Obituary Preview: Vivian “Kay” Carroll, 72, passed away on Sunday May 28, 2023, at her home in Lee's Summit, after a long battle with cancer. She was born on November 27, 1950, in Popular Bluff, Missouri. Kay grew up in California until she was 19 years old, when she moved to Seattle and then back to Missouri where she met her husband, Steve. Steve and Kay were blessed to be together for 38 years. Kay was an amazing homemaker who was always working on projects and kept everything incredibly organized. She loved working outside and taking care of everyone. Kay and Steve spent most of their free time at her favorite place to work- the lake house, boating, and riding Wave runners. More than anything, she was an amazing mother and grandma. She loved playing with her four grandchildren in the basement so very much.
Kay is survived by her husband Steve, daughter Tracy, son-in-law Jon Jacque, grandchildren Jacquelynn, Jillian, Jordan, and Jon Jacque Jr. She is preceded in death by her father, mother, and stepfather.
A visitation will be held from 9-10:00 am on Thursday June 1, 2023, at Speaks Suburban Chapel (18020 E 39th Independence, MO 64055) with a service immediately following at 10:00am. She will be laid to rest at Floral Hills East Cemetery.

Obituary Preview: Shirley Dean Burks of Lees Summit MO. passed away Sat. May 27, 2023. Family will receive guests from 2-3pm on June 7th at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Memorial service will begin at 3pm.
Shirley was born on March 13, 1938 in Plato, Mo. to Homer Routh and Zilpha (Stockton) Routh, and has lived for the past 16 years at Wilshire Hills Apartments in Lees Summit, Mo. where she has developed many friendships. Shirley worked at several positions, all in service to others.
She has been preceded in death by her parents and 10 siblings.
She is survived by her two sons and their wives, Craig and Iva Shepherd, Harrisonville, Mo. and David and Therese Shepherd, Independence, Mo. as well as grandchildren, Bayli Shepherd Lees Summit, Mo., Collin Shepherd, Lees Summit, Mo. and Sean and Amber Rinehart, Independence, Mo. More than anything, Shirley loved her grandchildren. She also enjoyed gardening, road trips, country music, family gatherings that were accented by the sound of bluegrass instruments and vocals, visiting with friends and
simply being outside enjoying the warmth of the sun.

He was married to his wife and best friend, Robin, for thirty-seven years and together they had eight children, Grace (Kevin) Caraway, Andrea, Caleb (d. 2014) (Casey), Samuel (Veronica), Luke (Rebekah), Joy, Abigail (Shea) Stacy, and Elizabeth Anne (d. 1999) and was a proud Grandpa to Elizabeth and Knox. He is a beloved son of Patricia Looper and brother to Michael (Rosa) Dye, DW (Anita) Dye, and Joseph (Becky) Dye.
Patrick was born in Dallas, Texas and served in the United States Army, including a tour of duty in the Middle East during the Gulf War before graduating from Columbia Bible College & Seminary with a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies (1993), Master of Arts in Old Testament (1994), and a Master of Arts in Theological Studies (2014). He pastored, taught, and served the local community in Columbia, South Carolina until moving to Independence, Missouri in 2015. Patrick served as a deacon and found so much joy in working with the children of Sycamore Hills Baptist Church, leading a support group for fellow disabled veterans, and serving his family. He was passionate about the Gospel and deeply cared for others through generous, sacrificial service. He was a faithful husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

Obituary Preview: Joyce Ilene Carver, 89, passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at University Health Lakewood Care Center in Kansas City, Missouri. She was born in Omaha, Nebraska on January 10, 1934. She grew up primarily in Des Moines, Iowa and Independence, Missouri, graduating in 1951 from William Chrisman High School in Independence. She loved telling stories of her childhood, including seeing President Harry Truman walking the neighborhood of her youth.
Joyce married Clifford Henry Carver in 1951 and had four children. Joyce’s life was spent loving and caring for her family, friends and the children of her church communities, East Alton, Farview, Beacon Heights and Buckner Restoration. She was an incredible teacher, creating original puppet plays, flannel graph presentations, games, stories and poems for church camps, Vacation Bible Schools and Sunday School. She also supported her husband Cliff in his photography business, particularly when he was photographing in school settings.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents (William and Margaret Lidke), her sister (Gwendolyn Simmons) and her husband (Clifford) of fifty-five years. She is survived by her four children Michael (Patricia), Teri, Delaine (Darryl), Randall and by eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
A celebration of her life will be held 2pm Saturday, June 17 at Buckner Restoration Branch, 2607 N Twyman Rd, Independence, MO 64058.

