Gene was born on May 16, 1935, in Santa Fe, a son of the late Cecil T. and Elsie Cummins Oakley. He was preceded in death by a son, Randy Oakley, a granddaughter, Holly Oakley, and four siblings, Cecil H. Oakley, Ronald Oakley, Jimmy J. Oakley, and Judy K. Trent.
Gene married Shirley Longbrake on August 19, 1953, and she survives. He is also survived by a daughter, Kathy (Jeremy Tidd) McVety of Santa Fe, five grandchildren, Erica Oakley, Tim (Chelsea) McVety, Jenna (Jesse) Kite, Brad (Sara) Oakley and Jaime (Steve) Spofford, 10 great grandchildren, Kaya, Aliyah, Ella, Blake, Zeke, Luke, Jace, Lindsey, Stevie, and Makenna, family friend and caretaker, Vickie Morris and several nieces and nephews.
Gene was a 1953 graduate of Stokes Local School. He retired from Airstream after 48 years in 1997. Gene was a member of Grace Chapel Christian Union Church in Santa Fe. He enjoyed being outdoors, especially fishing and take his trips to Michigan for mushroom hunting, and watching racing. Gene was mechanically inclined, who could fix most anything, and was an excellent wood craftsman. Gene loved being around his family and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Linda was born on October 9, 1943, in Lima, OH, a daughter of the late John E. Early, Sr., and Edith B. Miller Early. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, James M. Early and Donald R. Early and close friends, Colleen Reed Jennings, and Kayleen Reed Ziegler.
Linda is survived by her five children, Tami (Barney) Ankrom, James (Debbie) Timms, II, John Timms, Tina (Doug Shaw) Timms, and Terry (Sharon Aucreman) Timms, 15 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, her sister, Patricia Ann Yocum and brother, John E. (Carol) Early, Jr., close longtime friends, Jeanne Ann Souder Williams, Violet Sanders Wise, Judy Hoverman Mowery and Verna Weaver, and several nieces and nephews.
Linda was a 1961 graduate of Indian Lake High School, its inaugural class where she was a 4-year majorette, and senior homecoming attendant. She was also a former member of the Indian Lake Order of Rainbow Girls. Linda enjoyed music, singing and being outdoors. Her greatest love was her family.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 19, 2021, at Shoffstall Funeral Home North Chapel, 115 N. Main St, Lakeview with visitation from noon – 2PM. Burial is in Walnut Hill Cemetery, New Hampshire, OH.

Donna was born on April 2, 1928 in Santa Fe, OH, a daughter of the late Noah Edward Nelson and Lula McBride Fite. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Alva Alltop, a son, Andy Alltop, a daughter, Margaret Shields and three sisters, Virginia Parr, Betty Smith, and Twila Wise.
On March 19, 1955, she married Ronald “Jack” Robinson in New Castle, IN and he survives. They would have celebrated 66 years of marriage. She is also survived by three children, Chris (Damon) Cockrel of Delaware, OH, Ronda (Ernie) Pitchford of Kingsport, TN, and Carol (Ron) Goings of West Liberty, OH, a son-in-law, Rob (Vicki) Shields of Bellefontaine, seven grandchildren, Chad Keller, Dereck (Lindsey) Keller, Corey (Amanda) Pitchford, Megan (Bryan) Ropp, Caleb (Ellina) Shields, AJ Goings, and Carlee Goings, and 11 great grandchildren, Makenzie (Cole) Gordon, Hayden Keller, Kyler Keller, Trinity Pitchford, Miles Pitchford, Silas Pitchford, Calynn Ropp, Kaden Ropp, Maggie Ropp, Zeke Ropp, and Ansley Shields.
Donna was a 1946 graduate of Stokes Local School in Lakeview, OH. She formerly worked at Copeland in Sidney, OH and One-Hour Martinizing in Bellefontaine. Donna enjoyed socializing taking drives and crocheting. Her greatest joy came from being with her family and talking with friends.
Reverend Bryan Meadows will begin funeral services at 1:00 pm, Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Shoffstall Funeral Home North Chapel, 115 N. Main St, Lakeview, with visitation from 11-1. Burial is in Walnut Hill Cemetery, New Hampshire, OH. Due to state Covid-19 pandemic guidelines, attendees are asked to be symptom free, maintain social distancing and wear a facial covering.

