Obituary Preview: Patricia “Patsy” Ann Jennette Bromley 79 of Woodstock, VA passed away Monday, April 18, 2022, at her residence surrounded by her loving family and friends.
A funeral service for Patsy will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 22, 2022, at the St. Luke Brethren Church in Woodstock, VA with Pastor Shawn Garber officiating.  Patsy will be laid to rest in the Jennette Family Cemetery in Buxton, NC.
The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m.
Patsy was born on February 19, 1943, a daughter of the late Paul Melvin and Gladys Virginia Putman Palmer.  Patsy moved to Cape Hatteras, NC in 1979 and became a member of the Buxton Assembly of God Church for over 15 years where she served as a Sunday school teacher and lead the church music with her beautiful voice.  After returning to Virginia she attended St. Luke Brethren Church.  Patsy always looked forward to all the Putman and Palmer family reunions as they were special times for her.  She loved her family and friends especially her church family.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband and father of her children Darrel Jennette; her husband Louis Pirkey Bromley; brothers Charles M. Palmer, Sr., Ray Palmer; sisters Jane Drummonds, Dorothy L. Welch and husband Kenny;  nieces, Debra K. Clark, Heather Wilkins, and Samantha Green, and a nephew Robbie Smith.
Survivors include her children Lisa Jennette Stowe of Strasburg, VA, and Lance Jennette of Woodstock; her grandchildren Kelly Stowe, Michael Stowe, Ariel Stowe, Kaleb Spencer, and Grace Martin; 16 great grandchildren;  her step children Paula Bromley, Brian Bromley, and Becky Bromley; her siblings Ida Smith, Roland Palmer both of Strasburg, VA, Fay Schindler of Toms Brook, and Richard Palmer of Stephens City; her sisters-in-law Joan Robinson and Teresa Deaton both of Buxton, NC along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Smith, Jimmy Green, Keith Drummonds, Bill Drummonds, Timmy Palmer, Michael Palmer, Chris Palmer, Rowland Palmer, and Richard Palmer.
The family would like to offer a special thank you to Blue Ridge Hospice and her caregiver Susan Goody.

Patricia "Pat" Ann Hull - July 09, 1940 - April 17, 2022

Obituary Preview: Patricia Ann Hodson Hull, 81, of Goode, VA passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2022. She was born on July 9, 1940, in Winchester, VA. A daughter of the late Harry Hodson and Lena Kline Hodson. In addition to her parents Patricia was preceded in death by her son, Theodore “Ted” Hull; Brother William “Billy” Hodson; sister-in-law, Cheryl Hodson and a special friend, Al Abel.
Patricia enjoyed spending time with her family and close friends throughout the years. She was loved by so many and will be missed dearly. Those left to cherish her memory are three sons, Austin Hull and his wife, Melinda, Edward “Ed” Hull and his wife, Shelly and Fred Hull and his girlfriend Suzanne Schubert: five grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and one brother, Harry “Buster” Hodson. Also surviving are numerous special nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

Lt. Col. Wilford R. Pieper, USAF, Ret. - December 05, 1919 - April 14, 2022

Obituary Preview: Lt. Col. Wilfred Robert Pieper, USAF, Ret., age 102 of Winchester, VA passed way Thursday, April 14, 2022, at his residence.
Affectionately known as Wil, he grew up in a German Lutheran family in Buffalo and Minneapolis, Minnesota. As a young man he began to explore his creative inclinations by studying art and illustration at the Minneapolis College of Art, a talent he would pursue throughout his life along with music as a jazz musician.
Wil frequently identified August 27,1942 as “the best day of his life”. It was that day he received his ‘wings’ from the Army Air Corp, was commissioned as an officer and was married to his high school sweetheart, Lois Mae Melin.
During World War II Wil flew 236 combat missions and totaled over 4,300 flying hours during his flying career. For his service during World War II, he received the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Metal with Two Oak Clusters.  Wil was certified as a pilot from cargo planes in WWII to jet fighters in Korea.  In addition to India, Enewetak, and Korea, Wil served multiple assignments in the United States. Prior to his retirement after 25 years in the Air Force, Will represented the Air Force with the Joint Chiefs of Staff.  He continued his career with the Federal Aviation Administration and the newly formed Department of Transportation for an additional 20 years.
Wil continually explored his creative talents and his technical and manual skills.  As an artist he worked with numerous art expressions including painting, drawing, carving, sculpting and stained glass, he designed and built his families’ first home, built and flew an experimental airplane, and, with his son, built a record holding Bonneville streamliner race car.
Throughout his busy life, Wil cared deeply for his family.  He was proceeded in death by his loving wife of 67 years, Lois, two brothers and two sisters.  He is survived by two children, Marcia Lacy Melin from Los Osos, California, and Steven Robert Pieper from Strasburg, Virginia, four grandchildren, six great grandchildren and a sister, Betsy Priggie of Apple Valley, Minnesota.
Lt. Col. Wilfred Robert Pieper, USAF, Ret. will be laid to rest with full military honors in Arlington National Cemetery.

