He was born on May 5, 1956 to Kenneth & Ruth (Morris) Herriott in Lafayette, IN.  His father preceded him in death and his mother survives in New Bremen.  On July 4, 2003 he married Cheryl Elchert and she survives in Wapakoneta.
Survivors include a daughter Alisha (Andy) Reaman of Lima; a son Nick (Jenny) Herriott of Wapakoneta; 4 step-children Faye (Scott) Ferenczi of Uniopolis, Misty (Eric Weisbauer) Weber of Hilliard, Brian (Kory) Weber of Piqua, Brandon (Amy) Weber of Cridersville; 4 grandchildren Lauren (Kyle) Crowe, Lawson Reaman, Dylan Copeland, Sophia Herriott; 7 step-grandchildren Cameron, Justin, Drew, Dylan, Mila, Madysen, Gavin; a great-granddaughter Kendall Crowe; siblings Roger (Marcia) Herriott, Peg (Joe) Gerstner, Karen (Dave) Williams, Brian (Mary) Herriott.
Alan was a 1974 graduate of Wapakoneta Senior High School.  He retired from Slagle Mechanical Contractors, Sidney.  He enjoyed golfing, riding his motorcycle and spending time, at the V.F.W.

Obituary Preview: James “Jim” Etgen, 77, of Wapakoneta passed away at 8:38 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at Kindred Hospital, Dayton.
He was born on July 11, 1944 in Lima, OH to Leroy & Verdean (Kantner) Etgen who preceded him in death.  On December 29, 2000 he married Norma Klenke and she survives in Wapakoneta.
He is also survived by 3 children Timothy (Jill) Etgen of Wapakoneta, Kimberly Evans of Hagerstown, MD, Robert (Cherie) Gehle Jr. of Hamilton Square, NJ; 6 grandchildren Ty (Heather) Etgen, Joel (Andrea) Etgen, Bryant McClain, Kristy (Tyler) Varno, Kierstin Gehle, Drew Gehle; 5 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters Dorothy (Al) Behr and Donna (Fritz) Gerstner.
He was preceded in death by a daughter Tiffany Etgen and a sister Rita Howell.
Jim grew up on his family farm and graduated from New Knoxville High School in 1962.  He was a lifelong brick mason and retired from Tuttle Construction.  He was a member of the Eagles 691, Moose 1473 and was a past president of the Auglaize Fish & Game.  He enjoyed bowling, softball, fishing and hunting.  Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 25, 2022 at St. Patrick Catholic Church 6959 Glynwood Rd., St. Marys with Rev. Sean Wilson officiating.  Family and friends may visit from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday, April 24, 2022 at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta.

Obituary Preview: Deb L. VanHoose, 58, of Lima, passed away peacefully at her home with her loved ones by her side at 12:10 p.m. Sunday, April 10, 2022 after a short battle with cancer.
She was born on June 27, 1963 in Lima, OH to Denny Sheets and Sharon (Stump) McCullough.  Her mother preceded her in death and her father survives in Tennessee.
She is survived by her children Jessica VanHoose of Lima, Larry (Megan) VanHoose of Ada; 2 granddaughters Kaycee and Kenzie VanHoose both of Ada; her boyfriend Gordon Humes of Lima; a brother Ron (Irene) Sheets of Wapakoneta; two sisters Diana (Brad) Hicks of Wapakoneta, Krissy (James Ray) Otwell of New Knoxville; many nieces and nephews and her cat, Mittens.
She was preceded in death by her step-father Larry McCullough; aunt and uncle Janet (Dave) Terry; maternal grandparents Lee (Ann) Stump; paternal grandparents Pud (Martha) Sheets.
Deb attended Botkins High School and she dedicated her life to her handicap daughter and working with the handicap.  She was also an employee at Marimor Industries.  She enjoyed riding the Harley-Davidson with Gordon and The Rolling Thunder and she loved helping Veterans.
Private family services will be held at a later date.