Rosalie was born on February 3, 1929 in New Hampshire, OH, a daughter of the late Thaddeus W. and Carrie S. Wallace Wagstaff. She married Joe Carter in Wapakoneta on February 15, 1947 and he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by four siblings, Alvin Wagstaff, Ellsworth Hutchison, William Hutchison and Frederick Hutchison.
Rosalie is survived by six children, Lana (Glenn) Williams of Lima, OH, Renay (Rick) Fullerton of Bellefontaine, Scott (Jill) Carter of Pinehurst, NC, Tammy (Mike) White of Lima, Tim Carter of Lima, and Nannette (Nick) Schneider of Cleveland, TN, 17 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, a sister, Evelyn (Gerald) Ferguson of Miamisburg, OH, and several nieces and nephews.
Rosalie was a 1947 graduate of Waynesfield-Goshen High School. She was a member of New Hampshire United Methodist Church. Her love of music was encompassing including singing, playing piano and dancing. Rosalie was an avid fan of the OSU Buckeyes and Cincinnati Reds. Her greatest joy came from being with her family and seeing her grandchildren, watching them in their many activities.
Visitation will be from 4-7 pm, Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at Shoffstall Funeral Home North Chapel, 115 N. Main St, Lakeview. A private family service will be held 11:00 am, October 29th with burial in Walnut Hill Cemetery. Barbara was born on August 19, 1939, a daughter of the late Irene Haines Jackson and PW Jackson. She married Robert L. “Bob” Luebben on February 15, 1975 in Marysville and he preceded her in death on February 19, 2018.
Barb is survived by a daughter, Tanya Graham of Marysville, two stepdaughters, Lori Moore of Pioneer, OH and Kimberley Haines of Grove City, five grandchildren, Marissa Graham, Ian Graham, Kelly Haines, Corinne Haines, and Joshua King, three great grandchildren, Dominic Marino, Sidney King and Bailey King, and her beloved kitty companions, Fuzzy and Tripper.
Barb was a 1957 graduate of Marysville High School. She and her mother owned and operated Marysville Paint and Decorating. She was a member of Indian Lake Community Church in Russells Point, OH. She also volunteered at the Indian Lake Food Pantry and supported St Jude’s and Humane Society. Barb enjoyed being with Bob and took enjoyment snowmobiling, riding waverunners or boating on Indian Lake. She enjoyed holidays and special occasions with family and friends. Barb was a compassionate and generous person who would help anyone in need.
Pastor Jim Ellington will begin funeral services at 11:00 am, Monday, November 4, 2019 at Indian Lake Community Church, 121 N Main St, Russells Point, OH 43348. Darlene was born March 19, 1929, in North Canton, OH to the late Paul and Florence Essig Broeske.
In 1951, she married Rod Gray and he proceeded her in death in 1996. In 2000 she married Nile Kamp and he survives along with three Children, Timothy Gray, Diane (David) Chadwick and Scott (Kimberly) Gray, two sisters, one brother, 17 grandchildren, 33, great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Darlene was a graduate of North Canton High School class of 1947, attended Wittenberg University and Graduated from Then Ohio State University with an Education Degree in 1951. She taught 5th and 6th grades at Waynesfield-Goshen and started the girls Physical Education Program there in the early 1950’s retiring from there in 1995.
Reverend Jean Horn and Reverend Jon Horn will officiate a funeral service at 5 P.M. on Monday, August 12, 2019 at Shoffstall Funeral Home, 115 N. Main St. Lakeview, with visitation from 2 until the time of service.

On February 24, 1996, he married Sharon Banning Miller at the Galilee Lutheran Church in Russells Point, OH and she survives. He is also survived by six children, Greg (Wendy) Peters of Buford, GA, Patty (Bob) McGee of Springfield, Krista (William) Williams of Blanco, TX, Tamara (Curtis) Johnson of Russells Point, Connie (Rick) Reames of West Liberty, OH and Kenny (Ashley) Miller of Sidney, OH, 13 grandchildren, Brad Peters, Jennifer Peters, Kyle Peters, John Henkle, Maddison Noffsinger, Reesa-Kate Henkle, Zachary Reames, Stacy Jones, Josh Jones, Maddy Miller, Kayden Miller, Riley Miller, and Kenley Miller, and three great grandchildren, Carter James Peters, Cali Jones and Remi Jones.
Allan was a 1957 graduate of Springfield Catholic School. He retired from Grimes Aerospace in Urbana after 40 years and then worked for Jackson Center Schools. He was a member of Indian Lake Eagles Aeries #3615 and Doyle R. Miller Amvet Post #39, both of Lakeview, OH. He enjoyed singing, camping, boating, and golfing. Allan had a great sense of humor and loved his family, grandchildren, cats, and being around his many friends.

