Terrance Holtman - August 08, 1948 - December 18, 2023

Departed: 12/18/2023 (Beardstown)
Obituary Preview: Terrance Lynn Holtman of Chandler, Arizona died peacefully in his sleep on December 18, 2023.
Living in faith, “Terry” died in full assurance of God’s love and presence in this life and in the life to come.
A beloved, devoted, husband, and father, Terry is survived in death by his wife of 44 years, Regina L. (Goldman) Holtman of Chandler; his son and daughter-in-law Terrance L. Holtman, Jr. and Robin E. Holtman of Chandler; his daughter Regina E. Holtman of Little Rock, Ark. Terry was known as “Paps” to his grandchildren: Jackson and Ripley Holtman of Chandler and Grace and Hope Gideon of Little Rock. A proud uncle, he is survived by sister Kay Virginia, niece Cindy Sloan and husband Rick Sloan, and niece Sherri Phillips – all of Wiggins, Mississippi, and niece Terri Kerr and husband Tom Kerr of Rushville, Ill. Terry was born to Elizabeth “Maxine” and Alfred Holtman in Beardstown, Ill. on August 8, 1948, and both his parents precede him in death.
His work in software solutions took Terry and family to the metropolitan areas of St. Louis, Baltimore/Washington, Atlanta, and Dallas. Terry achieved rapid professional growth, success, and prestige; he especially enjoyed his work with military leadership and governmental agencies. No matter where around the country or world his career took him, Terry remained the consummate family man, with the same work ethic as in his beginnings on the family farm. He spent his weekends making Regina’s dreams come true with destination vacation plans and home construction and improvement projects, while she delighted him with her culinary and musical flair. Sundays, Terry dedicated most of his time to service in the church: usher, finance committee chair, teacher, mentor, pastoral confidante, and a gentle witness to his faith in God. He supported his children unwaveringly in any endeavor they chose to pursue. For over 20 years, Terry and Regina cared for her parents or his mother in their home, and for many years, three generations of family gathered nightly around the dinner table. In retirement, Terry and Regina resided in Arkansas and Arizona, near their children and grandchildren, and Terry fulfilled his dream of serving the church as a financial advisor on a full-time basis. Terrance Holtman was a man of constancy, faithfulness, and servant leadership – both inside his home and outside it.
Visitation will be 10-11 am on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at Sager Funeral Home in Beardstown, Ill., with a service celebrating life and resurrection following at 11 am. Instead of flowers, Terry would have appreciated gifts in his memory to the Hope Alliance Food Pantry, a ministry important to Terry that offers fresh food to the working poor in central Arkansas. Hope Alliance Ministry, c/o First United Methodist Church, AR PO Box 13984, Maumelle, Ark. 72113. Sager Funeral Home in Beardstown is in charge of arrangements. Condolences can be left online at www.sagerfuneralhome.com.
