Dennis was a 1967 graduate of Southern Lehigh High School in Center Valley, PA and a 1971 graduate of Kutztown State College in Kutztown, PA. He was a Vietnam Veteran, having served in the US Airforce. Dennis was employed as a production manager for the Dal-Tile Co. in Fayette, AL. He attended Bethlehem Methodist Church in Fayette, AL. In addition to his wife, survivors include his daughters, Kristin (Jason) Woodruff and Stephanie Garber, both of Fayette, AL.; grandson, Jason Craig Woodruff. He was predeceased by a son, Craig Garber and his brother, David Garber. His funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2022 at 11:00 AM in the Robert S. Nester Funeral Home, 8405 Kings Highway New Tripoli, PA 18066, with a calling hour to begin at 10:00 AM. Interment in New Bethel Cemetery, Kempton, PA. Pastor Darryl Hamm will officiate.

Obituary Preview: Gary S. Young, 69, of New Tripoli, PA passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, March 26, 2022, with his loving wife by his side. He was the husband of Janet (Mertz) Young, with whom he celebrated 36 years of marriage in December of 2021. Born in Fort Leonard Wood, MO, he was a son of Linford “Buddy” and Jean “Ginger” (Kremus) Young. Gary was a graduate of Whitehall HS Class of 1971.  He was a veteran, having served in the US Army stationed in Germany from 1972 to 1974.  He worked for East Penn Manufacturing in Topton, PA and also as an employee/owner of Blind Ambitions, in charge of installing blinds, shades and awnings for over 35 years. Prior to that, he was employed for 16 years at Mack Trucks in Allentown. In addition to his wife, survivors include his sister, Gail M. Bundra of Walnutport; brother, Glen T. Young (Eileen Butler) of Northampton; sister-in-law, Sandra L. Mertz (Brian Sharrow) of Arloington, VA; nieces, Carrie L. Bundra of Walnutport, and Jenna L. (David) Martin of Northampton; nephews, Brian S. (Jenny) Young of Easton, and Jared J. Bundra of Walnutport; four great-nieces; 2 great-nephews. Gary was predeceased by his aunt, Joni Kremus.
Gary had a passion to live in the woods and knew the importance of giving back to the land.  He revitalized the old barn into a welcoming home for family & friends to gather.  Many traditions were made, including First Day of Fishing parties, tales & tunes around the fire, and Jeep rides up the mountain, all steps to becoming a “member of the land clan.” Gary loved the wonders of travel, enjoying time spent cruising the bays of Delaware and Maryland on the family pontoon, and journeying off to far flung places, such as Costa Rica, Panama, Nicaragua, Belize, Colombia, and Alaska.
His memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at 11:00 AM in the Robert S. Nester Funeral Home, 8405 Kings Highway, New Tripoli, PA, with a visitation period to begin at 9:30 AM. Pastor Cindy White will officiate.

Obituary Preview: Shelba J. (Grumbles) Mengel, 79, of New Tripoli, PA passed away on March 13, 2022 in the Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest, Allentown, PA. She was the devoted wife of Franklin E. “Skip” Mengel, with whom she celebrated 55 years of marriage on April 14, 2021. Born in San Saba, TX, she was the daughter of Cecil and Willie (Carpenter) Grumbles. Shelba was employed with the Hartford Life Insurance Company in Allentown as a service representative until retirement. She greatly enjoyed bird watching with her husband, and spending time with her beloved family. In addition to her husband, survivors include her daughter, Susan J. Mengel-Snyder of New Tripoli; sons, Michael D. (Jaime) Mengel of Ironton, and Gregory H. (Veronica) French of Brownsville, IN; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, Bobby Grumbles, Denton, TX. She was predeceased by an infant son, John French. There will be a private memorial service held on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 10:30 AM in the Robert S. Nester Funeral Home, 8405 Kings Highway New Tripoli, PA 18066.  Rev. Dr. Robert C. Obituary Preview: Oscar Enoch Kleinsmith, 84, of Greenwich Township, went to be with his Lord on February 26, 2022 in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown, Pa.  He was the husband of Nancy L. (Serfass) Kleinsmith.  They celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary in November of 2021.  He was born in Emmaus, a son of the late Edwin and Luella (Rohrbach) Kleinsmith.  He was a self-employed farmer in Albany Township for 35 years until retiring in 1992.  He also worked part time as a milk truck driver for the former Carl Loch Milk Hauling in New Tripoli. He also drove for Albright’s Mill, the former Kunkel’s Mill of Kempton, Hunter Keystone Peterbilt for eight years, Berk Excavating, and R.S. Snyder from 2006 until 2021. Oscar was a member of Ziegel’s U.C.C. Church, Breinigsville, PA, where he served as the current Treasurer and former Councilman.  Oscar was very active in his community, serving as Albany Township Supervisor and Roadmaster for 18 years; Roadmaster for Greenwich Township for 21 years, retiring in 2006, and serving as a Greenwich Township Supervisor for 6 years and currently serving on the Township Planning Commission since 1999.  He was also a former President of the Kempton Rod and Gun Club; a Lifetime Member and former Fire Chief for the Kempton Fire Co. for 25 years.  He was a Director of the Kempton Community Center for several years during which time he ran the Tractor Pull for over 20 years. He was a member of the board and current treasurer and former Unner Hauptman for the Grundsow Lodge #15, Kutztown.  In addition to his loving wife, survivors include three sons, Timmy A. Kleinsmith and his companion, Lisa Dietrich, Terry L. (Barbara) Kleinsmith, both of Kempton, and Ted L (Gail) Kleinsmith of Winston Salem, NC; a brother Earl E. Kleinsmith of Emmaus; ten grandchildren; Kyanti, wife of Mihir Patel, Chantel, wife of Joe Faller, Slate (Katelyn), Takyra wife of Alan Batz, Jared (Whitney), Cassie, Carrisa, Treasure, Isaac and Ezra; also four great-grandchildren, Mason, Juliana, Chase and Meko.  His Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at 11:00 AM in the Robert S. Nester Funeral Home, 8405 Kings Highway New Tripoli, PA 18066, with calling hours beginning at 9:30 AM. His interment will be private.  Rev. Dr. Larry D. Pickens will officiate.  In Lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory are requested to the Kempton Fire Co Truck Crew, sent to P.O. Box 62 Kempton, PA 19529.

