Obituary Preview: Dale Staudter, age 80, of St. Paris, OH passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at 5:15 a.m. at Danbury Senior Living, Tipp City, OH.
Born on October 18, 1942 in Dayton, OH, to the late Valentin and Josephine (Kress) Staudter.  On August 17, 1973 he married Mary Ann (Waldron) and they were married for 49 wonderful years.  Dale and Mary Ann collectively have spread much kindness and love throughout our community.
Dale and Mary Ann’s children include Rebecca (Allen Brandon) Holbrook, Daniel Staudter, Joel (Kelly) Staudter, and Zach (Mary) Staudter.  Grandchildren: Alexander, Elizabeth, Allison, Damian, Abigail, Andrew, Juliana, Malia, and Josephine.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Danny Staudter, a sister Dolores Staudter, and a brother Donald Staudter.
He is also survived by brothers/sisters-in-law Patricia Staudter, John Waldron, Thomas (Cathy) Waldron, Patricia (Bill) Waldron, Eileen (William) Hanafin, Fran (Mike) Kowilick, Michael Waldron and many nieces and nephews.
Dale was a proud graduate of Chaminade High School class of 1960. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, St. Paris, OH.  He loved farming, cutting wood, story telling, taking golf cart rides, helping with Federation of Churches, serving on the board at the Caring Kitchen, supporting the Champaign County Democrats, and, most of all, sharing his infectious laughter if you had time to talk. He retired from General Motors (Inland Plant) in Vandalia.  Dale cherished every moment he spent with his family and friends but especially glowed with happiness when in the company of grandchildren.  Dale never met a stranger and loved attending all of his grandchildren's sporting events and activities.  Dale's contagious smile and roaring laughter will forever be missed in our lives, but we know he is at peace in the house of the Lord.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2022 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Atkins-Shively Funeral Home, St. Paris, OH.
A funeral mass will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 121 E. Walnut Street, St. Paris, OH with Father Jacob Lindle presiding.  Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Ryley is also survived by his siblings: Jacob (Guadalupe) Savage of Killeen, TX, Jewels Savage of Springboro, OH, Jasmine Savage of Miamisburg, OH and Josiah Savage of Urbana, OH; maternal grandparents, Roy and Robin Welch of Fletcher, OH, maternal great grandparents, Richard and Patricia Hopkins of Tipp City, OH; paternal grandparents Richard and Rita Vaughn of Jupiter, FL, paternal great grandmother Edwardine Webster of Jupiter, FL and many aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family members.
Ryley was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Johnny L. Savage, an uncle Joshua Welch, maternal great grandparents, Jerry and Shirley Welch and paternal great grandfather, Jack Webster.
A student at Graham Middle School, St. Paris, Ohio, Ryley was an inquisitive child who never took anything too seriously and was always acting silly.  He enjoyed spending time with his friends.  Ryley loved playing soccer and was the team goalie. Ryley liked working out at the gym and playing backyard sports with his family and friends.  He enjoyed taking pictures of nature and learning about wildlife.  He enjoyed fishing, hiking and camping.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, November 5, 2022 in the Graham Middle School, 9644 US Rt 36, St. Paris, Ohio with Pastor Scott Barger of the St. Paris First Church of God officiating.  Visitation for friends and family will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service beginning at 1:00 p.m. Everyone is invited to wear cheerful colors in honor of Ryley.

