The couple enjoyed a lifelong group of close friends and extensive travel. Ed's greatest joy was time spent at the beloved family farm in Indiana. A day spent mowing (or any manner of physical labor) along side his Dad, and later his kids and grandkids, was a perfect day. Ed made the world a better place and he will be deeply missed. When the meetings transferred to Zoom, the friends were always encouraged by his eager participation even when his health made it difficult for him to speak. He often kept his camera on so that he could enjoy an interchange of encouragement with the friends.Robby has always had a very calm and peaceful disposition. He was never known to argue and was very easy to get along with. As his health declined, he expressed his personal confidence in the Bible's promise of a resurrection in the new world where he will be able to live the life that Jehovah intended for him with perfect health enjoying life to the fullest.During this time, Robby would not want us to be sad. He would want us to live our lives in a way that will make it possible for us to enjoy spending time with him forever in God's righteous new world.

Obituary Preview: Vinay Kumar Satyal departed this life on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, of natural causes, peacefully in his sleep, at his home in Fairfield, Ohio. He was the elder son of the late Pishori Lal Satyal and Shakuntala Chandidas Satyal, both of Punjab.Vinay Satyal was born in Naushera, in undivided India, on November 12, 1944. From a young age, he valued the bonds of family above all else. He was an inspiring guide and proud mentor to his younger brother, Vimal, and was profoundly affected by the untimely passing of his mother when he was only twelve. He spent his formative years in Mumbai (forever "Bombay" to him) and worked as a young man at the Income Tax Department and Hindustan Lever, showing an aptitude for business that he carried throughout his life.During his peripatetic childhood (his father was in the Indian Army), he lived next to, befriended, and fell madly for the love of his life-his wife of over half a century, Lalita Bali. He adored recounting the story of how once, when she was sitting for an exam at school, he dressed up as a proctor to pass her a love note. Lalita preceded him in immigrating to the United States in 1970 to earn her second Master's degree (Arts in Teaching) at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. She flew back to Bombay to tie the knot with her beloved Vinay on August 26, 1972. He followed her to the States in 1973, also attending Miami University to obtain his second degree (a B.S. in Marketing) in 1976. They would both stay in touch with their "Oxford Crew" for a lifetime.They then moved to Hamilton, Ohio, where Lalita taught in the public school system while Vinay worked as a manager at a local Wendy's restaurant after going through the training program taught by the chain's legendary founder, Dave Thomas. Forever observant and fastidious-Vinay's numerous filing cabinets and binders at home became the stuff of legend, and were duly overstuffed-he excelled at this managerial job, often speaking of it as an exemplary basis for organization and accountability. Until his passing, he cherished having a meal in Wendy's restaurants or on the go, as he navigated from memory the complicated streets and topography of Greater Cincinnati.Vinay's eldest son, Rajiv, was born in 1976 at Fort Hamilton Hughes Hospital in Hamilton. In 1979, the family moved to their permanent seat of Fairfield, Ohio, and in 1980, his twin sons, Rakesh and Vikas, were born at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati. Around 1979, he began his longtime sales career for General Mills, Inc., a job he performed with his usual enthusiasm and attention to detail and for which he felt fierce brand loyalty: as evidenced by his ardor for the sports of tennis and cricket - he was also a Cincinnati Bengals obsessive - he enjoyed a bit of friendly rivalry and often jokingly disdained the purchase of Kellogg's products by his perennially sugar-addicted children. He retired from Big G in 2009.This fall was to mark his 30th year of volunteering at what is now known as the Western & Southern Open in Cincinnati, progressing from ticket taker to usher to security marshal, often escorting the world's top tennis players to and from the court. In fact, he taught his sons to play tennis: his favorite advice to dispense was "Hit the ball hard," words he took very much to heart every time he sent his customarily thunderous serve down the court. For many years, he was part of dedicated teams of players at Riverside Racquet Club and Mercy HealthPlex, both of which treasured him for his good humor and his perpetual spirit of collaboration.For the past two decades, besides his family, the thing that he adored most was his work at the local Cincinnati public access radio station, WAIF 88.3 FM, and his duties as board member and founder of its weekly Saturday program, Bollywood Music & Masala. During his three-hour broadcasts, he played a breadth of Indian melodies - from time-honored classics to songs that had been released mere days prior - that would have bowled over any serious historian of popular music.Vivacious, sonorous, witty, and emotive, he gave voice to the local Indian American population - of which he was no doubt a pillar - and came to embody some of the principles he valued most - artistic appreciation, a sense of community care, and the fun that could be had in everyday moments.His grandson, Naveen - son of his eldest son, Rajiv - was born in 2021, and the two of them quickly formed a deep bond that was evident to all who were lucky enough to witness them together. It was often difficult to tell which one was more childlike. As someone who took every opportunity to champion every