Stepbrothers Bob (Jenni) Nielsen of New Baden, Illinois and Tim (Robin) Nielsen of Whitehouse, TN. Grandchildren Levi, Gracie, Kiyah, and Korah Maher.
Preceded in death by dad Elzie Allen, mother Darla (Writer) Allen, and stepmother Karen (Nielsen) Allen.

Obituary Preview: Billie L. Beaman, Jr., age 82 of Seguin, formerly of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Shell Knob, Missouri, passed away on April 11, 2024. Billie was born on March 19, 1942, in Tulsa Oklahoma to Pansy Mabel (Coonce) and Billie Leroy Beaman, Sr.
Billie was raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and was a graduate of Will Rogers High School Class of 1960. He owned and operated Divco Inc. for 23 years. Billie enjoyed racing his sprint car at the Tulsa Speedway. In 1999, Billie and Lela moved to Shell Knob, Missouri where they both enjoyed boating and fishing and all the other simple pleasures of retirement. In 2015 they moved to Seguin, Texas to be closer to family.
Preceding Billie in death are his parents and brother, Robert L. Beaman.
Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Lela Beaman; children, Ricky Beaman and wife Marisol, Dr. Judy Angela Miller and husband Alven, Michael R. Beaman, Amy Jo Pina and husband Greg, and Brian Beaman and wife Laura; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Judy Goff, and Diana Knott and husband Dennis; brother-in-law, Raymond Brown and wife Ida Mae; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving family members and many friends.
A memorial service celebrating Billie’s life will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2024, at 10 a.m. at Living Waters Worship Center, 3325 TX 46, Seguin, Texas, 78155, with the Reverend Paul Mason officiating. A reception will follow. Private interment will be held at a later date.

She was a member of the Trinity Presbyterian Church in Shell Knob, Charter member of the Lions Club of Shell Knob, member of the Shell Knob Car Club and also a Shriner Lady. Ola enjoyed boating, helping run the Shell Knob car show for many years. She went to many car shows. Ola and Don collected cars and rode motorcycles. She was helping Don work at their small engine shop call Shell Knob Small Engine.
June 3, 1989 Ola was united in marriage to Donald Erickson who survives her of the home. She is also survived by her brothers Kirk, Richard, Jessie, and John; sister Margie Ivey; along with several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
Ola is preceded in death by her parents jessie and Evie Conner, and five siblings.

Obituary Preview: Charles William Hirst, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2024, in Shell Knob, Missouri. Born on February 28, 1952, in Hutchinson, Kansas, to Herbert and Bertha Mae (Miller) Hirst, Charles, affectionately known as Charlie, lived a life marked by devotion, service, and joy.
Charlie's early years in Pretty Prairie, Kansas were the foundation of a life characterized by hard work and strong family ties. From September 8, 1972, until September 5, 1978, he served in the Air Force Guard 190th Combat. Charlie was the “Son” of Hirst & Son Supply in Pretty Prairie, Kansas, where he and Phyllis operated the store for many years.
With ultimate retirement in mind, Charlie and Phyllis moved to Shell Knob, Missouri full-time in April of 2006 where they built a home and new business on Table Rock Lake.
Charlie's heart was always with his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis Hirst, with whom he shared a beautiful and adventurous life. Together, they raised two daughters, Carina Kranz and her husband Jason, and Natalie Hirst, who brought him immense pride and joy. He was a proud grandfather to Abigail and Andrew, always ready with a smile and a story. His brother, Larry Hirst and wife Nancy, along with his sisters, Anita Field and husband Bill, and Cindy Hedrick and husband Tony. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Bertha Mae (Miller) Hirst, and his brother, David Hirst. Charlie's legacy will also live on through his numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A man of many interests, Charlie found pleasure in the simple things in life. He was an avid boater and loved living on Table Rock Lake. He and Phyllis also enjoyed taking a cruise in their 2009 Corvette. A proud member of the Southwest Missouri Corvette Club, he shared his passion for cars with fellow enthusiasts. Charlie could always be found tinkering with various projects in his spare time. For over 20 years, he was an active and dedicated member of the Pretty Prairie Booster Club, often serving on the board. Charlie's love for travel took him and Phyllis to warmer climates during the winter months, where they would journey to Florida to collect shells and relax on the beach.