Carolyn Zerkle - July 25, 1938 - October 19, 2022

Obituary Preview: Carolyn Zerkle, 84, passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at the Brethren Home in Greenville, Ohio.
She was born in Hardin County on July 25, 1938 to Carl & Sarah (Anspach) Keith. Carolyn married the love of her life, Edwin Leroy (Roy) Zerkle of St. Paris, on May 1, 1960.
Carolyn graduated from Alger High School in 1956. While on a Senior class trip to New York City and Washington, D.C., she met Edwin. They were surprised to discover they only lived an hour apart and began dating after returning from their trip. While Edwin was in the Navy, Carolyn attended the Lima Memorial Hospital School of Nursing and graduated in 1959 with an RN degree. She worked at Lima Memorial as a staff nurse until she was married and moved to St. Paris.  Over the years, Carolyn worked at Piqua Memorial Hospital and Wilson Memorial in Sidney before moving to Greenville where she chose to stay at home to raise her children.  In 1983, she returned to nursing after her children were grown.  She was the night shift supervisor on the 3rd floor Medical Wing of the Brethren Home in Greenville until fall of 2000.  Carolyn trained many nurses at the Brethren Home during the 17 years she worked there.  Some of them are still working there and took care of her during her final years of life.
Carolyn is survived by her daughters: Suzanne Kailasam of Hillsboro, OR and Sharon (Dennis) Young of Fairborn; her seven grandchildren: Shawn Zerkle, Elizabeth Zerkle, Molly (Joseph) Hool, Danielle Young, Keith Young, and Anand Kailasam; her two great-grandchildren: Ashling Hool and Rowan Hool; three of her sisters: Doris Engler of Alger, Kathleen Bickel of Dayton, and Geraldine (Paul) Kladzyk of Phoenix, AZ; sisters- and brothers-in-law: Sue Zerkle of Pickerington, Rodney Zerkle of Port Clinton, and Raymond and Diana Zerkle of Troy as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was welcomed into Heaven by her parents, her husband and his parents, an infant daughter (Deborah Beth) a son (Duane Zerkle), her older sister (Golda Hughes), several brother- and sister-in-laws (Denny Hughes, Mark Bickel, Jim & Shirley Zerkle, and Bob Zerkle).
Her family will receive family and friends on Sunday, October 23, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Atkins-Shively Funeral Home, 216 S. Springfield Street, St. Paris, Ohio.  Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 24, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. in the St. Paris United Methodist Church, 208 W. Walnut Street, St. Paris, Ohio with Pastor Julie Fairchild presiding.  Burial will follow in Casstown Cemetery, Casstown, Ohio.

She is also survived by her brother, Gene (Karen) Salyers of St Paris, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother & sister-in-law, Ed & Vicki Salyers.   She was a member of the Urbana Moose and enjoyed crochet. She worked for Honda of Marysville for 29 years.   Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 21, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the Atkins-Shively Funeral Home, 216 S. Her husband, Tim Evilzisor of St. Paris, her son Dennis Lyons of Springfield, two stepdaughters, Angela Spence of St. Paris and Amy Westcott of Texas and two grandchildren, Jayden and Cooper Lyons of Springfield survive her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Dennis Zwisle.
Darlene graduated from Shawnee High School. She loved to fish and play bingo and enjoyed being a vendor at the St. Paris Farmers market.
A celebration of life gathering for friends and family will be held at Hillside Church of God, 2021 Hillside Avenue, Springfield, Ohio on Thursday, October 6th from 6-8PM.

Bernard was born on July 5, 1944 in Florence, SC. He was a son of the late Bernard E. and Honey Lou (Gardner) Pitsinger.
He married Madonna R. Davis on May 18, 1963 and she survives in St. Paris.  Together they raised two sons:  Bernie E. and David J. (Tonya) Pitsinger both of St. Paris.  He was a loving grandfather to a grandson, Logan, a granddaughter, Natalie, and five great granddaughters. Several nieces and nephews also survive Bernard.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Billy and Gary Pitsinger.
Bernard was a 1962 graduate of Eaton High School, Eaton, OH.  He retired from General Motors in Moraine, OH.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Monday, September 26, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in Evergreen Cemetery, S. High Street, St. Paris, Ohio with Pastor Jeremy Spence of the First Baptist Church presiding.  Atkins-Shively Funeral Home is serving the family.

