He was preceded in death by one brother, Jerome Spearman of Chica-go, Illinois, and sister Cleo Nelson of Chicago Illinois, one daughter Diane Gray of Tupelo Mississippi, one bonus son James Randle of Chicago Illinois. Henry confessed his faith in Christ at a young age. He was reared in the church and taught the ways of God by his parents. During his spare time, he enjoyed listening to Gospel music. His favorite is "There is a Leak in this Building." He lost his sight at an early age due to health conditions. He retired from Avon in 1991 after thirty plus years. Henry married Rennie in Tupelo, Mississippi (preceded him in death). He made his transition on March 30, 2022 at Aperion Care Forest Park. He leaves to cherish his memory: Four children, Marvin (Maryann) Gray, Willie Ray Gray of Chicago, Illinois, Debra Gray of Detroit, Michigan, Rolonda Randle of Chicago, Illinois and two bonus sons Dwayne and Reggie Randle of Chicago, Illinois; one sister, Theresa Thomas of Chicago, Illinois; eight grandchildren, Alvin, Lavata, Marvin Jr, Paul, Jacquise, Dalana, Tukyirah and Sereniti; seventeen great grandchildren; two special nieces, Elaine and Bridget Murphy; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, family and special friends.

Obituary Preview: "Junior". "Uncle Jesse". Jesse Lee Brocks Jr. was born in Chicago March 7th 1952. The eldest son of Jesse and Annie Brocks grew up on the near west side of the city. After completing his schooling at Crane High School, Jesse enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1974 and after 4 years of service based in San Diego, CA was honorably discharged. He went on to work for Union Pacific Railroad for many years before settling in Maywood, IL with his first wife, Colleen Weems. To their union was born his daughter, Jessica. He later married Joanne and to this union he had a son, Jesse Brocks III. Jesse also has sons Toby & Cory Brocks. From the time of his young manhood, "Junior" was known for several things: Cadillacs, clothes, and spending time with his people, including the Mothers of his children, his siblings and their children. No one who knew him will forget his deep voice (loud at times), his rolling laugh and his willingness to argue with you. He was generous to his family when he could be. After battling several illnesses for some years, Jesse finished his race on this earth Saturday morning February 26th 2022. Uncle Jesse leaves to cherish his memory: Four children (Toby, Cory, Jessica, Jesse III), three grandchildren (Ladonte Brocks, Javion Williams, James Mays Jr.), five siblings (Lenora, Regina, Michael, Candice, Tyrone) and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was the second born of eleven children. Four of her siblings, three of her children, and one of her great grandchildren all preceded her in death. Barbara attended Gregory Elementary School and later Hess High School. Barbara confessed in Christ at an early age. Barbara had not set her heart on a lifelong career instead she chose the freedom of working in a variety of fields. Barbara was the energy in a room full of people. She would make you laugh and cuss you out all in the same sentence. Barbara was true to the woman she wanted to be. Barbara was one hell of a woman and heaven has truly gained an angel. She will be missed by every life that she impacted. She was a great mother, grandmother, great grand-mother, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend. Life will not be the same without her around. Zacharia gave birth to 3 beautiful daughters. Azaria, Rihanna, and Nova, and she love those girls with all of her heart. Zacharia learned to cook at a very early age. Z was already cooking pancakes at the age of 8. Zacharia spent some time in the kitchen with her mother but then her cooking skills took off! Z learned to cook all sorts of dishes from soul-food to Caribbean and Hispanic. People that have had Z’s cooking knew that when she cooked her food was so delicious. Z was heavy into food, fashion, and politics. Z walked in heels like she was born in them! Zacharia was 33 years old when she was pronounced Brain-Dead on February 5, 2022 at the University of Wisconsin Hospital. Calvin’s love for his family led him to Alpha Baking Company in Chicago, IL. After more than 30 years of service, Calvin retired from Alpha Baking Company in 2009. On the early morning of Saturday, January 29, 2022, the curtain was closed on the temporal life of Calvin Thompson and he entered into another celebration of life. Calvin is preceded in death by his parents; mother, Francis Thompson and father, B.B. Thompson. She continued her education further by attending Malcolm X College and receiving both her associates and bachelor’s degrees in Nursing and Computer Programming. she was also member of the Christ love order of the Eastern Star Chapter 55. Valinda was a hard worker, dedicated mother, and loyal friend. She was fond of working with people and her dedication for helping others was encouraging. She continued helping others while being a CNA at Warren Barr Nursing Home, along with working at the Salvation Army helping those who needed services. She also worked for Marshall Field’s, where she did customer service and Time magazine, where she took magazine orders for potential customers. Her children and grandchildren were the biggest and greatest part of her life. She was not only a mother to her children, but a mother to every child that crossed her path. She was friendly to everyone, but that didn’t mean she was to be fooled by anyone. Valinda was a natural beautician, as she braided almost every little girl’s hair in our neighborhood. She was a good listener with a big heart. She was kind to everyone she met and always had a willingness to help when she could. She loved living life and having fun. Her favorite things to do were listening to music, dancing, baking, and spending time with her family. Valinda leaves behind her memories to be cherished by her children: a daughter Kei-sha, two sons Jamel and Donnie, her daughters-in-law Janel and Shaleka, her grand-children Kevon, Da’shuana, Keya’e, and Jayla, along with her great grandchildren: Kayson and Jasiah, and three brothers Michael, Eric, and Darryl, along with a plenti-ful amount of family and friends who loved her dearly as she loved them. When the family relocated to Chicago, Illinois in 1963, he attended Howland and Ryerson El-ementary schools through 1970. Glenn received Christ later in life. He worked mainly summer jobs, along with a few election jobs. Glenn was hilarious. He loved to be around his family and friends. He enjoyed family func-tions, when you came around “Houseplay” you were in for an amazing time, with a great hu-mor from his soul. Glenn loved his blues, when he went home to visit Indianola, MS (Church Street), he would walk and sing Howling Wolf. He didn’t harm anybody, he had love in his heart. Chicago Ave-nue was another stomping ground, where he and his friends would hang around. Now he is with Jesus, his Lord and Savior. Ernestine was admired by doctors and staff for her skills and professionalism in handling confidential medical records. Ernestine had two sisters Jean and Elgoria, one brother, Lawrence, who all precede her in death. Ernestine leaves behind one sister, Shirley, four children, Gerald, Ronald, Kevin, Darren, two children, Maurice, and Shirley Ann, who also pre-cede her in death; a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Mrs. Sivels believed in family and did all she could for them.

