Loretta J. Denson - December 10, 1957 - March 07, 2022

Departed: 03/07/2022 (Brooklyn)
Obituary Preview: Reflections of The Life of Loretta Denson Loretta Denson, daughter of the late Thomas Denson Sr. and Betty Denson was born December 10, 1957 in Springfield, Massachusetts. Loretta Denson transitioned from Earth to Heaven on Monday, March 7, 2022 at her residence located in Brooklyn, New York, to be in the presence of the Lord.
Loretta's parents migrated to New York while Loretta was just a young girl. Loretta grew up in Bedford-Stuyvesant (Albany Ave., Bkyn, NY). Loretta's formal education was in the New York City Public School System. Loretta met Nathaniel Breaker in Brooklyn. They were blessed with her one and only daughter, Monika. Loretta was gainfully employed as a clerk at CBS Records/CBS Toys (a/k/a Sony Music Entertainment) and moved up in the ranks to become a Senior Accountant for approximately 25 years at Sony Music located in midtown Manhattan. Loretta attended Brownsville Community Baptist Church where she was a member of the Convention Club.
Loretta’s outgoing persona (always had a smile and laugh) was reflected in her choice of outside activities. Her love for dancing included house parties, and family reunions) earned her the moniker “Twinkle Toes”. She also enjoyed taking long scenic drives to visit out-of-state family and friends. Loretta’s granddaughter T’niyah (“Punkin”) Foster lived with and cared for her nannie just as Loretta had done for her mother. Loretta’s love for all her grandchildren (Tatyannah, Antoine, Lamar and Angel) was phenomenal. Loretta also had a special bond with her nephews Wayne Jr., Anthony and Zyaire whom she considered her grandsons.
In late 2007, Loretta resigned from her career as an Accountant at Sony to tend to her Mother (Betty Denson) as her Mother’s health was failing. The inner strength Loretta acquired while caring for her Mother until her demise led to a dedication to help others in need. She then proceeded to join the healthcare profession. Loretta worked for Personal-Touch Home Care for numerous years of her life and only discontinued due to her own health matters.
Loretta’s buoyant personality and love of family was astounding. Loretta refused to let her illness stop the caring nature she always possessed for others. Although Loretta has departed from us physically, she still resides in the heart and soul of the numerous family members left behind. Loretta Denson is preceded in death by her Father (Thomas Denson Sr.); Mother (Betty Denson); Uncle (Henry Denson Sr. (Constance); Grandmother (Mattie B. Sanders) ; Siblings (Thomas Denson Jr. and Mary “Jo” Denson); Aunt Mae-Bertha and Uncles Jr and Bobby.
