Welden E. Tenney - March 20, 1932 - May 06, 2024

Departed: 05/06/2024 (Youngstown)
Obituary Preview: North Lima - Welden “Bud” Tenney, 92, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 6, 2024, at Aventura at Assumption Village in North Lima. He was taken after a short time with multiple cancers.
Bud was born Welden Edward Tenney on March 20, 1932 in Pickens, West Virginia. He was the eldest son of Dorse Tenney and Delsie Helmick Tenney.
After some problems with his father, as an infant, he was sent to live with his grandparents, Doney F. Tenney and Belle L. Tenney. When his grandfather became ill and unable to take care of the farm, Bud left school to help his grandmother with everything.
In 1952, he joined the U.S. Army and fought in the Korean War. He ended in Okinawa. While in the Army, he did most of the maintenance on the vehicles. He also ended up getting frost bite while serving. After his service he returned home to West Virginia.
Prior to joining the service, his sister introduced him to Betty Amick in 1949 and later were married. During their time together, they spent all their summers at the drag strip. My mom raced for a long time, but my dad raced over 50 years. He had bought an AMC Javelin to drive to work and back. It was a loud and fast street car. My mother knew what his intentions were. This car ended up being his last racecar—Speedy. His last race being in the year 2004. Quaker City Motor Sports Park started a Hall of Fame at the track and Bud’s name is first on the list.
Bud worked several jobs so Betty could stay at home with the children. He was that kind of man. He also worked and got his EGD and went to school to earn his Doctor of Motors certification. He worked several jobs over his years of employment. At one time, he had his own Coal Trucking company. After moving to Boardman, Ohio with his family, he worked daytime at Schwebel Baking Company and then part-time at Utsinger’s Towing. He finally retired from Schwebel’s yet still helped out at Utsinger’s.
He was always willing to help anyone: family, friends, neighbors, racing buddies. He would do this even if he really wasn’t able. He let some of our relatives live with us when they were down on their luck. It made our home a little crowded, but he wanted to help. He worked on all the neighbor’s cars. Bud would have given the shirt off his back if it was necessary. He was known by many and loved by everyone.
Bud will be deeply missed by his daughters, Barb (John) Zagotti and Phyllis (Joe Edwards) Beharry. He will also be missed by his grandchildren, Raven Beharry, Rebecca Beharry, Nicole Bable, KC Bable (Nic Deal), and Christopher Pregi. He will be missed by his great grandchildren, Jeremiah Bable and Nico Deal.
Bud was preceded in death by his siblings, Louise Long, Alvin Tenney, and Dale Tenney. His parents and grandparents also preceded him. He will be met in Heaven by his wife, Betty, his son, Michael and his daughter, Tammy Bable.
The family would like to thank the loving and caring staff at Aventura at Assumption Village. A special thanks to Julia, Nissy, and the other nurses and STNA's that worked on the Intermediate unit.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, May 13 at the Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Avenue in Boardman. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 14 at the funeral home followed by full military honors at Green Haven Memorial Gardens Cemetery provided by the great men of VFW Post 9571 of Ellsworth.
Family and friends are encouraged to offer prayers for the family and support via phone call, text, email or may visit the Book of Memories at www.rossifunerals.com.

