Cielicki, Jr. 79, of Harrison Township died at Forbes Hospital on Thursday, April 11, 2024.  Stanley was born in Manhattan, NY on Sunday, June 11, 1944 to the late Stanley P. and Florence Caccese Cielicki, Sr.  He graduated from Curtis High School, NY and went on to serve his country in the Army during the Vietnam War before pursuing a career as a truck driver working as a self-employed owner-operator before retiring and becoming a courier for 10 years at Allegheny Valley Hospital.
Stanley is survived by his wife of 32 years, Gertrude “Trudy” Smith Cielicki; his children: Bob and Michelle Cielicki; his step-children: Joy (Kevin) Weeter and Lee Robinson; his grandson: Brandon Cielicki; his step-grandchildren: Morgan and Jared Weeter, and Gavin (Jaden) Robinson; 2 great-grandchildren: Killian and Lachlan Robinson; 3 sisters: Anne, Judy, and Tina; and his cat: Lucy.  In addition to his parents, Stanley was preceded in death by his son: Michael Cielicki.

She enjoyed reading, watching game shows and soap operas, baking, sewing and enjoyed being around her family especially all her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
May is survived by her children: Dennis (Carol) Ringer of West Deer Township, PA and Nancy (Damian) Zurisko of Springdale, PA and 5 grandchildren: Lisa (Regis) Uhric, Jonathan (Beth) Ringer, Anthony (Brigit) Zurisko, Jeffrey (Danielle) Zurisko and Bradley (Angela) Zurisko; 12 great grandchildren: Regis and Trevor Uhric, Hannah,Rachel and Lily Ringer, Molly, Margaret and Anna Zurisko, Luca and Madeline Zurisko and Aubrey and Addison Zurisko and her brother: Floyd “Buzz” Stark.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 67 years: Wilmer F. “Buck” Ringer (December 21, 2013) and her sister: Ruth Raybuck.

Jim was a graduate of East Deer High School and Indiana University.  He was a veteran serving in the Air Force during the Vietnam War.  He worked as a guard at a recycling plant and enjoyed making model cars and playing his guitar and listening to music.

Obituary Preview: Arthur “Art” Harold Garmer, Jr., 92, of Springdale, PA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 2, 2024 surrounded by his family just 6 days after his wife Shirley passed.  Arthur was born on Tuesday, September 22, 1931 in Lardintown, PA to the late Arthur H. and Ruth (Felsing) Garmer. Art was a proud veteran in the Army who served honorably during the Korean War as an engineering equipment mechanic. Following his time in the service, he was a lifelong owner operator Truck Driver.  He retired at the age of 85.  He was a 70-year member of the local VFW and American Legion.  He was a 32nd degree Mason, as well as a dedicated member of the Syria Shriners, Hillbilly Masons and the NRA.  Arthur's lifelong passions included restoring antique vehicles, tractors and motors; he was a long-time member of the Northwestern PA Steam Engine Association.  He was a legendary mechanic, who never gave up on a motor until it was running smoothly.  Art was an avid reader who loved riding his motorcycle, boating, spending winters in Florida and most of all spending time with his family. Arthur is survived by his children: Tammy (Mike) Jones of Pierson, FL,  Jennifer Garmer of Bethany Beach, DE, Douglas (Terri) Garmer of Belton, TX  step-daughter: Cynthia (Dave) Thomas of Gilpin Township, step-sons: Ronald (June) Arner of Valencia, PA, Donald (Diane) Arner of Vandergrift, Randy (Lori) Arner of New Castle, OH; and 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 37 years: Shirley A. (Kendell) Garmer (February 24, 2024), and his siblings: Theda Fredley and Alvin Garmer. Jack was a former member of the Central Presbyterian Church, Tarentum, and was a member of the Car Club in Natrona Heights. Jack enjoyed motorcycles, watching birds and gardening.
He is survived by his daughter, Heidi L. Wallace, of Natrona Heights; his grandson, Dane W. Wallace; and his siblings, James Clark and Jeanne Clark. Jack was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 17 years, Deborah (Sober) Clark; his son, Brian Clark and his siblings, William, John, Herbert, and Donald Clark and Irene Brooks.