Obituary Preview: We are sad to announce that Loretta Jenkins of Shell Knob, Missouri passed away on March 4, 2024, at the age of 97. Loretta was born to Antony and Nell Adams in Chicago, Illinois on March 4, 1927.
She met George Jenkins at a USO dance in 1946.They married and raised 8 children in the suburbs south of Chicago. In 1971, they moved to Branson West, which was then called Lakeview. Before Branson West was formed, town council meetings occasionally were held in her living room.
Loretta worked for a while in the basket shop at Silver Dollar City. She also worked for the water department in Kimberling City. During these times Loretta fought the breakup of the Mark Twain National Forest. She also protested the establishment of pig farms on the floodplains of the Buffalo River. Eventually George and Loretta opened their own business, George’s Marine, near the intersection of Highway 13 and 76. They remained together in life and business until George’s tragic death in 1994, after which Loretta moved to Shell Knob.
Loretta lived on Table Rock Lake for almost 30 years in the house George designed before his death as their dream home. Loretta was a frequent visitor at the Senior Center in Shell Knob for many years and was well known by many shop owners and their patrons. She was also a member of the Red Hat Ladies for many years.
Loretta is survived by her sons David Jenkins and wife Sara, Bruce Jenkins and wife Leesa, Mike Jenkins and wife Win, Joe Jenkins and wife Barbara, George Jenkins, and Robert Jenkins and wife Janna; daughters Marie Veysey and husband Shawn and Cathy Schmidlly and husband Scott. Loretta is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and her sister Sylvia DeYoung and husband Bob.

Obituary Preview: Patricia Ann Good, daughter of Neal and Florence (Richardson) Sloan was born on March 14, 1939, in Compton, California and departed this life Friday, December 29, 2023, at the age of eighty-four years.
Pat grew up and received her education in Louisburg, Kansas. On March 17, 1956, she was united in marriage to Maynard Good who preceded her in death. She was a home maker and helped with family businesses and had many jobs throughout her life. In 1989, after living in various places, they moved to Shell Knob to retire and make a home.
She was a member of Shrine Ladies and enjoyed her pets and visiting with friends on the phone. She was a wonderful wife and mother, a loving grandma, cherished sister and loyal friend. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will cherish her memory for the rest of our lives.
Pat is survived by her sons, Steve Good and Vonda of Shell Knob, Missouri, Timothy Good and Christie of Shell Knob, Missouri, daughter Cynthia Lightbody and Steve of Strafford, Missouri, nine grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren, one sister Mary Nay and Tim of Kansas, one niece, several nephews, other relatives and many friends.

As retired Navy Master Chief, where he serviced his country in Korea and WWII, Bob enjoyed taking fishing trips with his buddies, many times to other states. He was a master at making homemade ice cream, known as “Bob Lea’s Ice Cream”, that he loved to share with his VFW family and all his neighbors when he had the BEST fish fries at this house.
Surviving the loss of this wonderfully talented man is his daughter Beverly Boyer and her husband Harvey of Shell Knob, Missouri, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as other family, many friends, and neighbors who will miss him greatly.
Bob is preceded in death by his wife Lorine Lea, son Robert E. Lea Jr., stepson Dale Osborn, granddaughter Suzanne Osborn, parents Ray and Vada Lea, sisters Mary Adkins and Betty Lea Rissetto, and brother Earl Lea.

Linda was the cherished wife of Scott Huckabee, to whom she was married for over forty years. Their love story was one of devotion, laughter, and shared dreams. Together, they raised three wonderful children: Allison Owens (Jeremy), Rachel Wheeler (Phil), and Adam Huckabee (Abigail).
One of Linda's greatest joys was being a grandmother to Jackson and Nora Owens, Reid Huckabee, and Huckabee and June Wheeler. She adored her grandchildren.
Linda was born into a large and loving family in Rochelle, Illinois. She was the beloved sister of Phil (Katie), Bob (Diane), Dick (Mary), Gael, Bill (EJ) Gensler, Ilene Deckert (John), Bettie Sullivan, and Sue Burke (Mike). She was predeceased by her parents, Otto and Mary (Walschmidt) Gensler, and her brother, Casper Gensler.
She had a green thumb, which was evident in her beautiful yard and flower beds. She loved being outside, whether it was doing yard work, taking a walk, or simply enjoying the beauty of nature from her chair outside the barn. She also loved to travel to see her grandchildren and explore new places along the way. Baking was another of Linda's passions, especially baking sweets for family, friends, neighbors and coworkers. Linda had a compassionate heart and was always looking for ways to help others through volunteer work and charitable donations.
On top of her active personal life, Linda was a dedicated employee of ConocoPhillips for 40 years, where she performed a variety of roles specializing in IT and systems analysis. She was a wonderful mentor to so many and made lifelong connections during her successful career.

