She graduated from Shawnee Mission South High School in Overland Park, Kansas in 1974. She then attended Stanford University where she graduated in three years with a bachelor’s degree in Communications. Annette continued her education with an MBA degree from the University of Kansas and a JD degree from the University of Missouri at Kansas City.
Pursuing career opportunities, Annette moved to the Gaithersburg area in 1985. She held positions at Covance Health, Naviscan, and Montgomery County Agricultural Center.
Annette became a mother to her two sons whom she adopted from Russia.
Annette was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Dorothy Parness, of Overland Park, Kansas. She is survived by her sons, Michael and Benjamin Parness of Gaithersburg, Maryland; her sister Barbara Parness of Overland Park, Kansas; her sister and brother-in-law, Michele (Parness) and John Simari of Plano, Texas; and her two nephews and their spouses, Scott and Deanna Simari of Irving, Texas and Matthew and Mackenzie Simari of Seattle, Washington.
Annette was laid to rest at Garden of Remembrance Memorial Park in Clarksburg, Maryland. The family asks that any contributions in memory of Annette be made to the National Kidney Foundation (www.kidney.org).
