Obituary Preview: Mary Ellen Hess Geib, 90, of Manheim, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, died peacefully and went home to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, November 12, 2023 at Pleasant View Retirement Community. Born in in Mount Joy Township near Elizabethtown, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Rhoda Snyder Hess. She attended Woodland Heights country school and graduated from Elizabethtown High School.

She was married to the late Isaac Geib for 69 years prior to his passing in January of this year. She worked at Hamilton Watch Company in Lancaster. Mary Ellen was also a banquet server at Evans restaurant in Manheim and the General Sutter Inn in Lititz.

While raising her family, Mary Ellen enjoyed singing in choirs, making ceramics, needlepoint and floral arranging. She also enjoyed entertaining and she used her decorating talents and love for antiques to create a warm, welcoming and memorable gathering for her guests. She enjoyed attending concerts and art shows. She was a member at the Lititz Church of the Brethren and the Friendship Sunday School Class.

Mary Ellen was very devoted to her children, family and friends. In more recent years, she was faithful about calling friends and family needing an encouraging word and was involved in the phone chain for her Sunday school class.

Survived by her three children; Perry Geib, companion Sandra Wilson, Lititz, Randy Geib married to Diane Geib, Manheim, and Dora Jo Forry, married to David L Forry, of Manheim; two grandchildren, Brandon Geib and Carson Geib; a sister, Nancy Geeseman; and brother Wilbur Hess, married to Fern Hess, Elizabethtown. Preceding in death is her daughter, Sharon, Shelly, married to David Shelly of Lititz; and a sister, Wilma Kettering.

Obituary Preview: Peter C. Hawryluk, 81, passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2023, at his son’s home in South Annville Township, Lebanon County. He was married for 15 years to Charlene (Sweeney) Hawryluk. The couple lived for the last 10 years in Carolina Shores, North Carolina.

The son of the late Peter and Elsie (Foltz) Hawryluk, Peter C. grew up in Annville, PA, and graduated from Annville Cleona High School in 1960. Peter fondly remembered his years singing in the choir at First Lutheran Church in Annville and in other churches he attended over the years. His life-long hobby and favorite work was repairing cars and engines of all kinds. He served for five years as a mechanic in the United States Air Force. After working at the Cornwall Ore Mines, and later as a diesel mechanic for the Conrail Railroad, he opened his own repair shop, Hawryluk’s Garage, at his home in South Annville Township.

In addition to his wife, Charlene, Peter is survived by children to a previous marriage to Judy K (Richwine) Hawryluk: Dawn M Landes (wife of Christopher) and Jonathan E Hawryluk (husband to Karrye) as well as nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, David in 1997.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Friday October 20, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Fontana Chapel, 22 Fontana Avenue, Lebanon, PA 17042. There will be no public viewing. Interment will take place on Friday morning at 9:30 AM in South Bellegrove Cemetery, 1340 N. State Rte. 934, Annville, PA 17003 with Military Honors. Obituary Preview: Clinton F. Rohrer, 97, of Lititz, PA, went home to be with his Lord unexpectedly on Friday morning, July 7, 2023. Born in Lititz, he was the son of the late Earl and Mary (Forney) Rohrer. He was the loving husband of Barbara A. Rohrer who passed away in January 2022.

Clinton attended Lime Rock School and Warwick High School and was a lifelong member of White Oak Church. He spent at least 40 years farming with his older brother, Levi. They farmed crops, beef cattle, and chickens. Clinton spent numerous years working as a salesman for Babcock Hatchery of Lititz. He was a member of the Gideons. He spent his later years mowing the yard and riding the Gator. Clinton played softball with the White Oak Church League as well as the Old Timers Softball League.

Dad was born on the farm and died on the farm.

He is survived by his five children, Barbara Jean, wife of the late Bennett G. Angle, of Mercersburg, Beverly Ann, wife of Michael H. Hosler, of Lititz, C. Douglas, husband of Lu Ann Eshleman Rohrer, of Lititz, H. Dale, husband of Twila Brubaker Rohrer, of Lititz, and Jeffrey S., husband of Tracy A. Morinchin Rohrer, of Mohrsville; 14 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by four siblings, Vera F. Smith, Edith F. White, Levi F. Rohrer and two infant brothers, Earl F., and Eugene F. Rohrer.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday afternoon, July 15, 2023, at 5:00 PM at White Oak Church, 1211 North Penryn Road, Manheim, PA. Private interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. There will be no public viewing. The family will receive guests at the church on Saturday afternoon from 3:30 PM until the time of the service. Miller, husband of Debora K., of Mastersonville, and Ruth Ann, wife of Philip D. Martin, of Manheim; 14 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren; and one sister, Janet Malles, of Lancaster. She was preceded in death by a brother, Chester Snyder and one granddaughter, Brenda Kay Miller.