Larry entered this world on April 23rd, 1949, in Kansas City, to the parents of Lucille and Gene Ballew. Larry served this country as a member of the US Air Force and Coast Guard. He was a lifetime Mason member, long-time sailor, member of the Jacomo Cruiser Fleet, Boy Scouts of America member and leader, and friend to many. Larry loved the outdoors, and he enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, and traveling with family and friends.
Larry leaves behind his loving wife Judy, and two sisters: Barbara Larson and Terri Steinberg; his two sons: Jeremy and Josh Ballew, along with their wives Sheena and Beth; and his grandkids: Amber, Marley, Bennett, Micah, Finnegan, and Harlow.
A visitation will be held at St. Mark Catholic Church of Independence where Larry was a member, on Saturday, June 17th starting at 9:00am with a Mass following at 11:00am.

Peggy Louise Cline, of Independence, Missouri passed away Saturday May 20, 2023. She was 84 years of age.
Peggy was born on November 28, 1938, in Independence, Missouri, the daughter of Wilbur Merle and Elizabeth Louise (Williams) Dickey.
She graduated from Northeast High School in the class of 1956. Peggy worked as a secretary for a bit while her first husband, Bill Minx, was in the Armed Forces and she held some part time administrative positions but primarily Peggy was homemaker and took great pride in that. After the passing of her husband Bill, Peggy met Don Cline and on February 27, 1976 they were wed in Oklahoma.
Peggy was a fantastic cook learning great skills from her grandmother. She and Don loved to take drives on back country roads and enjoyed the fresh air. Peggy loved the outdoors and going on walks and being in nature. She had great skills at hand sewing, needlepoint, and all types of handworks. She was a lover of all animals and was known to tame the feral of alley cats and train them to be loving house pets. A rescue home for many dogs too. Peggy had the biggest heart and will be missed by all who knew her.
Peggy is survived by her adopted daughter, Michele (Doug) Halenbeck; grandchild, Kathy (Brian) Eagan; great grandchildren, Rachael and Jonathan McCoy; Stepsons Kevin Cline of Washington and Dale Cline of Virginia. Her beloved cats, Samson and Delila (Cali). She was preceded in death by her parents Wilbur and Elizabeth Dickey; husbands, Bill Minx and Don Cline.
Cremation is planned with a Graveside Inurnment at Mt. Washington Cemetery in Independence, Missouri, taking place on Friday, June 2, 2023 at 11:00am.

Obituary Preview: Charles Edward Pence, previously of Blue Springs, MO, currently of Kansas City, MO, passed away Saturday May 20, 2023. He was 90 years old.
Charlie was born on May 5, 1933, the son of Charley and Ola Mae (Garrison) Pence, Sr. He had one younger brother, Jim Pence of Redland, CA. He married Mary F. Villines and had one daughter from that union. Later in life he remarried Otherine Wood Crawford. Charlie worked as a Superintendent in the Spare Parts division of Armco Steel Corp until retirement. After the passing of his wife Otherine in 2014, he moved with his daughter and became a member of Nashua Baptist Church. They were previously members of Emanuel Baptist Church of Independence, MO. There, Charlie taught an adult Sunday School Class for many years. As a younger man, he was also a Deacon & Sunday School teacher at the Blue Springs Assembly of God church in Blue Springs, MO. He was an avid outdoorsman. If the weather was good, he was somewhere fishing or hunting in his younger years. He had a passion for raising, training, and hunting his bird dogs, particularly Lewellen Setters. He enjoyed running his dogs in the Armco Steel Field Trials. He brought home several trophies with his best dogs, Chief and Cindy. Then, weather permitting, Charlie was gone fish’n. Crappie and Bass fishing were his favorites. But Fall weather found him hunting quail, pheasant, and an occasional deer. He loved anything outdoors including keeping his lawn looking like something out of a Better Homes & Garden Magazine. He didn’t talk a lot but tried to make what he said mean something. He loved his Lord, Family, friends, and country. He joined the Marine Corp in 1950 at the beginning of the Korean Conflict. Unfortunately, due to an accident during basic training he received a medical discharge. But he never lost interest in keeping up-to-date with what was going on in his country.
Charles is survived by his daughter, Charlene (Manuel) Lopez; grandson, Barak (Katie) Bratcher; stepdaughter, Melinda Beale; step grandchildren Gina DeForest and Bradley Beale; and step great grandchildren, Gavin DeForest, Madison, Jaxon & Myli Beale. He is preceded in death by both of his parents; brother Jim Pence, wife Mary Pence; wife Otherine Pence and his beloved grandson, Brandon M. Bratcher, who tragically passed when he was 18 years old.
A Visitation and Funeral service will be held at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, Missouri. Visitation will be Wednesday , May 31, 2023, from 9am – 10am. Funeral service at 10am. Interment will follow the services. The family suggests contributions to be made to the Dementia Society of America, PO Box 600, Doylestown, PA 18901, in honor of Charles. Contribution envelopes will be provided at the services.

