Mr. Nugent, 80, of Pineville, entered eternal rest on Thursday, May 16, 2024.
Baynard attended Pleasant Grove Methodist Church, Esler Field. He made his living working as a truck driver for Roshto House Movers and also as a transporter for the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, storytelling, meeting up with friends for breakfast, and spending time with his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Baynard P. and Thelma Nugent; one daughter, Jennifer N. Carter; daughter-in-law, Angelia Nugent; one brother, Wes Nugent; and one sister, JoAnn Roshto.
Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include two sons, James Nugent of Esler Field, and Brian S. Nugent (Tamara) of Pineville; two daughters, Joni Donoho (Drew) of Fort Smith, Arkansas, and Jessica Nugent (Taylor) of Tioga; two brothers, Danny Pat Nugent (Judy) of Esler Field, and Raymond Nugent (Patsy) of Tennessee; three sisters, Patsy B. Earl was of the Pentecostal faith and he loved reading his Bible. He was a retired offshore driller and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and figuring. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie and Dorothy Phillips; and three brothers, Bobby Lee Phillips, Huey P. Phillips, and James Aubrey Phillips.

Patricia “Pat” Harmson passed away on May 7, 2024, at the age of 72, at CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini Hospital, Alexandria, LA. She was the wife of Lloyd Harmson. They shared a loving marriage of twenty-nine years.
Pat was born in Natchitoches to parents, RV and Dorothy Rachal on July 18, 1951. She attended and graduated from Colfax High School in 1969. Pat was employed with the Rapides Parish School Board and retired with twenty-five years of service as a cafeteria attendant.
Pat was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church where she enjoyed helping with Vacation Bible School and helping in the kitchen. She also enjoyed anytime spent with her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. Pat absolutely loved her scary movies and sci-fi shows. She also enjoyed her flowers and being in the garden. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, RV and Dorothy Rachal; and her former husband, Dwayne Rachal.

William was a member of Camp Eight United Pentecostal Church. He was a retired heavy equipment operator. His passions were fox hunting, deer hunting, running dogs, and working in his yard. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Gladys Terrell; and two brothers, Benny Terrell and Roy Terrell.

Claudie was a Christian and attended Sts. Francis and Anne Catholic Church in Kolin. He was a United States Marine Veteran, serving in the Vietnam War. He was a retired cross-country truck driver and later went on to work for Paragon Casino Resort as a shuttle bus driver for over twenty-five years. Claudie was known for his love of his grandbabies. He enjoyed sitting on his porch drinking coffee and eating honeybuns, while watching the outdoor wildlife. Claudie also enjoyed watching westerns and collecting old movies.  He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Claudie and Unnie V. Johnson, Sr.; three brothers, Ted Johnson, Waylon Johnson, and Richard Johnson; and one grandchild, Elizabeth Marie Price.

He was preceded in death by his son, Donald Ray Phillips, II; his wife, Sandra Honeycutt Phillips; his parents, Charles and Margerite Phillips; and numerous brothers and sisters.

With her camera in hand, she captured the beauty of nature, all while cracking jokes that lit up the room. Lisa never met a stranger, for anyone that met her, loved her. She was beautiful inside and out. Whether she was revving her Harley or navigating dirt roads, Lisa was the heart and soul of every gathering, making everyone feel like family. Her zest for life and infectious laughter will forever echo in our memories. Rest in peace, dear Lisa, you will be deeply missed but fondly remembered.

Calvin Arlen Andrew Alexander, a native of Bell, LA, former resident of Sorrel, LA, for forty-eight years, and a resident of Pollock for the last six years, was born January 1, 1939, and passed away on April 3, 2024.
He was born to Reverend T.C. Alexander and Mary Nell Alexander. He was married to Catherine Joe Delhomme, then to Carolyn Elaine Francois after Catherine's death.
“Paw-paw” (as he was affectionally called) was a career oilfield worker and electrician. His passion was guns; he bought, sold, repaired and collected them. Over the years, he acquired quite an impressive collection of old and unusual guns. He would look up and talk about the history of the guns he owned to anyone who was interested.
He was also very actively involved in his church at Calvary Pentecostal Church in Jeanerette. He was a Sunday school teacher and would have the young people over many times for gatherings, such as bonfires, wiener roasts and such. Later as a member of New Life Church in Ball, he (along with his wife, Carolyn) was the head of the Prime Timers Life Group. He was always interested in conversation, especially if it involved guns. He was affectionally loved by all he met and a source of inspiration due to his determination to live life. He loved to travel, and granny loved to drive, so they made quite the pair.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Joe Delhomme Alexander; his parents, Reverend T.C. and Mary Nell Alexander; his stepmother, Mabel Alexander; two siblings, Clarence David Alexander and Deloris Alexander Williams; and three step-siblings, Ronald Pinell, Barbra Pinell Alexander, and Lois Ann Firmin.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his wife, Carolyn Elaine Francois Alexander; three children, James Arlen Alexander, and wife Judy, Galen "Mike" Alexander, and wife Melissa, and Elizabeth “Liz” Alexander; one brother, Jackie Lee Alexander, and wife Jessie; two stepbrothers, Harry John Pinell II, and wife LeQuita, and Charles William Pinell, and wife Elizabeth; eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; two stepchildren, Jonathan David Francois, and wife Jeni, and Carl Bertman Francois, and wife Terra; eleven step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and many friends he has touched over the years.

Dr. Dee Anna Slavant, 85, of Alexandria, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, in her residence with her loving family by her side. She was born June 5, 1938, and was raised in Dewar, Oklahoma, where she attended Dewar High School and was a member of the Honor Society.
Dr. Dee Slavant holds a Doctorate Degree in Adult Education and Career Counseling and a Master’s Degree in Education with a Counseling Major. She wrote a book called "Remediation and Retention of Students on First-Time Scholastic Drop (R&R)." She was a Vocational Education Teacher at Sapulpa High School from 1970-1979. She then became the Head Guidance Counselor at Bunkie High School, and later became Director of Student Services at LSUA for twenty years, where she retired.
Dr. Dee was very active in Calvary Church ministries, and she enjoyed singing in the choir. In her free time, she loved to paint and draw; she was a talented artist. Throughout her lifetime, she achieved many accomplishments and won many awards, such as “Secretary of the Year” for St. Francis County, Arkansas. She was loved by many and was a motherly figure to her children and grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Dana Ann Davison; her parents, Russell Debon Courson, Sr. and Esther Washam Courson; one brother, Russell Courson, Jr.; and two sisters, Shirley Duncan and Joyce Powell.

He then worked for Raytheon, the Weather Service, followed by twenty years in civil service. He retired in Byron, Georgia. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
