Schaff, age 72 of Montello, Wisconsin, passed away on Monday, April 11, 2022 with her loving husband Larry, holding her hand.  Sharon is survived by her beloved husband, Larry; little brother, Glen (Deb) Mikolajczyk; loving sister, Shiela (Fred) Albright; nieces, Megan (Aaron) Mikolajczyk, Callie (Caleb) Mikolajczyk; nephew, Scot Ryan (Kristin) Albright; great nieces, Holly & Beatrix Bowen; great nephew, Mick Bowen.  She is also survived by loving members of the Schaff family; Gary and Marcy Schaff, Mike and Linda Pawelka, Jerry and Susan Schaff; nieces and nephews, Laura and Peter Stretz, Andrew and Heidi Pawelka, TJ and Stacy Anguiano, Shannon Schaff and Clint Martinovich, Daniel Schaff and Leena Lou;  great nieces and nephews, Caleb and Hailey Pawelka, Juliana, Isabella, Angelina & Anguiano and Jocelyn Schaff, Colton & Aiden Martinovich.
Sharon was preceded in death by her father, Bernard M. Mikolajczyk, and mother, Virginia F. Mikolajczyk.  Sharon was the first-born child of three, and spent her childhood in West Allis helping to corral her younger siblings through their school years and summers.  Many summer days were spent at McCarty Park swimming pool and reading.
She graduated from Nathan Hale High School in 1967 and began her career as a keypunch operator moving up to Executive Secretary before she retired from P&H Harnischfeger.  Harnischfeger was a family tradition, dad Bernie was a Supervisor, little sister Shiela followed Sharon into the Purchasing Dept. and Shiela’s husband, Fred, also worked at P&H prior to forming his own company, Almon Inc.  After P&H, Sharon accepted a position in the Technical Writing Area of Almon Inc.
Sharon married the love of her life, Larry, an Army veteran from the Vietnam War, and a professional chef following his service at the VA in Milwaukee.   The two married on January 23, 2004, after a long friendship and courtship.  After retiring, they moved to Montello and built a house that Larry said Sharon made a home.  Sharon christened the area, “The Land of Squirrels” and loved the area wildlife and gardening.  In time, they brought mom, Ginny, to the area.  Sharon was a wonderful, attentive daughter who continuously checked in and helped her mom settle in to the north woods.  Larry was a great assist with this care, working part time as the nutritionist at Harris Villa Assisted Living where Ginny moved later her golden years.
They have been active with the Westfield VFW Post 8718.  Sharon has also spent many enjoyable summers golfing with good friends, and has been a member of a yoga group for many years and made many friends there.
Sharon was a generous and caring aunt to her nieces and nephew and she said she was happy to see them married.  Last summer she was so happy to make it to the wedding of Scot and Kristin in Mackinac. Her great niece called her “Auntie Strawberry” since she was a toddler, based on Sharon’s love of everything strawberry.  Her home has her strawberry motif throughout.   Sharon was an avid and talented knitter, who over the past 50 years has knit countless sweaters, scarves, hats, slipper socks, blankets, and afghans for family and friends.  She most recently completed a beautiful baby blanket for the future great nephew Cooper, arriving in May.  Sharon loved Christmas and being with her family at all gatherings.  She made every gift special, her hand made Christmas cards and Birthday cards were treasures.  Her family is so thankful to have had the past Christmas together.  We will miss her fabulous mashed potatoes, delicious banana fruit salad and corn casserole at future family gatherings.  We will miss her joyful laugh, and beautiful sense of humor, her generosity, and her wonderfully natural ability to take care of us all.
A visitation for Sharon will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2022 at New Beginnings Christian Community Church, W7220 County Rd. E, Westfield from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Terry Temanson officiating.  Burial will be in Sheldon Cemetery, Town of Harris.  A luncheon will be held following the burial back at the church.