Gene was born in Eldon, Missouri, to Alvin and Ross Crown. He attended and graduated from Eldon High School, and after graduation he moved to Kansas City to begin his career at Armco Steel, where he would work for the next 32 years. He was drafted into the Army and met the love of his life, Anita Belle House, in San Saba, Texas. Soon after, they married, and from their union they welcomed five children.
Gene enjoyed fishing and hunting with his family and friends throughout the years. He loved woodworking and building projects; he was well versed and very skilled in each. Gene was fortunate enough to retire from his career at the age of 49, giving him many enjoyable years with his wife and family. Gene also devoted his life to Jesus, serving as a deacon for over 50 years.
Gene is preceded in death by his wife of 57 beautiful years; Anita, his daughter; Vickie Lanita, his parents; Alvin and Ross Crown, his siblings; JoAnn VanWinkle, Jimmy Crown, Eddie Crown, one grandson, and one great-granddaughter. He is survived by his children; Michael Crown (Terry) of Independence, Missouri, Randy Crown (Janet) of Girard, Kansas, Cindy Oddo (Mike) of Grain Valley, Missouri, and Debbie Knight (Ernie) of Camdenton, Missouri, 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Obituary Preview: Betty was born September 20, 1927 in Norfolk, Nebraska to Florence and Rudolph Dostal. She was the oldest of three children, She had two brothers, Richard and Rudy. At the age of 7, she left Nebraska with her Mother and two young brothers, and moved eventually to a home in Independence.
She graduated from William Chrisman High School, Class of 1945, where she met her future husband, Owen Anthony. They were married on August 23, 1949. They raised three boys, Dennis, Darrell, and Doug. She loved gardening, crocheting, cooking, watching baseball games, and serving in her church congregation. She was a member of the Summit Grove congregation of the Community of Christ. She served as a Cub Scout Den Mother, Day Care staff, and contributed pies and casseroles to many a pot luck dinner.
Survivors include; 3 sons, Dennis Anthony and wife Tami of Stockton, MO, Darrell Anthony and wife Virginia of Lee’s Summit, MO and Doug Anthony and wife Becky of Oskaloosa, IA; 9 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousin’s, friends and other extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 70 years, Owen Anthony, two brothers Richard and Rudy Dostal, and her beloved Grandson Michael Anthony. We were so blessed to have you for such a long time, Mom. Thank you for touching our lives. Because we received your unconditional Christian love…. We will never be quite the same!

