Charles H Watson - October 07, 1940 - April 05, 2024

Departed: 04/05/2024 (Cleveland)
Obituary Preview: Charles H. Watson was born in Blytheville, Arkansas on October 7, 1940. His parents Ethel and Robert Watson (both deceased), moved to Cleveland, Ohio later in 1940, where he grew up with his brothers and sisters: Willie J., Jessie James, Robert Jr., Eddie B, Earl, Norma Jean Sykes, and Barbara Jean Smith.
Charles met and married Patricia. They had four children, Sabrina, Barbara Ann, Charles Eric who preceded him in death in 1991, and Jason Robert.
Charles was a successful businessman for many years with C. Watson Tucking, hauling loads of cars from all over different areas. When he retired, he was working at the National Telephone Supply Company, where he worked with a few family members until he called it quits.
In his past time and early years, it was all about cars. Racing and building fast cars and hanging out with his many friends that were into cars was one of his favorite things to do. As he got older, he built a couple more cars in the backyard with his brother until he decided the last one was too fast and he put up his racing shoes. Then his new favorite thing to do was fish. Charles always fished, but being retired meant more fishing. He went every weekend, sometimes twice and competed with family to see who caught the most and telling fisherman tales. We were looking forward to getting him back on the water this summer, but God had other plans. Now he is looking over us all and he will be with us all, wherever we are as his spirit lives on in all of us.
Charles departed this life on Friday, April 5, 2024. He leaves to cherish his precious memories his wife, Patricia Watson; two daughters, Sabrina Deon Craig (Donald Craig) and Barbara Jean Watson; one son, Jason Robert Watson (Taneika Watson); grandchildren, Rhymel, Ladidra & Dontez, Tiara, Henry, Dezhon, Tyrion & Charles "Lil Chuck", Jayona, Ryan & Jason Jr.; great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Janet M Minnieweather - June 21, 1952 - April 02, 2024

Departed: 04/02/2024 (Cleveland)
Obituary Preview: Janet Minnieweather Obituary:
On the morning of Tuesday April 2, 2024, after 71 years of life and legacy, Janet Mary Minnieweather peacefully departed this life surrounded by family. Born in Westlake, Ohio on June 21, 1952, Janet was the youngest of six children born to the late Mr. Walter P. Loewe and Mrs. Elizabeth Loewe.
Growing up in Westlake, Ohio, she went to St. Bernadette Catholic School for Elementary School and graduated from Westlake High School in 1971. After graduating high school, she studied at Kent State University and Cuyahoga Community College. She also graduated from Cosmetology School and received a license in Real Estate. She found her passion in Direct Mail Advertising, Printing, and Advertising and spent over 30 years in the field until her retirement in 2017. Time Warner Cable was one of her many clients and she even placed her Granddaughter Erika in one of Time Warner Cable’s nationwide commercials.
She met the love of her life, James “Doug” Minnieweather on April 15, 1976 and they immediately fell in love. They were married on January 18, 1977 which was Doug’s parent’s anniversary. To this union, Janet gained a son, James “Dougie” Minnieweather and on October 1, 1980 Rachael Michelle Minnieweather was born.
Janet accepted Jesus Christ as her savior at an early age. She had an extensive and active history of participating in church activities such as teaching Sunday school, vacation bible school, and singing in the church choir. In recent years she found great joy fellowshipping and talking about Jesus with the Dive Deeper women’s group until her illness progressed and she could no longer participate.
Janet’s priority was her family. Each year she took a day off of work to spend time in her daughter’s elementary school classroom to be a student for the day. She was very active in her children’s’, grandchildren’s, and great granddaughter’s lives even into their adulthood. She attended many of their extracurricular activities. Janet embraced her children’s friends as her own and even invited herself on Girl’s Trips with Rachael and her friends.
Everyone was welcome in her home anytime and treated like family. She often gave support, encouragement, and advice. She was known for giving her honest opinion which gave everyone she met just the push they needed for greatness.
She loved traveling. Cruising with family and friends, going on the annual family vacation, seeing a play on Broadway in New York City, and traveling to Hawaii to visit her brother and sister-in-law were among her favorite travel destinations. Theatre and Musicals were a big deal to her--whether it was a movie or a Broadway play. She and her daughter had season tickets to Playhouse Square for many years. She also frequently traveled to enjoy plays in Toronto, New York City, Karamu House, The JCC, and Cleveland Playhouse. “Les Miserables” was her favorite musical of all time!
She also loved music. The Beatles, Charlie Wilson and Tower of Power were among her favorite artists. She enjoyed attending music concerts throughout Ohio and the region.
She loved football and was a loyal Cleveland Browns fan. She and Doug had season tickets to the old stadium and the new stadium for many years with their seats being in the Dawg Pound. When attending outdoor Browns games became too difficult, she and Doug became season ticket holders of the Cleveland Gladiators arena football team…because it was indoors. Women’s basketball was another one of her favorite sports. She and her niece, Sherry, had season tickets to the Cleveland Rocker’s Women’s Basketball team for many years. Her presence, infectious laugh, homemade rolls, pompeii purple nails, and lemon pound cake will be missed. She truly was fantastic and THE BEST to EVER do it!!
Janet Mary Minnieweather was preceded in death by her Mother, Elizabeth Loewe; Father, Walter Loewe; Mother-in-Law Willie Snow Minnieweather; Father-in-Law, James Minnieweather; Sister-in-Law, Maxine Johnson, Brothers-in-Law, Griffin Johnson, Robert C. Minnieweather, William B. Minnieweather, and O.J. Hollohan; nephews: Griffin Johnson Jr., Rodney Johnson, and Eric Hollohan.
She is survived by her husband James “Doug” Minnieweather of 47 years, daughter Rachael Minnieweather, son James “Dougie” Minnieweather Jr. (Toni); Her three grandchildren, Kristopher Minnieweather, Whitney Coles, and Erika Minnieweather; Her great granddaughter Julionna Minnieweather; Her sister Laurinda Hollohan; brothers: Walter Paul Loewe (Naomi), Gary Loewe (Pam), Bobby Loewe (Maureen), and Don Loewe (Patty); Her Sister-in-Laws: Sharon Minnieweather and Joya Simpson ; Her niece and best friend Robin “Sherry” Dickson; nieces, Freda Johnson-Fox (David), Fern Johnson, Jacklyn Ireland, Crystal Simpson, Brittani Minnieweather McElveen (Derek), Shauna Walker (Damon); nephews: Dwayne Johnson and Brian Hollohan (Stephanie); Her additional daughters: Angelia “Monet” Bell, Tara Burgin, Janielle Cox, Cristina Galilei, Domonique Hubbard, Tanisha Lewis, Jocqueela “Kiki” Sherman (Deon), Dawn Shanklin, Kelli Shanklin, Tiffany Steppenbacker, Jacquees Steward, Erica Thompson, and Tiffany Thompson; and a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