Anthony Joseph Zaehringer - February 12, 1936 - March 24, 2022

Departed: 03/24/2022 (Westfield)
Obituary Preview: Anthony Joseph Zaehringer (Zähringer), age 86 of Westfield, WI, died in his bed surrounded by family on Thursday, March 24, 2022. He had been suffering from Alzheimer for the past few years. Although we all miss him, we find solace in the knowledge that he is at peace now in Heaven with all those that have gone before him and his beloved German Shepherds.
Anthony did not go by old fashion sentiment and social standards. His friends all called him Tony. He was quick to laugh and tell jokes like “What is Tony spelled backwards… Y NOT.”  If he liked you, you became family. If he didn’t, then you knew to keep your distance. He saw the world as black and white with only varying bits of gray. He took great pride in his family and protected them at all costs. He was a good son, a loyal brother, and a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Tony was born on February 12,1936 in the German area of Pardan in Banat, Yugoslovia to Anna (Feigl) and Johann Zähringer. While still not a teen, he and his family were tested beyond measure. During this time, Tony grew up very quickly, strengthened his resolve and became fiercely protective of his family. In 1956, Tony, along with his younger brother, Franz Joseph (Frank), and his parents immigrated to Iowa, via the Franz family sponsorship. Eventually, the family joined other family members in Chicago. Tony enlisted in the Army right after high school, earning his citizenship, along with structure and focus. He was part of the elite 10th Mountain Division, parashooting into enemy territories and completing many missions that are still to this day stamped classified. Tony was extremely proud of being an Army Veteran and wore an Army coat and hat to prove it.
Upon receiving honorable discharge, he worked for the Hertz Corporation where he met and married the love of his life, a then 19-year-old Karen Sue Hartz. After marrying, they settled in the north side of Chicago, raising two children, John and Heidi.  Later moving to the near western suburb of Westchester.
Tony held many jobs before forming Hartz Enterprises, Ltd. and becoming a successful entrepreneur.  The family enjoyed escaping to their vacation home in Westfield, Wisconsin where they hunted on their land and enjoyed many friendships. Later, Tony and Karen retired to Westfield to be closer to their daughter and their 3 grandchildren.
Tony is survived by his wife, Karen; his son, John (Joy); daughter, Heidi (Tom); four grandchildren, AJ Klapoetke (Courtney), Anna Galloway (Justan), Alexandra Klapoetke and Johnny Zaehringer; three great grandchildren, Jaxon and Alayna Galloway and Zoe Klapoetke. Tony is predeceased by his parents, Anna and Johann and his brother, Frank. A funeral service for Tony will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. at Steinhaus-Holly Funeral Home, 519 S. Charles St., Westfield with Father Savio Yerasani officiating.  A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service.  Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Town of Springfield (Westfield) with full military honors.  Immediately following, all are welcome to gather across the street at the Springfield Town Hall, W8094 Duck Creek Ave., for lunch and to celebrate Tony’s life. Along with refreshments, there will be an abundance of photos and memorabilia from Tony’s life journey to enjoy. This is not a solemn occasion but one of merriment because no one loved a party more than Tony did!
Please take a moment to view the online Tribute Wall.  Send your condolences or share a memory of Tony with his family & friends.