Cummins, 89, of Wapakoneta, passed away at 12:54 p.m., Thursday, March 31, 2022 at Otterbein, St. Marys.  He was born on February 20, 1933 in Lakeview, to Elmer N. and Hattie M. McKinnon Cummins who have preceded him in death.  On October 6, 1955, he married Marilyn M. Gould, who passed away March 8, 2015.
Survivors include six children, William Cummins, Gary Cummins, Michael Cummins, Tony (Leigh) Cummins, Cheryl (Allan) Miller, Linda (Robert) Hock; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert Cummins, Vernon "Jim" Cummins, and Gene Cummins.
Don served in the United States Army from 1953-1955.  He retired from the Ford Motor Company, Lima Engine Plant in 1990.  Don was a member of the American Legion Post 330, Wapakoneta.  He enjoyed working outside, boating and fishing.
A Memorial Service will begin at 3:00 p.m. Friday, April 8, 2022 at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services.  Rev. Michael Westbay will officiate.  Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. Friday until the time of services.  Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, with military rites performed by the VFW Post 8445.  Memorial contributions may be directed to a charity of the donor's choice.

Nancy L. Hollenbacher - July 13, 1937 - March 25, 2022

Obituary Preview: Nancy Lee (Heintz) Hollenbacher died peacefully on March 25, 2022 after suffering Covid complications at Otterbein, Cridersville. She was born on July 13, 1939 to Luther E. and Iva P. Heintz of Jackson Center, Ohio who preceded her in death. On October 21, 1961, she married Ernest L. Hollenbacher, who survives. Also surviving are three children, Melissa (Jim) Smith of Hudson, Ohio; Susan (Lee) Harrod of Wapakoneta and Derron Hollenbacher of Wapakoneta. She loved her grandchildren immensely.   Sam Harrod, Lexi Harrod, Andrew Smith, Luke Smith, Dylan Hollenbacher and Zach Hollenbacher had the best grandma!
Her grandson, Maxwell Harrod, preceded her in death.
Nancy retired from Wapakoneta City Schools as the Cafeteria Manager for the former Northridge Elementary School. She was an active volunteer at St. Vincent's God's Storehouse in Wapakoneta and made sure that every college student received a care package from St Mark's Lutheran Church.
Nancy was a big sports fan.  She loved her Cincinnati Reds and Ohio State Buckeyes.  And if she wasn’t watching a game, she was shopping - something she definitely passed on to her daughters.  She loved going out to eat with her friends, spending time with family, and having a cold beer over ice by a roaring fire. Her grandchildren were her greatest joy.
The family wishes to thank everyone who sent cards and flowers, visited Nancy, and prayed for her recovery and eventual peace. She was blessed with amazing friends and family.
There will be a private Christian burial attended by the family at Greenlawn Cemetery with Rev. Doug Pretorius officiating.

Obituary Preview: Arlene Warner, 91, of rural Wapakoneta, passed away at  8:45 a.m., Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys. She was born on November 27, 1930 in Wapakoneta, to Leslie H. and Adelia E. Stoll Phillips who have preceded her in death.  On November, 12, 1950 she married her high school sweetheart, Kermit O. Warner, who passed away on October 27, 2009.
Survivors include her two daughters, Pat (Tom) Wittenbrink, of Wapakoneta, and Priscilla (Dave) Slusser, of Celina; five grandchildren, Christina (John) Oakley, Dale (Debra) Wittenbrink, Daniel (Nicole) Wittenbrink, Christine (Scott) Schroer, Steven (Julie) Slusser; 14 great-grandchildren, Emma, Caleb, Tobiah, and Isaiah Wittenbrink, Maren, Maxon, and Melody Wittenbrink, Bryson, Brayden, Braxton, and Bristol Schroer, and Emily and Lucas Slusser, with one more on the way; and her brother, Valgene (Janet) Phillips, of Wapakoneta; and an extended family of nieces and nephews.
Arlene was baptized into Salem United Methodist Church, making her the third generation of members in her family.  Her family now has six generations of membership at the church.  She was a 1948 graduate of New Knoxville High School, where she was a cheerleader and her sweetheart, Kermit, was on the basketball team.  Although they didn't win at the State Championship, they were blessed with almost 59 years of marriage.  Following graduation, she attended beauty school, working at Vesta's in Wapakoneta, before opening her own shop, the Magic Mirror.
Kermit and Arlene were avid travelers, taking their motorhome all over the country and flying overseas.  They created cedar signs together, Kermit doing the wood carving and Arlene doing the painting, and loved playing pegs & jokers.  In her free time, she enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles, playing dominoes, cross-stitching and knitting.  Arlene could also be found working in her garden or hunting morel mushrooms.  She loved cooking and watching her daytime tv game shows.
Funeral Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 14, 2022 at Salem United Methodist Church, Wapakoneta.  Pastor Lynda Lockwood will officiate and interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta.  Friends may call from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. Sunday, March 13, 2022 at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta.  Memorial contributions may be directed to  Salem United Methodist Church, Wapakoneta.