Vickie is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Rick Alan Day. She leaves behind her son Seann Eion Day and wife Rachel of Flagstaff, Arizona, daughter Samantha E. Surfus and husband Scott of Shell Knob, Missouri, and son Shannon Ethan Day and wife Debora of Warrenton, Missouri. Her loving grandchildren Ryan, Zach, Adam, Megan, Leslie, Kevin, Corey, Julie, and Danny, great grandchildren Mackenzie, Timmy, Hunter, Cameron, Zander, and Zaiden. Her mother Maxine Harris and sister Brenda Gustafson and husband Andy of Colorado, several other relatives and many friends.

Cindy was born June 26, 1950, in Kansas City, Missouri. She grew up in Johnson County Kansas and graduated from Shawnee Mission North High School. She was one of the first students to attend Johnson County Community College where she studied art.
Cindy and Tom moved to Shell Knob, Missouri in 1993 where they built their lake home. Cindy was Director of Noah’s Ark Preschool in Shell Knob for several years. She loved to quilt, play computer games and spend time with her family.
Cindy was preceded in death by her parents, Earnest Spillman Ford and Genevieve Martha (Huntley) Ford, her older brother Roger, and her great granddaughter Caroline.
She is survived by her husband Tom Koob of the home, son Jonah Koob and his family of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, son Nathan Koob and his family of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and daughter Corina Parsons and her family of Shell Knob, Missouri. She is also survived by her sister Christina Coleman of Overland Park, Kansas and her brother Richard Ford of Omaha, Nebraska.

Faye is survived by 3 children: Sherri Myers of Shell Knob, Mo., who has one son and 3 grandchildren, Rob Willis and his wife Tammy of Cassville, Mo., who have 4 children and 2 grandchildren, and Patti Capone and husband Chris of Hollister, Mo. who have 4 children, 16 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Danny Paul and wife Linda of Harrison, Arkansas, her sister Reta Oneta of Stockton, California, and her brother Jackie Paul and wife Joan of Dallas, Oregon.
Faye was born in Wheaton, Missouri on November 20, 1940. She worked for WALG radio station in Albany, Georgia for years while raising her children there and retired from Fasco Industries in Cassville, Missouri upon moving back to Missouri. She loved to sing, read, and all things near the water. Faye had a quick and beautiful smile to share with all and a kind and loving heart filled with the love of God. She was surrounded by her children and prayer at the time of her passing and left this world peacefully.

Obituary Preview: Craig B. Freeman of Shell Knob, Missouri was born March 6, 1964, in Carthage, Missouri to Robert and Leatha (Logston) Freeman. Craig passed away May 31, 2023, in Shell Knob at the age of 59.
He was a member of the Eagles Club in Shell Knob. Craig enjoyed fishing and boating. He enjoyed his life on the lake with his dogs. Craig loved spending time with friends at the Table Rock Tavern and Central Crossing Senior Center.
Realizing that Craig was an extremely hard worker, his children know that he did all he could do to leave a legacy of love behind.
Craig is survived by his children Austin Freeman of Acworth, Georgia, Karissa Freeman of Norfolk, Virginia; brother Chris Freeman of Webb City, Missouri; nephews Ryan Sanders of Springfield, Missouri and Nathan Martin of Branson, Missouri; niece Hallie Freeman of Ponca City, OK; along with other family members and friends around Shell Knob.
He is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Letha Freeman, three siblings Gail Freeman, Pat Freeman, and Jeff Freeman.