single one of his children's accomplishments - the most prominent recurring segment of his radio broadcasts was the frequent mentions he made of such things on-air - he brought to the role of grandfather a lifetime's worth of wisdom, wonder, and care.Above all else, Vinay was a collector of memories. He had an encyclopedic knowledge of Indian, American, and World history, not only of the nations at large but also of his own ancestral lineage. When he wasn't busy taking one of his numerous photos of everyone and everything, he was reminiscing about a bygone era and regaling those close to him and indeed any passersby with tales containing a spectacular amount of specificity. A devoted Hindu, he tried to approach all of his activities with integrity, reverence, and respect.Vinay Satyal was preceded in death by his parents, Pishori Lal Satyal and Shakuntala Chandidas Satyal. He was the eldest of seven children born to the late Richard Benjamin Showes, Sr. and Camille (Miller) Showes in Cincinnati, Ohio on May 23, 1938.At the age of twelve years old, Richard accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized by the late Rev. J.D. Jenkins at Corinthian Baptist Church on Wehrman Avenue, Avondale, Ohio. He was a dedicated and faithful member of his church and served faithfully under his current pastor, Rev. K.Z. Smith. He loved the fellowship of its fellow members in Christ. Corinthian's 8:00 morning service was Richard's time to worship ( he said, "I'm comfortable wearing my jeans.") until his declining health prevented him from doing so. Richard missed those times so much.Richard and Lola Covington were united in Holy Matrimony in Cincinnati, Ohio. Through their union, they were blessed with three sons: Keith, Roger Benjamin and Ron Anthony. In 1982 Richard married Montene Jones and from their union, he was blessed with an extended family with the addition of two children; Tracy Renee' and Kenneth Rachon Burton."Mackie" attended Hughes High School and was gifted with the skills and craft of automotive technology. His love and passion was for his sons, family golfing, car racing and he was a loyal Cincinnati Bengals fan. At an early age, he and his brother Steve built their own gocart and entered into the Soap Box Derby at Eden Park, Cincinnati, Ohio.As a young man Richard was employed at Hocks Buick in Avondale. Later, he worked at various auto body shops: Mike's Body Shop, Bob Meyer in Lockland, Ohio., Camp's Body Shop in Evanston to hone his skills and knowledge. Richard retired from Randy Lane's Body Shop in Harrison, Ohio in 2001. "Mackie" aided in setting a milestone for African-American men in the automotive restoration industry. He tutored many young men, Black and White, in a craft that was hands-on, a trade. Obituary Preview: Stanley George Rahm, 87, of Cincinnati, died Sunday, May 5, 2024. He was born January 26, 1937, in Cincinnati, OH, the son of the late Stanley and Mildred (Vincent) Rahm.Stanley was born the day the Ohio River crested at 79.99 feet during the flood of 1937, and hence picked up the nickname of "Flood Bud". He spent his entire life living in Sayler Park, except for a 3-year stint in the US Army, which took him to Missouri, Georgia, and Germany. He met, fell in love with and married Florence Smith on June 21, 1958, while stationed at Fort Benning, in Columbus, GA. Stanley was active in the community as a member of the Community Memorial Center and Supervisor of District 17 Knothole Baseball. Obituary Preview: Lila Davis was called to her rest by our Lord on May 5, 2024. Lila was born August 20, 1924, in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was the fifth of eight children born to Roosevelt and Ida Farah (Nicholson) Padgett Sr. Both parents and her seven siblings {Eugene, Roosevelt (Ted) Jr., Herbert, Ernest, Ruth, Marye, and Dorothy along with all of their spouses} proceeded her in death.Lila grew up in a Christian home. She attended the first Shiloh Academy established by Elder Fred C. Phipps Sr., at the Wesley Ave., church in Cincinnati. Lila along with Malita Phipps and Cleveland Wells were in the first graduating class. After graduating high school, she attended Oakwood College in Huntsville Alabama for one year. Lila learned to play the piano and sang with the Choraliers under the direction of Mr. Joe Ward at Shiloh Seventh Day Adventist Church in Cincinnati.Lila met Freeman Davis, an Adventist minister, in 1944, when he requested, she come to Covington, Kentucky, to play piano for his church services. From this association they formed a mutual and growing relationship. In July of 1946, Freeman and Lila married. To this union were born three children, Verona (1947), Alicia (1948) and Freeman (1950). Her husband's pastoral career afforded Lila the opportunity to move around the Eastern and Southern states. Lila spent the majority of her adult married life as a homemaker, mother, pastor's wife and traveling companion until his death on March 9, 2000.Living another twenty-four years, she cared for family members, traveling to visit her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was afforded the opportunity to travel to the Holy Land with her son and daughter -in- law, Olga.Lila brought sunshine with her smile into the lives of those she met and engaged in sharing her scriptural beliefs and trusted faith in God. She diligently studied her Bible lessons daily so she could continue sharing inspirational thoughts with those she encountered.Music especially spirituals were constantly a part of her life. She loved singing solos, playing the piano and organ for church services.Cherishing her memory are three loving children Verona Davis of Cincinnati, Ohio, Alicia Smith of Leesburg, Florida, and Freeman M. She was born October 17, 1943, to the late Bill and Catherine (nee Fries) Vollmer. Also preceded in death by her brother Jack