He attended the original Doe Run Elementary and Manheim Central Schools. Ike was the son of the late Hershey and Erma Gingrich Geib. He was the husband of Mary Ellen Hess Geib for 69 years. He was the father of four children: Perry L. Geib, Randy S., husband of Diane Geib, the late Sharon L., wife of David Shelly, and Dora, wife of David Forry, all of the Manheim area. He is also survived by two grandsons, Brandon and Carson Geib. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Ann Creter and Orpha Strausbaugh.

Ike was a member of Lititz Church of the Brethren since 1956. He served on various church committees, including disaster relief, and was president of the Friendship Sunday school class.

He was a member of the Pennsylvania Farm Organization at the county, state and national level and the National Farmers Union. He served the Lancaster County Farm Bureau in many ways including board of directors, the committee to go on legislative tours to Harrisburg and Washington, chairman of farm tour committee, and natural resources and nutrient management committee. He enjoyed organizing tours of many Lancaster County farms for 10 years.

He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting in Pennsylvania and Colorado. He was a member of the NRA, the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and the National Wild Turkey Federation.

Deoleo, 62, of Lancaster, PA, formerly of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on October 5th, 2022 at his residence following a long illness. Born in Santo Domingo, he was the son of Heriberta Rodriguez Vda De Oleo of Lancaster and the late Daniel Enrique De Oleo. He was the husband of Rosanna Deoleo for 16 years.

Following Jesus Christ and serving the church was the foremost importance to Ruben. He became an ordained Mennonite pastor in the Dominican Republic and was a member and former pastor of Alpha and Omega Church of the Brethren in Lancaster. Recently, he was being ministered to by Laurel Street Mennonite Church. Ruben was also Director for Multi-Cultural Ministries with the Church of the Brethren denomination in Elgin, IL and worked with the Atlantic Northeast District Church of the Brethren as Coordinator for Hispanic Ministry. He also planted and helped to develop new congregations.

Ruben was well-educated and had an entrepreneurial spirit. He earned a degree in Law from University O&M in Santo Domingo where he later practiced law. He also held license to be a real estate agent and notary public. Ruben was a chaplain to members of the armed forces in New Jersey and prison chaplain in Harrisburg for 14 years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Marirub Daribel Deoleo, Ruben Deoleo, and Ruby Mabel Deoleo Pierre, wife of Herby Pierre; two grandchildren; and seven siblings, Celvia Melania Gonzalez, Servio Elias De Oleo Rodríguez, Belkys Mabel De Oleo de Gil (wife of Cruz Magdaleno Gil), Daniel Isaias D’Oleo (husband of Oriceida D’Oleo), Sarah Esther De Oleo (wife of Cesar Pereyra Guerrero), María Pilar De Oleo (wife of Albert Dolbow), and Fernando Casanova.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 9 at 4:00 p.m. at Mountville Church of the Brethren, 60 Clay Street, Mountville, PA. There is no public viewing. Obituary Preview: Lonny Lee Wanner, 67, of Elizabethtown, PA, formerly of Middletown, went home to be with his Savior on Friday afternoon, September 23, 2022 at Hershey Medical Center following a long battle with cancer. Born in Lancaster County, he was the son of the late Earl C. Wanner and the late Ellen E. Brenner Wanner Tetzloff.

Lee accepted Christ’s gift of salvation and became a member of Chiques Church of the Brethren in Manheim. He was the owner of Lee’s Scrap Removal. He was widely known as he gathered discarded metal to recycle. Earlier in his life, he was employed as a taxi driver in Harrisburg.

When an audience was present, Lee enjoyed being a “showman”. He loved to dance and sing karaoke at The Social Club, American Legion, VFW, and other social clubs in the area. He was a diehard Pittsburgh Steelers fan and had a collection of Steelers memorabilia. Lee was a generous person and took pleasure in giving gifts to others.

Lee is survived by a daughter, Kelly M. Witten, wife of Kevin D. Joy, of Harrisburg; five grandchildren; a sister, Jenny E., wife of William Corrigan, of Manchester, TN; and several nieces and nephews. Lee would have been a great grandfather in December to a baby girl. He was also preceded in death by five siblings, Earl S. Wanner, Sr., Harry C. Wanner, Harvey S. Wanner, Larry Wanner, and Mary E. Johnson.

