Obituary Preview: Darrin Wayne Allen was born April 5, 1969 to Henry Jones and Mary Allen of Wichita, Ks. Darrin attended Cleveland Elementary and Roosevelt Middle School. He later graduated from East High.
Darrin married Pamela Polk in 1997. To this union they had a son, Trevon Allen.
Darrin accepted Christ at an early age at North Ash Church of Nazarene in Wichita, Ks where he sang in the choir. He was known for his fashion sense, comedic personality and unique style of singing. Darrien would " light up" a room when he entered. Darrin loved his family. He loved his church family and family dinners too.
Darrin 's favorite words was to say "Who you With"... Darrin will be greatly missed. Darrien is preceded in death by his father Henry Lee Jones and Uncle Alonzo Allen.
Darrin leaves to cherish his memories his son, Trevon Allen of Topeka, Ks. Sisters Taylor Jones, Sierra Jones, LeeAdriane Jones all of Wichita , Ks. His mother, Mary Allen, Aunts Delora (Tyrone) Childers, Yolanda Spann, Debbie Childers and Valarie Black all of Wichita, Ks, Uncle Allan Spann of Wichita, Ks. and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends that he loved very much.

Obituary Preview: Mrs.Elmira Jenette Warren,of Wichita, Ks, passed away at the age of 90 in the comfort of her daughters home, on Friday, October 9th, 2020..
Elmira Jenette was born August 08,1930 to Albert Loggins and Dolly (Dismuke) Loggins in Wesson,Arkansas. She was the 7th Child of 9 children. Jenette attended Eldorado, Arkansas schools. Jenette later moved to St Louis, Missouri to attend college.
"Jenette" met and married Rev. Leroy Warren, and to this union 5 children were born. After numerous ministerial assignments in Missouri and Southeast Kansas, which included Parson and Chanute, they settled in Wichita, Kansas in June 1961. They united with St. Paul AME church where she remained a member for 59 years.
Jenette loved reading the Bible, (Psalm 37) was her favorite, playing the piano and was known as 'Hat Lady' because of all of her beautiful church hats. She was featured in the book "Crowns" about Black Women and their church hats. She loved and lived the gospel song, "If I Can Help Somebody' She never missed an opportunity to help her family, friend and others. Jenette loved to cook and was known for her delicious Sunday dinners, often cooked from scratch. Jenette retired from
St. Francis Hospital (now Via Christi) after 32 years. While there she was proud to receive several yearly awards for perfect attendance.
Jenette is preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Leroy Warren (husband), Darlene Brown, her daughter, Rev. George Embers (Son in Law), Gerren and Gerrod ( grandsons), and 8 siblings.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories, son, Leroy (Loire) Warren,(Denver, Co) Jewelene Embers of Wichita, Ks, Parlene Warren (Wichita, Ks) Emmalyn J. (William) Ray, (Atlanta, Ga) 6 Grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren.
Visitation 2-6 pm Thursday, October 15, 2020. A 12 noon service will be held Friday October 16, 2020, at Chapel following graveside/interment at Maple Grove Cemetery

Obituary Preview: Taft, Annette (Ann) Morine (68) passed away peacefully on September 5th, 2020 in her home. Ann was born in Wichita, Kansas, on June 7, 1952. She graduated from North High School in 1970 with a passion for writing. She lived her early years as the "fun" aunt to her many nieces and nephews, all while working in the restaurant industry, most notably Kentucky Fried Chicken. Eventually, she decided to pursue a career in nursing and obtained her LPN followed by her RN. While working in rehab at St. Joseph, she met Chuck. Their love formed a marriage and then their first daughter Charlene. They welcomed their daughter Christa a year later. Ann became Troop 52's Girl Scout leader in 1995 while also volunteering at her daughters' school and continuing to touch many lives in a variety of nursing roles she pursued. Ann loved to travel, especially to warm climates and areas where she could expand her interest in Native American culture and art. She retired from her nursing career in 2010, but found many ways to fill her days including attending Al-Anon and Ostomy Support Group, studying God's word and forming a relationship with him, and investing her love in many great friends. Her grandchildren brought her renewed hope and strength and she loved watching her daughters become mothers. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Lois Stuever and her brother Henry. She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Chuck; daughters Charlene Krenzel (Jason), and Christa Taft; step-daughter Dasha Nichols (Dale); sisters Kathy Seago, Linda Shepherd (Ron), and Christine; brothers Leo Stuever, and Alan Stuever (Jacquie); grandsons Elijah, Noah, Gordon, Marquel, Jayden, Isaiah; granddaughters Delilah, Serenity; and many nieces, nephews, and friends she considered family.
The family asks instead of flowers, donations be directed to Victory in the Valley or your local Al-Anon chapter (Ann attended theWednesday 12:00PMmeeting at Central and Ridge). Obituary Preview: Life Story– Leotis Blevens June 30, 1942- August 6, 2020 (Age: 78) On August 6, 2020, the Lord called Mr. Leotis Blevens (aka Lee), of Wichita, KS, from “Earth to Glory” at the age of 78. Lee was born June 30, 1942, in Sparkman, AR, to Polar Blevens and Lenora Hunter. Lee also had two older sisters, Albertine Jennings and Beulah Mae Morris. A basketball player at Sparkman Training School, Lee was part of the 1960 state basketball championship team. Shortly after graduation, he joined the Navy where he spent time in Japan and met and married Nariko Kawafuchi on May 25, 1973. Lee and Nariko welcomed two children, Polar II in 1973 and Mako in 1981. After 16 years in the Navy, Lee and his family moved to Wichita, KS, where they settled down. Lee worked for Beechcraft/Raytheon as a security guard and eventually retired from the company after 30+ years. Over the years, Lee had a passion for playing Bingo and cheering on the Dodgers, Lakers, and the Rams. Locally, he supported Wichita State basketball and baseball, along with Kansas State football and basketball (his daughter’s alma mater). Lee also enjoyed watching old westerns and TV shows from the 1960s and 1970s. He was happy staying in the comfort of his home, drinking diet Pepsi, and playing with his granddaughter when she visited. Lee is survived by his wife of 47 years, Nariko Blevens; his two children, Polar Blevens II and Mako Miller, along with her husband Walter Gary Miller III; his two sisters Albertine Jennings and Beulah Mae Morris; his four grandchildren Devin Daniels, Natalie Blevens, Sydnie Blevens, and Rylie Miller; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is preceded in death by his siblings Eugene Blevens, Annie Marie Blevens, and Percy Lee Shugart; his father Polar Blevens; and his mother Lenora Blevens. A memorial service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on August 15, 2020, at Bethea Funerals and Cremations, 615 West Maple Street, Wichita, KS 67213. Due to COVID-19 social distancing restrictions, the service will be limited to immediate family only. A public viewing is scheduled from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. where family and friends are welcome to come through to pay their respects.