Obituary Preview: Craig W. McSparren, 80, died Tuesday, May 16, 2023 after a valiant battle with severe pulmonary hypertension. His family was by his side. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and uncle.
Craig was born November 18, 1942 in Independence, Missouri to Floyd W. and Margaret Simpson McSparren. He graduated from Van Horn High School in Independence in 1960 and William Jewell College in Liberty in 1964. He was an Eagle Scout. Craig was a proud member of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity and enjoyed the company of his brothers throughout his life. He was quite athletic and participated in football, basketball, and track in high school and football, basketball, swimming, and track in college. Craig served in the 110th Engineers Unit of the National Guard out of Kansas City from 1966-1972.
Craig married the love of his life, Gayle Farmer on May 29, 1964. They were high school sweethearts but their acquaintance may have first occurred in the nursery, as they were born two days apart at the same hospital in Independence. Craig and Gayle have two daughters, Kristen and Kim.
After graduating from college, Craig worked for Montgomery Elevator in the sales department and transferred to Moline, IL for two years. After returning to Independence, he enjoyed a long career as a salesman in the fire protection and detection industry, working for several different companies. He also served as an officer for SFPE (Society of Fire Protection Engineers). The culmination of his career was as the national sales manager for a special hazards fire detection company based in Massachusetts, which required extensive travel. Craig was always eager to get back home to his family and didn’t particularly enjoy life on the road. He retired in 2010 and enjoyed 12 wonderful years of leisure with his wife, kids, and grandkids. He loved watching his grandkids play sports and participate in all sorts of activities. He was a devoted, engaged family man who would do anything for those he loved.
Craig enjoyed being outdoors fishing, riding motorcycles, occasional golfing, and spending time at Lake of the Ozarks at the house his parents built. He enjoyed the friendships he cultivated in the ROMEO (Retired Old Motorcyclists Eating Out) group. He was always up for tinkering and fixing whatever needed attention. He was acutely interested in the Civil War, World War I, World War II, and Vietnam War.
Craig is survived by his wife Gayle, daughters Kimberly, and Kristen Thomas (Hans), and grandchildren Lux Ottesen, Eero Ottesen, Madeleine Thomas, and Augustus Thomas. We will miss his laugh, his beautiful blue eyes, and his never-ending love and support.
Family and friends will celebrate Craig’s life on Saturday, June 3, 2023, with a visitation at 9:00 and service at 10:00 at Speaks Suburban Chapel at 18020 E. 39th Street in Independence.

Obituary Preview: Richard “Dale” Craighead (88), of Independence, MO, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on May 15, 2023. Dale was the first born to the late George Elton Craighead and Minnie Louis (Schmidt) Craighead, in Mokane, MO, on July 11, 1934. He graduated from High School in Boonville, MO. Dale served in the Navy during the Korean war. Following his time in the service, he returned to Boonville, where he met and married Lois Jean Korte, and they were married for 65 plus years. Dale worked for A&P Grocery stores, where he worked into management, managing stores in Lexington, Odessa, Richmond, and Chillicothe, MO. Following the closure of A&P Grocery stores in the mid-west, Dale owned and operated a meat locker and processing plant in Norborne, MO. Dale and his wife moved to Kansas City later to be near their children, and worked in a grocery store as the meat department manager until his retirement. He loved to travel, fish, hunt, all sports and spend time, with family and friends. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Odessa, MO.
Dale is survived by his wife Lois of the home, daughter Cheryl and husband Dennis Burnam of Kansas City, KS, and son Richard “Rick” Craighead and wife Anita of Thousand Oaks, CA. Three grandchildren, Lindsay (Andy) Denzer of Parrish, FL, Devon (Alex) Hummel of Lenexa, KS, Jesse Craighead of Central Point, OR, and five great-grandchildren (Aubrey Denzer, Juliette Denzer, Penelope Denzer, Christian Hummel and Adeline Hummel. He is also survived by his sister, Wanda Williamson of Boonville, MO.
A visitation will be held from 1-2pm, followed by a celebration of life service at Speaks Funeral Home in Independence, MO on Friday, May 19, 2023.

