Carolyn was baptized at a very young age at First Baptist Church in Ozark, Alabama. She attended the Ozark City School system and graduated from Carroll High School, Class of 1977. Carolyn found great purpose in her work, holding various positions throughout her life. She served as a counselor for "at-risk" teenage girls at Cunningham Children’s Home, worked as a Lathe Operator at Disk’Tec, and contributed to the dining facility at Ft. Sill in Lawton, OK. In her spare time, she enjoyed staying connected with family and friends on Facebook and watching her favorite TV shows, including Judge Mathis, Judge Judy, The People's Court, and The Golden Girls. Carolyn was preceded in death by her grandparents, Harvey Crittenden and Mary Emma Crittenden; her parents, Comer Sistrunk and Roberta Sistrunk Baty; her aunt, May Crittenden; her uncle, Tyrone Crittenden; her son, Bobby White; and her grandson, Jacob White. She was also preceded in death by her nephews, Maurice Antonio Sistrunk and Ryan "Lupi" McLeod, and her niece, Fatima Miles. Carolyn will forever live in the hearts of those who love her and cherish her memory. She leaves behind her sisters, Marilyn (Donald) Bohanan of Albany, GA, and Gloria McLeod Knox of Ozark, AL; her brothers, Keith (Katina) Sistrunk of Troy, AL, and Michael Sistrunk of Ozark, AL. Her children, whom she loved dearly, include Rodney Miller of Atlanta, GA; Bryan White of Atlanta, GA; and Kourtney Hill of San Bernardino, CA. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Tyliea Miller of Rantoul, IL; Markell White of Champaign, IL; Dshyyah Miller of Chicago, IL; Tatyana Miller of Rantoul, IL; Bryson Merriett of San Bernardino, CA; and Kobe Clark of San Bernardino, CA.

Obituary Preview: Mrs. Ruby Nell Tellis was born December 2, 1954, in Ozark, Alabama to the late Namen Crittenden and Sallie Mae Mixon of Ozark, Alabama.
She attended D.A. Smith School and joined St. Mark A.M.E. Zion Church of Ozark, Alabama.  She was on the Steward Board, a Trustee, taught Sunday School, sang in the Voices of Zion Choir, was a member of W.H.O.M.S., Life Member of the Missionary Society, a member of the Lay Council, a member of the Christian Education Department and a member of the culinary committee.  She worked faithfully in her church until her health declined.
Mrs. Ruby Nell was well known for her special sense of fashion. When she STEPPED, she STEPPED!  She loved shopping and selling Mary Kay cosmetics. She was loved by everyone and enjoyed sitting outside in her yard, with her pocketbook nearby…lol!  She also loved flowers and Mr. Grady always made sure their yard was well kept. Her kind heart and humble spirit will truly be missed.
Mrs. Ruby Nell Tellis passed peacefully from this life on the morning of May 5th, 2024. She was surrounded and supported by her loving and caring family. She was preceded in death by her mother, Sallie Mae Mixon; her father, Namen Crittenden; her sister, Mary Mixon; brothers, Eugene and Jimmy Mixon and her daughter, Felisha Ann Tellis.
She leaves to cherish her memories: Her husband of 45 years, Grady Lee Tellis-Ozark, Alabama; 3 daughters- Tonya Mixon, Quwanda Shipman and Sharonda Tellis- Ozark, AL.; 2 sons-Otis Shipman and Grady Lee Tellis, Jr- Ozark, AL.; 28 grandchildren-Kevin Mixon, Khia Tellis, Jakerria Tellis, Dedrick McClendon, Alexis Grider, Dedric Dean, Chance Shipman, Chase Shipman, Harmon Shipman, Orion Shipman, Dailin Lewis, Mercedes Shipman, O’Tiesha Shipman, Zy’nyria Hines, Anastasia Hines, Ta’leigha Hines, Laquita Mckinney, Myia Coleman, Yasmine Coleman, Chioma Williams, Cai Williams, Josiah Bonds, Syniah Caldwell, Isaiah Johnson, Kaliyah Lawson, Jeremiah Guice, Nyah Bhola and Robert Smith; 12 Great-grandchildren-Aria McClendon, Kyler McClendon, Armani McClendon, Journee McClendon, Layzria McKinney, Xaxion McKinney, Jayce McKinney, Keon McKinney, Caleb McKinney, Smair Coleman, Zayrion Coleman, and Ya’Syiah Tellis. She also leaves behind a host of cousins and two special friends, Legail Mcleod and Red Stewart; a special adopted grandchild, Victoria Smith; and a very special granddaughter, Jade Caldwell.