Patricia "Pat" Eugenia Clem - January 08, 1933 - April 12, 2022

Obituary Preview: Patricia “Pat” Eugenia Ridings Clem 89, of Strasburg, VA passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at the Shenandoah Memorial Hospital.
A funeral service for Mrs. Clem will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 18, 2022, at Stover Funeral Home with Rev. Rob Lovett officiating.  Mrs. Clem will be laid to rest beside her husband in the Maurertown Brethren Church Cemetery, Maurertown, VA.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Clem was born in Shenandoah County, VA on January 8, 1933, a daughter of the late Noah Jacob and Mabel Lee Kremer Ridings.  She was a lifelong active member of the Strasburg Christian Church.  Pat worked for First Bank in Strasburg from 1960-1998 retiring as a customer service representative.  She was an avid volunteer and supporter of the Strasburg Museum having served as a Director and Treasurer from 1999-2012. Pat was a founding member and treasurer for the Compassionate Cupboard in Strasburg helping form the group in 1989.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Charles Kenneth Clem and siblings Helen Ridings Ratlief, and Lee Ridings.
Survivors include her sister, Mary Katherine “Kitty” Laudenslager of Pennsylvania; her dear friend and caregiver Dolores Pangle of Strasburg along with several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Dennis Ridings, Duane Ridings, Daniel Ridings, Benjamin Ridings, Michael Ridings, and Samuel Ridings.

Obituary Preview: Gloria Jean Lam Middleton, age 80, of Luray, Virginia, and formerly of Strasburg, Virginia, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 12, 2022. A funeral service for Gloria will be held at Stover Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at 11:00 a.m.  Burial will follow in the Riverview Cemetery, Strasburg
A celebration of Gloria's life will follow Tuesday's services at the community center next to the Queen Street Diner, located at 728 East Queen Street, Strasburg, Virginia.
The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home on Monday, April 18, 2022, from 6pm-8pm.   Gloria was born on February 3, 1942, in Woodstock, Virginia, and was the daughter of the late Louie Alexander Lam, Sr. and Pauline Orndorff Lam, of Strasburg, Virginia.  Gloria grew up in Strasburg and graduated from Strasburg High School on June 8, 1960.  While in high school, she enjoyed singing in the chorus and was a varsity cheerleader.  Gloria met her husband of 12 years, Harvey Allen Snapp, while in high school, and after marrying they raised three daughters.      Gloria loved to sing and in her early 30's moved to Nashville, where she recorded a 2-song LP, hoping to become a country music singer.  She had a talent and green thumb for growing plants and flowers.  Her interest in floral design led her to having her own floral shop in Strasburg.  She participated and won awards in black powder gun shooting competitions.  She loved being with her family and enjoyed teaching her grandchildren how to shoot a bow and arrow.  She enjoyed sewing and making outfits for herself and her daughters when they were young.  She loved to cook and was very good at refinishing furniture.  She enjoyed the outdoors and watching the squirrels play.  Most recently, she enjoyed playing bingo, doing arts and crafts, and eating her favorite sweets.   Gloria is survived by her three daughters Tina L. Snapp (Susan Leathery) of Annandale, VA, Samantha L. Baugher (Clay) of Bentonville, VA, and Melissa A. Snapp (Chris Beverlin) of Front Royal, VA; brother Douglas Lam (Nina) of Louisa, VA; sisters Shirley Beaty (Jack) of Front Royal, VA, JoAnn White of Stephen's City, VA, and Paula Troxell (Boyd) of Strasburg, VA.  She is also survived by her half-brother Louie A. Lam (Kay) of Knoxville, TN, and half-sister Ruby Touseull of Maryville, TN. Gloria is also survived by her four grandchildren Jessica Pfister, Abigail Baugher, Samuel Baugher, and Brendan Snapp, and two great-grandchildren Isaiah and Maeve Hall.   Gloria was preceded in death by her brothers Kenneth Lam and Jerry R. Lam, half-sister Elizabeth White and half-brother Carson Lam.   Pallbearers will be Clay Baugher, Samuel Baugher, Brendan Snapp, Kenneth Rutherford, Jimmy Adams, and Tom Poe.