He worked as an insurance agent for Prudential and later became a realtor in Lititz. Throughout Hacky’s lifetime, he was an avid sports fanatic. When he wasn’t participating in sports himself, he spent decades coaching, encouraging and inspiring young athletes especially girls’ basketball as well as other coaches. Many people have shared over the decades with his daughter the knowledge and wisdom that Hacky had for the game of basketball. In addition to coaching, he enjoyed gathering with his family and friends to play poker and golf. You’re going to be missed, “Daddy,” “Coach,” and Hacky.”Hacky is survived by his loving daughter, Jennifer J. After her children were raised, she began a delightful 22 years of employment with Manheim Auto Auction working in the cafeteria. Barbara was a lifelong member of White Oak Church in Manheim where she helped in the library for many years. She was also a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of Gideons International and Farm Women’s Society. Although widely known as a great cook, Barbara specialized in baking pies. She also enjoyed raising flowers and cherished a variety of antiques in her home. In addition to her husband, she is survived by five children, Barbara Jean, wife of the late Bennett G. Born on the family farm in Rapho Twp., he was the son of the late Lewis D. and Dorothy G. Shenk Sauder. He was the husband of Krista F. Smith Sauder for 46 years on September 27. Lester was raised in the Chiques Church of the Brethren and recently was attending Ruhl’s United Methodist Church, both in Manheim. From an early age, he developed a strong work ethic working for his father on the family farm and with the family concrete business. He graduated from Manheim Central High School in 1970 and acquired the concrete business from his father in 1977. Lester changed the name to Sauder Brothers Concrete, Inc., and remained president of the company until his passing. Lester had a daily ritual of rising early and being at work by 4 AM. Later in the morning he was having breakfast at Quentin Haus Restaurant where he may return for lunch. His greatest pastimes were spending time with the family at their cabin and on their pontoon boat at Raystown Lake. He also enjoyed attending his sons’ and grandchildren’s sporting activities. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Jeremy L. Sauder of Manheim and Jason R., husband of Alisa A. Dupler Sauder of Manheim; six grandchildren, Austin, Colin, Madison, Landen, Amelia, and Lillian; and six siblings, David, husband of the late June Sauder, of Elizabethtown, Abraham, husband of Bonnie Sauder, of Schwenksville, Rosanne, wife of Irving Fritz, of Manheim, Barry, husband of Bobbe Sauder, of Manheim, Deborah, wife of Doug Krasley, of Cornwall, and Bonnie, wife of Clair Hoover, of Manheim; and a brother-in-law, Larry, husband of the late Nancy Sauder Sawadsky of Elizabethtown. In addition to being an extremely giving person, Linda was also quite social. She was a former member of the Hamilton Club, the Lebanon Riding Club, and played on a tennis league. One of her greatest pleasures was going out to eat with friends. She also was dedicated to serving others and previously volunteered her time with the Junior League. Her sense of flair was demonstrated by her love for British drama and wearing hats.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two children, Paul A. Weber, Jr. of Manheim and Katy F., wife of Samuel D. Abram, Jr., of Lebanon; and two grandchildren, who she adored, Madeleine and Sammy Abram. Linda was affectionately known as “Mimi” by her grandchildren and “Queen Mum” by her son-in-law.

Obituary Preview: Richard Lewis “Dick” Crill, 93, of Lancaster, PA, slipped into the arms of Jesus in the early morning of October 25, 2021 at Lancaster General Hospital. He was the loving husband of Reba (Longenecker) Crill for 45 years. He was born on June 17, 1928 in Mercer, PA to the late Kenneth M. and Marian (Ritner) Crill.

Dick graduated from Mercer High School and served in the United States Army from 1951-53 during the Korean War. As a child, he began his life-long career working in his grandfather’s hardware store in Mercer. His hardware career spanned 50 years, traveling as a wholesale hardware salesman for 35 of those years.

Dick was a member of Calvary Church in Lancaster and the Stonecroft Susquehanna Valley Couples Connection. Dick enjoyed RVing with Reba and their friends, especially the time spent in Venice, Florida each winter. Reading and puzzles were favorite pastimes in his later years.

Family was of utmost importance to Dick. In addition to his wife, he will be deeply missed by a daughter, Kathleen R., wife of Jeffrey Clark, of Elizabethtown, and his three grandchildren, Jonathan (Lindsay) Clark, Justin Alysha) Clark, and Kiersten (Matthew) Landrum. “Grandpa” also leaves behind two great grandsons, Josiah and Wesley Clark, and two great granddaughters, Gracie and Zoe Clark. He was predeceased by brothers Ronald and Stewart, and sisters Anna (Crill) Burbridge and Marilyn (Crill) Auchincloss.