Obituary Preview: Theresa Ann Belcher Goodman, daughter of the late Mr. Roscoe F. Belcher, Sr, and Mrs. Annie M. Raines, was born on July 18, 1955, in Ozark, Alabama. where she is preceded in death by three older siblings Mrs. Annie M. Moore, Mr. Floyde Belcher, and Mr. Harvey L. Belcher.
At an early age, she united with First Missionary Baptist Church in Ozark under the pastorate of Dr. S. C. Jackson.
Theresa received her public school education in the Ozark City School System, graduating from Carroll High in 1973. Following graduation, she continued her education at Wallace Community College, where she graduated with the first night class in Licensed Practical Nursing.
On May 02, 1983, Theresa started working at Flowers Hospital in Dothan, Alabama.
Theresa departed this life on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at her brother and sister-in-law's home in Ozark, Alabama, where she lived since January 8, 2024, after becoming ill.
Theresa leaves to cherish her loving memory: her mother, Mrs. Annie M. Raines., Ozark, Alabama; a brother Mr. Roscoe F. (Monika) Belcher, Jr., Ozark, Alabama; one aunt Eloise Matthews, Dothan, Alabama; two special cousins Mr. Porter Belcher, Ozark, Alabama; the late Wallace Manuel Morris, Ozark, Alabama; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Obituary Preview: Debra Ann Young Passed away peacefully March 27,2024 at her residence in Andalusia AL. Debra Ann Young was born to Moses Young and Georgie Mae Young in New Orleans, Louisiana. Growing up with a book always in hand led her to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature at California State University, Fullerton.  Upon  graduating from Assumption High School in Napoleonville, Louisiana. Debra called many places in Europe and various parts of the United States home and traveled to Germany, China, Japan, and the Caribbean. She was a long-time Long Beach, California resident before moving to Andalusia, Alabama in 2017. She spent a considerable amount of time with her head in the clouds of imaginary worlds, writing fantasy, science fiction, and horror. In her lifelong career as a writer she contributed to a variety of writing communities, made many writer friends along the way, and won several National Novel Writing Month awards. Her final completed work, Break to You, co-authored with Neal Shusterman and Michelle Knowlden, will be published July 2024. Outside of her extensive writing career, Debra also worked in real estate and life insurance. She loved cats and owned many over the course of her life. Her friends will remember her warmth, generosity, cheerful nature, and great imagination. Her family will remember her humor, fierce independence, love of travel, and her ability to make even the most ordinary occasions very special. Debra is survived by her two brothers, three sisters, many nieces and nephews, and her cats Isabelle and Loki.

Johnny Ray “Old School” Kelly departed this life Monday evening March 12, 2024 at Flowers Hospital in Dothan AL with his family by his side . He accomplished many things in life humbly; To name a few; loved protecting his community; the drive thru apartment mechanic shop repairs; daily monitoring the small and innocent children to school, every morning and afternoon; day and late late night mentoring of family and friends in distress; the first turbo exhaust unofficial almost free taxis; set “two world’s records”’ at Champion and St. Regis Lumber Processing Mill (Abbeville Al.), in the most ever cut and processing raw material into finished processed lumber. but it’s not important right now; he just ask everyone to not get here up telling all those lies (he didn’t want to miss his call from God); just tell those funny moments we shared in laughter, good or bad and have fun in celebrating him for 64 years. He leaves to proudly cherish his memories his two Devine sons; Ex. NFL Football player Mr. And Mrs Tiny T. Kelly, also precious grandchildren of Florida; Warehousing/Logistics Mr. And Mrs. Johnathon Kelly and precious grandchildren of Florida. Ten Brothers and Sisters residing in Alabama, Florida and Georgia. A beautiful and Host of niece’s, nephews, auntee’s, uncle’s, cousins, senior citizens and my community. A host of local Trustworthy Special Friends and several are Relatives.