A funeral service for Mrs. Heishman will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at the Lebanon Lutheran Church with Rev. Christopher Porter officiating.  Burial will follow in the Lebanon Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m.
Dorothy was born in Intermont, West Virginia on November 13, 1926, a daughter of the late Howard Lee and Marjorie Vivian Smith Brill.  She was a member of the Lebanon Lutheran Church where she took part in the Lutheran Church Women and held various offices throughout the years.  Dorothy taught school in Hardy County, West Virginia prior to marriage and raising her family.  She loved to travel, gardening, canning, reading, spending time with family and staying in touch with her numerous pen pals from around the world.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Denzil Crawford Heishman and a brother James Alfred Brill.
Survivors include her children Deborah Pizzola (fiancé Richard Carpenter) of Madison, VA, Lisa Kay Stefancin (Ron) of Harrisonburg, VA, and Robyn Whitaker of Woodstock, VA; her grandchildren Heather Halfin (Josh), Meghan Kidwell (Bo), Joseph Abramski, Amanda Furman, Allison Stefancin, Matthew Whitaker (Carina), and Zachary Whitaker; her great-grandchildren MacKenna Halfin, Mason Halfin, Kaytlyn Gregory, Alex Furman, and Emily Whitaker. Dorothy was the unofficial mom to many church members and a host of friends.
Pallbearers will be Gene McDonald, Roger Hockman, Wesley Hockman, Billy Hockman, Roy Reynolds, Joe Jackson, Jackie Rudolph, and Ken Brumback.

