Genevieve Salley (Maxwell) Bailey - Unknown - February 13, 2022

Departed: 02/13/2022 (Ewing Township)
Obituary Preview: Genevieve Salley (Maxwell) Bailey departed this life on February 13, 2022. She was born in Trenton, NJ on February 9, 1942. She was the daughter of the late Mildred V. Wilson Salley and James Grant Salley Sr. sister to the late James (Sonny) Grant Salley Jr. Genevieve was educated in Trenton Public School system. She attended West Virginia State College and Mercer County Community College. She married the late James C. Maxwell Sr. and from that union one child was born, James C. Maxwell Jr. Genevieve worked for the State of New Jersey, Division of Motor Vehicles for 31 ½ years, where she took an early retirement in 1993.
Genevieve found the man of her dreams Donald H. Bailey and in 1995 she and Don Married. Gen and Don were inseparable companions, friends, and help-mates. Traveling was their favorite pastime. Genevieve lost her beloved Donald suddenly on November 4, 2008. Genevieve filled her life with service to her family and church. She was a member of St. Matthew United Methodist Church for many years, where she served on the Trustee Ministry, The Usher Board, and The Pastor Parish Staff Ministry. In 2009 Genevieve joined the First Baptist Church of Langhorne where the sweet spirit of Jesus Christ lives. During her time at First Baptist “Sister Bailey or Gen”, as she was lovingly known in the church, revived and reorganized the Usher Ministry both professionally and relationally.  She was a true contributor to her church community.  Genevieve also took great pleasure in raising her German Shepherd dogs – Jet then Buster. In May 2009 she added two additional shepherds, Molly & Polly. Molly and Polly were well behaved girls. In 2020, she adopted another shepherd, Dolly. At one point Genevieve had 3 of her shepherds at once. You could always see her walking her big shepherds throughout the community.
One of her greatest joys was spending time with all the grandchildren. She would often remind them what Pop-pop had taught them about life. Gen had a heart of gold and would help anyone if she could.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories; her son, James C. Maxwell Jr.; four step-children, Vianne Cox (Ray), Dr. Cheryl R. Bailey (Warren C. Pyles III), Kevin D. Bailey (Gail), Kim Dallas (Kight); Eight grandchildren, Amanda M. Sierra (Kenneth), Jenna N. Maxwell, Warren Pyles IV, Brandon Reid, Monica J. Pyles, Kevin D. Bailey, Jr. , Donte Dallas, Jasmine Dallas; One great-grandchild, Nora Elizabeth Sierra and a host of relatives and friends she loved dearly.

Barbara Stein - Unknown - January 23, 2022

Departed: 01/23/2022 (Ewing Township)
Obituary Preview: Barbara Stein (nee Gould), of Langhorne, passed away unexpectedly on January 23, 2022 at St. Mary Hospital.  She was 65.
Born in Trenton, NJ, Barbara was a resident of Langhorne for the last four decades.  Before retiring in June of 2020, she worked for many years as in inside sales representative with a technology company. Some of her happiest days were spent at the shore or traveling to new parts of the world with her closest friends.
She was loved by many, but by no one more deeply and steadfast as her husband Marc. They fell in love as teenagers, and spent the next 50 years together. This June, they would have celebrated 46 years together. Her memory is cherished by her daughter Lauren Green and husband Mark, and her son Jason Stein and his wife Jamie. Her grandchildren Natalie, Jacob, and Mia brought her immense joy and so much laughter. Spoiling them was a regular occurrence.
Barbara loved spending time on girls’ trips with her cousin Robin, her Aunt Sharon, and her best friends Jane, Ann, Terry, and Sue. She spent many days reading countless books with her book club, playing Mahjong with friends, and shopping for her grandchildren. Those who loved her will remember her warm heart and generous spirit, her smile that reached all the way to her eyes, and her love of all things chocolate.
Her loss is greatly felt by her sister Michele (Steve), and her brothers Michael (Amy) and David. She will be missed by her many nieces, nephews, friends, and her beloved god children. She is preceded in death by her parents, Sheldon and Rochelle Gould, her parents’-in-law, Honey and Harry Stein, and her favorite uncle Tommy. She will also be missed by her cat, Ariel.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Barbara’s life on Friday, January 28, 2022 at 10 am at Burns Funeral Home on 1514 Woodbourne Rd in Levittown, with a service to commence at 11:30 am. Burial will follow immediately at the Knights of Pythias Cemetery in Hamilton, NJ. Shiva will be held on Saturday and Sunday at the family’s home.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an obituary?

An obituary is a written notice that announces the death of a person, typically including their name, age, date of birth and death, and a brief biography. It may also include information about their surviving family members, funeral arrangements, and any notable achievements or accomplishments.

Why are obituaries important?

Obituaries serve as a way to inform friends, family, and community members of a person's passing, allowing them to pay their respects and offer condolences. They also provide a sense of closure and can be a therapeutic way for loved ones to celebrate the life of the deceased.

Who typically writes an obituary?

The responsibility of writing an obituary usually falls on the family members or close friends of the deceased. In some cases, a funeral home or mortuary may assist with writing the obituary, especially if they are handling the funeral arrangements.

What information should be included in an obituary?

A typical obituary includes the person's full name, age, date of birth and death, place of residence, occupation, hobbies, achievements, and surviving family members. It may also include information about funeral services, memorial donations, and other relevant details.

How long should an obituary be?

The length of an obituary can vary depending on the publication or online platform it will be published in. Generally, it should be concise and to the point, ranging from a few sentences to a few paragraphs at most.

Can I include photos in an obituary?

Yes, many publications and online platforms allow you to include one or more photos with the obituary. This can be a nice way to personalize the notice and help people remember the deceased.

How do I submit an obituary to a newspaper or online platform?