Scott Christopher Laurent - May 17, 1973 - March 21, 2022

Departed: 03/21/2022 (Westfield)
Obituary Preview: Scott Christopher Laurent, 48 of Westfield (formerly of Omro and Oshkosh) entered into his heavenly home surrounded by his family on Monday, March 21, 2022 at UW Hospital in Madison.
Scott was born on May 17, 1973 to Paul and Kathy Laurent in Oshkosh, WI.  Scott was raised in Oshkosh and graduated from Oshkosh West High School in 1991.  Scott attended Fox Valley Tech and UW Oshkosh where he met Amber Kemnitz and they were married on October 4, 1997 after Amber finished college. They lived in Oshkosh until 1999 when they bought their first home and moved to Omro; where they lived until 2021.  Together they raised 3 children, Emily, Bryanna and Brandon.  Scott was a family man in every sense of the word. He was a very active part of their lives, participating in all their extra-curricular activities and helping coach or whatever was needed as much as he could.  There wasn’t a dance competition, band concert, art night or sporting event he wasn’t part of to support them.  Scott was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis and in 2018 he relied on oxygen but despite his disability, he still made it to every event he could as the guy pulling oxygen tanks.  He had a great support system of friends and family to run back and forth getting more oxygen tanks so he could be where he wanted to be to support them.  When he couldn’t help coach, he became the treasurer of the Boy’s Youth Basketball program in Omro.  He loved watching all those kids grow up while giving them a hard time about whatever he could think of.
In June 2020, Scott was blessed to receive a much-needed lung transplant and considered every moment of his life from that point forward to be his “extra innings.”  Although he had struggles, he did his best to make the most of the time he had.  In July 2021, they moved to Westfield and bought a home in the woods among the birds and wildlife he loved to watch.
Scott loved baseball and played after high school with the Oshkosh Merchants, part of the Rock River Baseball League.  He still talked about the memories he had driving all over with that group of guys.  He also enjoyed hunting, camping, watching movies and taking family vacations.  Scott also enjoyed music; he listened to music of all genres and would embarrass his kids by playing steering wheel drums while driving them around.  His dog Winnie will miss the truck rides they took daily.  Scott was the most honest, genuine person you’d ever meet with a quirky sense of humor.  He loved to make people happy.
Scott is survived by his wife of 25 years, Amber; children, Emily (Alec) Baullosa, Bryanna and Brandon; his parents, Paul and Kathy Laurent; sisters, Lisa (Andy) Lloyd and Nicole (Kevin) McNiesh; mother-in-law, Debbie Kemnitz; brothers-in-law, Aric (Pauline) Kemnitz and Adam Kemnitz; sisters-in-law, Abby (Tyson) Swan and Alisa (Rich Kee) Kemnitz, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Norman Kemnitz and his grandparents.

William S. Boehm - December 07, 1949 - January 17, 2022

Departed: 01/17/2022 (Westfield)
Obituary Preview: William S. Boehm, age 72 of Montello, Wisconsin, passed away on Monday, January 17, 2022 at ThedaCare Medical Center in Waupaca. He was born on December 7, 1949, in Watertown, Wisconsin to Stuart and Beverly Boehm. He married his sweetheart Mary (Heinecke) on April 22, 1972, one month after returning from serving in the army in Vietnam. They were very happily married for almost 50 years. On Bill's van he had a "Just Married" sticker that he updated with the current number of years. His loving wife Mary, three children (Julie, Joe, and Becky) along with their respective spouses (Andrew, and Tomi), seven grandchildren, and one soon-to-arrive great grandson will greatly miss his big hugs and loving kisses.
Bill loved Jesus with all his heart. Everything he did was centered around telling others about his best friend Jesus.
Bill often said, "My life with Jesus has turned out better than I could have ever imagined it." He loved to read his Bible and share it with everyone he knew. He passionately studied the books of Daniel and Revelation, as his heart longed for the soon return of Christ his Savior. Bill was the greatest story teller, but all of his stories ended with turning people's minds to Jesus. Even his tax business, Columbia Bookkeeping, was all about sharing Jesus with others. Bill wrote in his Chistmas letter this year, "We believe that God is still working out His plan for everyone to have many opportunities to choose eternal life." Bill's heart's desire would be that when you hear God calling you, please choose Him today. Some day, very soon, the trumpet of God will sound, and Bill will be raised from his resting place. (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17) He will hear the words from Jesus, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant...enter thou into the joy of thy Lord." (Matthew 25:21)
According to the families wishes, no service will be held.