Peters and Janice Ferver Warden. Alan graduated from Highlands High School Class of 1973 and went to serve in the US Navy where he retired after 25 years of service.
Alan was an avid swimmer and used to compete on the Highlands, former Tarentum YMCA, and Brackenridge Heights Country Club swim teams; he also played the tuba in the school band. Alan loved dogs, especially taking them for walks, and enjoyed playing chess and darts.
Alan leaves behind to cherish his memory his step-mother: Carol Peters; his son: Alan F. Peters, Jr. of Hannibal, MO, his grandchildren: Alana, Anthony, Jordan, Jaelyn, and Ariel Peters all of Hannibal; his siblings: Robin (Don) Painter of Haddon Twp., NJ, John (Karen) Peters of Natrona Heights, Robert E. Obituary Preview: Sandra “Sandy” H. (Hudgins) Demharter, 74, of Natrona Heights, PA, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, January 29, 2024 with her family by her side.  Sandra was born on Saturday, July 2, 1949 in Richmond, VA to the late Hezekiah and Dora (Foster) Hudgins.
Sandy graduated from the Kecoughtan High School Class of 1967 in Hampton, VA and attended the University of South Carolina before marrying her husband Paul and staying home to raise their two sons.  She was deeply involved in her boys’ lives and dedicated to all of their school, sporting, and Boy Scout activities.  Sandy also served as President of the Highlands Band Boosters and was a proud Brackenridge Heights Country Club Swim Team mom.  She was a member of the First Christian Church and the Sons and Daughters of the Pearl Harbor Survivors, Inc.  Sandy loved all of her dogs and enjoyed most spending time with her family, especially being “Grammy” to her granddaughters.
Sandra is survived by her husband of 52 years: Paul Demharter; her sons: Scott Demharter of Norfolk, VA and Joel Demharter of Natrona Heights; and her 2 granddaughters: Kaylee and Tessa Demharter.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to all of Sandy’s nurses at Allegheny Health Network, especially Karen, Melissa, Paula, Laura, and Christine.

She was a member and past president of both the Natrona Heights VFW and the Brackenridge American Legion, she worked in the kitchen for Meals on Wheels and volunteered at the voting poles. She enjoyed going to the family camp, playing cards with friends and she especially enjoyed being around her family and babysitting her neighbor’s dog. Janet is survived by her son: George (Annie) Mack, Jr. of Natrona Heights, PA, her grandchildren: Jennifer (Josh Keener) Gula, Erica (Ron) Collins, Justin and Josh Mack, and Kylie (Brian Gamble) Mack, her great grandchildren: Madison Bouch, McKenzie Bouch, Zoey Collins, Douglas Corbett and Kendall Gamble.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: George E. Mack, Sr., her son: Richard A. Mack, her daughter-in-law: Mary Ellen (Martinka) Mack, a sister: Phyllis J. Beer and 2 brothers: Robert and Albert Smith. The family would like to thank the staff of Heritage Hospice for their kind and tender care that they gave to Janet.

Bruce M. Maloney, 69, of Pittsburgh, PA passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at East End Health & Rehabilitation Center, Pittsburgh.  Bruce was born on Saturday, June 12, 1954 in Trenton, NJ to the late Joseph and Muriel Smith Maloney.  Bruce attended St. Teresa Elementary in Perrysville, graduated from North Catholic High School and Carnegie Mellon University.  Bruce worked as an Admissions Supervisor for UPMC retiring in 2020 after 33 years of service.
Bruce loved watching and cheering for the Penguins, Steelers and the Pirates and he loved listening to a wide variety of music.  He was an avid gardener who loved flowers and sharing pictures of his garden on Facebook.  He enjoyed traveling, especially loved going on cruises and the friends that he met while cruising.  Bruce loved sharing his knowledge of Pittsburgh as an Uber driver.  Bruce had many fond memories of time spent at the Jersey shore with family and friends and was sad that he did not get to the shore once more.
Bruce was truly grateful for the wonderful care he received through the UPMC network of hospitals, nurses and doctors.  Especially UPMC Hillman Cancer Center and Dr. Leonard Appleman.
Bruce leaves behind to cherish his memory his siblings: Kevin (June) Maloney of Boston, MA, Dave (Gina) Maloney of San Diego, CA, Mary Ann (Al) Miano of Silver Lake, OH and Brian Maloney of Akron, OH; his nieces: Jess and Cassandra and his nephews: Tommy and Dave. She was born Saturday, May 6, 1944, in Brackenridge, to the late Charles Robert and Anna (Urbany) Teeters, and resided all of her life in Brackenridge and Natrona Heights. She graduated as a licensed practical nurse from the St. Francis School of Nursing and worked as a LPN for Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights, for more than 40 years, prior to her retirement in 2006. Bonnie was a member of the Central Presbyterian Church, Tarentum. In addition, she enjoyed horses, dogs, embroidery, reading and puzzles.
She is survived by her brother, Thomas R. Teeters, of Freemont, Calif., and her nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents mentioned above, she was preceded in death by her sister, Marjorie Fish, and a brother, Charles Robert Teeters, Jr.
Her family held a private visitation and funeral service at the ROBERT PETERS FUNERAL HOME INC., 1521 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights, 724-224-7730. Her pastor, the Rev. Robert Dayton officiated. Committal services and burial were held at the Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights.

