He had recently built his own race car from scratch and was an avid race driver and fan. Known as the “Smokin Okie #38”, he invited Ivrie to the track and they were inseparable from then on. Larry could fabricate just about anything out of nothing, and he was very mechanically inclined. There weren't too many things he couldn’t figure out. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was always telling jokes. Larry and Ivrie moved to Oklahoma in 2007 to raise their children and be closer to family. At that time, he was a professional OTR driver, which he did for 7 years. After that, he got a local job at Airgas to be closer to home. He worked there for 8 years and was even the Regional Employee of the month until he was no longer able to work. He was met with debilitating health problems in his early 40’s. Even with all the pain and suffering he still persevered to continue working for the those 14 years. He rarely missed a day and prided himself on his work ethic. He even built another race car and raced the factory stock at Salina High banks Speedway until he was no longer physically able to continue. He then decided to live the HIPPEEE life ✌️ which included gardening, music festivals and concerts, spreading peace, love, and an awareness of the need for justice. He loved music and playing the guitar and had really expanded his skills the past few years ALONG with his guitar collection! He was blessed enough to also take several once in a lifetime family trips over the past 4 years. His final two years were incredibly difficult. He still managed to stay positive even through the relentless health problems and physical suffering. Dr. Stephen A. Letzig - June 25, 1951 - March 10, 2024

Departed: 03/10/2024 (Pryor)
Obituary Preview: Dr. Stephen Alan Letzig, DVM, 72, a longtime Pryor area veterinarian, passed away Sunday evening, March 10, 2024. He was born on June 25, 1951, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, to Paul A. and Marciadine M. (Biehler) Letzig. He was raised in his hometown and graduated high school in 1969. He attended Oklahoma State University for his undergrad and was accepted into Veterinary School, receiving his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree in 1976.
Upon graduation, he began working at the Pryor Veterinary Hospital and quickly became a partner in 1978. Dr. Letzig was one of the few veterinarians who worked at a mixed practice (small and large animal) and was particularly interested in small animals and cattle.
As a lifelong learner, he attended many Conferences through the Northeast Oklahoma Veterinary Association and Western States Conferences, never missing the annual conference in Las Vegas. His professional affiliations included the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Oklahoma Veterinary Medical Association, and the Northeast Oklahoma Veterinary Medical Association.
Dr. Letzig married the love of his life, Susan Neff, in 1972. They were married for 46 years before she passed away on September 24, 2018.
Dr. Letzig had a passion for work that was only surpassed by his love of God and his family. The only time he would slow down was to fish, and he always had access to someone's freshwater pond loaded with Crappies, Bass, or Catfish.
His garden was loved by many, as it was visible from the highway and was tenderly cared for and planned for multiple seasons, providing fresh vegetables and occasionally fruit throughout the year. The timing of family vacations was always last minute, and Branson became a staple and consistent tradition for the Letzig family.
