Christopher Andrews (Ashley) of Prospect, daughters Shelley Jordan (Gino) of Glen Allen, VA, Rebecca Hailey-Tompkins (Leslie) of Jetersville, VA.  10 grandchildren, sisters Mary Ann Faucette (Gene) and Jackie Davis.

He is survived by his two sons Carter Huddleston and Jonathan Case, father Thomas (Jack) Huddleston and brother Rodney Huddleston.  He is preceded in death by his daughter Corrine Huddleston and mother Rosalyn Huddleston.
Chris will best be remembered as the guy who could fix anything with a motor. For many years when not working he could be found in his garage working on anything that would run. His life revolved around dirt bikes and 4-wheelers. Both of which he passed the love on to his children. Family events revolved around riding the trails or hanging out at the lake.

He was born in Grainger County, TN on January 2, 1930 and moved to Farmville, VA at the age of 16.  He passed away on February 7, 2022 at his home surrounded by family.  He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Elizabeth Senger Manis, children – Thomas David Manis (Kathi), Carl Alan Manis (Charity), grandchildren – Mollie Miller (Mark), Ben Manis (Katie), great grandchildren – Macie Miller, Maxden Miller, Mary Grace Manis, Maddie June Manis.  Siblings – Vaughn Manis, Hugh Manis (Helen), Jack Manis (Betty), Ruby Harris, Paul Manis (Brenda). He had many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.
He was preceded in death by his daughter – Patricia Lynn Manis, parents – David Arthur Manis and Mollie Huskey Manis, siblings – Glenn Manis, Lucille West, Betty Carr.
He was very proud to have served in the Army during the Korean War.
He worked for Continental Can Company for 30+ years and then did bulldozer work for many more years.  After retirement his hobby was cutting firewood and giving it away.

Kris was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Her true passion was caring for her community, especially the incarcerated, as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.
In her free time, Kris was an avid gardener, Billy Idol Fan, and animal lover. She would spend countless hours enjoying a Ken Follett book on her porch overlooking her beloved Maras, horses and multiple other pets. Her granddaughter, Madelyn, was the apple of her eye and they enjoyed baking delicious desserts together.
Krista was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Don Casebolt, and her father, Norbert Gurbacki of Buffalo. Krista is survived by fiancé, Alberto Cabral-Rojas, her daughter Nicole Gilman of Fredericksburg, VA, her son-in-law, Alex Gilman, and her grandchildren, Madelyn Marie and Benjamin Joseph. She is also survived by her sisters, Kim Cygan of Boston, NY and Kelly Madera of Waldorf, MD.

Evelyn is survived by her two sons, Robert Gary and Joseph Lyn (Cindy), three grandchildren, Olivia Ford (Andrew Lewis), Jesse Wilkinson(Ashley), Jason Wilkinson, great grandson Evan Wilkinson, brother John H. Staples, and special pet, a cat “Muffin”.
A visitation will be held at Shorter Funeral Home in Farmville, Virginia on Tuesday, January 18th.  Family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm.  A graveside service and interment will be held at Crewe Cemetery on Wednesday, January 19th at 2:00 pm friends are welcomed.

Minnie retired from the Virginia Employment Commission where she worked after traveling the world with her military husband. Surviving her is her daughter, Sharon McNeal of Gloucester, four grandchildren: Robert Anderson III of Buckingham, Robert McNeal Jr. of Indiana, James Anderson of Cumberland, and Roselyn McNeal of Gloucester, and one brother, Clayton Thompson of Farmville. Preceding her in death is her husband, Robert Anderson Sr., son, Robert Anderson Jr., son-in-law, Robert McNeal, her parents, Arthur and Bertha Thompson, 5 brothers: Lewis, Earl, George, Roscoe, and David Thompson, and four sisters, Della Mendez, Dora Mendez, Lucy Thompson, and Betty Hubbard. Minnie loved working in her garden and sharing bookmarks, cards, and pictures that she created with flowers she dried and pressed herself. She loved spending time researching family history, sharing family photos, and taking pictures of everyone and everything. Most of all she loved collecting glassware, Minnie Mouse memorabilia, and attending/hosting yard sales. She will be greatly missed and always cherished as the strong loving woman everyone knew her as.

She was born in Pulaski, Wisconsin. She lived a fulfilling life as a Navy wife for 24 years. She had 5 children and traveled the East Coast until her family was transferred to Oahu, Hawaii for 4 years. She loved crocheting, reading, crafts and cooking family dinners. She was a member of the Virginia Beach United Methodist Church. Her contributions to the lives of many included the love for ceramics and teaching all ages. Her loving care for babies and children at the church nursery as well as taking care of her own grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a long time member of the Women of the Aragona Moose Lodge.
She was preceded in death by her parents Mr. and Mrs. Leo Leonhard, her husband Norman W. Davis, and her daughter Catherine Miller.
She is survived by her sons Daniel Davis, wife Tami, Michael Davis and wife Kathryn, her daughters Debra Vass husband Arnold and Teresa Cowan and husband Patrick. She has many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren.
At this time there will not be a celebration of life for Jayne. We will be making plans to celebrate in the spring which she loved. Memorial contributions may be made to Parkinson’s disease and Dementia research. Shorter Funeral Home is serving the family.