She is survived by stepchildren, Gene (Delores) Shoffner of California, Robert (Roberta) Mallonee of Beavercreek, OH, Linda (Ray) Basil of Lakeview, Melanie Tracy and Dixie Alexander, both of New Hampshire, OH, Paul Anthony Alexander of Marion, OH, and George Thomas (Holly) Alexander of Gahanna, OH, sisters-in-law, Jan Wilt of Huntsville, OH and Betty Bondurant of Green Valley, AZ, daughter-in-law, Theresa Alexander of Lewistown, OH, many step-grandchildren, step-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Ruth attended the Indian Lake and New Hampshire Nazarene Churches. She was a graduate of the Lewistown High School Class of 1943, and a member of the Wally Byam Caravan Club. She loved traveling to Alaska, and fishing. She cleaned cottages around Indian Lake as a housekeeper.

Mary Lou was born to Paul and Cleo Line Morris on March 19, 1936 in Lakeview, Ohio. Mary Lou was a 1954 graduate of Stokes High School, Lakeview. On September 14, 1955, she married John D. Bault, Jr., who preceded her in death, just days prior to their 60th wedding anniversary in 2015. Also preceding Mary Lou was her beloved sister, Colleen Cummins, who she missed daily.
Mary Lou is survived by her children, John (Brenda) Bault and Susan (Glenn) Tenhundfeld; grandchildren, Jack (Danielle) Bault, Ashley Bault (T.J. Williams), Andrea (Dan) Burroughs and Jay Tenhundfeld; great-grandchildren, Bailey Bault, Jackson Bault and Aria Williams, (arriving in September) and also her sister in law, Sharlene Bault.
Over the years, Mary Lou worked at the White Memorial Library, Gray's Orange Barn, and Hoffman IGA. An avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan, as well as, a Cincinnati Reds fan, she rarely missed a televised game. Mary Lou's favorite past times were completing crossword and jigsaw puzzles, reading and enjoying her grandchildren's sporting events. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 30, 2018 at Shoffstall Funeral Home North Chapel, 115 N. On November 21, 1939, he married Esther M Beatty in Bellefontaine, and she preceded him in death on July 7, 2007. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Flynn, five sisters, Floss Kuaile, Myrtle Carroll, Agnes Lament, Alice Gould and Grace Kuaile, and five brothers, Roy Kuaile, Dale Kuaile, Ivan Kuaile and two infant brothers.
Robert is survived by two sons, John (Maureen) Kuaile of Belle Center, and Michael (Karen) Kuaile of Marysville, OH, two granddaughters, Kimberly S. Fleece and Sandi (Greg) Losh, two grandsons, Keith (Jenny) Watson, and Wesley (Christine) Watson, 9 great grandchildren, Riley, Steven, David, Christopher, Luke, Dylan, Clay, Henry and Peyton, one great-great granddaughter, Tatum and several nieces and nephews.
Robert was a 1936 graduate of Roundhead School. He was a United States Navy veteran serving in World War II. He worked at Clark Equipment in Lima, OH.
Funeral services will begin at noon Friday, June 22, 2018 at Shoffstall Funeral Home, North Chapel, 115 N. Main St., Lakeview. Visitation is Thursday, June 21st from 4-7 pm and Friday one hour prior to services. Burial is in Roundhead Cemetery with military honors provided by the Logan County Veterans Honor Guard.

On February 15, 1975, Bob married Barbara Beacom in Marysville, OH and she survives. He is also survived by two daughters, Kimberley Haines of Grove City, OH and Lori Moore of Pioneer, OH, three grandchildren, Kelly and Corinne Haines, and Joshua King, three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Bob was a graduate of Grove City High School. He and his family owned and operated Grove City Hardware for 45 years. Bob was a member of Indian Lake Community Church in Russells Point, OH. He was also a member of Indian Lake Moose Lodge #1533 and Indian Lake Eagles Aeries #3615. Bob enjoyed showing quarter horses, boating on Indian Lake and riding snowmobiles.

Oakley Jr. on August 3, 1951, and he preceded her in death on December 19, 1982. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Peggy Ann Oakley, a son, David A. Oakley, two sisters, Betty Piatt and Ann Atchinson, and a brother, Jim Adrian.
Marie is survived by two sons, Gary Oakley and Ronald Oakley, a daughter, Cindy Oakley, all of Santa Fe, two grandsons, Chad Oakley and Cory Oakley, three sisters, Sandy Yelton, Donna Moon, and Irene Penwell, four brothers, John Adrian, Jr., Ron Murray, Danny Amspaugh, and Raymond Amspaugh, Jr., and several nieces and nephews.
Marie enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and yard sales. Her greatest joy throughout her life came from being with her family.

