Marion Mayer - June 04, 1934 - December 21, 2022

Departed: 12/21/2022 (Spring Hill)
Obituary Preview: Marion C. Mayer June 4, 1934 - December 21, 2022 Obituary Marion Ceceil Mayer, age 88, passed away on December 21, 2022 at her home in Spring Hill, Tennessee. She was born on June 4th, 1934. She was the daughter of Clara Vincent (Hiar) and father, David Vincent who died when she was very young. She had 3 brothers from the same father and 3 half sisters and 1 half brother from her stepfather. Marion Mayer (Vincent) married James Mayer in Sault Saint Marie, Michigan on June 24, 1950 who served in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and was a Veteran of the Korean War. Together they had 7 children; 5 boys and 2 girls. Marion was a loving mother to her children and grandchildren. She had a strong faith as a Catholic that loved the Holy Trinity along with the Blessed Mother. She believed in saying the Rosary every night. Marion enjoyed going to mass on Sunday’s at Saint Philip’s Catholic church. She loved going on nature drives, listening to the birds (Cardinals and Mocking Birds) sing in the morning, having picnics, going on boat rides and fishing with her family. She enjoyed listening to her son-in-law, Earl sing big band music and granddaughter, Melissa sing and grandson, Duane play the guitar. Her favorite music she loved listening to was Hauser who is a cello player and Calum Scott who sang, ‘You Are the Reason.’ She also loved country singers, Tammy Wynette, Loretta Lynn, Johnny Cash, and Elvis Presley. She was a painter who painted beautiful sceneries of cabins near the water surrounded by nature and flowers. She loved playing Bingo so she could win a prize. In her earlier years, she worked as a manager at a group home for the elderly and mentally ill patients who loved her dearly. Marion is survived by her four sons: Steven (Bonny) Mayer of Winneconne, WI; Mark Mayer of Milwaukee, WI; Gary (Deb) Mayer of Franklin, WI and Paul Mayer of Nevada; two daughters, Christine Mathes (Earl) of Spring Hill, TN, and Tina Mayer-Fortuna (Joseph) of Washington, MI; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Verna Perkins of Enterprise, Alabama, and Lois Hiar, of Sault Saint Marie, MI; her brother, Roy Vincent, and 3 sister-in-laws; Sister Mary Alma Mayer of Milwaukee, WI; Katherine Coffman of Mesa, Arizona; Janet Wieber of Houghton, MI; one brother-in-law, Rolland (Joanne) Mayer of Sault Ste. Marie, MI and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; David Vincent and Clara Hiar; her son, Daniel Joseph Mayer; her two grandchildren, Danny Mayer (Tina’s son) and Lacey Mathes (Christine’s daughter); her sisters, Dorothy May Hiar and Joetta Hiar; her brothers, Floyd Hiar, Clarence and David Vincent. Marion remained steadfast in her Catholic faith until her final day. God has welcomed her home. Marion, we will see you again one day. Until then, my Love. Plans for Marion's Celebration into Heaven will take place in the Summer of 2023 and will be announced to family and friends. We are planning to have one of the priests from St. Joseph’s Catholic Church perform the mass in honor of Marion with a celebration of her birth into Heaven afterwards. Anyone attending the mass and the gathering afterward, please message Christine Mathes at 615-554-0460 or Tina Mayer-Fortuna at 586-615-0794 so we can get a count of all that attend. God saw she was getting tired, and a cure was not to be. So He put His arms around her and whispered. “Come with Me.” With tearful eyes you watched her suffer, and saw her slowly fade away. Although you loved her dearly, you could not make her stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands put to rest. God broke your hearts to prove to you, He only takes the best. Please pray for Marion’s soul. Rest in Peace my Love. May God Bless you ALL. I’m Free Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free I’m following the path God laid for me. I took his hand when I heard Him call; I turned my back, and left it all. I could not stay another day, To laugh, to love, to work or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way; I found that place at the close of the day. If my parting has left a void, Then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss; Ah yes, these things, I too will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My life’s been full, I savored much; Good friends, good times, a loved one’s touch. Perhaps my time seems all to brief; Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your heart and share with me, God wanted me now, He set me free.

Obituary Preview: Charles Lee Bailey, age 54 of Thompson Station, TN passed away December 13, 2022. Charles was born in Wilmington, OH to his parents Lee and Pam Bailey. In addition to his parents, he leaves behind his wife Susan Bailey; daughter, Carlee Bailey; son, Colton (Kathryn) Bailey; brother, Scott (Leigh Anne) Bailey; nephew, Blake Bailey; niece, Grayson Bailey; beloved dogs, Honey, Jett and Joey; and countless other family and friends.
Chuck was dedicated to serving everyone that he came in contact with. First and foremost was his family. His wife, daughter, son and daughter-in-law never doubted his tremendous love for them. His acts of kindness were in every move that he made. He loved his parents, brother, sister-in-law, niece and nephew with the same fierceness.  His role as dad, son, brother and uncle brought him tremendous joy. The rest of his family were also so loved by him.
If you met Chuck, you had a new friend. He would learn about your life, tell you some stories of his own, and, from that moment on,  he would care for you.  Going to the grocery store was a long event for Chuck, because he had to hug everyone and catch up on their lives. Chuck had a servant’s heart, so  being his friend was an incredible blessing.
The most important part of Chuck's life was his service to God. He served as a pastor, counselor and teacher to many. His goal was to shine the light of Jesus to everyone, and he met that goal every single day of his life. If anyone needed him, he was there.
Chuck had inherited the gift of storytelling. It was his way of sharing his life. You could hear what was important to him in those stories, from family, friends, and the faithfulness of God.
He will be missed by all, for there will never be another like him. Everyone was touched in some way by his kindness and generosity. The heart of this servant will never die, because the memory of his good works will linger forever.
