As a mother, her love knew no bounds. She nurtured and cared for Mark (Kimberly) Falck and Kimberly Curtis. She was a bonus mother to Laura Geske and Douglas (Trisha) Ripperger with unwavering devotion. Her legacy lives on in her grandchildren: Justin (Leah) Falck, Chelsea (Kyle) Wolfinger, Alex Falck, Matthew Curtis, Rachel (Corey) Harris, and Julia, Henry, and George Ripperger. Her great-grandchildren, Mallory, Noah, Peyton, and Nolan were the apples of her eye.
Marina’s love extended beyond her family to her cherished pets, Bowie and Casper. She was not just their owner, but their loving fur-mother. Her brother, Gerald Wood, and sister, the late Brenda Bartoli, shared many precious memories with her.

He is also survived by his siblings, Joan Stevens and Ron (Ellen) Goebel. He was born September 30, 1940, to the late Arnold and Berna Goebel.
Tom was an esteemed alumnus of Deer Park High School and served his country with honor as a U.S. Army Veteran. His life was marked by dedication to his family and service to his country. He was blessed with a talent in taxidermy. Hunting and fishing were a fond pastime of his but through his genuine actions spending time with his family was his favorite of all.
Visitation will commence from 11:00 am, leading up to the funeral service at 12:00 Noon. The service will be held at Staley – Strawser Funeral Home, located at 7140 Plainfield Rd, Deer Park, OH 45236, on Wednesday, April 24, 2024. Final resting will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery.

She was also a great-grandmother to Aiden Lay, Dominic Merriweather, Gunner Reeves, Spencer Reeves, Elliott Reeves, Parker Reeves, and Brayden Yorty, and a great-great-grandmother to Ariana Lay and Abel Lay. Born on July 25, 1938, to the late William and Jewel Kripp, Mary was preceded in death by her sibling, Pauline Childers. She was a parishioner of St. John Catholic Church in Deer Park and a loving fur mom to her companion pet dog, Lucy.

Carl J. Stich, Sr. - February 08, 1931 - February 07, 2024

Obituary Preview: Carl Stich Sr. passed away on Wednesday, February 7, one day shy of his 93rd birthday.  He was born in Louisville, Kentucky on February 8, 1931, to Gertrude (Badgett) and Herman Stich.  In 1951 he had the good fortune to marry Mildred (Millie) Oliva. He began his career with Otis Elevator while in Louisville and was transferred to Lexington in 1968 to serve as the Otis local representative.
After retirement in 1987 he continued work on the couple’s vacation home at Elk Lake Shores in Owenton, Kentucky.  They moved there full-time several years later.  Carl became active as a board member and administrator of the Elk Shores Homeowners’ Association.  In 2001 they returned to Louisville, where they remained until moving to Cincinnati, Ohio, in 2022.
Carl was an avid outdoors man, but he sacrificed much of his spare time to helping others.  He was a caregiver to family members and a Mr. Fix-it to friends and neighbors.  He will be remembered for his keen mind, sense of humor, and most of all his kindness.  He was always happiest when he had a project, most of which involved building or fixing something for others.
Carl and Millie raised two sons.  Frank and his wife, Denise, live in San Diego.  Carl Jr. and his wife, Amy Banister, live in Cincinnati. Frank’s daughter, Sarah Stewart, currently lives in Nashville.  Sarah was an enduring joy to her grandfather, and he spoke often of the wonder years they spent together at Elk Lake. He is also survived by his brother, Arthur Stich and Art’s wife, Joyce, of Florida. Although separated by distance in their adult years, Carl and Art maintained a close brotherly bond.
By far the greatest joy in Carl’s life was his loving wife, Millie, who survives him.  Throughout their 72+ years of marriage they shared a mutual devotion that grew stronger with time.  Their legacy of love and caring will never be forgotten. The father of her three children, Gordon A. Vetorino remains. She was blessed with grand daughters Katie Vetorino Heath (Scott), Jessica Choate and Sarah Vetorino. Her sister Joan preceded her in death. She was a devoted aunt to Molly O’ Shaughnessy, and children Ryan and Maddie; and Chris McKeown, and children Caroline and Courtney.
She will be remembered, first and foremost for the love she had for her family. She always put them first before herself. She was a great listener with an ornery sense of humor. For years, she had a reputation for giving a great haircut. Her Catholic faith had a strong influence on her life.

He was a crypto and Radioman (RM) in the Navy during the Korean War, engineer and project manager at AT&T, union representative, councilman, raconteur, community activist, and park steward. He was kind, intelligent, caring, and talented.
He threw snowballs with his daughters and grandsons, taught them the rules of baseball but also showed them how to change a tire, how all of the parts of radios, phones, and car engines worked, and taught them critical thinking.
He was a dedicated public servant, unafraid to stand up for what he believed was right. He was presented with the keys to the city of Deer Park in 2022 for his years of service and benevolent actions for the community.
He is survived by his loving companion, Janet Orme; daughters, Catherine (Greg Kessler) and Eileen (Andy Snethen); and his grandsons, James and David. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Ellen Lenihan and his brother, Robert.