Mrs. Reinetta Ann Morrow Lewis - March 31, 1961 - March 06, 2024

Obituary Preview: Reinetta Ann Morrow is a Chicago native born to Taft and Lizzie Morrow.  She was reared in the Bronzeville Community, aka, “Low End” along with seven other siblings.  Reta was educated in the Chicago Public Schools spending the majority of her elementary years at Carter G. Woodson and her middle school years at Forrestville Upper Grade Center.  Reta spent her high school years at Dr. Martin Luther King, JrHigh where she served the entire four years playing the clarinet and marching with the King High School Band known as the “Mighty Jaguars”.  Unbeknownst to many, Reta excelled in music theory while in the marching band, and she had a love for all genres of music.  It was in 1979 that Reta graduated from King High School and entered the workforce.
Reta held several jobs after graduating from high school and served in a few supervisory positions.  However, she forged her career working with the United States Postal Service from which she retired after serving 35 years.  She began serving the U.S. Postal Service in Chicago, IL and relocated with a transfer to Memphis, TN where she resided for twelve years.  In later years, Reta continued with the U.S. Postal Service in Atlanta, GA and finally retired from the U.S. Postal Service in Dothan, Alabama.  She enjoyed her career with the post office and was a favorite everywhere she worked because of her friendly disposition, ability to work as a team player and her strong work ethic which was instilled in all of the Morrow children by their mother.
Reta was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers. She is survived by her son—Joseph Patrick. She has three sisters—Mary Lynn (husband, Bill), Melody Elaine, and Pamela; along with two brothers—Willie Charles and Jaylee.  She has twogranddaughters—Kalise Morrow and Kaliyah Means—whom she loved dearly.  There is a multitude of first cousins, nieces, nephews, special friends, neighbors, her Zion Grove Baptist Church Family in Chicago, and the people of Dothan who poured out immensely their love and concern.  From all of us with love and kisses, we bid her farewell.

Born on May 18,1949 in Chicago Illinois, Louis was a beacon of light from the moment he entered this world. His can-do attitude, kind heart and unwavering love for people not only defined his character but also made him a great father.
Louis kind heart and words were felt by anyone he encountered because to know him truly was to love him. He dedicated his life to make sure that he was always a supportive husband, father, grandparent, and friend. He always had a passion for life and because of this he embraced every opportunity that came his way. He always prides himself on being a hard worker and provider.
Though Louis physical presence may not be with us anymore, his memory will forever live within our hearts and souls. We find solace in knowing he is now at peace and no longer struggling within life. We Know that he is watching over us and guiding us from above.  May he rest in eternal peace, knowing that his legacy lives on through everyone he touched.
Louis was proceeded to glory by his mother Evelyn Randall, son Norman Burl, Son-in-law Lee Spearman, and grandson Jamal Smith.
He leaves behind his wife Catherline Burl of Ozark, Alabama; two daughters Danielle Goss of Ozark, Alabama and Georgianna Smith of Gary, Indiana; one daughter in law Carroll Kelly of Normal, Illinois.
To his grandchildren he was known as “Papa Bear”, he leaves behind10 granddaughters and 7 grandsons Ajah Stringer of Ozark, Alabama; Adrianna Goss of Ozark, Alabama; A’kemiahAdams of Ozark, Alabama; Cierra Stokes Smith (Timothy Stokes) of Plainfield, Illinois; Tiffany Richmond (DawhunRichmond) of Chicago, Illinois; Brianna Smith of Chicago, Illinois; Tanessa Burl of Peoria, Illinois; Destiny Smith of Chicago Illinois; Ashley Kelly of Normal, Illinois, and Valencia Clark ( Justin Clark) of Normal Illinois; Amir Goss of Ozark, Alabama; Lee Smith of Chicago Illinois; Zion Smith of Plainfield Illinois; Louis Smith of Chicago Illinois; Tyshawn Burl ( Gabrielle Fontenot Burl) of Washington, DC; Darion Kelly of Normal, Illinois; and Jaquan Kelly of Bloomington, Illinois.
He also had the opportunity to connect with very special people such as Mrs Linda and Elizabeth Hendricks. He also leaves behind 42 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren and an abundance of nieces, nephews, and cousins that he cherished deeply.
His family was always his pride and joy. He cherished every visit and precious moment from everyone, especially his grandsons (Amir and Jamell). Even though he is gone his memory will live on in our hearts forever.

Obituary Preview: Frederick Junior Grubbs was born in Clopton, Alabama, to the late Willie Junior Grubbs and Willie Mae Grubbs. Mr. Grubbs was fondly known by many friends and family as "Friuty".