Obituary Preview: Robert “Bob” Longworth, 51, of Wapakoneta, passed away at 8:58 a.m. Friday, March 4, 2022 at Mercy Health - St. Rita’s, Lima.  He was born on February 6, 1971 in Lima, to John H. Longworth & Susan “Suzy” Howard.  His father and stepmother, Shirley Longworth, survive in Wapakoneta.  His mother preceded him in death. Survivors also include his significant other, Malinda “Jill” Kies, of Wapakoneta; four  children, Autumn Longworth & Mark Miller, of Waynesfield, and Colton Longworth & Courtney Stephens, Kayla & Kevin Bellman, and Jayse Longworth, all of Wapakoneta; six grandchildren, Alyssa Longworth, Adrian “Beau” Longworth, Isiah Weinstock, Gauge Weinstock, Jonathan Bellman, and Lucas Bellman; and three siblings, Tammy Anteau of Charolette, NC, Heide & Aaron Koenig of Botkins, and John & Jessica Longworth of Wapakoneta.   In his younger years Bob spent time hunting, fishing, and doing everything he could outdoors.  For many years of his life, he worked as a plumber at Cooks Plumbing & Heating with his best bud, Brian “Skippy” Cook.  He spent most of his time cracking jokes with Jill, his kids, grandkids and close friends.  He truly adored them all.  He could walk into a room full of strangers and walk out with a room full of friends.  He always had a joke of the day accompanied by a cold Budweiser and a shot of Jack Daniels.  He called his children many times during the day to check in and share something hilarious.  Most of the time he could barely make it through his joke without belly laughing.  Cooking has always been a longstanding hobby of his.  He always said to “never trust a skinny cook” and boy was he right!  His chicken was a crowd favorite and he loved when Jill made him a sugar cream pie.  He cooked many meals on Thanksgiving and Christmas for others who had nowhere else to go.  One of his favorite places to cook Thanksgiving dinner for was Amvets Post 333 in Wapakoneta, where he was a member. The family would like to express their gratitude to all of Mercy Health - St. Rita’s doctors and nursing staff that helped with Bob’s care over the last three months. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2022 starting at 3:00 p.m. at Moe’s Dugout 4 located at 108 N. Wood Street in Wapakoneta.  There will be chicken dinners, raffles, t-shirts and entertainment.  Any money made will be donated to the family to help with any needed expenses. Bob will be cremated and his ashes will be scattered in Apache Junction, Arizona, at the Superstition Mountains where his mother, Suzy, was laid to rest. The family has entrusted Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services to handle the arrangements.

Survivors include 3 children Neil R. Mallett of Wapakoneta, Adam G. (Jodie) Mallett of Lima; a step-son Kyle J. (Tammy) Kaverman of Lake St. Louis, MO; 3 grandchildren Caleb and Hannah Kaverman as well as Ryker Mallett and 2 sisters Pamela Hakius, Melanie Zuppardo.
Bob retired from Big Lots and loved spending time with his family.  He also enjoyed buying, selling cars and attending car auctions.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Damien was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Laura Veronica Foxhoven; brothers and sister, Gerald Foxhoven, Henry Foxhoven, Danny Foxhoven, Art Foxhoven, Roseline Gubbels. Damien proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1955-1958.  He retired from Ford Motor Company after 30 years of service. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and Football. He also enjoyed sitting on his front porch “watching over the neighborhood.”

