He passed from this life with his family at his side on April 22, 2022 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. James married Geraldine Stowe on May 23, 1981. He was a longtime, beloved employee of Antlers Public Schools. Generations of Bearcat students have counted on Mr. James' smiling face and kind words to greet them each day, almost as much as he looked forward to cutting up with them. James enjoyed fishing when he had spare time, working on his land, and riding his motorcycle with Geraldine. He is preceded in death by his parents: James and Geniva Brown; and brother: Paul Brown. James is survived by his loving wife: Geraldine Brown of the home; Son: Bill James Irland Brown and wife Brenda of Antlers, OK; sisters: Wanda Witham of Connecticut and Julie Brown and Raul of Oaten, TX; grandchildren: Mandi Engleman and Rocky Rowell; and great-grandchildren: Braden Peterson, Eli Ward, Kimbree Little, Emma Meadows, Bailey Rowell, Zach Rowell, London Rowell, Memphis Rowell, Katlena Rowell, Brooklyn Hubs, Logan Rowell, Bentley Rowell, Raly Rain, Addy Peterson, and Wesson Peterson; as well as a host of friends. Memorial services for James will take place on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 1PM at the Antlers High School Gymnasium with Pastor Larry Crawford officiating. Jackie was born in Antlers on July 30, 1958 to Gene & Mary Lois (Smith) Duncan. He loved being outdoors, hunting, fishing, drawing, and helping people out. Jackie was known to be a wonderful handyman and quite the "MacGyver".
Jackie is preceded in death by his parents; siblings W.A. Duncan, Christine Turner and Hazel Cockrill; and brother in law Craig Bartlett.
He leaves behind a loving family that includes his siblings Mary Ann Duncan, Johnny Duncan, Shirley Harvey & husband Gail, and Gail Bartlett all of Antlers as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Graveside services for Jackie will be held on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at 10AM at Antlers City Cemetery with Pastor Larry Crawford officiating. He was an amusing man and a master story teller. Glenn had a special appreciation for antique cars and trucks, and a fondness for restoring them. He was a great mechanic and owned his own business for many years. It is often said that Glenn always had a "need for speed." Glenn was an avid history buff, and liked touring different museums around the country. He truly enjoyed hunting and fishing with his children and grandchildren. Glenn was a Christian man who loved the Lord and his family above all else. Glenn is preceded in death by his wife of 48 years: Marilyn Sue (Garner) Janoe; parents: Paul and Fairy Janoe; infant son: Danny Janoe; son: David Janoe; step-son: Mark Willis; grandson: Taytan Janoe; sister: Joyce Mauldin; and brothers: Tom Janoe, Fred Janoe and Larry Janoe. His favorite foods were Arby’s French dip, Hibachi, Olive Garden salad, pickles, and Tony’s pizza. He hated chinese food. Andon loved to hang out in his mother’s ribs. Dovie loved keeping herself busy by crocheting blankets, gardening, and cooking. Obituary Preview: Forest Bedford "Pete" Walker passed from this life in Talihina, Oklahoma on March 22, 2022 at the age of 96. He was born at home in Clayton, Oklahoma on September 29, 1925 to William Walter Walker and Innie (Barber) Walker. Pete grew up in Nashoba, leaving home around age 13 to ride railroad boxcars to California. He served in the Navy during World War II from 1944-1946 as a Seaman stationed at Pearl Harbor. Pete's brother, James Walker, also served during World War II. After his military service, Pete came back to Oklahoma and fell in love with Melba Jo Hair. They married in 1946 in Paris, Texas. After marriage, Pete and Melba returned to California where Pete attended Barber College. They eventually came back home to Oklahoma, where he retired as a Clayton, Oklahoma Firefighter and served the Clayton and Pushmataha County areas as a barber for many years. Pete was a member of the Church of Christ. All who knew Pete will remember his love of fishing and hunting along with the enjoyment of telling his wild stories. May he rest in peace knowing his loved ones will have fish fries and tell stories in his memory. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife: Melba Jo Walker; daughter: Dr. Gail Walker; and siblings: Opel Stepps, Joyce Stepps, Dorothy Robbins, James Walker, and Claudine "Babe" Whisenhunt. Obituary Preview: Rebecca Elizabeth (Allen) VanPelt died at the age of 41 on March 8, 2022 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown, Ohio. Her celebration of life was held at 2PM at Stark Memorial Funeral Home in Salem, Ohio. Becky was born August 10, 1980, in Louisville, KY, and is the daughter of Richard David Allen and Denise Rachele (Dorsey) Hatchett. She was unmarried at the time of her death, but had been married from 2005-2016 to Robert VanPelt of Struthers, Ohio. At a young age, her parents moved to Ohio and she graduated from Boardman High School. She later moved from Ohio to Holdenville, Oklahoma in 2008 and in 2011 moved to Antlers, OK. While in Antlers she worked as a CMA (Certified Medication Aid)/CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) at the Antlers Manor. For 20 years, she loved what she did and adored her patients. In 2020, she moved back to Ohio to be closer to her children Noah VanPelt (20) and Destiny VanPelt (23). Becky loved crafting, shopping, attending concerts, eating, relaxing, road trips, going for walks, swimming, watching football, DIY projects, watching television, creative writing, and napping. She was her children’s #1 fan and had lots of decals on her car to support them. In her younger years, she was a baton twirler and dancer, she played the piccolo and flute for the marching band, and was a frequent pageant performer. Preceding her death were her maternal grandparents, Sam Dorsey and Bethel Dorsey of Louisville, KY, her paternal grandparents, Dan Allen and Francis Allen of Youngstown, Ohio, and her mother, Denise Rachele (Dorsey) Hatchett of Roscommon, MI. Surviving are her 3 children Noah VanPelt of Sebring, OH, Destiny VanPelt of Struthers, OH, and Sadie and her husband Shylor Lawrence of Antlers, OK; Grandchildren, Jackson and Greyson Lawrence of Antlers, OK; Father, Richard Allen of Youngstown, OH; Sisters, Melissa Allen of Havelock, NC and April (Broadhurst) Webb of Akron, OH; Brothers, Patrick and Franklin Broadhurst of Akron, OH; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. “I know you will always believe in me. Martha Lee Eden - January 14, 1930 - February 26, 2022

Obituary Preview: Martha Lee (Mickel) Eden was born to George and Bulah Rebecca Mickel on January 14, 1930 in Altus, Oklahoma She was the first of her 8 siblings, sisters- Cleo, Lillie, Martina, and Sovern; brothers-Cecil, Arvin and JD. Martha enjoyed the years of being the big sister and helping with the younger siblings. On May 24, 1947 she married the love of her life Jack Eden, they enjoyed life together for almost 60 years. They had two sons; Troy Eden and Roger Eden. Martha studied the bible and chose to get baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on January 11, 1958. She loved to share her joy of bible knowledge about God’s Kingdom and her hope with others. She loved going to the Kingdom Hall and the Assembly’s and Conventions held by Jehovah’s Witnesses. Martha loved dogs, particularly Poodles. She and Kathy Owens, a dear friend, worked together to care for dogs and to home the puppies for others to enjoy. This partnership led to Martha being able to do this on her own, which she enjoyed. Martha and Jack operated the Kiamichi Kamp in Messer, Oklahoma for around 8 years as well as ran a retail store where they sold antiques and collectibles. Martha loved going to Auctions where she found treasures for herself, such as red glass items and dishes. She enjoyed sewing, planting flowers, cooking, playing dominos, and reading the Bible. As well as spending time with family and friends. And up to the last months, she still got enjoyment out of playing dominos, and reading her Bible. Then the day came when she couldn’t recall how to do the things she once enjoyed or remember those from the past as she was robbed of memory by Alzheimer’s. Everyone on her home health and hospice care team said it was a treat to see Martha, she always had a smile when they came to see her and was a sweet kind person. Martha believed in the Bible promises of a resurrection back to earth. A time when her good memory will be restored. And she will be youthful and never be sick again. Martha passed from this life on February 26, 2022 in Wilburton, Oklahoma where she was loved and cared for by the Hedgecock family.
