Kimberly Jean Krouskop - November 08, 1968 - September 04, 2018

Departed: 09/04/2018 (Pinetop)
Obituary Preview: Kimberly Jean Krouskop, age 49, passed away suddenly Tuesday, September 4th, 2018 after a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis. She was born November 8th, 1968 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Glenna Jean Sandberg.
Kim grew up in Sandy, Utah and graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1987. After graduation, she attended Snow College in Ephraim, Utah where she met the love of her life, Jeff. They were married September 2nd, 1989. Together with her husband, she completed a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Utah and went on to become a labor and delivery nurse in the United States Public Health Service Commissioned Corps as a Lieutenant JG upon retirement. After moving around to a few various states, Kim and Jeff welcomed their first daughter, Haley, in 1998. Later, Kim and her family settled in Sitka, Alaska and brought their second daughter, Emily, and first son, Jace, into the world in 2001 and 2005, respectively. Kim will be remembered as an incredibly caring wife, mother, daughter, and friend. An avid lover of tattoos, she has many meaningful works of art on her back, each having a very personal meaning about herself and her family. In her free time, Kim would almost always have a book in her hand and a diet coke with lemon in her glass; she loved anything Stephen King or Laurel K. Hamilton. Out of all the things she loved, her family was at the top of the list; she loved her husband, children, and mother with a ferocity that knew no bounds and would always make it known to them. Copper Mead Rens Mainwaring - October 07, 1930 - June 01, 2018

Departed: 06/01/2018 (Pinetop)
Obituary Preview: On June 1, 2018, at age 87, Copper went to be with the Lord. Born Myra Schussler in 1930, as a young woman she was called “Copper” because of her red hair and she was known by this nickname for the rest of her life. While a freshman in college, Copper was diagnosed with Type I, insulin dependent diabetes, which she lived with for the next 70 years. During her first year teaching in Tucson, AZ, she met Chuck Mead and they married on July 4, 1953. The following spring they moved to Alaska, driving the 4000 miles in their Ford coupe and camping out along the way. Settling in Anchorage, Chuck worked various jobs and Copper taught elementary school and gave birth to a daughter, Michel (known as Mike), and a son, Patton (known as Pat). While in Anchorage, Copper put her faith in Jesus Christ and was a faithful follower and outspoken witness for Him the rest of her life. In 1958, Chuck and Copper were granted a 160 acre homestead on the Kenai Peninsula. The family moved onto the virgin land and lived in a tiny travel trailer with no plumbing, no water, and no electricity while they hand-dug a well, cleared land for planting, and built a house. They were part of a supportive community which included a small church pastored by Ray Mainwaring who became a lifelong friend. In 1962, the Meads abruptly left the homestead and moved to California, then to Tucson. In 1967, while vacationing in the White Mountains, Copper was hired by the Pinetop-Lakeside school district, and the family moved into a log cabin in Lakeside. She taught in Lakeside off and on until her retirement. In 1971, the family moved to Marina del Rey, California, and onto a 40 foot sail boat. After three years of living aboard, and an extended cruise to Baja California, they sold the boat and returned to Lakeside. After 35 years, the marriage ended and Chuck moved out of the area. Copper taught at the American Indian Mission in Linden until marrying Willard Rens of Show Low. Following Willard’s death, she married her old friend Ray Mainwaring. After Ray’s death, Copper lived with her son and daughter-in-law, Pat and Dana Mead of Pinedale. For the past four years, she has lived in Snowflake at Freeland Manor (formerly the Webb Home). The family is grateful for her long life and many years of good health despite her serious illness. We have calculated that she gave herself over 75,000 insulin injections through the course of her life. Despite her health challenges she lived an extraordinary life, traveling the gravel AlCan highway to the Territory of Alaska, homesteading on the Kenai Peninsula, living aboard a sailboat, and teaching hundreds of students. She was an unconventional woman who was always up for the next adventure. She is survived by her daughter, Michel Waddell and son-in-law, Lee; her son, Pat Mead and daughter-in-law, Dana; five grandchildren and twelve (soon to be thirteen) great grandchildren. Although she was known for her love of flowers, the family believes she would have appreciated knowing that a charitable donation was made to Child Evangelism Fellowship in her memory.

Alex Clinton Taylor - Unknown - May 01, 2018

Departed: 05/01/2018 (Pinetop)
Obituary Preview: Alex Clinton Taylor unexpectedly went to be with his Lord on May 1, 2018. He was born April 25th, 1986 to his loving parents Terry and Sheila Taylor in Fort Stockton, Texas; moving to Georgia and then to Show Low, Arizona where he grew up. When Alex was three years old his brother and best buddy, Adam Taylor, was born. His life growing up was surrounded in love and closeness. Having many memories of doing everything together, gave him the foundation of the Amazing Man he became. He graduated from Show Low High and went on to obtain an Associate’s Degree in Ministry; with a desire to travel and play his music. On June 28th, 2008 he married his love and long time best friend, Amy Taylor. They had a love and bond so strong that they were truly one person together. He was a man of many traits, talents and hobbies. He was a devoted family man who never liked being away from them. With his wife they created a beautiful family that did everything together. There could never be a more loving father who knew just how to talk to and love each of his children: Melissa, Silas and Kaylee, in their own special way. They shared hobbies like camping, fishing, hunting, motorcycles, trucks, welding and music. Music was more than a hobby, it was his soundtrack to life. Everything involved music. He played drums for his heavy metal band “Rage the Enemy”, while also playing all instruments for his worship ministry, “Once Darkness”. Going to small town concerts with his wife, was their favorite date night. He always said that he would rather be identified as ‘crucified’ rather than a ‘Christian”, because he wanted to live as Jesus lived. His love for God was the core of his being. His whole future was filled with plans of helping others, going wherever there was a need so that he could reach out his hand to help. He was the kind of man that if you knew him, you loved him. There will always be a huge hole in the hearts of those who loved him and he will be greatly missed, always remembered and constantly loved.
He is survived by his parents: Terry and Sheila Taylor; his wife: Amy Taylor; his children: Melissa, Silas and Kaylee Taylor; his brother: Adam Taylor; grandparents: Bill & Nancy Reed, Ervin & Barbara Dimick and Faye Taylor as well as aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