Juliet Catherine Cokeley - April 20, 1976 - May 13, 2023

Obituary Preview: Juliet C. Cokeley, 47, died unexpectedly in her sleep the morning of May 13, 2023. Eight years ago Julie was diagnosed with Cardiomyopathy and had an implanted pacemaker/defibrillator. At 3:00 am Julie’s heart went into ventricular fibrillation. The device delivered 7 shocks but was unable to return her heart to a regular rhythm. Julie was asleep for the episode and likely did not know it was happening nor felt any pain. This was a very special day for Julie and I like to believe that she had the best seat in the house for her baby boy’s graduation from Pharmacy school. Everyone that spoke with Julie in the last 6 months knows two things...
She is a grandmother and Kevin is going to be a Doctor! Julie was full of life, love and happiness. Julie is a Mom to many because she had many Mother’s and was always there for anyone that needed her. Julie loved the outdoors, nature, Dogs, thunderstorms, music and more than anything spending every possible moment with her Grandson, children and her best friend and husband of 27 years.
Julie is survived by her husband of 27 years, Jim; two children, Kevin Cokeley (Arianna), Kaitlyn Bax (Levi); and her precious Grandson, Winston James Bax. Preceded in death by Her loving mother, Patricia Kreil; raised in her adolescent years by the late Timothy J. and the late Rita M Byrnes (nee O’Donnell). Loving sister of Brooke (James) Pierson, Patrick Byrnes (Daniel Spagnuolo), Emily (Sean) Campbell. Sister in law to Michael (Nahrain) Cokeley and Robert Cokeley. Loving aunt to many. Daughter in law of the late Margaret Cokeley. Julie is now with many of her favorite people in heaven and I am sure they are all watching over us and having a great time. Later in life Julie found her birth family and is also survived by her birth mother, Susan Brinkman, and grandparents, Elaine and Preston, along with their entire family that loved her.
One of the worst days in Julie’s life was the services and funeral for her mother when she was very young and the family has chosen private cremation ceremony with a private celebration of life to be scheduled at a later date.

She was born February 28, 1933 in Independence, Missouri, the daughter of Elmer and Gladys (Lynn) Eichenberger. She was a 1950 graduate of Northeast High School, National Honor Society recipient and attended William Jewell College. Joan married the love of her life, Kenneth Petty on November 2, 1952.
Joan and Ken raised their family in Lakehead, California, and later moved to Blue Springs, Missouri to be close to family. Her faith and relationship with the Lord was most important in her life. She shared the love of God and the hope He provides with everyone with which she came in contact. Many friend relationships started through church and she loved the fellowship through Canyon Community Church of Lakehead, and First United Methodist Church of Blue Springs. Joan was a focused, hardworking, do-what-it-takes, high-quality, loyal employee that went the extra mile for her boss. She worked for Helmer Jensen, State Farm, Complete Building Center, Dr. Richard Zietner, Psychologist, Joyce Kerber, Lawyer, and many others. Joan adored her family and thoroughly enjoyed time spent together. She kept her mind sharp working puzzles and lost many hours of sleep, not being able to find a good stopping point. Playing bridge with friends was treasured. She loved her friends in California, Blue Springs and at Heisinger.
She is survived by her daughter, Michelle (Doug) Ebersold of Holts Summit, Missouri and her son, Michael (Beth) Petty of Lewisville, Texas; six grandchildren, Heather (Eddie) Schoeneberg, Ryan Ebersold, Cammie (fiancé, Tommy) Petty, Blaine (Jessica) Petty, Braden (Morgan) Petty, Jonah Petty; and five great-grandchildren, Ruthie, Seth, Levi, Brody, and Brylee. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kenneth in 2001, her father Elmer Eichenberger, her mother Gladys Eichenberger and her brother Carl Eichenberger.
Visitation will be held Saturday 5/20/23, 11:30am at Speaks Suburban Chapel, Independence Missouri followed by her funeral at 12:30 p.m. with the Rev. Eddie Schoeneberg officiating. Burial will be at Mount Moriah Cemetery in Kansas City, Missouri following the funeral service.

