Kevin Lewis Cox - May 02, 1971 - March 17, 2024

Departed: 03/17/2024 (Keyser)
Obituary Preview: Kevin Lewis Cox, 52, of Keyser, WV passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2024 from health complications.Kevin was born in Jacksonville, Florida to Linda Cox (Isaac). His biological father was Joe Lewis Cox, but he was raised by and knew Kenneth Ray Isaac as his father! As a child, Kevin was an avid athlete and boxer. Although he never went professional he certainly could have. This passion for boxing carried on into his adult life and he watched every televised match and offered commentary whether we wanted to hear it or not! He was a lover of life, his family and all people especially children. Children gravitated to Kevin because he was so kind and would spoil them any chance he got. Children loved Kevin and looked at him as a hero who taught them how to defend themselves with boxing! Kevin was also an amazing artist. He could draw anything from a butterfly, (which was his moms favorite), to a portrait of a person. His drawings were life like and could be sold in any art gallery! Kevin was a giving soul who never met a stranger! He has literally given the shirt off of his back and the shoes off of his feet which says a lot because he was big into dressing well and looking good in the latest fashions. Many people referred to him as the little guy with big muscles and an even bigger heart. Kevin was preceded in death by his brother Eric Wayne Cox and stepfather Kenneth Ray Isaac and brother-in- law Eric Matthews. He is survived by his mother, Linda Joanne Isaac, sister, Kristi Lanee Matthews. His memory will be forever cherished by his fiancee, Sherri L. Smith, aunts, Phyllis Hightower (Wil) and Sikita Jordan, and close friends Fernando Smith (Jamie). Kevin will be sorely missed by his entire family, a host of friends and loved ones.Kevin is gone but will never be forgotten! Until we meet again, Kevin we love you!A private family service will be held on Sunday, March 24, 2024 at Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Washington, DC.