All of whom preceded him in death. McKinley accepted Christ at a very early age. William Mckinley relocated to Chicago in 1946 and this where he met the woman who will become his wife. McKinley and Eloise (Medlock) married September 16, 1947. To this union eight children were conceived. McKinley and Eloise were married 55 years until the Lord called her home in 2001. McKinley retired in 1990 from Medline Medical Supply Company. Since retiring Mckinley has enjoyed going to festivals, cultural centers, museums, the yearly car show, etc. He loved taking pictures and sports. He was a true home-team fan. He enjoyed music especially blues and jazz. Mckinley had a passion for reading. He would always say "you needed to learn beyond what was taught in school." His favorite foods were Pinto Beans, Cherry Pie and Pepsis Cola. McKinley leaves to cherish his precious memory eight children: Trianna Louise, Michael Dennis (Connie) of Lawrenceville,GA, Jeffrey Leon, Valarie Ann, Carolyn Arnice, Debra Maria (preceded him in death), Robert McKinley (Linda) of Las Vegas, NV and Sherri Regina; 17 grand-children, 25 great grandchildren, 2 great- great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, (special Ruby Johnson) Columbus, Ohio and other relatives and friends.

Even though Emily suffered a stroke, she did not let her disability stop her from enjoying life. Emily loved fashion and also loved to travel with friends. A few months before her death she was able to enjoy a trip to Martha’s Vineyard in Rhode Island. Emily was called home on January 15, 2022. Emily is preceded in death she by her parents and her Aunt Dot who also helped raise her. To this union four children were born, Daniel, Rashied, Darnell and Nefertiti. Lillie pursued her passions of baking, cooking and entertaining. She was always a gracious hostess with Walter. Summer barbecues were especially memorable, since Lillie and Walter demonstrated tremendous teamwork during these gatherings. Family favorites included her specialties: sweet potato cheesecake pie, pound cake, banana pudding and lasagna. She worked in the financial industry with Garda and as a personal banker with Northwest Community Bank, both were located in Chicago, Illinois. Lillie worked for Motorola in Schaumburg, Illinois for over 19 years. Lillie’s life changed when she was baptized in Jesus’ name and received the Holy Spirit when repented of her sins over 25 years ago. As a member of Christ Temple Church in Chicago, she served as an usher for many years. Since family was important to Lillie, she took numerous road trips with Walter to visit family in Detroit, Mississippi and Oklahoma. Also, Lillie loved to show her home interior design skills. Lillie passed away on Sunday, January 9, 2022. Her parents, Dave, Sr. and Flossie; step-father, Earl James; brothers, C. D.