Obituary Preview: Jenny-Lou Kemmen Fisher, 79, of Kempton, PA passed away at home on February 16, 2022. She was the loving wife of Dr. Larry Fisher for the past 50 years. Born in Bryn Mawr, PA, she was the daughter of Hugo and Helen (Barnes) Kemmen. She was a 1960 graduate of Lower Marion High school. She then earned her BA in Anthropology from University of Pennsylvania, which included a History teaching certificate. She taught for 11 years at Radnor High School. Jenny and Larry were married in 1971.  Later, the couple moved to State College where Larry served as Assistant Director of the Penn State Band program.  Jenny went on to earn her M.Ed. in Reading Development from Penn State University where she was employed part time as a tutor for some of Joe Paterno’s football players. Jenny was employed as a reading specialist for Pocono Mountain School District while Larry was Professor of Music History and Department Chair at East Stroudsburg University. They both retired in 2001 and built a home in Albany Twp., near Kempton. In addition to her husband, survivors include her daughter, Amy S. (Ryan) Thompson of Media, PA; son, Kurt (Christine) Fisher of Nazareth, PA; and three grandchildren. Jenny-Lou was predeceased by her brother, James Kemmen. In accordance with the family’s wishes, there will be no formal services at this time.

Anna was a member of New Bethel Church in Kempton.  In addition to her devoted husband, survivors include her son, Dennis C. (Carol) Strunk of Kempton; daughter, Darlene C. Kunkel of Kempton; daughter-in-law, Delores Strunk of Hamburg; four grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, David C. Strunk and her sisters, Dorothy Smith and Florence Hauser. Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at 11:00 AM in New Bethel Church, 135 New Bethel Church Road Kempton, PA 19529, with a calling period to begin at 10:00 AM. Interment in adjoining cemetery. Rev. Robert Ziemer will officiate. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Robert S. Nester Funeral Home, New Tripoli, PA.

Sandy was a 1977 graduate of Kutztown Area High School. She had various employers over the years but worked several years at the former Terry’s Place in New Smithville, the Kutztown Manor and both the Former Kistler’s and Schleicher’s Restaurants in New Tripoli. She also worked for the Transfer Station for Lynn Township.
She was a member of Jacob’s Church in New Tripoli. She also was a member of the Lynnport, Kempton and New Tripoli Fire Companies. In the past, Sandy volunteered and was a Board Member for the Lynnport Fire Company. Sandy had a passion for Bingo, feeding the numerous deer that would come into the backyard and she was a faithful viewer of The Young and the Restless since its debut in 1973. Sandy was known for her contagious laugh and her smile.
In addition to her loving husband, survivors include her daughter, Amanda D. wife of Kenneth Seibert Jr., New Tripoli; step-daughter, Jessica Lloyd, Schnecksville, and her furbaby, Mask; grandchildren, Mary, Ashlyn, Kayden, Molly, Kolten and her fur grandbaby Cora; sisters, Marilyn (Frank) Egner of Emmaus PA, Shirley (Newell “Buddy”) Arnold of Mohrsville PA, Judith (Michael) Weaver of Laureldale PA. She was predeceased by her son, Gary G. “Butch” Brobst Jr. and her brother, Robert A. Potzman, Jr.