She is survived by her daughter Debbie (Tommie) Leatherwood of Farmville; grandchildren Nicole Massie of Texas and Joshua Ryan of Florida; special friends Mary Phaup, Peggy Emert and Mae Goforth and loving niece Judy Giles Ownby.

Jane was devoted to her family and had a personality all her own. Whether she was giving you one of her strong hugs or calling you a “peach” you could be sure she was gonna say exactly what she was thinking.she was a devoted animal lover and a stray animal never went without food as long as she had any say in it.
A memorial service will be held at the Farmville Campus of Passion Community Church at 382 Fairgrounds Rd on Saturday  November 13, 2021 at 2 pm.

For more than 40 years, she worked in the first making department at Craddock-Terry Shoe Factory. As a side job, she worked for The Weyanoke Hotel where she retired as a waitress. Pearl served many delicious meals to customers throughout the community who soon became her life-long friends. She was a fond lover of bluegrass music and her special friends, Peggy and Jimmy Lewis would pick her up on Fridays and head to the Philbeck House in Keysville where they enjoyed many evenings of music and fellowship with friends and family.  For many years, she attended Glenn Memorial Baptist Church in Prospect.
She is survived by two brothers, Henry (Joyce) Fulcher, of Farmville and David Fulcher, of Dillwyn; five sisters, Elsie St. John of Richmond, May Fulcher of Farmville, Marie Garrett, of Dillwyn, Nancy LeSueur, of Ruffin, NC and Betty Fulcher of Lynchburg; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Jim Fulcher, Joe Fulcher and John Fulcher.

Obituary Preview: Betty Jean Irving Whitt went to be her heavenly Father on October 18. Born August 29, 1940, in Farmville, VA, she was the daughter of Richard M. and Gay C. Thackston.
Betty Jean graduated from Worsham School in 1958 and went on to attend Southside Virginia Community College. Her greatest joys were her five daughters and their families. She was a well-read, avid reader and very much enjoyed Jeopardy. Betty Jean also enjoyed helping people. If she knew of a need, she would find a way to help. She especially loved feeding those in her community. In addition, she was quite witty and very spontaneous. She touched many lives in meaningful ways.
Betty Jean is preceded in death by her parents and her sister Annie Marie Doughty. She is survived by her brother, Richard Thackston (Betty); daughter, Jennifer Wall; daughter, Vivian Irving; daughter, Stephanie Adams (Will); daughter, Charlie Vass; and daughter, Emily Irving; as well as her beloved grandchildren, Matthew Adams, Sarah (Rusty) Montgomery, Hannah (John) Kearney, Peyton and Guy Wall, and Benjamin Vass.
A memorial celebration of her life will be held at a later date at College Church, Hampden-Sydney. Memorial contributions may be made to Piedmont Senior Resources.

She also had 5 great-grandchildren DJ Williams, Sydney Hobgood, Olivia Wilkerson, Levi Williams, and Mason Williams.
She is also survived by sisters Roberta Brown of Virginia Beach, Roseanne Raspone, Connie Hanson and brother Issac Wilkerson, Jr all of Clarkston, WA., and numerous nieces and nephews.
At a young age, Beverly married John Ray Wilkerson, Sr and raised their two sons in Prospect, VA. She worked at Craddock Terry Shoe Factory & various garment factories. She was a member of Prospect United Methodist Church.
After retirement, Beverly spent her days at Farm Ridge Apartments where she was active in the extra-curricular activities. She enjoyed visiting and helping her neighbors in the community. Her favorite past time was watching the New York Yankees play baseball on TV, along with old movies and westerns. In the last year of life, Beverly lived with her son and daughter in law. She enjoyed spending time with family on a daily basis.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday October 17, 2021 at 3:00PM in Olive Branch Cemetery in Prospect, VA.

Joyce was born March 11, 1949. She was the daughter of Pauline Leatherwood McKay and Herman Coolidge Leatherwood. Joyce was raised in Prince Edward County, where she later raised her 3 children, Jody Hobgood (Gus) of Meherrin, Jay Shelton (Nancy) of Farmville, and John Shelton (Cathie) of Farmville. Joyce had much love for her 5 grandchildren Amanda (Kyle) Sealey, Justin Shelton, Quentin Hobgood, Rachel Hobgood and Sydney Shelton. Joyce also had a special place in her heart for her 2 great-granddaughters Adira and Celia Sealey.  Joyce worked for Hampden-Sydney Dining Services and for Brookview Lodge as a cook for 23 years. Joyce was very fond of all of her animals, especially her dog Sugar. She is preceded in death by both parents and her stepfather, Martin Lester  McKay. Special thanks to all the nurses at The Woodland Nursing and Rehab.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at 2:00PM in Trinity Memorial Gardens. Shorter Funeral Home is serving the family.