Obituary Preview: Ray D. Rader, age 72, of St. Paris, OH passed away on Sunday, September 18, 2022 in Springfield Regional Hospital.
Born on March 9, 1950 in Columbus, OH, Ray was the son of the late Myron and Anna (Knisley) Rader.
He married Judy Longworth on June 23, 1969 and she survives.  Together they raised two children, Myke (Brian) Cooney of St. Paris and Cale (Catherine) Rader of Kettering. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Arizona Melo, Alyson Taylor, Anthony Rader, Emilia Godale, Alexander Daniel and Christopher Rader and eight great grandchildren, sister Jackalyn Ragan of Ocala, Florida, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, two grandchildren, Sarah Marchal and Matthew Rader, preceded Ray in death.
Ray was a 1968 graduate of Northwestern Local High School. Ray’s life consisted of service to family, community and nation including service in the Army, Army Reserves, and Ohio National Guard from 1968 until 1994 and worked for Ohio Edison until his retirement after 38 years of service. Along with being active member of the Central Avenue Church of Christ, he rode with the Patriot Guard for 10 years and was a Charter member of the VFW 7645, VFW 5451 (Urbana), and Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 97.
A Graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, September 23 at 11:00 a.m. in the Somerford Township Cemetery, Madison County, Ohio.

Born on July 18, 1934 in La Fayette, GA, Janie was a daughter of the late Cicero and Mamie (Cordell) Hill.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, David Pinkerman, 4 sisters, and three brothers.
Janie is survived by her daughter Vicki L. Pinkerman of Lakeview, OH; sons,  Alan Pinkerman (Sue Sharp) of Goodfield, IL, Edward Pinkerman of New Braunfels, TX, and Michael (Beverly) Pinkerman of Virginia Beach, VA. She was a proud grandmother to 11 grandchildren, several great grandchildren. Her sister, Jean Idle of Troy, OH and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members also survive..
Janie graduated from Christiansburg-Jackson High School in 1952. She was s a member of Olivet Chapter #538 Order of Eastern Star, Christiansburg, Ohio for almost 70 years.  She was formerly employed by International Trucking, Springfield, OH in the materials dept.
Visitation and funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 21, 2022.  There will be a time of visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 12: 00 p.m. in the Atkins-Shively Funeral Home, 216 S. Springfield Street, St. Paris, Ohio.  Eastern Star services will be held at 12:00 p.m. with funeral services to follow officiated by Pastor Jeremy Spence, St. Paris First Baptist Church.  Burial will be in Casstown Cemetery, N. Children’s Home Rd., Casstown, OH.

Obituary Preview: China Marie Stapleton, age 31, of St. Paris, Ohio passed away on September 12, 2022 at 8:18 p.m. as a result of injuries sustained in a car accident on September 10, 2022.   Born on September 22, 1990 in Lima, Ohio, China was the daughter of Kevin Stapleton (special friend Emily) of Florida, and Rhonda (Tim) Harmon of Quincy.      In addition to her father, mother and stepfather, China is survived by her fiancé, Chet Tobias and their children:  Channing, and Chayce Tobias, and Collin, Chloe, Ashton and Aislynn Tobias, and a grandson, Callum Tobias.  A brother Ryan (Melissa) Degan of Lima, a sister, Misty Stapleton of Bryan, OH, her maternal grandmother, Vivian Hines, and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends also survive.   China was preceded in death by her brother, Derek Middendorf, maternal grandfather, Bernard Hines, and Paternal grandparents Donald Stapleton and Crata Cavinder.   China was a 2008 graduate of Graham High School.  She was currently employed by Studebaker’s Country Restaurant of Urbana.  In her spare time China enjoyed thrifting and photography.  She took many pictures of sunsets that she shared with her sister Misty. She loved working with her fellow employees at Studebaker’s.   Her family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Kettering Medical Center and Life Connections for their care and consideration they have shown to China and her family during the process of donating her organs.    A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, September 18, 2022 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the Atkins-Shively Funeral Home, 216 S. Obituary Preview: Earmel Dotson, 67, of Conover, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2022 in his residence.
He was born on March 10, 1955 to the late James and Wanema (Scott) Dotson.
Earmel married Cathy Spellman and she preceded him in death in 2017. Together they raised three children, Ashley Dotson (James Adkins) of Conover, Michael Dotson (Ashley Cost) of DeGraff and the late Teresa Lockwood. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Katlynn Dotson, Chelsie Dotson and Travis Lockwood and four great grandchildren, Brayden Leigh, Sy’rhia, Legacy and Ezra Davis and his stepmother, Kimmy Dotson (Tony Wallace). Additional survivors include four brothers, James (Jane) Dotson, Steve (Debbie) Dotson, David (Ernie) Dotson, Timmy (Cindy) Dotson and three sisters, Diane (Dennis) Casey, Nellie (Doug) Hoff and Patty Miller, several nieces and nephews and many special family and friends.
In addition to his wife, daughter and parents, two sisters, Lois Moore and Debbie Samuel’s, preceded Earmel in death.
Earmel graduated from Sidney High School and attended Clark State Community College. He worked for Heartland Nursing Home for many years before getting sick. He was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church, Urbana. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and bowling.
A celebration of Earmel’s life will be held at a later date.  Arrangements are being handled by Atkins-Shively Funeral Home.