Swager; 2 grandchildren: Blake Johns and Rachael Derewicz and her brother: Clifton Bennett.  The family would like to give a special thank you to her two grandchildren; Tracy Horgos and Ashlee Mayuric who helped tremendously during her final days along with her home hospice team.

Norman Hazlett Jacobs - March 21, 1927 - May 17, 2023

Obituary Preview: Norman H. Jacobs, 96, of Natrona Heights, passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2023, while in the loving care of family members and attentive staff at Sunrise, McCandless.  Norman was a lifelong resident of Natrona Heights.  He was born March 21, 1927, in Allegheny Valley Hospital, to the late Norman G. and Helen Hazlett Jacobs.  He graduated from Har-Brack High School in 1945, served in the U.S. Navy until late 1946, graduated from Grove City College in 1950 with a degree in History, and from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law with a J.D. in 1953, whereupon he joined his grandfather, Samuel M. Hazlett, and uncle, Howard J. Hazlett, and their colleagues in the law firm of Hazlett, Gannon & Jacobs, where he practiced law into his early nineties.
In 1951, he married the late Joan Schmitt, whom he had known since 1st Grade, and to whom he was devoted and happily married for 60 years, until her passing in 2011.  In his legal practice, among other work, he represented the Highlands School District for many years, including during the construction of the Senior High School, the Peoples Federal Savings and Loan Association, Harmarville Rehabilitation Center, and the Fawn-Frazer Joint Water Authority, which he helped incorporate over fifty years ago, in 1967, and reincorporated 50-years later in 2017.
In his youth, Mr. Jacobs attended Central Presbyterian Church in Tarentum with his sister, parents, grandparents, and aunts, uncles, and cousins.  Upon marrying Joan in 1951, he joined her church, the Natrona Heights Presbyterian Church, where he served on the session, and as a trustee, and taught adult Sunday school classes.  In his last years, Mr. Jacobs attended events at the First Presbyterian Church of Tarentum.  Through most of his adult life, Mr. Jacobs was an active member of the Y’s Men at the local YMCA, where he enjoyed their evening meals, presentations, and athletic games and participating in their community projects; he was also a Mason and active in the meetings and work of the Pollock Lodge No. 502.  Mr. Jacobs loved reading, collecting books, and stopping by the Community Library of Allegheny Valley.  He also loved meeting with friends at local restaurants to discuss the people and history of the Alle-Kiski Valley, as well as myriad other subjects.  Mr. Jacobs spent a portion of every summer of his life with his family at Chautauqua Lake, NY, where he had several life-long friends and many acquaintances.  In his last decade, he enjoyed the companionship of many local friends and met with friends on almost a daily basis at either Massart’s Restaurant in Tarentum or Eat’n Park in the Heights.
Norman is survived by his three sons, William N. Jacobs, of Miami, Fla., Kurt H. (Brian) Jacobs, of Washington, D.C., and Mark R. (Cathy) Jacobs, of Gibsonia; grandchildren, Molly (Ray) Moody, Ryan Jacobs, Jordan Jacobs, Hailey Jacobs, and Emily Jacobs; great-grandchildren, Travis and Brennan Moody, and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Joan in 2011; his parents, Norman G. and Helen Hazlett Jacobs; and his sister, Mary Helen Talbot.

