Born in Rock Hill Furnace, she was the daughter of the late Clair H. and Dorothy A. Miller Burdge. She was the wife of Richard V. “Dick” Fazenbaker. They would have been married for 53 years on May 22.
Erma was a member of West Green Tree Church of the Brethren in Elizabethtown. Prior to retiring, she was employed for 22 years as a machine operator by AMP.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children, Paul L. Fazenbaker, husband of David M. Stroope of Abilene, TX, Betsy A., wife of Craig E. Peachey, of Elizabethtown, and Dori L. Fazenbaker of Lebanon; five grandchildren, Dane Peachey, Liza Peachey, Collin Peachey, Kiley Atkins, and Adam Andrews; and three siblings, Joanne M., wife of Sam Miller, of Calvin, Edward, husband of Eileen Burdge, of Toledo, OH, and Susan A. Brooks of Elizabethtown. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Audrey Bradnick, wife of the late Ronald Bradnick.

Paul made his home in San Francisco for over 50 years prior to returning to Lancaster County. He was employed by the Ralph Lauren organization working in a designer clothing warehouse. In addition to bicycling, Paul was an avid reader and enjoyed acquiring collectable books.
He is survived by six siblings, Nancy Stoltzfus of Lewisburg, Kenneth Erb of Denver, CO, J. Henry, husband of Peggy Erb, of Manheim, Janet Erb of Lancaster, Leroy, husband of Rachel Erb, of Milton, and Rebecca Sue, wife of Randy Reed, of North Carolina. Born in Corpus Christi, TX, she was the daughter of Dorothy Sweigart Kissinger of Tennessee and the late Glen Kissinger. She was the wife of Jack Nissley. They would have been married for 42 years on March 29.
In addition to being a homemaker, she enjoyed visiting casinos, crocheting, and helping with bingo at the AmVets, Post #19, in Lancaster.
In addition to her husband and mother, Denise is survived by four sons, Jack Nissley, Jr. of Manheim, Justin Nissley of Manheim, Christopher Nissley of York, and Daniel Nissley of Manheim; and four siblings, Glenn Kissinger, Betty Tidwell, Frank Kissinger, and Robert Kissinger.

Paul was a member of Heritage Baptist Church in Manheim. He was a car dealer for 50 years. He was the founder of Paul S. Shirk Fine Cars and remained involved in the business for 45 years. In addition to playing golf and tennis, he was an avid player and formidable opponent of checkers and chess. Paul was devoted to his wife and family and shared many good times with them.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Barry L., husband of Debra DeLuca Shirk, of Merrimack, NH, Robert G., husband of Lois J. Roland Shirk, of Leola, and John P., husband of Gloria D. Stoltzfus Shirk, of Elizabethtown; nine grandchildren, Jeffrey, William, Angela, Jonathan (Faith), Jared (Masha), Joshua (Kaylee), Josiah, Ryan, and Austin Shirk; two step granddaughters, Aimee and Rebecca Ham; and eight great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by six siblings, Walter Shirk, Harvey Shirk, Anna Mary Binkley, Alta Mae Good, Leroy Shirk, and Elmira Snader.

Doris was a charter member of Grace Community Church of Willow Street where she taught Sunday school, Bible school, and accompanied the junior choir. She was currently attending Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church in Lititz. She was a 1949 graduate of Manheim High School and a 1952 graduate of Lancaster General School of Nursing. She was employed as a staff nurse by Lancaster General Hospital for 17 years. In addition to volunteering at the Manheim Twp. Public Library, she enjoyed reading, playing piano, and flower gardening. She was very proud of her daughters and loved and cherished her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Cynthia L., wife of Robert Flynn, of Jackson, WY, Donna S., wife of Robert Daneker, Jr., of Allentown, and Diane L., wife of David Adams, of Lancaster; five grandchildren, Erin Lee, wife of Daniel Martin, Robert Paul, husband of Katie Daneker, Scott Isaac Daneker, Rachel Lauren, wife of Ben Corbran, and Derek Michael Adams; and two great grandchildren, Macie and Tucker Martin, with another great grandson due in the spring. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth G. Hollinger and her twin sister, Betty G. Brandt.