Leonard Vollmer.Kitchie is survived by her husband of 58 years, Richard. She was a loving mother to Michael Wagner and Cara Hester. Kitchie is also survived by her adoring grandchildren Alyse Peck, William and Grant Hester, as well as her dear cousin Donald Schott (Margaret), sister-in-law JoAnn Gay (Steve) and numerous nieces and nephews.Growing up, Kitchie and her family lived in Montfort Heights and were members of Montfort Heights United Methodist Church. She attended Montfort Heights elementary school and participated in CYO softball at St. Ignatius. She went on to attend Western Hills High School where she met her high school sweetheart and future husband, Dick. She was active as the GAA sports editor, a member of the annual staff and earned a 3-year letter for Varsity Softball. Kitchie received her bachelor's degree in elementary education from Miami University, Ohio and went on to teach fourth grade at Bridgetown elementary school in the Oak Hills School District. Once she became a mother, Kitchie devoted her life as stay at home mom to Mike and Cara and remained active in their activities. She served at the Oak Hills Swim and Racquet Club as swim and tennis team mom and enjoyed the many relationships she made with her friends and their children. In her free time, she enjoyed golf and tennis and was a master at making her world-famous lasagna! Her happy place was their annual family summer vacations spent in the Harbor Springs area and ski trips to Boyne Highlands. Some of her favorite things were blue herons, which often visited the lake behind their home in Penfield, NY, enjoying conversations with her neighbors and mastering crossword puzzles. Her grandchildren were her most prized possessions and she enjoyed watching them compete in their activities. She spent countless hours on the sidelines cheering on the Oak Hills Seadragons, St. Antoninus Jaguars and St. Xavier Bombers. Kitchie was a wonderful friend to all and cherished her family and friendships through the years. She knew the importance of maintaining those friendships and was always up for a two-hour long phone conversation to stay in touch with those she loved. Through Dick and Kitchie's 58-year marriage they moved from their home in Cincinnati in 1989 to Rochester, NY and then to Canton, MI in 1997. They arrived back home in Cincinnati to enjoy retirement near family in 2015 and reside in the Monte Vista community where they have made many new friends.We would like to thank Hospice of Cincinnati for your thoughtful care for Kitchie during her brief illness and for the support of her family. She served the Lord at Pilgrim United Church of Christ, the church her parents had attended. She was a member of the church, volunteering for many years as the church treasurer. Her lifelong passion for sewing was kindled by her mother and resulted in her creating a successful machine embroidery and sewing business.Through her friend and his sister, she was introduced to Joe, the man who became her husband and the love of her life, her rock. They married on September 24, 1983, recently celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary. Together they created a loving family, having two daughters and adding many cats through the years. During her final illness, a young man asked for their blessing to marry their younger daughter. In Pam's hospital room, Fran married Tio Futrell wearing the dress and veil her mother had made for her own wedding 40 years ago.Pam loved sewing, cats, walks in the woods, art and going to new places, but mostly she loved Joe, Claire, Fran and Tio. She will be missed very dearly by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

She was the youngest of five children, three of which preceded her in death. Brothers, William and Robert Brumfield and her only sister Mrs. Carrie Lee Lemons (Gillian).Bonnie accepted Christ in her life at an early age. Bonnie had a heart as big as the world. In her younger days she was a member of a woman's softball fast pitch team where they won multiple championships. She was an awesome player. Bonnie was always a giving person. She worked in Heavy's Restaurant, first on Court Street, then on Linn Street, where she cooked and served food. If you came in hungry and didn't have money, she fed you anyway.Bonnie loved her family and couldn't wait for them to get together. She was always the fun Aunt that would do anything for her nieces and nephews, even the great ones. She was a very giving mother and grandmother as well. She made sure that they wanted for nothing.Bonnie graduated from Robert A. Taft High School in 1958. Bonnie worked for Saturday Knight LTD. Where she was always getting perfect attendance and a small bonus at the banquets. She retired from there in her early seventies.Bonnie had two sons, one that preceded her in death in February, Rodney Brumfield, Jr. Bonnie leaves to cherish her memory, son, Brian Brumfield; brother, Moses Brumfield, Jr.; sister-in-law, Carolyn Welch; grandchildren, Brian Brumfield, Jr., Rodney Brumfield, Jr., Laketo (Lanita) Jordan; great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

She went on to have a long career, over 40 years, at Resurrection school in Price Hill. She truly found her calling there. Besides having a long career there, she grew some of her strongest friendships.Patsy will be most remembered for her infectious smile and for her love of the Irish. She marched in the St. Patrick's Day parade since the beginning and it was so fitting for her to have a March birthday, she celebrated all month long. She will also be remembered for her love of life and her will to live it to the fullest. Patsy was always the life of the party. Even through all her pain and illness, she would put that smile on her face and mask how she felt inside. She was a true warrior and more so, a true shepherd of God.
