Clarence is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Jean; children, Michael (Kelly), Andrew (Kathy), James (Janice), Christopher (Maryann) Sheufelt, Margo (Allan) Moltmaker, Tamara (Brian) Moore and Sharon Seller; grandchildren, Patrick, Nicholas, Christina, Phillip, Amy, Anna, Oliver, Megan, Cameron, Sam, Liam, Ethan, Clark and Nate; great granddaughter, Kate and many cousins in Perry, Michigan.
Clarence became an Eagle Scout at a young age. He enjoyed running marathons, nature and camping. He was a proud member of Acholic Anonymous, Lion’s Virtual Group and Westie Rescue of Michigan. He was a past election official for Norvell Township and worked to validate the 2010 and 2020 census.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, the Reverand Gregory R Wolfe. Sue is survived by her children, David (Christina) Wolfe of Westfield IN; Patrick, Kyle. Aimee (Steve) Reasoner, of Kalamazoo, MI; Katey, Abby, James, Lexie, Isaac. Bethany (Jon) Steele, of Navarre FL.
Sue was born in Battle Creek MI, to Joseph and Marilyn N Taylor. She graduated from Battle Creek Central in 1966, moving onto Central MI, to earn her BA of Science in Medical Technology. She enjoyed working in close-knit medical communities where her skills as a Med Tech were valued. She was able to use her strengths in various work environments.
Sue was a long-time member of the United Methodist Church, where her husband Greg served as a minister for 35 years in the West MI Conference. Recently, she attended the Jackson Free Methodist Church, where she was involved in supporting their missions and prayer team.
Sue loved being at the lake, riding on the boat and playing games and cards with her grandkids. Sue also enjoyed emailing friends and family, and traveling. Traveling fueled her passion for photography. After a trip to England in 1989, new friends became family and this sparked years of traveling back and forth across the pond, including one in 2022 on her own.
A Celebration of Life will be held on April 12, 2024 at 11am at Jackson Free Methodist Church, 2829 Park Dr Jackson, MI. The family will receive friends prior to the service at 10am with a light luncheon to follow.

Michael A. Palmer - September 11, 1954 - March 14, 2024

Obituary Preview: Michael A. Palmer (69), of Jackson, Michigan, passed away on March 14th, 2024.
Mike was born in Michigan, growing up in Grass Lake, graduating from Grass Lake High School, class of 1972. Upon graduation, Michael attended college with hopes of becoming a doctor, quickly deciding upon engineering. Michael worked many years as an engineer by day and his evenings and weekends spent on his biggest passion, perfecting his skill as a wildlife artist. Michael eventually became a full time wildlife artist.
Anyone that knew Michael understood his passion and his transcending talent for creating masterful works of art that literally take your breath away. Michael has displayed his passions throughout his lifetime, owning various art shops throughout Jackson County. In the 80’s he owned a small art gallery in downtown Grass Lake next to the train depot, later moving his shop to downtown Jonesville (Featherstone Gallery) and eventually creating a home within the art community at Art 634 in Jackson.
Michael is one of five hundred nationally recognized artists within the United States becoming a member of the Society of Animal Artists Art and the Animal in 2018. He was very proud of this lifetime accomplishment. He was also a member of the Jackson Civic Art Association, Ella Sharp Museum of Art and History and the Arts, (placing 3rd in their statewide art competition). He was also a member of the Arts and Cultural Alliance of Jackson. Meanwhile Mike opened an art gallery at Art 634 in Jackson (Brick Street Gallery), where many of his paintings are still displayed today. Along with painting, Michael had a love for woodworking, creating beautiful bird houses and lamps. He also enjoyed making pottery, jewelry and he even dabbled in candle making. He was truly a man of many talents.
Michael is survived by his daughter Jessica Straub (Palmer), her husband Bruce Straub and granddaughter, Kara. His son, Michael J. Palmer and his grandson, Brodey. His siblings, Bev Ewald, Sandra Lake, Beth Sanford and John Palmer and many nieces and nephews. He is proceeded in death by his parents, William and Opal Palmer.
Mike’s family along with his Art 634 friends, will be holding a memorial to commemorate his life time love for art, a celebration of his life will be held at 1 P.M. April 6, 2024 at the Art 634 building, 634 N. Mechanic St., Jackson, MI 49202.

Chris is survived by his forever soul mate Nicole Bacon and his children, Alexzandria, Sydney (Jerry) and Christopher Jr. Also surviving is his mother Michelle Capps, brother Keith (Kathleen) Capps, his sister Ariel Ciampa; Grandchildren Kashton, Jaylee, and Jerry Jr. And his forever brothers from other mothers. He was proceeded in death by his father, Cary Capps, of Nashville, TN. Chris was a roofer most of his adult life, and took pride in his workmanship. Some of his favorite pass times were camping, playing chess with his son, fishing, listening to music, and spending time with friends and family. Chris had a silly personality and enjoyed making people laugh. One of his favorite things to do with his grandkids were to share knock knock jokes. Chris will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him. Visitation will be Saturday, March 16, 2024 from 12 pm to 2 pm followed by a celebration of his life at 2 pm at Sherwood Funeral Home, Grass Lake.

She will always be cherished by her beloved husband, Larry Lienhart; daughter, Alison (Duncan) Lienhart; mother, Ilene Harmon; brother, Nick Harmon; as well as nieces, nephews, many loving family members and best friends. She was preceded in death by her infant son, Lawrence Lienhart Jr; father, Jackie A. Harmon; mother and father-in-law, Harold and Anna Lienhart. Deb was born in Marlotte, Michigan on October 17, 1963 and graduated from Mayville High School in 1981. She continued her education at Jackson Community College and Central Michigan University and received an Associates Degree in radio broadcast. Deb had a way of connecting with everyone. She was a great friend and was considered a family member to many. She enjoyed working with the public and was employed at Meijer for over 30 years. Deb loved to have a good time with friends and family. She will always be carried with us when we are on a Jeep trip, camping, road trips, or checking out a craft show. She was always willing to help others when she was able to. Even after her passing, she provided the gift of life by being an organ donor. She touched the hearts and lives of many and will be greatly missed by all. According to her wishes, cremation has been chosen and no services have been scheduled at this time. David went to be with his loving Savior on March 5th. He passed away at home with the assistance of Hospice care and his family by his side.
David was a lifelong resident of Jackson County, graduating from Jackson High School in 1961 where he was already serving in the Navy Reserve. After high school, he continued his service in the United States Navy and proudly served until 1967 on the USS ORION and USS PROTEUS. He returned to Jackson, where he later met the love of his life, Carol.
David worked in the same factory, as a tool and die machinist, until he retired from the Eaton Corporation in 2004. He enjoyed reading, listening to music, coloring, sudoku puzzles, bike riding, any kind of fishing, lawn work, and gardening. His special, never the same, always fresh, salsa recipe was an annual treat that his family eagerly anticipated.
David adored spending time with his grandchildren, biking with them, showing them the wildflowers, and teaching them to fish. He loved playing cards and board games with them, especially the marathon monopoly games. He also loved making them laugh and was notorious for his ‘drive by food drops’ at every family dinner.
David was a member of the Brooklyn Heart O’ The Lakes United Brethren church for over 40 years, and most recently attended the Heart O’ The Lakes Jackson campus. He loved studying the word of God and sharing Jesus with everyone, not just in word, but in his actions and expressions of love. David’s wish was that everyone would know the love of Christ just as he had received it.
David is survived by his loving wife, Carol L. Miles of 52 years and his 4 children, Gregory J. Miles of Mobile AL, Scott D. Miles of Napoleon MI, Laurine P. Windsor of Jackson MI, and Helen K. Langford (Jon) of Jackson Mi. He is survived by 9 grandchildren, Cassondra Miles, Sabrina Kuzminski (Ryan), Esther Paxton (Steven), John Windsor, James Windsor (Cheyann), Gabrielle Miles, Danielle Gibbs (Bridger), Murielle Miles, and Summer Langford, along with 7 great grandchildren.
David is preceded in death by his parents, Walter D. Miles and Marilyn J. Evanson (Arthur), as well as sister, Pamela J. Vincent and granddaughter, Elizabeth M. Windsor.
Per David’s wishes cremation has taken place and a private internment of ashes will occur. A celebration of life will be held on March 23, 2024 at 12 p.m. at Heart O’ the Lakes Brooklyn campus. The family will receive friends immediately prior to the service from 11-12 with a luncheon to follow.

departed this world on March 04, 2024. She was a loving daughter of the late Millard and Ulia Hashley, loving wife of Frederick Eugene “Gene” Carter and was married 58 years til his death in 2008. Predeceased by two brothers-Robert Hashley and Clarence Hashley; two sister-Sylvia Townsend and Elizabeth Cochrane.
She is survived by two daughters: Denise (Steve) Hayball and Arlene (Jim) O’Sullivan; six Grandchildren: Jerry (Sandi) Hayball, Ken (Lori Mayo) Hayball, Tara (Robbin) Ward, Chad (Tracey) Russell, James (Amber) O’Sullivan and Catelyn (Christian) Schuck, nineteen great-grand children, and six great-great-grandchildren, Sisters: Mary (Don) Dakin and Margaret (Mark) Cook; Brothers: Albert (Donna) Hashley and Howard (Joyce) Hashley. several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Dena graduated from Grass Lake High School in 1949. Worked for Ratel (Radio Television Products Corp.) for several years before it changed to the J.D. Cothran Company and when the business moved out of Grass Lake she retired.
Dena and Gene enjoyed traveling in their motor home across the country to visit family on the west coast and the gulf states. She enjoyed animals and being outside working in her flower gardens and visiting with neighbors on Clark Street in Grass Lake where they lived for 68 years. She moved to the John Ganton’s Countryside Facility on Robinson Road, Jackson in 2019.
The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at the Manor Facility for the care and friendship they gave her and helped her live a good life in her final years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Ignatius Morgel, and his siblings, Norbert, Florence, Virginia, and Rita. Don is survived by his wife, Judy Morgel, his loving children, Keith (Lisa) Morgel, Kevin (Joni) Morgel, Kathy Morgel, Kendall (Tiffanie) Morgel, and Kyle (Lindsay) Morgel, also by 15 Grandchildren and 10 Great-Grandchildren.
He retired from Chrysler Motors in 2004 after thirty-one years as a skilled trades machine repairman. His three great joys in life were rooting on the Red Wings (which he had done since the 1950s), watching pro wrestling with his faithful Shih tzu companion Bennie, and tending to his well-manicured yard.
He was a hard-working man who built a good life for his family and set the example for his children and their families. He was loved and will be dearly missed.

She graduated from Northwest High School in 1968 where she enjoyed sports. Wanda became an avid bowler and was a good fast pitch softball pitcher. She loved watching the Detroit Red Wings and attended many games.
Wanda was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Clark; mother, Beatrice Clark and her sister, Barbara Clark.
Wanda is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Kraig; daughter, Michelle (Todd) Saunders; grandchildren, Hannah Saunders and Jake Saunders; great granddaughter, Aviana O’Neill; brothers, Roger (Kathleen) Clark and Alan (Mary Jo) Clark.
Wanda loved going up to the cabin on the Muskegon River in Big Rapids for 25 years. She enjoyed going to all the grandkids sporting events, including baseball, basketball, softball and volleyball. Wanda spent many years running a daycare in her home and helped raise many children. She enjoyed quilting and made many quilts and bedspreads for family and friends. One of her biggest joys in life was going for rides and counting the number of deer we would see.

Mary is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Matthew; her children from her previous marriage, Tammy Bailey, Melissa McClain, Ronald Bailey Jr. and Jeffrey Bailey; step daughter, Toby (Michael) Rader; numerous grandchildren; siblings, Ruby, Doris and Helen; several nieces and nephews.
Mary Ann was raised on a little Cotton Farm in rural Manila, Arkansas. She was close to her sisters, Helen and Bobbie and enjoyed many adventures together during their childhood years. She attended and graduated from Lost Cane Elementary School in 1955. She played softball and basketball on the school teams. When she turned 18-year-old, she moved to Three Rivers Michigan to live with her older brother, Bill. She met Ronald L. Bailey of Three Rivers and had four children. She later divorced and eventually met and married Matthew Greiner from Pentwater, Michigan.
Mary had worked at Vista Grand Villa as a nurse’s aide for several years. She enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy and detective shows. Her last few years was physically challenged with the loss of her vision and inability to walk. Her husband was right there for her to ensure she had a quality of life to live until her last day. Mary Ann was the Matriarch of her family. Any child would be so lucky to have her for a mother. She is going to be so missed by all her family and close friends.
Per Mary Ann’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services.

Dora is survived by her children, Duane LaRocque, Brenda LaRocque and Mark LaRocque (Pauline Rocha); grandchildren, Daniel (Holly), Jesse, Marci, Heather, Austin (Allyson), Samantha (Darrin) and Bradley; 8 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Dora was a life member of the Women’s Auxiliary American Legion Post# 416 St. Helen, Michigan and held positions of District President and Auxiliary President. She had worked for Michigan Bell as an operator for many years and retired from Erb Lumber in St. Helen. Dora enjoyed crocheting, canning vegetables, homemade specialty candies and entertaining friends and family.
Dora was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Michigan Center where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 A.M. Wednesday, February 21, 2024 with visitation from 10 A.M. until the time of service. Fr. Amalorpavanathan Rayapillai will officiate. The rosary will begin at 7 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.

Jim is survived by his loving wife, Hosanna; daughters, Brenda (Jon) Rowdon, Ladeana (Jacob) Mietelka and Andrea Lizarazo; grandchildren, Caidence and Jillian Rowdon and one baby Mietelka on the way; siblings, Dan Broner, Rick Broner, Judy Alban, Janet Watkins, Jennifer
Timmins, Mary Merrick, Terri Leighton and Jon Broner; several nieces and nephews. Jim enjoyed fishing, playing cards and music. He founded Trail Supply Company in our local community and had run the business for the past 17 years. Jim cherished his time spent with family and friends at his cabin in Mio. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother
and will be dearly missed by all those that knew him. A celebration of Jim’s life will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Sherwood

Carolyn is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Frank; children, Lloyd (Sandy) Thrasher, Eunice (Paul) Gawdy, Terrie (Rusty) Weir, Charlotte Thrasher, Annette Jones and Yancey (Maggie) Franks; step children, Teresa (Shane) Mase, Jim (Belinda) Blough, Rick Blough and Frank (Kelly) Blough Jr.; 15 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; sister, Ellen Jean Johns; several nieces and nephews.
Carolyn was happiest when she was with her family. She enjoyed fishing, painting, cooking and creating pleasures for others. She will be truly missed and loved by all those that knew her.

Harry was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Vietnam War. He retired from General Motors as a heavy equipment mechanic. He enjoyed farming throughout his life and raising his Scottish Highland cattle. He had a passion for working on his classic cars and attending classic car shows.
Harry was an active member of St. Jacob Evangelical Lutheran Church, Grass Lake where funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Monday February 5, 2024 with visitation from 10 A.M. until the time of service. Visitation will be at the church Sunday from 4-7 P.M.

Obituary Preview: Marion Lester Mannschreck (88) of Morenci, Michigan, passed away peacefully early Friday morning, January 26, 2024. He farmed 500 acres and raised beef cattle for 45 years. Marion was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Carol and his wife of 7 years, Lorraine. Marion’s sister and brother-in-law Roger and Phyllis Ries also precede him in death as well as his infant sister, Lois. He was born March 13, 1935 on the family farm in Morenci to the late William Lester and Florence Mannschreck. He is survived by his children Jack (wife Ruth) Mannschreck, Jill (husband Neil) Hinkley and Beth (husband, Dan) Bodette. His legacy lives on in nine grandchildren and their spouses: Jennica Dalton, Inessa Dalton, Danelle Bodette, Garret Bodette (wife Brittany), Lacey (husband Jacob) Bodette-Perkins, Jeremiah (wife Sara) Mannschreck, Benjamin Mannschreck, Sarah (husband Jeff) and Jonathan Mannschreck. Marion leaves behind eight great grandchildren: Damian Anderson, Madison Anderson, Elizabeth McFadden, Liam Mannschreck, Amos Mannschreck, Ezra Mannschreck, Asher Mannschreck, and Magnolia Mannschreck. Marion also had four step children; Tammy (husband, Brad) Moes, Don (wife, Lynn) Crowell, Lisa (husband, Tim) Brasher and Jack Crowell. Marion also enjoyed many in-laws, nieces and nephews and other extended family.
Graduating from Morenci High School in 1953, Marion attended the agricultural school at Michigan State University before joining the Army. He always said he served in Japan for a year and a half during the only peace time our nation has known. Still, he was proud of his service and developed a great admiration for the Japanese culture and people.
Honorably discharged from the army in 1957, he began farming on a small 135-acre farm. During the winters Marion worked in various factories until purchasing the Standard Oil Agency in Morenci. He ran that business for approximately ten years and afterwards worked for Pennington’s Gas Company for another ten years.
Marion enjoyed playing tennis, ping pong and golf. He enjoyed travel through much of the United States and abroad including Alaska and Hawaii, Japan, England, France, Mexico, and Canada. Marion was always up for a card game and enjoyed cribbage, euchre, and Blackjack. Living at the Brookdale Senior Living home in Adrian for the last two and a half years he enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, Bingo, and Blackjack.
Marion was a hardworking, intelligent, loving, and supportive man. He possessed a great sense of humor and will be missed by his family and friends.
Marion was a member of the United Methodist Churches in Morenci and Adrian. There will be visitation with the family at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Adrian First United Methodist Church, 245 W. Maple Avenue Adrian, MI 49221 with a Memorial Service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Following the service there will be luncheon at the church. The service will be live streamed through the church’s website – Adrianfumc.org. A private burial will take place at a later date.