She was born February 17, 1934 in East Donegal Twp., near Mount Joy, to the late Joseph and Edna Miller Wolgemuth. She was the wife of Lloyd S Myers for almost 67 joyous years and would have celebrated on February 13.
She attended Donegal School, Mt Joy, and graduated from the former Messiah Academy in Grantham. Martha was a faithful member of Cross Roads Brethren in Christ Church in Mount Joy where she was known for her hospitality and served on many committees and activities. She was especially supportive of her husband who served as deacon and treasurer for many years. Martha was gifted at flower arranging, baking and decorating cakes, and crafting—many of which were generously gifted to those around her. She welcomed all into her home, where many enjoyed delicious meals and Christ-centered conversation. Her love for life and serving will be missed by all, especially her family.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children, Dennis (Diane Herr) Myers of Ronks, Douglas Myers of Phoenix, AZ, and Karen (Jeffrey) Lowe of Mount Joy; five grandchildren, Dean (Stephanie) Myers, Duane (Megan) Myers, Krystal (Michael) Lilavois, Kelly (Matthew) Fairbanks, and Kristen (Dylan) Roohr; five great grandchildren, Tate, Madison, & Ella Myers, Lincoln Lilavois, Colton Fairbanks and two on the way. Franklin Moore); three grandchildren, Danielle, Nicholas, and Garrett; three great grandchildren, Alexis, Michaela, and Rebecca; two great great grandchildren, Beatrice and Kramer; and a brother Roger G. Born and raised in East Hempfield Twp., she was the daughter of the late Ralph L. and Carrie E. Conlon Greenly. She was the wife of Charles R. Watts for 60 years last March 12.
Dawn was a faithful member of Etown Grace where she and her husband served as deacons, and Sunday School secretary, coordinator of the Senior Saints group, provided meals to those in need, ministered to shut-ins, and lent her help in the nursery and kitchen. In addition to being a homemaker, she was employed for several years by Baum’s Bologna in Elizabethtown.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughters, Brenda Keefer, wife of Scott, Manheim and their two daughters, son-in-law, and grandson; and Penny Whitehead, wife of Bob, Columbia and their daughter, son-in-law, and grandson. Also surviving are two siblings, Ken Greenly, husband of Millie, and Lorraine Rimert, all of Elizabethtown. In addition, she was preceded in death by two siblings, Richard Rimert, Sr. and June Althoff.

Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Abner and Emma Ginder Ebersole and stepson of the late Anna Mae Ebersole. Married on November 24, 1972, he was the faithful husband of Melba J. Augsburger Ebersole for 47 years.
Jerry faithfully served at Erb Mennonite Church where he was a member. He graduated from Elizabethtown Area High School in 1967. He worked in the same warehouse in the Conewago Business Park outside of Elizabethtown for 48 years, but for various employers. He retired in March 2020 from Crowe Transportation.
Jerry enjoyed collecting and using vintage 2-cylinder John Deere tractors in the garden and on his small farm. Spending time at a cabin with family was always a highlight for him. Above all of those things though, he loved his family and took an interest in the lives of others. He loved laughing with family and friends.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Lindell J., wife of Wilmer E. Gehman, of Bowmansville, Dwilyn L., husband of Janelle M. Martin Ebersole, of Manheim, Daryl L., husband of Alisha N. Sangrey Ebersole, of Manheim, and Lanae J., wife of Laren D. Weaver, of Ephrata; 12 grandchildren; a step-sister, Brenda, wife of Ken Fisher, of Leola; and a sister-in-law, Jean, wife of George Hurst, of Lititz. He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Brayden Ebersole, and a brother, M. Dean Ebersole.