James Bell - September 11, 1956 - February 23, 2024

Departed: 02/23/2024 (Cleveland)
Obituary Preview: James Edward Bell Jr., affectionately known as Junior, was born to the union of James and Lillie Mae Bell on September 11, 1956, in Cleveland, Ohio. James was reared in Cleveland, Ohio with his two older siblings, Joice and Jacquelyn. He attended Cleveland Public Schools prior to graduating from John F. Kennedy High School. Upon completion of High School, James enlisted in the United States Army where he served until, he was honorably discharged.
James went on to serve an additional 4 years in the US Army Reserve before finally settling back into civilian life in his hometown of Cleveland, Ohio. James went on to work a variety of jobs at Hallmark, Seaway Foods, Sysco, and LTV Steel, before accepting a truck driving position with NAT Trucking Services, before he eventually retired.
James was a jack of all trades, and he was not a stranger to hard work, a value that was instilled in him by his parents at very young age. James realized early on that he was good with his hands after spending many years under the tutelage of his father, where their free time was spent working on cars, and making repairs around the house. He also had a knack for landscaping, so much so that he was able to parlay his skillset into a business in the 1990’s. This consisted of cutting grass in the summer, and plowing snow in the winter. He had contracts all throughout northeast Ohio, which often required solicited help from his nephews, Cassius and Jowell, and his son Christian.
Throughout his childhood in Cleveland, OH, James was engulfed in the African American Religious Experience. He attended, and was an active parishioner of Mt. Gillion Missionary Baptist Church, where he began his relationship with Christ. Mt Gillion was also where his father, James Sr., served as the Head Deacon and Trustee, under the leadership of the late Freddie L. Brown. It was at Mt. Gillion Missionary Baptist Church, that he was exposed to diverse styles of preaching from all over the country, especially during tent revival at Luke Easter Park.
Moreover, It was through much prayer that James made the decision to fulfill his vocation by answering his call into the ministry. James was a God-fearing man, and was immensely dedicated to the ministry, in which he shared his love, time, talent, and tithes. He was also actively involved in serving the sick and shut in on First Sundays with Communion. James spent much of his latter years at Leviticus Sweet Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church, where he was ordained into the ministry under the leadership of Pastor Horace Glover Jr.
James was impassioned by family, another value passed down from his late parents, who were from the south. He would spend countless hours cultivating relationship with family members, locally and nationally. James was also heavily involved, often instilling the importance of education in the minds of his children. He was always proud of his children’s accomplishments, while championing academic excellence, discipline, and most importantly, the love of God.
James spent a majority of his leisure time reading the Word of God, going to bible study or church, watching sports (NFL, MLB and NBA), cooking, baking, listening to music, singing, and dancing. He also took great pleasure in dressing well and smelling good.
James was preceded in death by his parents, James E. Bell Sr. and Lillie Mae Bell, and sister Joice Bell-Atkinson.
He is survived by his children, Christian James, Erin Nicole, Hope India, Jasmine, India; Grandchildren, Elijah, Jewel, Emerald and Zivia; sister, Jacquelyn, and a host of other relatives, and special friends.