Schmerge, who passed away September 17, 2006. Catherine was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Norma Schmerge; grandson, Terry Schmerge; three brothers, Alfred Steinke, Joe (Christine) Steinke, Francis Steinke; sister, Rita (Lawrence) Tebbe; three brother-in-laws, Jim Pauley, Ed Beeman, and Lawrence Schmerge; and three sister-in-laws, Catherine Curtis, Gertie Curtis and infant Caroline Schmerge.
Living most of her life on a farm, Catherine was a hard worker and dedicated homemaker.  While she was more than willing to help anyone, her family always came first.  She was a loving wife to George for more than 50 years and they enjoyed many memories together, especially with the Buckeye Farm Antiques.  As the years passed and their family grew, Catherine raised her children, while quilting and tending to the gardens of flowers and vegetables.  As much as she loved her kids, her pride and joy was found within the next generations, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Very much a grandma, she loved to spend time together as family, at holidays or just gathered around playing cards or working puzzles.  Catherine was a member of the St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Rhine, where she belonged to the Ladies Sodality.  She also enjoyed volunteering and visiting residents at the local nursing homes.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 am, Saturday, February 26, 2022, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Rhine (16053 Botkins Road; Botkins).  Father Sean Wilson will officiate and interment will follow in the church cemetery.  Friends may call from 4:00 - 7:00 pm, Friday, February 25, 2022, at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta.  Memorial contributions may be directed to Botkins Fire Department.

Survivors include 10 children: Raymond Fisher of Florida, Edward (Mary) Fisher of Wapakoneta, Dwight Fisher of Wapakoneta, Connie (Tim) Owens of St. Marys, Christopher (Kim) Fisher of Kentucky, Aaron (Michelle) Fisher, Anthony (Jennifer) Fisher, Albert (Bethann) Fisher, Alice (Noel) Gonterman, and Becky (Timothy) Puff all of Wapakoneta; 49 grandchildren and 48 great-grandchildren and 3 sister-in-laws Helen Puthoff, Virginia Beckert, and Clara Langenkamp Kite.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son Karl Fisher; 6 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; five brothers; a sister and multiple in-laws.
Katheleen was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed cooking and baking cookies.  She was a devout catholic and was a member St. John Catholic Church, Fryburg.  She and her husband enjoyed traveling to bluegrass festivals.  She will be remembered for her daily devotion to prayer, being a peacemaker, and being a hardworking woman that always wanted to be around her family.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday February 24, 2022 at St. John Catholic Church, Fryburg with Rev. Jedidiah Tritle officiating.  Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Geneva was preceded in death by siblings Wilbur Dean Neeley and Larry Neeley.
Geneva was a housewife and a homemaker and actively attended Wapakoneta Church of the Nazarene.
Memorial services will begin at 5:30 p.m., Monday, February 21 at Wapakoneta Church of the Nazarene, 401 Court St., Wapakoneta with Rev. Stephen Ambrose officiating.  Burial will be held at a later date at Resthaven Cemetery, Moulton.