Born in Lebanon, she was the daughter of Dorothy M. “Dot” Miller Teahl of Palmyra and the late John E. Teahl. Brenda was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Walter Ray “Junior” Flory, Jr., on August 7, 2020.
Brenda possessed a strong Christian faith and was an active member of Mount Wilson Church of the Brethren in Lebanon. In addition to serving on various committees, she sang in the choir and enjoyed her role as a Sunday school teacher to the preschool children.
Although Brenda held various jobs after her children were older, her children appreciate her dedication to raising and caring for her family. Although, when grandchildren came along, they became her first priority. In addition to reading, sewing, and crocheting, she enjoyed being outdoors horseback riding, and camping. She also enjoyed decorating her home with American Southwest décor.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by six children, Melanie, wife of Quentin Leiberher, of Palmyra, Kyle, husband of Sherry Flory, of Bethel, April, wife of Steve Kreiser, of Palmyra, Vanessa, wife of Steve Kline, of Annville, Tasha, wife of Jon Slothour, of Manheim, and Steve, husband of Heidi Flory, of Hegins; 27 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and five siblings, Roxanne, wife of Leonard Seibert, of Palmyra, Sandy Teahl of Lebanon, Wendy, wife of Bradley Bordner, of Annville, Wanda, wife of Richard Hohm, of Warren, MI, and John, husband of Doris Teahl, of Annville.

Geoff was an active member of Christian Fellowship Church in New Holland and was a former member of Brandywine Valley Baptist Church. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from Kent State University. Prior to retiring in 1991, he had a 30-year career with Sun Oil Company (Sunoco) as a Purchasing Manager for resale commodities.
Geoff was a proud member of the Stuckley-Westcott Association which connects his American heritage to early English settlers. In addition to gardening and playing golf, he enjoyed collecting coins and antiques.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Peter W., husband of Terri Plazer, of Downingtown and parents of Jason and Joshua Plazer, and Beth Anne Bringle of Mechanicsville, MD, and mother of Benjamin and Abigail Bringle. He was also preceded in death by a brother, William A. Plazer.

Martha was a member of Westgate Baptist Church in Lancaster. Prior to her retirement, she was employed for 20 years by Pleasant View Retirement Community as a Certified Nurse's Assistant. In her younger years, she held jobs in various factories. Martha treasured her friends and remained in close contact with them.
She is survived by two sons, John P., Jr., husband of Jena Becker Herdwig, of East Petersburg, and James R. Herdwig of East Petersburg; two grandsons Ross W. Herdwig of Lancaster and Matthew B., husband of Loretta Roschel, of Shippensburg; three great granddaughters; a great great granddaughter; and a sister Margaret Vognetz of Watsontown. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Susan L. Roschel Kipp; and three siblings, Dorothy Koch, Thelma Allen, and George Fry.

Irvin Henry Brockman - January 08, 1935 - January 12, 2021

Obituary Preview: It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, Irvin Brockman, age 86, of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, on January 12, 2021, at home surrounded by his wife and family. Irvin was born January 8, 1935, in Humboldt, Saskatchewan, Canada, the son of the late Henry and Agnes Brockman.
He was the second of four children: Lois, Arnold (d 2017), and Jeanne Laxdal. Irvin grew up on the family farm and attended St. Peter’s College high school in nearby Muenster. He graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a degree in Physics Engineering in 1957. On September 7, 1957 he and Helen Lorraine (neé Schmidt) were married in Saskatoon, Sask. They moved to Toronto, then Windsor, Ontario where he taught and earned a Masters’ in Engineering at the University of Windsor. He also pursued postgraduate studies at Wayne State University in Detroit. From there, they moved to the U.S., first to Erie then to Harrisburg, where Irvin worked for AMP, Inc. as a research engineer for 35 years becoming the Manager of Contact Physics before retiring in 1999. Later Irvin was a founding Partner of Apex Electrical Interconnection Consultants.
Irvin was a patient and loving husband and father that was always involved in his children’s lives and activities. He was a skilled mechanic, carpenter, electrician, and electronics whiz. He could fix anything. He designed and helped construct our family home of 52 years. He was involved in coaching many youth sports. Most notably, he coached Hershey Youth Hockey and the second US team to win the Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament in 1976. Irvin was an avid gardener, Volkswagen aficionado and Sunday school teacher. He taught all his children to skate, play tennis, and was a very keen card player. During family holidays, Irvin loved playing Kaiser for hours with family.
Irvin is survived by his wife Lorraine, eight children and their spouses: Brian (Margaret), Daniel (Debra), Gerald (Jennifer), Lennard (Linda), Kathleen Sovay (Jon), Steven (Adriana), and Robert (Wendy) and Susan Cohen (Lee); 17 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces & nephews. He will always have a place in our hearts and minds, but he will be greatly missed.

