Lunie Marie Raynaud - February 23, 1928 - April 14, 2024

Departed: 04/14/2024 (Spring Valley)
Obituary Preview: There are no possible words that can describe the woman we are honoring here today. Commonly known as “Ma Tante Nini or Nini” she was a lifeline to many who knew her. To have had her in your life or just simply to have briefly met her will always be a blessing!
She was born Lunie Marie Raynaud, on February 23, 1928, in Port au Prince, Haiti to her parents Perilla Monrose and Gerald Gervais. She was known to be a God fearing prayer warrior who once sat in the original pews of the old church every Sunday with her family. She peacefully transitioned to eternal rest on April 14,2024 in Boston, MA to be in the comfort of the Lord and the arms of waiting sisters Antoinette, Lucina, and Constance. Preceded in death by her husbands, Yvel Raynaud (1978), then again by her second husband Emmanuel Dambreville (2010).
Our Tante Nini dedicated her life to her family, ensuring her children received the gift of education. She was a pillar in the community, known for her unwavering dedication to her faith and family. She embraced her role as a guiding light by helping to raise many of her nieces and nephews: Bernadette (1), Hildebert (3), Roberto (3), Guy, Emma (5), Ghislaine (4), Rose-Marie (1), Marie-Jose (3). And as they became fruitful, she continued mothering the next generation of her great nieces and nephews.
Known as a beacon of love and laughter to all who knew her. Her kitchen was the heart of her home, where she instilled the love of cooking in her children, nieces and grandchildren. Her hearty meals and infectious laughter brought joy to countless gatherings. She also enjoyed sewing, reading, and traveling with her church family. She was involved at her church St. Matthews and St. Mark's Parish in Boston serving as part of the choir and Eucharistic ministry. Her favorite Psalm was Psalm 23 which she encouraged everyone to memorize.
Her radiant smile could light up the darkest room, and her selflessness knew no bounds. Nini's acts of kindness touched the lives of many, leaving an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know her. She leaves to carry her smile, dignity and faith her children Shirley Jean -Baptiste (Marc), Yves Reynaud (Sherry); her stepchildren Marie Carmelle, Guy, Mae, Jessie; her grandchildren Jonathan (Tara), Janay, Ethan, Edwin, Alexandra, Jenna and her great-granddaughter Lalani.
The family wishes to express deep gratitude to her Boston family, who embraced and took care of her as one of their own. To the children of Emmanuel Dambreville: our heartfelt thanks for being an integral part of our extended family. We will always treasure the shared meals and the gift of your time.

Alex Thomas Conway - July 04, 1987 - March 29, 2024

Departed: 03/29/2024 (Spring Valley)
Obituary Preview: Alex Thomas Conway passed away on March 29, 2024 in New York. He was a loving husband, friend, son, brother, nephew and adored uncle.
Alex was born on July 4th, 1987 in Flemington, NJ to parents Donna and Frank Conway. Alex was an adventurous spirit all his life. He had an unbelievable imagination and creative soul from the moment he was born. Alex was the youngest of two siblings, Regina and Frank Conway. The Conway family took many family vacations to Southern California where Alex found his calling. Universal studios, Hollywood, and old movie sets became a big part of Alex's passion at a very young age. These places sparked something in him which was shown all throughout his childhood. Whether it meant sharing his extraordinary imagination with his sister and making movies at home, drawing homemade birthday cards from scratch that highlighted the movie that he was into at the time (that weren't shy of being a work of art), or spending long hours editing films in the film department in high school. Alex would always say, "I will be behind that camera one day." He was also a very accomplished runner. The medals and trophies filled his room starting in Middle School and all the way through High School as he'd place in the top of his cross-country team throughout the East Coast. Alex could run backwards or run for miles making it look ever so easy. He went on to study Film in college and was a proud graduate from Syracuse University.
In his early 20’s he took the leap and moved to New York City to pursue his dream in the Film and TV Industry. He worked on countless jobs as a Production Assistant and was determined to join the Director’s Guild of America to become an Assistant Director. He did just that in 2015 and loved it. A few of his favorite jobs included Spider-man (Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland ones), Clerks III, and Saturday Night Live digital shorts. If you crossed paths with him on set you could see the passion and dedication he had to create. He made working on set fun and calming at the same time.
Alex met his wife Laura while working on the TV show Pan Am in 2011. He would sneak over to her lock ups as much as he could just to make her smile and laugh. They quickly became best friends, fell in love and shared their lives together living in Astoria, Queens with their beloved dog Huey. Going on walks with Huey and spending as much time as they could at Astoria park together was their favorite thing. However, during the pandemic, they decided to move outside of the city to be close to nature and start a new chapter of life. They married on June 5th, 2021 in the Catskills surrounded by their loved ones. It was one of the most beautiful days of their lives.
Alex always strived to understand the world around him and love unconditionally. He was passionate about creating. Whether he was running around on set placing background actors or drawing his beautiful childrens book, he was always full of kindness, love and creativity. Alex could see colors others could not see. He was a talented artist and perfectionist when it came to his drawings. He loved being in nature and going on hikes. Alex loved music and could out dance anyone on the dance floor. His laugh was infectious, had a great sense of humor, always wanting to make friends and family laugh. But of course, one of his greatest pleasures was hunkering down to watch as many movies as he could.
In the past 6 years he was drawn to mediation and was dedicated to absorbing anything about a Zen life and living in the present moment. It brought him such peace and happiness when he discovered something new and immediately wanted to share it with everyone around him. He had a beautiful heart. If you crossed paths with Alex, you could see it and feel it. Whether it was a friend or stranger that was feeling down or upset, he went out of his way to make them feel better. That’s the kind of person he was. He loved his family and friends with everything he had.
Alex is survived by his wife, Laura Conway; father, Frank Conway; brother, Frank Conway; sister in law, Hilary Conway; nephew, Collin Conway; sister, Regina Hoffman; brother in law, Kevin Hoffman; and his nieces and nephew, Penelope, Luke and Francesca Hoffman. He is also survived by many family members of the Conway, Ashley, Hieronimczak and Wilinski’s.
Alex was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Donna Conway; grandparents Lawrence & Hazel Ashley; grandparents, Walter & Rose Conway.
We love you, Alex.

