She was born August 17, 1941 in Foreman, the daughter of I.W. Tod and Helen (Kincannon) Harper. She married Darrell E. Lauderdale on March 9, 1963 in Vienna. He preceded her in death on June 19, 2002.
Velma is survived by her daughter, Beth (Van) Morgan of Goreville; granddaughter, Nicole Hudson; great-grandchildren, Ryder and Phinleigh; siblings, John (Liz) Harper of Florence, MS, Jack (Jackie) Harper of Mayfield, KY, Mary (Richard) Stroh of Anna; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband; and son, Timothy P. Lauderdale.
Velma and Darrell had a very special relationship. They got along so well and despite spending a lot of time together, they were never seen arguing or disagreeing with one another. Darrell started an insurance agency and Velma helped him with the business, as well as taking care of her family. Velma loved playing golf.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at the Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Jason Forby officiating. Interment will be in the Anna cemetery. Friends may call from 12:00 p.m. until the service hour at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.

She was preceded in death by her parents and nephew, Bobby Smith. Pamela enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Her children and grandchildren were her world. She was very loving and caring and she always thought of others before herself. She was always happy and joyful. Her favorite vacation spot was Tennessee in the Smokey Mountains. He was born December 5, 1953 in Los Cruces, New Mexico, the son of Lee Roy and Frances (Wilson) Marshall. He married M. Irene Woods in Phoenix, Arizona. She preceded him in death on May 23, 2017. Roy is survived by his son, Terry (Shelley) Marshall of Buncombe; daughter, Rebecca (Roger) Seyer of Scott City, Missouri; seven grandchildren; siblings, Dorothy (Sonny) Deatherage of Phoenix, Arizona, Kim Kimbell of Phoenix, Arizona, Nathan (Roberta) Marshall of Marion; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, M. Irene Marshall. Roy was retired from L & P Carpet after 37 years of laying commercial flooring all over the tristate area. Roy took great pride in his workmanship. He loved carpentry and mechanics, especially when it came to problem solving and fabrication. There will be no services held at this time.

She is survived by her son and daughter in law, Mike and Karen Smoot of Anna; her grandson, Evan Smoot; a sister, Alice (Donald) Bird of Elgin; three brothers, Ernest (Marilyn) Russell of Jonesboro, John (Helen) Russell of Vergennes and Rick (Nancy) Russell of Anna; nieces and nephews, Greg Bird, Denise Bird-Sharpe, Tina Wiersema, Elizabeth Bowen and Kim Burger as well as a special niece, Maria Boerngen; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and a nephew, Kevin Bird. Shirley retired from Choate Mental Health and Development Center where she worked as a seamstress. She was a member of Anna Heights Baptist Church. She will be remembered for her love of playing the piano, sewing, quilting, gardening and her pride and joy, her grandson Evan. He preceded her in death on February 16, 2017. Barbara is survived by her two sons, DuWayne (Vicki) Glasco of Cobden, and Tim (Glenda) Glasco of Anna; grandsons, Greg Glasco of Cobden, Mark (Amy) Glasco of Cobden; granddaughters, Amanda Glasco of Jonesboro and Andrea Glasco, of Cobden, Tracy Glasco of Cobden, Lauren (Eric) Myers of Cobden; numerous great-grandchildren; sister Karen (Jim) Barnhart; nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by both of her parents and her brother, Willie Clemons. Barbara was an active member of the United Missionary Baptist Church for many years. She was a much loved wife, "mom" and grandma to her entire family. Every person she met has a story to tell about how she touched their life. When she wasn't watching her "kids" or "grandkids" rodeo or play sports, you could find her at her kitchen table on the hill of her beautiful Southern Illinois farm with her loyal dog, Hash. She was retired from the State of Illinois Department of Human Services where she worked for almost thirty years. She loved to spend time with her friends going shopping and out to eat. Cathy was a caregiver at heart, seeing to the needs of her family and always there to help anyone in their time of need. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents. Lillie was a charter member of the United Missionary Baptist Church in Lick Creek. He is survived by his oldest daughter, Rhonda Ralls Boyd and his middle daughter, Lisa (Mike) O'Neal. He is survived by 5 grandchildren, Marc (Amy) Sheffer, Nikki (Jason) Landers, Terra (Kip) Lyerla, Lindsey (Mitchell) Kennard, and Brett (Amanda) Huckstep; great grandchildren, Aaron Sheffer, Brooke Sheffer, Shea Landers, Reid Landers, Gracey Lyerla, Lauren Lyerla, Mason Lyerla, Easton Lyerla, Jace Huckstep, Jack Huckstep, Kohlton Deitrich, Ava Huckstep, and Katie Huckstep. He is survived by his siblings, Carol Ralls, Suetta Burris, Richard Ralls, Harold Ralls, James Ralls, Elizabeth Ramage, Charles Ralls, Melvin Ralls, Joe Ralls, Mike Ralls, Barbara Sullivan, and Linda Eudy. Most people knew Herman by his nickname Tuffy. He was a hard worker from a young age. As a child he worked in their garden and milked the cows. As a young man he worked pumping gas, he worked at the ice plant in Anna, he worked at the Anna Quarry, he worked at the Anna Fire Department, and then began his final career as an ironworker from which he retired. He had a tremendous work ethic and was an honest man. He enjoyed sports. In his younger years he was a pitcher on a fast pitch softball team. He was an avid fisherman. He and Shirley spent many days and nights fishing. He also liked to hunt rabbits and squirrels. He enjoyed playing cards. Many would have seen him watching his grandkids and great grandkids playing sports. He was one of their biggest fans! A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, March 13, 2022 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. at The Blue Boar Hall, 820 Kratzinger Hollow Rd. Cobden, IL 62920.

Susanna is survived by her son, Russ (Mary Jo) Hartline of Alto Pass; three daughters, Rhonda (John) McGuire of Valparazo, IN, Roxanne (Delbert) Smallwood of Wheeler, IN and Rosiland Sedlacek of Murphysboro; ten grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Hartline; parents; granddaughter, Baby Smallwood; and brother, Fred Armenth. Susanna received her Bachelor and Master Degree from Indiana University. She went on to teach music in the Portage School system in Portage, IN for many years. She later worked for Tri-County Special Education for three years and substituted for all Union and Alexander County schools until her retirement in 2005. She attended St. Mary's Catholic Church in Anna. She was a life member of the Carroll P. Foster Post 3455 VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She was the past district president for Illinois District 15 and was past president for the Anna Auxiliary. Interment will be held privately at the St. John's Cemetery in Dongola.