Obituary Preview: Elizabeth (Libby) Evans, 90, of St. Paris, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2022 and was reunited with her husband Charles (Chuck) and son Kermit. She was born September 28, 1931 in St. Paris to Lewis Howard and Mary (Walborn) Eaton.
Libby worked for many years as the cashier and cooked food for her lunch customers at Eaton's Market in St. Paris. Her shredded chicken and baked goods were a few customer favorites. Libby and her husband of 70 years, Chuck, could often be found sitting on the front porch of their Springfield Street home waving to those driving by and talking to local farmers.
Elizabeth is preceded in death by her husband, Chuck, her son, Kermit, her brothers and sisters-in-law Don (Fonda) Eaton and Kermit (Sondra) Eaton.
Elizabeth is survived by her daughter-in-law Linda (Fred) Fullerton; her grand-daughters Kelly (John) Wilson of Mechanicsburg, Ohio and Kristin (Travis) Freeman of Woodstock, GA; her great-grandchildren Emma, Elyse, and Eli Wilson and Isabella, Anna, Alexis, and Isaac Freeman; her nephew Kevin Eaton, and niece Lisa Eaton Palmer.
“Nan” as she was referred to by her grandkids and great-grandkids loved hearing about and attending their activities.
Many thanks to those who have assisted with Libby and Chuck's care over the years. Special thanks to the staff at Urbana Place and ProMedica Hospice for their help the last few months.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are being handled by Atkins-Shively Funeral Home.

In addition to his parents, Chris is survived by his wife Shannon (Hassler) Jent, his two children Austin Jent and Andrea Jent, and grandson, Hunter Nesbitt all of St. Paris, his brother, Jesse (Cynthia) Jent of Dayton, maternal grandmother, Adah L Massie of New Carlisle and his uncle Tom (Patty) Massie of Franklin.  He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Charles Massie and his paternal grandparents, Allie & Katherine Jent.
Chris was a 1994 graduate of Graham High School. He was the owner of Jent Mechanical.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. in the Atkins-Shively Funeral Home, 216 S. Springfield Street, St. Paris, OH with Pastor Julie Fairchild of the St. Paris United Methodist Church presiding. Burial will follow in the Terre Haute Cemetery, Urbana, Ohio.

She is also survived by her sister, Kathy Pennypacker, of Florida, brother John R. (Kitty June) Maholick, and many nieces, nephews and great nieces & nephews.
Edna previously worked as a Phlebotomist at Upper Valley Medical Center and a former LPN and EMT. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was known by her family as the “QVC Queen” and enjoyed working in her flower garden.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2022 from 11;00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Atkins-Shively Funeral Home, 216 S. Springfield Street, St. Paris, Ohio. An addition celebration will be held in Florida at a later date.