Richard A. Bisconti - August 18, 1942 - March 27, 2024

Departed: 03/27/2024 (Youngstown)
Obituary Preview: Richard Anthony Bisconti, 81, of Lowellville, OH, died at home on March 27, 2024 surrounded by his family after a long battle with vascular dementia.
Richard was born on August 18, 1942, to Tony and Frances (Davanzo) Bisconti also of Lowellville. He was raised (and survived) by his sister Marlene in a community full of his aunts, uncles, and cousins. He graduated from Lowellville High School in 1960 and married his high school sweetheart, Beverly (Colaneri), on May 11, 1963. Richard is not only survived by his wife, but also by their three daughters, Gina (Jack) Durkin, Lori (Ray) Carlson, and Toni Lynn (Lindsey) Bisconti; his four grandchildren, Michael Romeo, Sarah (Erik) Johnson, Raymond (Alexis) Carlson, and Emily (Joe) Ohlin; and his three great-grandchildren, Madison, Leah, and Nora, all of whom loved their Papoo very much.
Richard earned an Associate Degree in Accounting from Youngstown State University in 1971 and subsequently made an impact on the healthcare industry, devoting much of his life to his career. In the 1970s and 1980s, he worked at Blue Cross Blue Shield, eventually becoming the Vice-President of Provider Relations. In the early 1990s, he left BCBS to start one of our area’s first Preferred Provider Organizations, PrimeNet, Inc. He and Beverly ran PrimeNet for 10 years and simultaneously founded a health insurance brokerage company, R.A. Bisconti and Associates. Richard retired from his full-time career in the early 2000s, but continued to be a healthcare broker for the next decade or so. After retirement, he and Beverly became snowbirds, spending part of the year in Bonita Springs, FL, until their grandchildren began participating in school activities, which led to their return to full-time residency in the Mahoning Valley. Richard loved to travel, especially to Italy, going back several times with his wife and grandchildren. One of his most recent visits was particularly special, as he was able to take his two grandsons. He also cruised several times with his wife, including one in the Mediterranean with their two granddaughters. Finally, he was able to travel to Israel with his daughter Lori for a trip of a lifetime that included several Christian landmarks, and most shockingly, a required camel ride for transportation. The video of him riding the camel is a sight we will never forget!
Richard was a member of several social and golf clubs and a parishioner at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary in Lowellville. However, the membership most dear to his heart was the Mt. Carmel Society of Lowellville, Ohio, of which he has been a member for 50 years. Richard’s love for the Society and its festival is something that he passed down to his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Richard has been the President of the Society twice and has served on the executive board for much of his membership. Currently, his two grandsons are on the executive board carrying on their grandfather’s legacy. Mt. Carmel’s 128-year-old Feast Day on July 16th and the accompanying festival were the highlight of Richard’s year, never missing a moment, including the parade, mass, 6 o’clock bombs, babydoll dance, and fireworks. He was the Parade Marshall for decades before handing it over to his grandson Michael.
Richard had an incredible life, full of family, love, success, travel, and blessings. After a long and near-fatal battle with COVID, he was able to recover and enjoy another 2 and a half years of grandchildren weddings, great-grandchildren births, babydoll dances, family get-togethers, and dinners with Beverly. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
The family would like to say thank you to FirstLight Home Care of the Valley, especially Kayla, Laura, and Nikki, who took incredible care of Richard in the last month of his life, as well as Tom from Akeso Hospice Care, who was available to us around the clock with dedication, patience, and compassion. We would also like to thank our family, friends, and community for their love, generosity, and support.
Friends and family will be received at Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral home, 4442 South Avenue, Youngstown, from 4-7pm on Monday, April 1, 2024. There will be prayers at 9:30 am on Tuesday, April 2 at the funeral home followed by an 11am Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Holy Rosary Church in Lowellville.
In lieu of family donations, the family requests that your donation go to the Dementia Society of America or The Lowellville Mt. Carmel Society.

Obituary Preview: Canfield - Marjean Nicolli, 77, of Canfield passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 22, 2024, at her home, with her loving husband and family by her side.
Marjean was born February 27, 1946 in Youngstown and raised in Struthers. A 1964 graduate of Struthers High School. She retired from Utility Contracting Co. As a Christian woman, she attended weekly services at Grace Fellowship Church.
She enjoyed dancing and loved the music and artists from her generation, in addition to Italian Classics. She loved to cook for her family. Christmas was her favorite holiday, which she always loved to decorate. In her pastime, she would go to Local Italian fests with her husband Joe of 27 plus years. Sometimes, she would be even lucky enough that the deer would walk up to the car window for a snack. She looked forward to weekly dinner dates with her husband, family gatherings, and having constant company at the house.
Visitors would have to be patient, as she would ask them if they were hungry and if they wanted coffee, pop, dessert, leftovers, etc., Always wanting to make sure everyone had a full belly. “No we’re fine, don’t go through the trouble” was an exercise in futility while she proceeded to put things out on the table one at a time.
