Departed: 05/09/2024 (Bronx)
Obituary Preview: Amelia (Mazzella) De Stefano was born on June 2, 1923. As a young girl in Ponza she loved swimming for hours with her friends and also taught herself to sew. She met and married her husband Francesco De Stefano in 1948 and came to America not really knowing anyone nor the language. They had two children Elena (Anthony) and Phil (Luann). She was the proud nonna of five: Maria (Chris), Michael (Sharon), Krista (Vinny), Laraine, and Frankie (Loredana), and prouder great- nonna of four: Michael, Mariella, Christian, and Charlie. She loved to cook for her family and on Sundays there were 14 at the table and sometimes more. This will certainly be treasured and missed. She was known for her baking cookies, zeppole, and casatiello. She was also great at knitting, crocheting, and altering clothes for her family and friends. She wore most of her original design dresses. She will be sorely missed by her entire family and friends. She was just three weeks short of her 101st birthday which she will celebrate with her loved ones.

Obituary Preview: Geraldine Brown, affectionately known as Gerri to her friends and family, left a lasting impact on all who were fortunate enough to know her. With a heart as big as her smile, Gerri dedicated her life to caring for others as a remarkable registered nurse.
Born with a natural gift for compassion and healing, Gerri's nurturing spirit touched countless lives throughout her career. Whether it was a reassuring word, a comforting touch, or simply her presence, she had an uncanny ability to make those around her feel seen, heard, and cared for.
But Gerri's impact extended far beyond the hospital walls. She was the pillar of strength and support for her family and friends, always there to lend a listening ear or offer sage advice. As we bid farewell to our beloved Gerri, let us take comfort in knowing that her legacy of love will endure, a shining beacon of hope and compassion in a world that sorely needs it.
Rest in peace, dear Gerri. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