Obituary Preview: Helen Louise (Overman) Carnes, age 90 passed away on August 22, 2022. She was born on January 27, 1932 in Clark County, Ohio the daughter of the late Ora and Irma (Fawley) Overman.
Helen was married to the late Fred Carnes on January 13, 1950. Together they raised two daughters Sherill (Ed) Draper and Katherine ‘Kathy’ (Dan) Bair both of St Paris. Helen always told everyone that Ed and Dan were the sons they never had; they were very special son-in-laws.
She is survived by five grandchildren, Christy Draper (Troy) Hanson of Yellow Springs, Fred (Caroline) Draper of Los Angeles, CA, Jennifer Bair (Nathan) Lucas of Troy, Kellie Bair (Mike) Nuzum of Springboro and Joey (Danielle) Bair of St Paris, and eight great grandchildren; Noah, Jacob, Elijah, Lucas, Emmaline, and  Adean Hanson; Ian, Hank and Ellie Bair, and also her beloved dog, Brutus. Helen is survived by her sisters Florence Lawson of Tipp City, Betty (Dick) LeValley of Springfield, a sister-in-law Phyliss Overman of Springfield and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother Russell Overman.
Helen and Fred were dairy farmers until 1979. They also built Coral Bowling Lanes with Melvin and Ruth Carnes and Annabelle (Carnes) Baker in 1960 in St Paris. Helen loved to paint pictures and they are beautiful. She painted several pictures in her life and gave several away to people. She loved to paint farm scenes on canvas, and antique saws. Her husband Fred would say he didn’t dare bring any tools into the house or she would be painting on them. Helen also had a green thumb, she loved flowers and hers were beautiful.
Helen was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, and she will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m on Friday, August 26, 2022 in the Atkins-Shively Funeral Home, 216 S. Springfield Street, St Paris, Ohio with Pastor Russell Lawson of the Bellefontaine Church of Christ presiding.
Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday August 26, 2022 from 10:00 am until the time of the service beginning at 12:00 pm in the funeral home.

Born on January 12, 1924 in Sellersville, Pennsylvania, Chuck was a son of the late Charles H. and Harriet (Doxsee) McCulla, Jr.
Chuck is survived by a son, Timothy Kite McCulla of Troy, a beloved son-in-law, Jim Snipes of Troy,  three grandchildren: David (Cindy) Snipes of Vandalia, OH, Amy (Nasos) Mihalakas of Dublin, OH, Colleen (Brandon) McCulla Stockwell of Dublin, OH, grandson-in-law, Rich Spears of Tipp City, OH; six great grandchildren, Cody, Conner, Hailee, Madeline, Eleni, and Theo; and four great great grandchildren, Mya, Charlotte, Liam, and Lukas.
Chuck was preceded in death by his wife, Martha J. (Kite) McCulla, a daughter Cynthia McCulla Snipes, a granddaughter, Jody Snipes Spears, two brothers, Bruce and Robert McCulla, and three sisters, Thelma Grieser, Rose Phares, and Eleanor Heaston.
Chuck was a graduate of Christiansburg-Jackson High School.  He served these United States of America in the U.S. Army 84th Infantry Division Railsplitters during WWII and was a Purple Heart recipient.  Chuck’s specialty in life was people.  He worked in automotive sales, farm equipment, and bus sales. He enjoyed learning about his customers and then meeting their needs.  He later became an independent life and health insurance agent working in many offices, the last of which was the Vannoy-Cox Insurance Agency in Greenville.
Chuck was a former member of the St. Paris United Methodist Church, Asonia First Church of God, and was currently attending the Troy United Methodist Church when he was able.  He was also a former member of the St. Paris Lions Club and a member of the Urbana Council #59 and the Greenville Lodge #143 Free and Accepted Masons.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the Atkins-Shively Funeral Home, 216 S. Springfield St. St. Paris, Ohio.  Masonic services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow officiated by Pastor Julie Fairchild of the St. Paris United Methodist Church.  Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, St. Paris, with military honors.