Walker of Lititz, Jeffrey E. Walker of Manheim, John E. (Heidi H.) Walker of Manheim, Charlene A. (Michael A.) Spayd of Lancaster, and Craig S. Walker of Harrisburg. She also leaves behind the love and support from the Lititz community and her employer, Sauder’s Eggs.

Obituary Preview: Frederic E. Hoffman, 80, of Elizabethtown, PA, passed away on Tuesday morning, January 5, 2021 at Wellspan Ephrata Hospital due to complications of COVID just nine days after his wife passed away. Born in Lock Haven, he was the son of the late Walter L. and Sara U. Hoffman.
Fred graduated from Lock Haven High School where he lettered in football, track, and wrestling and received the Outstanding Athlete Award his senior year. He attended Syracuse University on a wrestling scholarship where he received a B.A. in Biology, an M.S. in Science Education and a PhD. in Population Genetics.
In 2000, Fred retired as Professor Emeritus from Elizabethtown College where he taught for 31 years in biology and science education. He enjoyed traveling, reading, fishing, gardening, bowling, and spending time with his family. He was an avid art collector obtaining many pieces during his travels abroad. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Mount Joy, where he served as Ruling Elder.
He is survived by two daughters, Karina Dussinger (wife of Craig Dussinger) of Stevens; Kiersten Marquart (wife of John Marquart) of Morgantown; three grandchildren: Ashton Marquart, Calum Marquart, and Erin Marquart; as well as a brother, Walter L. Hoffman, Jr., of Florida. He was predeceased in death by his wife of 55 years, Deborah Holmes Hoffman, on December 27, 2020; a son, Erik Jeffrey Hoffman; and two brothers, Charles W. Hoffman of Virginia, and Glenn U. Hoffman of Washington.

Donna was a faithful member of East Petersburg Mennonite Church. She was a 1981 graduate of Hempfield High School. Although Donna was employed for a number of years by S. Clyde Weaver in East Petersburg, her greater ambition was creating a home and caring for her husband and family. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and trips to the beach and the family cabins.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children, Benjamin M., husband of Chelsea L. Fasnacht Delp, of Manheim, Jonathan M., husband of Abigail R. Schlicher Delp, of Elizabethtown, and Sara D., wife of Anthony N. Ferrari, of Manheim; nine grandchildren; five siblings, Clarence, husband of Cynthia Denlinger, of Millersburg, OH, Clair, husband of Barb Denlinger, of Strasburg, Shirley Byers of Shippensburg, George, husband of Dawn Denlinger, of Ephrata, and Gerry Denlinger of Farmland, IN; and her mother-in-law, Joyce Delp of Lititz. She was also preceded in death by her father-in-law, Henry Delp.