He was born August 29,1935 on his family farm outside of Huntsville to Martha and Kenneth Scheurman. He was later adopted by his grandparents, Hazel and William J. Whitaker.
On August 10,1958, he married Elaine Kleczkowski in Baltimore, Maryland. She preceded him in death in 2010.
He served in the U.S. Army as an explosive ordnance disposal specialist stationed at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri and Fort George Meade in Maryland.
He was a lifelong farmer and also worked several years as a truck driver at Huntsville Grain Elevator, Ohio Ready Mix, Beard Oil Company and Ryder Trucking. In his earlier years, he also would break horses. He was a member of the Charles Collins American Legion Post 381, Huntsville and the Indian Lake Moose Lodge #1533.
He was a motor sports and motorcycle enthusiast.
He is survived by his three children: Cindy (Jamie) Harter of Grand Rapids, Ohio; Bill (Debi) Whitaker, Middletown, Ohio; and Rosanna Henry, Zanesfield, Ohio. He was blessed with grandchildren Brooke (Jason) Klaus; Josh Harter; Nathan (Jane) Henry; Jennifer (Tom) Garst; Cory (Timea) Whitaker; Seth Henry; Jonah Harter; Daniel Whitaker; Timmy (Andee) Lewis; Joey Lewis (Danielle Blair); Megan (Justin) Esmael; Tom (Gabrielle) Alig; and Addison (Brianne) Alig. He leaves behind great grandchildren: Blake, Noah, Hazel, William, Landen, Joseph, Morgan, Deliah, Luci, McKenna, Kaleigha, and Kinzlee and a sister Louise of Mansfield, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Dick.
Funeral services are 1:00 pm, Friday, May 26, 2017 at Shoffstall Funeral Home North Chapel, 115 N. Main St., Lakeview, OH 43331, with visitation from 11-1. Burial is in Huntsville Cemetery.

She is survived by a daughter, Karen Campbell of Jackson Center, OH, a granddaughter, Amber Hanley of Bellefontaine, OH, four great grandchildren, Allyssa, Amanda, Angel and David, a sister, Lela Purcell of Kenton, OH, two brothers, Carl Snedeker of Brookville, OH and Darold Snedeker also of Russells Point and several nieces and nephews and great uncles.
Jerry was a graduate of Washington Local Schools. She and her husband owned and operated Roy and Jerry’s Sohio Service Station and the Ritz Club in Lakeview. She retired from Heartland of Indian Lake and was a charter member of the Indian Lake Eagles Post #3615 in Lakeview.

Pearl worked in management prior to retirement. She enjoyed life, laughing, praising God and most importantly family gatherings. She attended church services at The Lighthouse at Indian Lake.

Obituary Preview: Lula Stratton Rice, of Lakeview, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family early, Tuesday morning, April 11, 2017 at Mary Rutan Hospital. She was a few days short of celebrating her 99th birthday (April 24, 1918). She was the fifth of six children born to Minnie Catherine Wale and Harry Wilbert Stratton. She survived brothers Ernest, Floyd, Walter “Tug”, Howard “Stroot” and sister Mabel Lu was born in Lakeview and grew up on the “Marsh” north of Indian Lake, played basketball for Stokes Twp School and married William B. Miller in Lakeview. They had sons, Gary, Harry and Barry and later as a single mother, she subsequently worked for Westinghouse. There she met Eldred Eugene “Gene” Rice and they were married on May 24th, 1957 and a son, Donald Eugene Rice was born, her fourth son. She lived most of her life in Lakeview, except for 10 ½ years in Southern California, Lu was a 12 year Lakeview council woman, and a member of Post 39, Amvets Auxiliary. After working at Westinghouse, she then worked and retired from Copeland. She was a loving and caring mother to four boys. A loving grandmother to 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren. She is survived by all of her children and her spouse Eldred Eugene “Gene” Rice. They had a long, wonderful and loving relationship of 60 years. She will be missed by many, many people. Viewing will be Thursday, April 13, 2017 from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm. Services will be Friday, April 14th at 1 pm conducted by grandson, Pastor Gregory Miller, at Shoffstall’s North Main Chapel in Lakeview, followed by a graveside service at Huntsville Cemetery. After he retired he co-owned and operated the NAPA store in Lakeview. In Carl’s 94 years there were so many things he did and so many things he watched change in the world. His stories were amazing to hear, and if you sat still, he could talk for hours. He was especially proud of his children and loved visiting with his grandchildren and great grandchildren as he said they kept him young. Carl lived a long wonderful life, and we hope that you were lucky enough to hear one of his many stories.