Born on December 7, 1942 in Woodstock, Ohio, Marilyn was a daughter of the late Donald Frank and Belva Pauline (Heck) Myers.
She married Byron “Barney” Carnes on August 5, 1960 and he survives in St. Paris.  Together they raised three sons, two of whom survive. Byron Tracy Carnes of St. Paris, Robbie (Jennifer) Carnes of Northridge and Jeffrey Allen Carnes who preceded her in death.  She was a loving grandmother to: Morgan (Eric) Ferry, Layne Carnes, Bryan (Shania) Carnes, Annabelle Ferry and Lincoln Ferry,  and Terry, Carrie, Courtney, Rachel and Trevor Carnes.  Marilyn is also survived by  brothers, Kenneth (Phoebe) Myers of St. Paris and Rocky (Carol) Myers of Texas, many aunts uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and special friends Frank and Mary Collins, Lee Bubeck, Gary and Linda Robison, Terry and Greta Black. In addition to her parents and son she was also preceded in death by a sister, Linda Caito, and a brother and sister-in-law Richard and Matilda Myers.
Marilyn was a 1959 graduate of Graham High School.  Marilyn worked along side her husband Barney for many years building Barney’s Auto Repair.  She loved talking with customers and always asked about their families.  She was active in the St. Paris community and her church.  She enjoyed camping with family, bike riding, walking, playing cards with friends, traveling with her husband and attending church activities. She was a quiet, gentle, loving soul and will be missed as a wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
Memorial funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. in the Atkins-Shively Funeral Home, 216 S. Springfield Street, St. Paris, Ohio with Pastor Jeremy Spence of the St. Paris First Baptist Church presiding.  There will be two hours of visitation prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday in the funeral home. He graduated from Graham High School in 1972.  Ben worked for the railroad and then he became a firefighter and EMT.  He served the Saint Paris community for over 43 years.
Visitation for friends and family will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2022 in the Atkins-Shively Funeral Home, 216 S. Springfield Street, St. Paris, Ohio. The Knights of Pythias # 344 will have a service beginning at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home, followed by Fireman’s services with Chaplain Jeremy Spence presiding. Kathy was born in Troy, Ohio on April 26, 1953 to the late Marvel and Ruth (Skinner) Henderson. She married Kermit Wilson on April 12, 1980 and together they raised their two sons. Kathy is survived by her loving husband Kermit, sons John (Gwen) Marcum of Springfield, Justin (Dru) Wilson of Urbana and grandchildren Josh Marcum, Ellie Marcum, Jordan Wilson and Cole Click. She is also survived by a sister Joyce Lingo and brother, Floyd Henderson.
Kathy graduated from Troy High School and Clark State Community College for photography. She was also a graduate of Ringling Brothers/Barnum and Bailey School of Clowning. She worked for A.O. Smith, Infotel Computer Sales and Honda of America.
Kathy had a great sense of humor and an infectious smile that no one could ignore. She loved nature, people and most of all her family. Kathy enjoyed working in her many beautiful flowerbeds around her home and together they enjoyed traveling to Square Dancing events being members of the Wright Patters, Trojan Squares and Concord Clover Leaf Clubs.
Kathy always had a heart for helping others. She loved serving the Lord with her clowning ministry and the Kairos ministry at the Ohio Reformatory for Women. There, Kathy started a Life Recovery Bible Study and continued leading until her health prevented her from doing so. Kathy struggled with addiction and became a member of AA. As she overcame her own addiction she helped others with understanding and love as a sponsor. Kathy was a member of Lena Baptist Church where she enjoyed Sunday School and VBS. A celebration of her life will be held on Friday July 22, 2022 at 11:00 am in the Atkins-Shively Funeral Home, 216 S. Springfield St, St. Paris, Ohio with Pastor Nate Wilcoxen presiding. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery, St. Paris, Ohio