Departed: 12/30/2021 (Westfield)
Obituary Preview: William “Bugs” Moran passed away on Thursday, December 30, 2021, in his home in Westfield, WI, of natural causes beside his faithful dog, Skidgey. Most likely, he immediately started Heaven’s largest party when reuniting with his parents Teresa and Eugene “Skidge” Moran, brother Terry Moran, nephew Ryan Schults, and other friends who left us far too soon.
Bugs, Bugsy, Bill, Billy, Uncle Billy, Big Round Head…he went by many names, but was more notorious for nicknaming everyone around him.
Born in Ilion, NY on June 11, 1963, Bugs graduated from Ilion High School and soon after enlisted in the United States Air Force. The Air Force took Bugsy to many locations, including England, Germany, Louisiana, and Las Vegas. In his late 20s, Bugs moved to Milwaukee, WI where he tended bar with close friends, and met Nikki Lorenz. Together Bugs and Nikki raised their daughter, Cailey, in West Allis, WI, where Bugs resided until late 2020. Bugs then moved to Westfield with Skidgey, where he was welcomed with open arms by many new friends.
Bugs spent a large majority of his life enlisted in the military, between his active duty in the Air Force and his involvement in the Air National Guard. In addition to being employed by the ANG for many years, he eagerly deployed to locations like England, Guam, Hawaii, Turkey, and even Kuwait. He was most proud of his time spent as a First Sergeant. Bugs retired and was honorably discharged from the Air National Guard in 2014.
Aside from his dedicated military career, Bugs dreamed of a career in acting. He succeeded in landing a number of memorable local commercials, as well as a few national ads along the way. He also dedicated a lot of his time to singing and songwriting, even recording a CD of some of his original songs. Mostly, he enjoyed “laughing and joking and drinking all the way” with his countless friends all over the world.
In WI, Bugs was survived by his daughter, Cailey Moran; stepdaughter, Beth Kochinski and her husband Otto Rammer; grandchildren, Otto and Vivian; and longtime partner, Nikki Lorenz. In NY, Bugs was survived by his sister Colleen and her husband Robert Schults, sister Mary and her husband John Reitz, and niece Colleen and her husband Mark Olivella.
Please stop by to share memories, laugh, and enjoy a beer - Bugs wouldn't want it any other way! Some food and drinks will be provided. Please reach out to Cailey Moran, Bugs' daughter, if you have any questions! Hope to see you there.

Patricia Jolene Phillips - June 17, 1947 - December 21, 2021

Departed: 12/21/2021 (Westfield)
Obituary Preview: Patricia “Pat” Jolene Phillips, age 74, of Coloma, WI, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2021 at Theda Care Hospital in Wild Rose after a brief illness.
Pat was born June 17, 1947 in Sterling, IL to Edwin and Elizabeth (Darnell) Bowers, the oldest of 5 children.  At an early age their family moved to Coloma and farmed for many years.  Pat attended Coloma Grade School and Westfield High School, graduating in the Class of 1965.  It was in grade school where she met her future husband, William D. “Bill” Phillips.  They dated in high school, and they were united in marriage on July 23, 1966 in Chicago, IL.
After marriage, Pat & Bill settled in the Chicago area and started a family.  In 1978 they moved back to the Coloma area to be closer to other family members.  There, Pat started driving school bus for the Westfield School District (following in her father’s footsteps), and drove for the district for more than 36 years.  During that time, she safely delivered thousands of children to their destination, whether it was to school, back home, or on the countless field trips or sporting event trips she drove for.  Pat took great pride in her bus driving abilities and enjoyed being able to get to personally know many of the students that she drove for, both during their school years and after graduation.
Pat was involved in the Montello Racing Pigeon Club, and was the first female member of the group.  After she stopped racing pigeons, she continued to drive the pigeons to their race release destinations for 30+ years.  These trips used to take her to many different Midwest locations, including trips as far away as Topeka, KS.  There were many times where she left in the afternoon or evening before race-day and would drive all night in a pickup truck and modified 5th wheel horse trailer to get to the morning release point.  There, she would make sure the pigeons were all taken care of and given water prior to release, and then sent them on their way to race back home.
Pat enjoyed gardening, raising chickens, and making sure her numerous bird feeders were full.  There were always many types of birds that would visit the feeders, and she knew the name of every type of bird that came to eat.  Pat volunteered time during the PBS Wisconsin Garden & Landscape Expo when she was able to.  She was also a cat and dog lover; no stray cat was ever turned away and was always fed.  Some of the dogs that she and Bill had as pets were rescued from less fortunate circumstances.  She loved every one of them.
Pat is survived by her husband of 55 years, Bill.  She is also survived by her son, Bill (Cindy) Phillips; her daughter, Christine Phillips; her brothers, Jim (Dee) Bowers, Bob (Sandy) Bowers, & Mike (Laurie) Bowers; her grandchildren, Brittney (Amanda) Ahles-Zuehlke, Danielle (Christian) Nielsen, Alicia Zuehlke; her “adopted” grandchildren, Sophia & Christian Heo; her great-grandchildren, Christian “CJ”, Payton and Sawyer; and numerous nieces & nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Mary Bowers; and sister-in-law, Diana Bowers.