Vincent Lucius DeCarlo Abrahams - December 03, 1966 - March 21, 2024

Departed: 03/21/2024 (Spring Valley)
Obituary Preview: Vincent Lucius DeCarlo Abrahams was called home by the Lord, on March 21, 2024. Vincent departed this world, peacefully, at home surrounded by love.
Vincent was born on December 3,1966 in Suffern, NY to the late Lucius Abrahams Jr. and Patricia Peterson-Abrahams. Vincent later attended Spring Valley High School, graduating in 1985. During his high school years, Vincent was known to be a skilled sportsman and became a multisport athlete. He excelled at the game of baseball often propelling his team to championships. Vincent also served in the Children’s Church Ministry of the Community Baptist Church of Love, Paterson, New Jersey, with his mother, Evangelist Peterson-Abrahams from 1984-1993.
After high school, Vincent continued to serve his community by working with young people at Woodycrest, Finkelstein Memorial Library and serving as an integral part of the security personnel in the East Ramapo Central School District for 33 years. Although Vincent’s primary role was to ensure the safety of his building, his influence extended far beyond security. He played multiple roles during his tenure. Everyone knew “Vince”! As an advisor for his men’s club, Vincent strived to expose his young mentees to new experiences. Oftentimes he would organize field trips for his club including an occasional fishing excursion. As a coach to both girls softball and boys baseball, Vincent never hesitated to teach his players the skills needed to be a competitor.
In recognition of Vincent’s dedication, the PTA bestowed upon him the Founder’s Day award to celebrate his service to the children of East Ramapo. Through his many roles, Vincent served as a mentor and confidante to multiple generations of young people in the community.
Vincent became a father in 1990 with the birth of his son, Vincent Timothy Abrahams (mother, Beverly Nance). He later went on to meet and marry his beloved wife Erica Johnson in 2005. The two were wed for nearly 19 years. From this union he had two children, Amaya Lela Inez Abrahams and Elijah Robert Abrahams. Vincent loved being a father. He was so proud of the accomplishments of his children. He was always so excited to show pictures and videos of his kids performing on the field and on the stage. Whether it was cheering little Vincent on during his middle school football games, watching Amaya at a dance competition or yelling from the stands at Elijah’s baseball games, Vincent was their biggest fan.
In his free time, Vincent continued to remain active by continuing to play adult softball in Rockland county. He was a masterful first baseman leading the team to multiple victories. Vincent was also a proud master mason of the Tappan Zee Lodge No. 79. Free and Accepted Masons Prince Hall Affiliation. He enjoyed being in service to the community alongside his mason brothers. Vincent continued to coach outside of the school district as a coach for Haverstraw Little League and assisting with Elijah’s travel team, the North Jersey Diamondbacks. Vincent’s light shined the brightest on a baseball field. He always exuded such a love for the game.
Vincent is preceded in death by his father Lucius Abrahams Jr, paternal grandparents Lucius Abrahams Sr. and Mable Abrahams, maternal grandparents Eddie and Inez Peterson and brother-in-law, Ancle Grice.
Vincent leaves to cherish his precious memories, his devoted wife, Erica Johnson-Abrahams, his children Vincent, Amaya and Elijah Abrahams, his beloved mother, Patricia Peterson-Abrahams, his loving siblings, Patrick Peterson, Deborah Abrahams-Grice, Timothy Abrahams and sister-in-law Ijeoma Archara-Abrahams. Vincent also is survived by his beautiful nieces and nephew Patrick Jeremiah Peterson, Taylor Peterson and Saige Abrahams. As well as great niece Layloni Peterson. He also leaves behind his mother-in-law, Ella Cannon and father-in-law Robert Johnson as well as cherished loved ones Beverly Nance, Tanisha Browne and Hadiyah Buchanan along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.
Vincent, we will miss you more than any words could express. Your legacy of compassion, service and mentorship will live on through your children and in the hearts and minds of generations of young people you have influenced. Rest peacefully. Until we see you again…. Well done, good and faithful servant…… well done.
