She was the last oldest member of the McAlister family. Velma accepted Christ at an early age. She was a member of Shady Grove M.B. Church. Mother Velma loved attending church and spending time gardening and enjoying her family. She loved  traveling, shopping, and enjoying family functions where her children and grandchildren would all get together. Velma was employed at Baptist Hospital in Housekeeping during her  working years. She leaves to cherish her memories her four daughters: Mary Ezell of New Albany, MS, Myra (Walter) Shields of Tupelo, MS, Inez (Cherelle) German of Blue Springs, MS and Rita Rutherford of New Albany, MS, two sons: Sammie (Channon) Williams of Ripley, MS and Joe Paul (Ann) Anderson of Ecru, MS, a special daughter: Penny Gilbert and a daughter-in-law: Alice Williams, five generations of fifty grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Mother Velma was preceded in death by Leroy Williams, her husband: Charlie Roosevelt Anderson, her parents: James "Bud" and Emma McAlister, her sister: Mary Evans, one daughter: Jannie Ray, four sons: James Williams, Amos Williams, Willie B. Williams and L.C. Anderson.

DeAndré was kind and loved his family and often appeared to be the protector of his family.
DeAndré  accepted Christ at a young age and attended Ruben Chapel CME Church.  DeAndré  participated in Church by being a Jr. Usher and a Jr. choir member. DeAndré  was preceded in death by his grandfathers: Thomas Walker (IL) and Wade Yill Sr. (MS); Uncle: Dante Campbell (IL); Aunt: Rose Jackson (MS); Sister: Monique Barfield (MS); Brother: Anthony Beene (MS)

She accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Pleasant Hill M.B. Church in Hickory Flat, MS. She was a dedicated and faithful member of the Usher Board and  the Sunday School Treasurer. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, auntie and friend.
Kattie was a 1965 graduate of B.F. Ford High School and was employed at the Shirt Factory in New Albany, for many years.
Kattie was known to her community as a loyal Usher to many churches in the  Union County area. She was also known for pressing and curling hair in her kitchen and for her tasty fried pies.  She loved Christmas, it was her special holiday. She made sure everyone had a gift.
Kattie leaves to cherish her memories  one daughter: Hazel (Tommie Potts), her three granddaughters: Martia and Markia Potts,  and Tomiea (Marvin) Hudson, one three step great grandchildren, two sisters: Dovie Marion and Elnora Howell of New Albany, four sisters-in-law: Elizabeth and Maria Howell of Rockford, IL, Threeth and Patsy Howell of Myrtle, MS and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and her special friend: Gloria Washington.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Curvy and Roberta Howell, brothers: Houston, George, Willie, Jessie, Lonzo and Curvy, sisters: Maggie  Ella and Mackie Howell.
Viewing will be Tuesday, December 28, 2021, 12:00 Noon, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church,  Highway 178, Hickory Flat, MS.