Ann was born in Winchester, VA on March 2, 1938, to the late Cletus Franklin and Goldie Mae Lake.  Ann was raised by her maternal grandmother Nannie Lake.  She moved to Strasburg from Front Royal, VA in 1960 and worked as a childcare provider, a seamstress and then a culinary assistant with the Massanutten Military Academy.  Ann was of the Methodist faith.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Orville Francis “Bud” Plauger, and they were married 49 years nine months and one day.  In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by siblings, John Lake, Marshall Lake, Herbert Donnie Lake, Joyce Carper, and Nina Fake.
Survivors include her children Adam Wade Plauger and wife Pam of Winchester, VA, Jeff Plauger and wife Amy of Tecumseh, MI, and Carla Plauger Blakely and husband Jeff of Front Royal, VA; her grandchildren Kyle Plauger, Dylan Plauger, Tiffany Blakely, Stephanie Blakely, Wyatt Blakely, and Hunter Plauger along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Sonya Williams-Giersch officiating.  Mrs. Bromley will be laid to rest with her husband in Riverview Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday at the church one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Bromley was born in Strasburg, VA on December 7, 1924, a daughter of the late Sandy Scott and Beatrice Marie Smith Williams.  She was a lifetime member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church and retired from Aileen, Inc. in Edinburg, VA where she worked as an office manager.  Margaret then worked for the St. Paul Lutheran Preschool & Child Care Center for several years.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Charles Janney “Bob” Bromley, Jr. and siblings Martha Brill and P. Thomas Williams, Archie Williams, John Williams, and Richard Williams.
Survivors include her children Bobbie Jo Poling (Vince) of Strasburg, Donna Sue Davis (Jinx) of Strasburg, Alisa Kline (partner David Reichley) of Woodstock, and Chuck Bromley (Vicki) of Maurertown; her grandchildren Ron Hammond, Jr., Tommie Ann Bower, Christopher Shipe, Jessica Monn, Brooke Dobbs, Joel Kline, Devin Davis, and Alexander Cooper; 12 great-grandchildren; one sister, Sherry Elizabeth Rodgers (Bill) of Oregon along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Honorary pallbearers will be Margaret’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Mobley was born May 5, 1928 in Stockport, Ohio to the late Jesse Albert Hayes and Mable Myrtle Wood Hayes. Charlotte graduated from Malta-McConnelsville High School in 1946. Mrs. Mobley worked as a school bus driver for Westerville City Schools. She also enjoyed driving bus for Central College Presbyterian Church. She married her husband Kermit J Mobley on January 20,1951. Preceding her in death are her husband Kermit, along with her parents and siblings Dorothy (Dot) Allard, Mildred (Skeat) Calendine and Mary Bankes.
Charlotte is survived by her children, Jerry Mobley of St. Marys County, Maryland, Schaun (Cheryl Porter) Mobley of Mukilteo, WA, Melanie and (Randy) Brinnon of Lewis Center, OH, Kevin Mobley, Los Altos, CA, Paul (Carolyn) Mobley of Front Royal, VA, Jesse (Heather) Mobley of Westerville, OH. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Elizabeth Mobley Mantilas, Stacy Mobley Johnson, Jeremy Mobley, Shannon Mobley Revels, Alexandra Mobley, Megan Mobley, and Erica Mobley; and 5 great grandchildren.
Services will be held on March 30, 2022 at HILL FUNERAL HOME, 220 South State Street, Westerville, OH at 2PM. Roger Calendine will be presiding over the services. Burial will be in McConnelsville, OH following the service.

Obituary Preview: Titus Paul Condon, 59 of Toms Brook, VA, passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2022, surrounded by family at Winchester Medical Center. A funeral service for Mr. Condon will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 14, 2022, at Stover Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Sunset View Memorial Gardens, Woodstock, VA.
He was born November 23, 1962, in Thurles, Tipperary County, Ireland.   He spent his youth on the fourth-generation farm in Ballinure, Ireland filled with family and friends.  He graduated at Clonnel High School in 1980 and graduated as a nurse in Cork Cit, Ireland.  He had a love of dance, competing in Irish dancing winning numerous medals and awards.
Always up for an adventure, he left Ireland for America in 1986 where he met his wife, Karen Crabill.  They started their life together in 1988 and built their home on the Crabill Family Farm.
He started his career in carpentry with Ace Carpentry and later with Miller Brothers.   He could do beautiful work with a piece of wood.  He built a family of close workmates.  They called him “Home Depot” because he had every tool possible.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Roger and Delia Condon and Karen’s parents, Eugene and Mary Crabill.
Surviving is his wife of 34 years Karen, Brothers Michael (Ann), Timothy, Roger, John, Philip and Patrick Condon: sisters Josephine Delehanty, Margaret Carey (Michael) and Majella Condon.  Nieces and nephews: Jennifer, Kevin, Sarah, Delia, Rodger, Sean, Lorna, Maeve, and Rodger Condon; Marc, Jeanette and Rodger Delehanty; Marianne and Bridgette Carey; Nickolas and Adam Crabill, Lauren Drayer, David Hamilton, Kimberly Lowden and Kristin Hefren.
Even though he loved his homeland, he became an American citizen in 2009.  He truly loved his community of Riverview; always up for a long talk as if he was in the pubs of Ireland.  He had special children that he watched grow up: Megan, Jeffery, Colleen, Seth, Emily, Alexa, Makayla and Olivia.  He loved them all.