Obituary Preview: Stephen Thomas “Chippy” Rovnanik, 96, of Brackenridge, died peacefully in his sleep on Monday, April 17, 2023 at Concordia Lutheran Home, Cabot, where he was residing for the past two years.
Steve was born on Sunday, March 13, 1927 in Brackenridge to the late Matus and Barbara Barcak Rovnanik, first generation immigrants from Czechoslovakia.  Steve left high school in 11th grade to serve in the US Navy during WWII; after which he went to work at PPG in Creighton until his retirement in 1989 while also working on and off for many years at Andy’s Amoco Gas Station in Brackenridge.  Steve was a member of the Guardian Angels Parish - St. Ladislaus Church, Natrona and was a life member of the Brackenridge American Legion and the Oregon Hunting and Fishing Club of Brackenridge. Post retirement and in his prime, Steve kept himself very active. He enjoyed golfing, gardening - fresh tomatoes and kohlrabi being his favorite, putzing around outside, and watching his grandchildren, spending many summers with them at Sylvan Pool. A patriot and avid Pittsburgh sports fan, he passed time watching the Steelers, Pirates, Penguins and old westerns.  But Steve’s pride and joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Steve leaves behind to cherish his memory his two daughters: Paula (David) Pawlak and Karen (John) Peters, both of Natrona Heights; his 3 grandchildren: Stacie Jo (Michael) Dickson of Annapolis, MD, Lindsay Peters (Elias) Heilman of Freeport, and Stephen (Angela) Peters of Pittsburgh; his 7 great-grandchildren whom he adored: Bingham, Remington, Easton & Willow Heilman and Wrenna, Kolson & Zara Peters; a brother-in-law Gerald Durci; along with many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Marian Durci Rovnanik (Jan. 5, 2021) and his siblings: Paul, Frank, and Joseph Rovnanik, Mary Znosko, and Steffy Kolek. Dorothy Durci Grandey, 84, of Mantoloking, NJ died on Saturday, March 11, 2023 in New Jersey.  She was born on Tuesday, December 13, 1938 in Sarver, PA to the late Michael John and Magdalene Elavski Durci.  She was raised in the Pittsburgh area and relocated to New Jersey, where she had resided since 1967.  She was a graduate of Vincentian High School in Pittsburgh.  She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with a concentration in secondary level English and Literature from Carlow College, a Master of Arts degree in Guidance and Counseling, along with Certification in Supervision and Administration, from Kean University of New Jersey, and a doctoral degree in the Department of Social and Philosophical Foundations of Education from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey.  Dr. Grandey served as a Guidance Director, Supervisor, Director of Curriculum and Instruction, Director of Special Services , and Assistant Superintendent of Schools during her years as an educator in the Plainfield, New Providence, and Montville Township School Districts in New Jersey.  After her retirement from a long career in education, she continued to serve as an education consultant to several New Jersey public school districts and conducted teacher training sessions on a variety of education topics for local districts, as well as at state and national conventions.  Dr. Grandey was a member of the Rutgers Chapter of Phi Delta Kappa, the New Jersey Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development, the New Jersey Council of Teachers of English, the New Jersey Council of Teachers of World Languages, the New Jersey Council of Education, and the Principals and Supervisors Association.  She was a member of Sacred Heart Parish in Bay Head, New Jersey and Guardian Angels Parish, Natrona Heights, PA.  Dr. Grandey is survived by a brother: Gerald Durci of Brackenridge, PA; several nieces and nephews and a number of great nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law: Sister Brigid Marie Grandey.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Richard R. Grandey; her brother: William Durci; 4 sisters: Helen Priore, Marian N. Rovnanik, Rosalie Jean Wilson and Cynthia Sue Bohatch; several nieces and nephews and her long time companion Evan “Steve” Gillingham. Donald L. Rowe, 96, passed peacefully into the heavenly embrace of his Lord and Savior surrounded by family at Magnolia Place of Saxonburg Hospice on February 16, 2023.  He was born in 1926 and graduated Ken High School in 1943 in New Kensington, Pennsylvania and enlisted in the US Navy in 1944 and served during World War II.  He was predeceased by his wife of 69 years, Jean Neyman Rowe. Together they resided in Natrona Heights and Saxonburg where he owned and operated Don Rowe Masonry, and where he and Jean raised their two children, son Tracy and daughter Erin. Don was a proud WWII Navy Veteran and wore his USA Naval hat everyday with pride for his country. He was an active member of Pollock Mason Lodge 502 and the Shrine Motor Court and was a faithful participant in his United Methodist Men’s Bible Study group. He loved family and especially his four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Don enjoyed drinking coffee with his buddies at the local gas station, and delighted in attending antique car shows and gatherings. He loved watching Pittsburgh Pirates baseball and immensely enjoyed the countless gatherings with family. He marveled at fishing and was always up for playing golf anywhere with family.  He is survived by a son: Tracy (Debbie) Rowe, of Saxonburg, PA and a daughter Erin (John) Brown, of Punta Gorda, FL; four grandchildren including Chase (Jocelyn) Rowe, of Valencia, PA; and Marisa (Shane) Jakubovic, of Valencia, PA; Emerson (Nate) Graves, of Marquette, MI; and Ellery Graves, of Oakland, CA along with seven great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his wife who died on 7/6/2018; his brothers: Francis, Edwin and Harry Rowe; and his sister: Wanda Crawford.

She was a member of the Buffalo Township Senior Citizens, she made lap robes for Harmarville Rehab and she did volunteer work for the Veterans Hospital and Health South.  Carrie enjoyed cooking and quilting.
Carrie is survived by her son:  Robert (Marilee) Ehrman of Buffalo Township, PA; 4 grandchildren: Kye (Brittany) Ehrman, Craig (Amanda) Ehrman, Leah (Brian) Anderson and McKay (Kevin) Roberts and 5 great grandchildren: Brayden, Blake and Addison Ehrman and Chase and Conner Anderson and her daughter in law: Kathy Ehrman.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Frank N. Ehrman, Jr. (9/14/2005); her son: Charles David Ehrman and her 2 brothers: Dr. Fred Kurn and William Kurn.