Henkener, 91, of Wapakoneta, passed away at 4:50 p.m. Sunday, February 6, 2022 at Otterbein - St. Marys.  She was born on September 30, 1930, in Lima, to Vernon E. & Leona B. Meier Kelly, who have preceded her in death.  In keeping with Irish tradition, she married George E. Henkener on Thanksgiving Day 1948.  They were blessed with over 68 years of marriage before he passed away on February 18, 2017.
Survivors include her two sons, Craig M. (Debra) Henkener and Kim A. (Melanie) Henkener, both of Wapakoneta; three grandsons, Michael C. Henkener, of Lima, James P. Cooper, of Lakeland, FL, and Brian A. (Kristi) Henkener, of Morrow, Ohio; three granddaughters, Kristina L. (Lance) Soliday, of Sidney, Angela M. Elshoff, of St. Marys, and Shannon M. (Charles) Babu, of Cambridge, MA; eight great-grandchildren, Taylor (Kerry) Roberts, Gage Henkener, Emmitt Henkener, Chase Soliday, Vincent Babu, Anthony Babu, Duke Henkener, Drake Henkener; three siblings, Timothy (Joann) Kelly, of Medina, Arlene Miller, of Wapakoneta, and Kevin (Dawn) Kelly, of Sidney; and an extended family of nieces, nephews, and helpful neighbors.
Patricia was also preceded in death by her two daughters, Janet Lynn Henkener and Angela Suzanne Cooper; brother, Thomas Kelly; and brother-in-law, Gene Miller.
A 1948 graduate of St. Joseph High School, Pat was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.  In her younger years, she spent many summer seasons working alongside her mother at the family ice cream stand, the K&K Dairy Bar on Willipie Street.  A true creature of habit, this was the beginning of needing a nightly treat of ice cream. She also enjoyed working at the Sears Catalog Store for 11 years.  As her family grew, Pat began her true calling of being a housewife, but more importantly, a mother.  Her sewing projects outfitted not only her children, but also various places around the family home and camper, like the windows and cushions.  She also enjoyed reading and playing cards with family, where she always had an eye out for cheaters.  Many days were spent and memories made in the vegetable garden and tending to the fruit trees, the bountiful harvest canned carefully for delicious meals to come.  Pat and George loved to travel together, they were proud to have taken their camper to every state, with the exception of Alaska and Hawaii.  They also spent many years wintering in Ruskin, Florida.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 11, 2022 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wapakoneta.  Father Sean Wilson will officiate and interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Wapakoneta.  Friends may call from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 10, 2022 at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta.  Memorial contributions may be made to Petersburg Parishes Respect Life Committee.

She was preceded in death by 3 brothers Louis, John, Carlos Sizemore.
Pearlie enjoyed traveling and going on trips.  She also enjoyed movies and playing cards.  She was a member of the Y.M.C.A. and Only Believe Ministries, Botkins.

Melody retired from Otterbein in Cridersville after many years of service. She was a member of St. Johns Volunteer Fire & Rescue Auxiliary. Melody was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys. She could be found on Friday evenings in the stands with her family watching the Wapakoneta Redskins play football. Melody preferred the simpler things in life, like relaxing on the porch with her family. Most of all, Melody lived her life to the fullest with her family by her side.
Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 28, 2022 at St. Johns Methodist Church with Rev. Gary Rummel officiating.  Burial will follow at Mt. Tabor Cemetery, Gutman.

Survivors include 3 children; Jonathan (Jennifer) Hower, Krista (Louie Davis) Thomas, Ben (Tracey) Hower all of Wapakoneta; 11 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; a brother Carl (Allene) Hower and a sister Faith Hower.
Sparky attended Belmont High School in Decatur, IN and then proudly served in the U.S. Marines from 1970-1972.  He retired as a semi-truck driver in 2007. Recently, he returned to work as a security officer with Allied Security at the Husky Refinery in Lima. He was a member of the Wapak Nazarene Church for more than 25 years where he volunteered countless hours helping with funeral dinners and doing building maintenance.  He enjoyed camping with his family as often as possible and dearly loved his dogs.
Funeral services will begin at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Rev. Carolyn was a 1965 graduate of St. Joseph High School, 1983 graduate of Rhodes State College with an A.A.B. in Accounting and a 1995 graduate of Bluffton University with a B.A. in Organizational Management.  Carolyn spent most of her career in the accounting world, having worked for Westinghouse, West Ohio Gas, Waste Management and Hobart.  She maintained a tax practice for more than 30 years and served on the advisory board of Rhodes State College for more than 20 years.