Obituary Preview: Randolph Beeman of Strasburg, Virginia, passed away Friday, March 4, 2022, on his 85th birthday, at his home in the presence of family.
In honoring the request of Mr. Beeman, services and burial will be conducted privately.
Mr. Beeman was born March 4, 1937, in Meridian, Mississippi, one of seven children to the late John Ivy and Ora Rhodes Beeman.  He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Marine Corps for ten years retiring as Staff Sergeant.  Mr. Beeman was an active member of the VFW Post 1860 in Front Royal for many years and served as a former Commander and was a current member of the Shenandoah American Legion Post 77, Strasburg, VA.
He and his wife were the owners and operators of Rocky Lane Grocery on Route 340 south of Front Royal for 27 years.  His wife of 44 years, Mary Jane Beeman, predeceased him in December 2005.
Mr. Beeman had a lifelong pursuit of knowledge and there wasn’t a topic in which he couldn’t converse.  His conversations could span physics, astronomy, gardening, automobile manufacturing, and anything and everything in between.  His career in electronics had many opportunities including working at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD supporting several space programs.
He is survived by his son, Ralph C. Beeman of Lexington, KY; four daughters: Melissa Beeman Gildea and husband Michael, their two sons Eyon Lewis (wife Lauren) of Herndon, VA and Ian Gildea of Norfolk, VA,  Kay Lynette Beeman of Australia, Sharon Beeman Oakes and husband, Ricky, and their two daughters Hannah Scates (husband Booth) of Strasburg and Danielle Oakes of Front Royal, VA, Vega Beeman McMurray and her husband, Seth, and their four children Joseph Ziemer (wife Arielle) of Tempe, AZ, Jacob Ziemer of Fort Drum,  NY, Ryan McMurray and Jessica Ziemer of Strasburg, VA.  He is survived by four great grandchildren, who brought him immense joy along with his sister, Faye Miller and brother, Larry Beeman.

She was a graduate of Strasburg High School and a member of the Strasburg Women of the Moose and the Winchester Eagles.  Ruth survived cancer twice, had a love for her many dogs over the years, and was passionate about her baby blue 1964 Mercury Monterey convertible.
Survivors include her only daughter Trudy Kerr (Merle) of Strasburg, VA; her grandchildren Michael Kerr, William Hughes, and Summer Kerr and one great granddaughter Lylah Lynn Hughes along with her beloved dog Baby Doll.

Mr. Orndorff was born in Woodstock, VA on December 18, 1944, a son of the late Philip Arthur Orndorff, Sr. and the late Maggie May Good Orndorff.  He was a life member of the Round Hill Church of the Brethren where he served as a Trustee, member of the Church Board, Jr. High Sunday School teacher, member of the choir, and served as a member of the Cemetery Board.  The members of Round Hill COB dearly loved Squeaky.  Mr. Orndorff graduated from Strasburg High School and worked as a welding fabricator for Agritech for over 30 years and then worked for Shenandoah Memorial Hospital for 10 years.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers Jerry Orndorff, Jack A. Orndorff, Sr., and Curtis Lake; a nephew Jack A. Orndorff, Jr. and sisters in law Patricia Orndorff, and Mary Lake.
Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Gloria Jean Dellinger Orndorff; his two goddaughters Kim Spiker (Bill) and Holly Hodges (Jonathan); a brother Philip “Amos” Orndorff; sisters-in-law Janet Orndorff and Vallie Orndorff; brother-in-law Charles R. Dellinger (Pat) along with several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a host of friends who will miss him dearly.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her stepfather Walter Maslowski; father-in-law, Haven McDonald Wolfe, Sr., and a sister-in-law Cora Sue Wilson.
In addition to her husband and mother, Karen is survived by three spitfire children  Cathy Jean Wolfe (Cathy Stickley), Haven "Mac" McDonald Wolfe, III, Christina Dawn Edwards (Robert); six grandchildren Brooke Galvin (Bradley Wentz), Jordan Heberle, Dana Wolfe, Dakota Galvin, Nicholas Heberle, and  Haven Andrew "Drew" Wolfe; one great grandchild Kinsley Wentz; her siblings Raymond Horton and Donna Waters (Dennis); sisters-in-law Patricia Ewers (Tom), Wanda Jackson (Gary) and Brenda Jackson; her nieces and nephews Kimberly Wilson, Keith Wilson (Angie), and Hunter Waters.  Karen had a special love for Aunt Julia Jackson.