Ron was a man of faith and was an active member of Manheim Grace Church where served as a former trustee, co-founded the AWANA program with Suzanne, and was involved in leading various other ministries for children over the years. After he graduated from Manheim Central High School in 1960, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged as Airman 2nd Class. He retired in 2006 as a sales representative for the former Conestoga Plumbing and Heating in Lancaster after a career of nearly 40 years.
Ron was a life member of the NRA and had a deep interest in the American west. He enjoyed western reenactments, cowboy shooting competitions, and collecting Old West memorabilia. His favorite cowboy was Hopalong Cassidy. Ron never wanted to draw attention to himself, but instead, cultivated a deep love for God, family, and country.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Claudette M. Snavely (Eric R. Gilbert) of Manheim and Troy L. Snavely (Dawn M. Holdridge) of Lititz; a daughter-in-law, Tammy L. Breniser Snavely of Mount Union; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and a sister, Judy A. Musser (Harold Z.) of Elizabethtown. He was also preceded in death by a son, Keith L. Snavely.

Brian had a interest in owning and restoring various muscle cars over the years. He also enjoyed different types of auto racing from driving micro midgets at the Clyde Martin Memorial Speedway in Brickerville, to watching sprint car and NASCAR races. His favorite drivers were Dale Earnhardt, Sr. and Dale Earnhart, Jr. He also enjoyed attending car shows. As a boy, he was involved in the scouting program and played football on a midget league and into high school.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Brooke A. Kaylor of Tamaqua; three siblings, Lois Jane Jones of Lancaster, Glenn E. Kaylor of Lancaster; and Caroll Ann Pennypacker of Lititz; and his father-in-law, Robert L. Rinier of Quarryville. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Jay M. Kaylor, and his mother-in-law, Irene Rinier.

After graduating from Altoona High School in 1942, she received training as a registered nurse at Altoona Hospital School of Nursing and graduated in 1945. During her nurse’s training, she was in the Cadet Corps, preparing to enlist as an Army nurse. However, the war ended and she instead began a nearly 30 year career as a registered nurse at Altoona Hospital. All she ever wanted to do was care for people and she did it well. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and friend. Always quick with a smile or a joke, she brought joy to those around her. She was a long time Phillies fan, enjoyed reading and playing 500 Rummy. She was well-loved and a blessing to every life she touched.
She is survived by her daughter, Ginette Isenberg and son-in law, Peter Cluck, of Manheim; two grandsons, Jonathan Cluck and his wife Nicole Cook, parents of great grandson Leo, of Philadelphia, and Alexander Cluck of Manheim.

Deborah was an active member of First Presbyterian Church in Mount Joy where she served as a deacon, Ruling Elder, Sunday school superintendent, church treasurer, and coordinator of the church’s 2nd Chances Thrift Shop.
In addition to her husband, Frederic E. Hoffman, of 55 years, she is survived by two daughters, Karina Dussinger (wife of Craig) of Stevens, and Kiersten Marquart (wife of John Marquart) of Morgantown; three grandchildren, Ashton Marquart, Calum Marquart, and Erin Marquart; as well as two brothers, Robert Holmes and David Holmes, both of San Diego, CA. He served his country in the United States Army Reserve and the local community as church councilman, election judge and Boy Scout leader. Bob earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Newark College of Engineering and pursued a master’s degree from the University of Maryland. He was employed by the National Security Agency in various technical and management positions including engineering, research, information technology, and installations and logistics. In 1985, he was conferred the rank of Meritorious Executive in the Senior Cryptologic Executive Service by President Ronald Reagan for sustained superior accomplishment in management of programs of the United States Government and for noteworthy achievement of quality and efficiency in the public service. He was awarded the Exceptional Civilian Service Award and medal in 1987 and retired from U.S. Government service in 1995 following assignment as Special US Liaison Officer- Canada.
In addition to an accomplished career, he led an active life of recreation. He was an avid racquetball and squash player, snow skier, bicyclist, and world traveler. At age 65, he climbed Mount Fuji, the highest mountain in Japan. He was also a skilled carpenter, auto mechanic and electrician.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Walter Arndt of Laurel, MD and Steffan Arndt, husband of Marcia Rogers Arndt, of Mount Airy, MD, parents of Colin and Emily Arndt and Brian Van Fossen, husband of Sarah Van Fossen, parents of three great-grandchildren, Lucas, Logan and Sydney Van Fossen.
