She was a doting grandmother to Sean (Julie) Strope of Sandy, UT, Dawn Strope of TX, Matthew (Kathryn) Bennitt of Cassopolis, MI, Stephanie Knueppel of Libertyville, IL, Andrea Strope of Cookeville, TN, and Mark (Ashley) Bennitt of Granger, IN. She will also be missed by great-grandchildren, Jaden (Sarah Jane) Riding of Ogden, UT, Kelly, Claire and Daniel Strope, all of Sandy, UT, Ora, Avery and Cole Knueppel, all of Libertyville, IL, Ian and Eve Norgard-Strope, both of Cookeville, TN, and Brooklyn and Vaughn Bennitt, both of Granger, IN; as well as great-great-grandchildren, Adalie and Finn Riding of Ogden, UT.

Lorraine's professional life was marked by her service at The University of Notre Dame's Center for Pastoral Learning, where she retired in 1996. Her commitment to education and her strong faith were cornerstones in her career, influencing countless individuals she interacted with during her tenure.

A woman of many interests, Lorraine had a deep love for her family. She was also an avid fan of Notre Dame football and women's basketball, often seen cheering on her teams with a spirited enthusiasm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 pm Friday, August 25, 2023 in St. Therese, Little Flower Catholic Church, 54191 Ironwood Road, South Bend, IN. Graveside services and burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family for one hour prior to mass on Friday in the church. Palmer Funeral Home – Hickey Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