Obituary Preview: Kenneth Lee Moore of Lee’s Summit, Missouri passed away peacefully on Friday, May 12, 2023. He was 89. Kenneth was born to Arba and Sylvia Moore on September 11, 1933 in Princeton, Missouri. He was married to Shirley Ann Hammond on August 5, 1956.
Kenneth worked hard all his life and enjoyed it. Growing up he farmed with his father. In addition, they raised and sold countless varieties of game birds across the Midwest. While in high school he earned the Missouri State Star Farmer award from FFA and went on to be named an American Star Farmer.
In 1962, Kenneth and Shirley moved to Maysville where they owned and operated a Grade A dairy farm that won several production awards. When an opportunity came in 1967 to take over the sales of Timber Frame Pole Barns in the region, he transitioned successfully to that career.
When not working Kenneth enjoyed several hobbies. He was a skilled woodworker making two cradles that would later hold his grandchildren and then his great grandchildren. He made three beautiful jewelry armoires for his three granddaughters and chest for his grandson. He spent many good times with friends fishing and hunting, and was known to have one of the best bird dogs in the area. Through the years, weekends were spent boating at Lake Viking and teaching countless people to water ski. Kenneth enjoyed visiting with family and friends and could always be counted on to tell some great stories.
No matter how busy he kept himself, he was always devoted to his family and supported them in every way. He dearly loved Shirley and celebrated 66 years of marriage with her. He spent hours watching his daughters in their school activities and continued following each grandchild in all of theirs. Because of his love and devotion to his family, they have so many cherished memories that bring comfort and smiles.
Kenneth is survived by his beloved wife, Shirley; daughters, Linda Niendick (Neal) and Lora Davison ; grandchildren, Abbey Manning (Brady), Kara Klontz (Ryan), Courtney Kawelaske (Ryan), Benjamin Niendick (McKenna); great-grandchildren, Sophie, Stella, August, Cal and Raelynn.
He is preceded in death by his sister, Mary Lou Chipps and brother in law Donnie.
A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, May 19th from 10-11am with a memorial service to immediately follow at Speaks Suburban Chapel in Independence, Missouri. A private family inurnment will take place at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, Missouri.
Kenneth served in the Korean war and was privileged to go on a Heartland Honor Flight to Washington D.C. In Lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Kenneth’s memory be made to The Heartland Honor Flight in care of Speaks Suburban Chapel 18020 East 39th St S. Independence, MO 64055.

He was employed with them for over 30 years until retirement. Leon was an athlete in his younger years and enjoyed sports such at football, baseball and wrestling. He was able to share his love for the game by coaching his son through baseball most of his life as well. Leon had a heart of gold and enjoyed serving others. He volunteered his time to the food pantry for over 10 years, scouts, the masonic lodge and was a member of the Ararat Shriners as well. He was an outdoorsman, took pride in his garden, enjoyed hunting and farming. Leon was a talented woodworker/carpenter and was know as being the jack of all
trades. There wasn’t anything Leon couldn’t do if he put his mind to it. He will be greatly missed.
Leon is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 38 years, Sue South and parents. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years, Robert Ries in 2008. Also, preceding her in death were three sisters, two brothers, and three infant siblings. She is survived by three daughters, Paula Greer (husband Dale) of Lee’s Summit, Carol Schellman (husband Dick) of St. Thomas, MO and Patti Finn (husband Mic) of Lenexa, KS. Obituary Preview: Thomas E. Dewey, 73, born in Lebanon, MO, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on May 10, 2023. He was a sweet and gentle soul, who was kind to anyone he met. During his younger years, He was an avid Boy Scout with Troop 356 and was a member of the Mic-O-Say Tribe. He later earned the rank of Eagle Scout and was given the Indian name of Fire Builder Early Descending Mist. He graduated from Van Horn High school in 1968, then attended Central Missouri State University. In the early days of his US Postal Service career, Thomas met the love of his life, Gloria Hurtado, and they wed on October 28, 1978. He later would retire from the North Kansas City US Postal Service as a Window Technician. Not ready to fully settle down, he would go on to be a Bus Driver for the Independence School District’s Transportation Department. During his time as a bus driver, he loved and cared for each of his young passengers. In his spare time, he was an amateur bowler, competing in numerous NABI tournaments and even bowling a perfect 300 game which got his name in the Hall of Fame museum of bowling in St. Louis, Missouri. He enjoyed golfing, collecting stamps and coins, and playing cards. He also loved to go fishing, especially for trout at Bennet Springs State Park. He was very creative whether it be wrapping presents, making derby carts, creating card protectors for poker, as well as making his very own bowling bag that carried 8 balls. He was also a sports fan, even coaching several of his son and daughter’s sports teams. He could always be found cheering on both the Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals.
Thomas was preceded in death by his father Edward Dewey, mother Betty Dickinson Dewey, and sister Constance Dewey Reed. He is survived by his wife Gloria Dewey, son Brian Dewey, and daughter Stephanie Clark (Michael). A visitation will be held for Thomas on May 19th, 2023 at St Mark’s Catholic Church located at 3736 S Lee’s Summit Rd, Independence, MO 64055 from 10:00-11:00 AM with a service immediately following at 11:00 AM.