Gary was a 1974 graduate of Wapakoneta Senior High School and then attended The Ohio State University where he earned a B.S. in Psychology, Master’s Degree in Public Administration, Associate’s Degree in Accounting and a certificate in Long Term Care Executive Education.  He had previously worked as a Nursing Home Administrator in Kentucky, Missouri, and Ohio. Gary was passionate about providing the best experience possible for his residents and employees.  Gary's most proud accomplishment was raising his children to be fantastic parents. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren; they were the lights of his life. His favorite pastimes included reading and studying the Bible, listening to music, cooking and shopping.  In 2018 he received a life saving lung transplant that gave him an additional 3 years of life.  He was greatly loved and will dearly missed.
There will be a funeral service and a time of sharing held at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, January 13, 2022 at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery, Uniopolis.  Family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

Survivors include her three sons, David (Colleen) Harrod, of Wapakoneta, Daniel (Peggy) Harrod, of New Bremen, and Donald (Margaret) Harrod, of Minster; 16 grandchildren;  31 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Phyllis Kessen, of Coldwater and Mary Ann Garmann, of Chickasaw; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Ida Lou was welcomed into Heaven by her son, Douglas Harrod; two daughters, Victoria Braun and Linda Jane Harrod; four brothers, Harold Long, Delbert Long, Gerald Long, and Charles (Marlene) Long; and two brothers-in-law, Leroy Kessen and Virgil Garmann.
Ida Lou was a 1948 graduate of St. Joseph High School, Wapakoneta.  She was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Ladies Sewing Group.  Her faith was a very important aspect of her life, in addition to her family.  She and her husband were inseparable during their almost 57 year marriage.  After his passing, she took comfort in spoiling her growing number of grandchildren and welcoming new great-grandchildren into the family.  As a homemaker, Ida Lou's work was never done.  She enjoyed sewing, both at home and with her friends each week, and cooking and baking.  She cherished the times that her whole family could be together, sharing a meal, or creating holiday memories with her baskets full of homemade treats.  In her quiet time, Ida Lou liked to put together jigsaw puzzles and complete word search books.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wapakoneta.  Father Jedidiah Tritle will officiate and interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Wapakoneta.  Friends may call from 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta.

He was born on April 3, 1949 in Lima, OH to Edward M. & Vera L. (Nolan) Wurst II who preceded him in death.  On June 12, 1971 he married Bonnie C. Howell and she survives in Columbus.
Survivors include three children Benjamin (Amy) Wurst, Jennifer (Dennis) Rounds, Elizabeth Wurst; 4 grandchildren Emma, Marin, Samuel, Edward; a brother Roger (Linda) Wurst; a nephew Chad; a niece Megan and several great-nieces and nephews.
Mike was a 1967 graduate of Delphos St. John’s High School.  He attended The Ohio State University where he earned a Bachelor’s in Science Education and then the University of Dayton where he earned a Master’s in Education.  He also attended the Lima Technical College where he achieved a degree as a Register Nurse.  Michael’s career in education span from being a High School science teacher in eastern Ohio, practicing as a nurse and an EMT in Mercer County along with Wapakoneta EMS and was an EMT instructor at Lima Technical College.  He retired from the Auglaize County Health Department.
Mike was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church, Delphos, St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wapakoneta and St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Columbus.
Mike was very active in the Black Swamp Boy Scout Council and the Knights of Columbus, Wapakoneta.  He greatly enjoyed being in charge of the St. Joseph 4th of July Festival.  He liked doing yard work, especially the black raspberries (a joke – he was outstanding in his field.)  He always had a great sense of humor.  He liked to mail jokes to several friends and to his grandchildren.  He always had a kind word for everyone he knew.  He enjoyed time with his grandchildren and several other who called him honorary Grandpa.  The last joke he didn’t get to hear – a 5 year old who met him at a Halloween party said Mike was the best Viking in a wheelchair that he ever saw.
Funeral services will begin at 4:00 p.m. Monday, January 10, 2022 at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta with Rev. Jedidiah Tritle officiating.  Family and friends may call from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service and then from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.  Burial of his cremated remains will be interred at St. Joseph Cemetery at a later date.
