Departed: 05/10/2024 (Murfreesboro)
Obituary Preview: Cynthia Ann Slayden, age 58, born December 9,1965, passed away peacefully in her home on May 10, 2024.
Cindy was preceded in death by her mother Catherine White, her father Richard Bleil Sr., her beautiful aunt Janet Kuchenmeister, her first husband Jeffrey Slayden and her second husband Anthony Leaver, who passed almost 2 months before.
Cindy is survived by her oldest daughter Tracy Newman (Richard), her grandchildren Alex, Aiden and Isabelle.  Her son Brandon Loucks (Monica), grandchildren Brandi and Isaiah.  Her son Cody Slayden (Geneva), grandchildren Peyton, Will, Shy and Aaron.  Her baby girl Briana Slayden. Big brother Richard Bleil (Helen).
Cindy grew up in Poughkeepsie, New York, alongside her mother and older brother.  Cindy also got to grow up being close to her aunt and her cousins. Cindy's biggest role model growing up was her big brother Richie.  Words could not describe how proud she was of him, especially for his many many years of service in The United States Navy.
Cindy was a loving mother to all four of her children, she made each of us feel special and loved in our own way.  Cindy was a caring and lovable person to everyone she came across.  She could always put a smile on your face and never knew a stranger.  Cindy loved watching crime shows and ghost adventures, but she really loved when she got to sit at night with Aiden and watch their show.
Cindy was a hard worker and dedicated employee at Floortex.  On the weekends she enjoyed 4 wheeling with her boys or tanning in the pool with her girls.  Cindy was her happiest when she got all 4 of her kids together, add the grandkids, and she was the happiest mother and Nene in the world.  Cindy had a special love for chocolate.  She had to have a bag of Hershey Nuggets every night.  You could ask her for candy once, but don't dare ask her twice.. she didn't like to share.
Cindy was an outstanding mother, grandmother, wife and friend to those who were around her.  Her presence alone could fill a room with love and joy.  Cynthia Ann Slayden will forever be missed dearly and her spirit will shine bright through those she loved and cherished the most. Letters to a mother gone too soon:
Today is Monday, May 13, 2024. I quit my job on May 11, my birthday, the day after you became my forever guardian angel.  I know you didn't want me to take too much on after you left, so I listened for once.  I had class today and it was the first time in months I didn't get to kiss you on the forehead and say I love you, mom.  I didn't get to hear you say, ok honey, I love you too have a good day.  I couldn't call you on my breaks and complain about how hard it is and you'd tell me you got this. I believe in you. 34 years was not enough time with you as my mom.  I promise to keep making you proud.  I love you to the moon and back.  I promise to keep being the mom to my kids, that you were to me. Love you forever, Tracy
Thank you for being my mother.  Thank you for the cuddles in bed, the leg rubs in the middle of the night when I would wake up, the late night Kit Kats & Reese's cups we would share together but hide from everybody else.  Thank you for raising me into the strong woman I am today.  Thank you for never being mad at me.  For always accepting my flaws & me for who I am.  Thank you for always wanting to protect me.  Thank you for always worrying about me & my safety.  Thank you for always being there to pick me up when I need it the most.  Thank you for being my favorite game of 21 questions, no one asks questions like you do mom.  Thank you for taking care of me & loving me with every inch in your body.  Thank you for being the best mom I could have ever asked for.  Please watch over me, protect & guide me through this life.  Give me the strength to heal from your absence & allow me to accept God's plan.  You are the brightest light shining through me now.  I'm going to be okay with knowing that you're finally at peace & can finally get your rest.  I love you more than I can even begin to describe.  I will forever hold onto our last moments together.  I'm glad I could make you feel loved & cared about.  This isn't goodbye, but until I see you again.
You are my sunshine, my only sunshine.
You make me happy when skies are grey.
You'll never know dear, how much I love you.
Please don't take my sunshine away. Your baby girl, Briana

Jason Perez - November 07, 1975 - April 26, 2024

Departed: 04/26/2024 (Murfreesboro)
Obituary Preview: Jason Nathaniel Perez, age 48, died on Friday, April 26th in Shelbyville, Tennessee. Jason was born on November 7th, 1975 in Ventura, California. Jason was a California native, and also spent years in Illinois before moving to Tennessee. His easy- going personality and big smile made him a perfect fit in the south. To my #1 Dad, You fought my whole life the hurt that you were facing inside. I saw it through a child’s eyes. Now that I’m older, I deeply understand the pain. Finding you like that hurting so bad I will never be the same. All I ever wanted was to love you and take away some of your pain. Our relationship was always pretty strained. How many times will you go back to the fire and keep getting burnt? I told you “If I die today, I will know that I have left everything on the table that I loved you. I will get burnt as many times as it takes dad.” Six days after my birthday you left this world. I was so thankful to have you back in my life finally. You gave me the last two weeks of your life and for that I will forever be grateful. I know you didn’t do this to hurt me, but that you were just hurting so bad inside. I wish I could’ve held you and told you everything was going to be all right. That I wouldn’t have left that day. You always reminded me of what my kindergarten teacher said
“Every action, leads to consequences.” for the rest for the rest of my life, I will have to live with the consequences of leaving you alone that day. I know you’re in paradise and you’re no longer hurting. That is the only thing that will bring me peace that you were no longer in pain that I no longer have to see my dad hurt. Your eyes are the windows to your soul. I wish I would have seen more clearly the hurt in your eyes I would’ve done anything to save you. I love you with such a deep an unexplainable love.
No matter how much you hurt me I always just wanted my dad. I love you with everything I have. The day that you took your life, you took half of mine. Also, I will never be the woman that I was before you left. He told me to be a victor instead of a victim. I will try my best to live to honor your life. A life of freedom, excitement, fast cars and dreams bigger than life.
I love you always - your daughter.
Jason loved to build things, and started his own business early in his life. More recently, he had made a successful transition to commercial construction. His handiwork can be seen all over Tennessee, including the Murfreesboro Hospital, Vanderbilt Hospital, the Nashville Soccer Stadium and the Little Debbie Snack Cake Factory in Chattanooga, where he got to meet the real Little Debbie.
When not working, Jason could usually be found tinkering in the yard or working on a project. He loved projects. He loved making things beautiful, and was truly gifted in that area. He also loved spending time with family and his dogs, Gizzy, Petunia, Penelope and Taz. Gizzy loved to sit in the garage with dad. When Petunia was pregnant, Jason would kiss her belly every morning before leaving for work.
Jason’s infectious laugh and huge personality will be greatly missed.
Jason is survived by his only blood child Alyssa Shawver, granddaughters, Avalynn Desai, Hazley Shawver, His wife, Lynn Perez, Mother Patricia Perez, Brother, Chris Perez, sister Doreen Perez, son-in-law Ryan Shawver, and first wife, Monya Qualls.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, May 3rd,2024; 1:00pm at The Church of God located at 2011 St James Street in Murfreesboro Tn. There will be a short memorial service with a balloon release to follow.

She took great care of her husband for 6 years as he battled a debilitating autoimmune disease. She stayed strong and provided physical and emotional support to Jerry during such a difficult time. It was often said that she missed her calling as a nurse.
Shelia’s favorite thing to do was to spoil and take care of her grandkids. She was beyond proud of each and every one of them and bragged on them to every stranger who would listen. Grams, as the grandkids would call her, loved game days, competitions, performances, birthday parties, and holiday get togethers. She also loved to travel and make memories with her family, especially at the beach because of the peace that it brought to her and her family.
She was predeceased by her husband Jerry Wilson, her father Robert Kephart, her mother Annie Kephart, and her companion, Thomas Brewer. She is survived by the following loved ones who will miss her immensely: her daughter and son-in-law Jeni and Richard Sanders of Christiana, TN, her daughter Megan Mullen of Hazel Green, AL, her grandchildren from Christiana, TN, Kelton Sanders, Layken Sanders, Chaston Sanders, and Paisley Sanders, her grandchild Abigail Rowland of Fayetteville, TN, her grandchildren from Hazel Green, AL, Landon Donnell, Insley Donnell, and Gavin Donnell, her sister and brother-in-law, Sherrie and Bobby Preston of Mt. Juliet, TN, her nephews and niece from Mt. Juliet, TN, Casey, Noah, and Annesa Preston, her cousin and close friend Linda Carver (Dan), her close friends Tammy and Ken Hampton of Murfreesboro, TN, and Lauren Voyles of Murfreesboro, TN, and her extended family and friends.
Shelia was a believer in Jesus, and one of her favorite scriptures was Psalm 91.