Alice "Dee" Delores Hollenbeck - June 28, 1933 - May 20, 2023

Obituary Preview: Alice Delores “Dee” (Lofstrom) Hollenbeck, the first child born to Eugene Olaf Lofstrom and Dorothy Arleen (Benton) Lofstrom, on June 28, 1933. She went home to be with the Lord on May 20, 2023.
She grew up in Kansas City, Kansas and graduated from Wyandotte High School. She continued her education attending William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Literature and Science Arts to prepare her for a career teaching elementary school. Her favorite grades to teach were second and third.
While attending William Jewell College she met her husband Donald Gene Hollenbeck. They wed in 1954 and enjoyed 64 years of life married together. In1960, he joined the Air Force serving as a chaplain and she served as an officer's wife served for 20 years.
She taught school at just about every assignment in the Air Force, including Austin, Texas, Anchorage, Alaska, Derby, Andover, and Augusta, Kansas. Often, she would substitute teach until a position opened up.
Her passion for reading lead her to getting certified as a librarian from Emporia State University in 1982, and she became the librarian for Garfield Elementary School in Augusta, Kansas.
After retiring from being a librarian Dee and Don moved to Shell Knob. where they purchased the family home of her uncle Delbert “Dub” Benton and his wife Marge. She was a substitute teacher in Shell Knob briefly.
Reading was her passion. She also loved movies, mysteries, and live theater, especially musicals. Sunday night TV on PBS was her favorite. She was creative and artistic and enjoyed gardening and sewing. She would always set a beautiful table.
She was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Shell Knob. She participated in the Shell Knob Garden Club. She was a founding member of The Museum of the Bible, Washington D.C. and a longtime supporter of PBS. During the Air Force years, she was a member of the Protestant Wives Club and the Officer's Wives Club. She often taught Sunday school and attended bible studies.
Preceding her in death are grandparents William Arthur and Elizabeth Autry (Bradley) Benton, mother Dorothy Arleen (Benton Lofstrom) Copenhaver, stepfather Hadley Copenhaver, brother Terry Eugene Lofstrom and sister Sally Elizabeth Lofstrom.
Survived by her two sons Donald Gene Hollenbeck, Jr and Franklin Henry Hollenbeck. Wife of Donald; Lian Yarberry Hollenbeck, their children Lia Willow Hollenbeck, Donald Gene Hollenbeck III (“Trace”) and Isabelle Elora-Lee Hollenbeck (“Izi”) all of Herndon, Virginia, Partner of Franklin; Carson H Cryar, of Conroe, Texas.
Also surviving are Aunt; Mrs. Joy (Benton) Jamison and daughter Connie Jamison of Kansas City, Darlene Lofstrom of Belton, Missouri her daughters Sherry Lewis and Crystal Hibdon Crouse.
Brother and sister-in-law Lloyd and Christeen Hollenbeck of Imperial, MO, their sons and daughter; Ken (Vicky), David (Lissa), Steve, Rick (Lisa) and Kathleen (Dwight). He was Born 10/20/30 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Dolores Jones and Lee A Jones.
In 1953 and 1954 he honorably served in the United States Army in the Korean War.
In 1957 he married Pat Collins and they had their 4 wonderful children. He worked as a cost accountant for 24 years at Whirlpool in Evansville where he eventually retired in 1989 before moving to Shell Knob.
Richard was an avid golfer and enjoyed fishing, boating and spending time on the lake with his family. He was a member of the Shell Knob Methodist Church.
He was most passionate about supporting their special needs child, Terri, through Special Olympics, FOP Camp and Special Needs Girl Scouts.
He is survived by his wife Pat of 66 years of Shell Knob, MO and children Terri of Hollister, MO, Jeff (Carol) Shell Knob, MO, Tammy Gardner (Alan) of Fishers, IN and Leslie Brunnemer of Brownsburg IN. He has 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Whitcomb of Shell Knob, Missouri, formerly of Wichita, Kansas, retired Cessna Aircraft worker, passed away at Autumn Hill in Berryville, Arkansas on Monday, February 27, 2023. Jim was born February 23, 1943 on his Grandmother’s farm in Quinlan, Oklahoma to parents Denzil and Irene (Young) Whitcomb. Later he moved to Udall, Kansas where he went through the tornado of 1955.
He then moved to Anderson, Missouri where he graduated from Anderson High School. Then he went into the service with the United States Navy from September 19, 1960 to May 7, 1963. On May 20, 1965 Jim married his bride Connie Sue Rayl. Jim retired from Cessna-Trextron Aircraft in January 2002 with 36 years of service.
He had many hobbies: he enjoyed going to swap meets, he loved racing cars at 81 Speedway and enjoyed old Ford cars, he loved visiting with family, friends and neighbors.
Survivors include his wife 57 years Connie (Sue) Whitcomb, sons James Mark Whitcomb and wife Melanie of Rosehill, Kansas and Christopher Lynn Whitcomb of Wichita, Kansas, daughter Debra McJimsey and husband Derek of Wichita, Kansas, bonus son Dale Grayum and wife Debbie and their children Jack and Montana of Claremore, Oklahoma, grandchildren: Josh and Matt Whitcomb, Kelsie and Jeremie Whitcomb, Terrah Barber and husband Ryan, Jamie Grayum, Jackee and Chris Rowand and Kaitlynn Grayum, great grandchildren: Nadja and Hayden Rowan and Avery Jo Barber due in April.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother David Whitcomb and sister Kathy Germann.
