Obituary Preview: Sharon Sue Malin, 77, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, on Sunday, October 10, 2021 at 6:30 pm, at St. Rita’s Medical Center. She was born on January 8, 1944 in Lima, to Robert and Esther (Miller) Lyle, both of whom preceded her in death.
Sharon was a homemaker, and what a home she made for her kids! All the other kids who showed up we treated like family, both two, and four-legged. She was a true animal lover, and instilled that love into her children as well. She was active in Humane Society Bingo, and nobody was ever turned away from Sharon’s home, human or pet. She was also a longtime member of the SPCA.
Sharon is survived by her family, daughters: Kelly Ribley, and Keely Cornwell; sons: Kerry Malin MD, and Jim Morrison. She had 6 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren, with one new great-grandchild on the way. She adored her family, and life was good for her.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Hanneman-Siferd Funeral Home, 506 N. Cable Rd. Lima Ohio 45805, on Saturday, October 16, 2021 from 10AM to 12 noon. Come and visit and reminisce about Sharon with her family. Burial of cremated remains will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery at a later date. Hanneman-Siferd Funeral Home is honored to be taking care of the Malin Family. Memorial Contributions may be made to the SPCA in Sharon’s name.

Robert was a Local 50 Steamfitter and spent the last few years planning and estimating for Advanced Project Controls at BP. In his free time, he loved doing jujitsu, fishing, and being outdoors. Obituary Preview: Sandra Hayden, 83, of Bowling Green, Ohio passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2019. She was born on June 23, 1936 to the late Harry and Elizabeth (Lewis) Haag in Columbus, Ohio. Sandra married Charles Hayden on June 15, 1958 and they were married for 56 years until he passed away on December 5, 2014.
Sandra is survived by her sons: Allen (Barb) Hayden of Bowling Green, Ohio; and Myron (Hyeseong) Hayden of Chicago, Illinois; grandchildren: Stephen, Kelly, Gavin, and Hahna; sister-in-law Pat Haag; nieces and nephew: Michelle, Kristen & Michael. Sandra was preceded in death by her husband Charles Hayden; and brother Myron Haag.
Sandra was very proud to earn her bachelor’s degree in education from The Ohio State University in 1958. She went on to teach home economics at various schools in Central Ohio. After her children were born, they settled in Bowling Green and Sandra started involving herself in a number of organizations. She was the Den Mother for her sons Cub Scout pack, and volunteered at South Main Elementary. She was a member of the Black Swamp Spinners Guild. Sandra became a master gardener, gave much of her time and talent to the Wood County Parks, and was a founding member of the Wood County Herb Society. She volunteered at the Wood County Library and started the children’s garden that is still there today. Above all, she loved being around and spending as much time as she could with her family who will miss her dearly.
Memorial Contributions in Sandra’s honor may be gifted to the Wood County Library or Wood County Parks.
A Memorial Gathering for Sandra will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2019 from 12:30 pm – 3:30 pm in the Wintergarden Nature Center 615 S. Wintergarden Road, Bowling Green, Ohio 43402.

Mandy was preceded in death by her mother Janice Hassen; grandparents: Gene & Delores Barnett; Leo & Mary Hassen; and uncle Jerry Hassen.
Mandy graduated from Bowling Green High School and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in journalism from Bowling Green State University. She was a substitute teacher for Toledo Public Schools and volunteered at the Wood County Humane Society. Mandy enjoyed traveling, loved animals, and was a great parent to a number of cats over the years.

Obituary Preview: Nabieh Mikhail, 77, of Bowling Green, Ohio, passed away on Monday, July 8, 2019. Nabieh was born on May 2, 1942 to Khalada and Liza Mikhail in Cairo, Egypt. He married Nargis Youseff on January 20, 1972.
Nabieh attended university in Cairo where he earned a master’s degree in engineering and went on to teach mathematics at the university level. He served in the Egyptian Army, where he obtained the rank of Major. After serving in the military, he immigrated to the United States with his wife and family. He went to work for Doehler-Jarvis and eventually retired as a tool and die maker.
Nabieh didn’t know any strangers; only friends that he hadn’t met yet. He will be remembered as a caring and compassionate man, having volunteered with the local food bank, as well as other charities and causes. He proudly volunteered with the Wood County Board of Elections as a poll attendant. He was devoted to his family, often going to great lengths to help, guide and nurture. Nabieh was a devout Christian and founding member of St. George Coptic Orthodox Church in Monclova, Ohio.
Nabieh will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Nargis; his daughter Rania (Jack) Haynes; his son Aschraf (Kate) Mikhail; his grandchildren: Ava, Lexi, Joel, Max, and Kristoff (Brittany); as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and close family and friends from around the world. He will be reunited in heaven with his parents, brothers and sisters.
Visitation for Nabieh will be held on Sunday, July 14, 2019 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM in the Deck-Hanneman Funeral Home & Crematory, 1460 W. Wooster Street / P.O. She married the love of her life Andrew Michelsen on November 4, 1950 and he survives. Also surviving are her daughters: Becky Moore of Sylvania Township; Victoria Blaesing of Columbus; Cindy Miller of Maumee, Ohio; Heidi (Lane) Hakel of Bowling Green, Ohio; grandchildren: Danya, Jason, Justin, Jenna, Christopher, Logan, Matthew, Timothy, Robert, Mattison and Grace; great-grandchildren: Elijah, Kalvin, Tatiana, Claire, Henry and Quentin. She was preceded in death by her son Steven who passed away on June 11, 2019 and her siblings: Clarence, Adolph, Louise, Olga and Rudolph
Gloria was a graduate of Perrysburg High School and with her husband Andrew owned and operated Stadium Laundry. She later worked at the Wood County Nursing Home now Wood Haven Health Care. She was member of St. Marks Lutheran Church in Bowling Green. Gloria enjoyed traveling around the country with Andrew and playing a good game of cards. The most important part of Gloria life was her family, she enjoyed the time she spent with them. Especially her grandchildren who were her pride and joy.

Cory Johnson - May 11, 1969 - July 04, 2019

Obituary Preview: Cory Johnson passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2019 surrounded by his family. He was a loving husband, son, brother, father, grandfather, and friend. He was born on May 11, 1969 to Melvin R. Johnson and Janis K. (Smith) Johnson. He married Amy Hertzfeld on June 16, 1995 in St. Patrick Catholic Church in Grand Rapids and she survives him in Bowling Green.
Cory was a 1988 graduate of Otsego High School and went on to earn an associate degree in law enforcement from Owens Community College. While at Otsego he excelled at sports, especially basketball. Cory is one the few players to score 1000 points for the varsity team. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and played in numerous softball tournaments over the years. He worked for the Bowling Green Public Works Division for 29 years. Cory did not know a stranger, he loved people, and made friends so easily. He loved coaching and watching his sons in the sports they played. Cory was a member of the Sons of the Legion in Tontogany and The Fraternal Order of Eagles #2180 Bowling Green.
Along with his wife Amy and mother Janis, Cory is survived by his sons: Drake (Justina) Johnson of Weston; Dane (Michenzi) Johnson of Bowling Green; granddaughters; Ava and Aliyah; brother Chad; and nieces and nephews; Brandon, Logann, Morgan, Nathan, Faith, Phoenix, Destiny, Adelyn, and William. Cory is preceded in death by his father Melvin and brother-in-law William “Billy” Hertzfeld, Jr.

She married Glenn Davis on July 2, 1960 in Bryan, Ohio and they were married for 55 years before he preceded her in death on January 12, 2016.
Leah is survived by her daughter: Vicki Davis of Liberty Center; sons: Glenn (Denise) Davis II of Holgate; Scott (Lavonne) Davis of Archbold; Jason (Amy) Davis of Toledo; 10 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and daughter-in-law Pam Bartrum of Huntington, Indiana.
Leah was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son: Jon Davis; daughter: Ginny Davis; brother: Clyde Higginbotham; sisters: Juanita Deck and Mary Lou Smith.
Leah was a nursing assistant for Genacross Lutheran Services and enjoyed reading. She was a member of Victory Chapel Church and was the former president of the Women’s Missionary Association. Leah loved to play and spend time with her grandchildren. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who will be greatly missed.

(Curry) Knauss, Sr. Phyllis married her high school sweetheart, the late Don W. Wohler on December 9, 1955 and he preceded her in death on May 24, 2002. Phyllis was born and raised in Bowling Green and grew up on the family farm. She enjoyed camping and spending time at the family cottage in Bright Lake, Ontario, Canada. She enjoyed traveling, especially to Florida with her family and close friends, the late Pat & Ken Wires. Her hobbies included swimming, playing Bunco, cooking and baking. Phyllis was a bus driver for Wood Lane for many years. She was a member of the Weston Church of Christ.
Phyllis will be dearly missed by her daughter: Pam (Randy) Allen, of Bowling Green; her sons: Don Wohler, Jr. of Bowling Green and Wendell (Stephanee) of Weston; her sister Linda (Jerry) Crawford of Ohio; her granddaughters: Brittany (Cody) Panning of Bowling Green and Courtney Allen of Bowling Green; her grandson Dawson Wohler of Weston; her great grandson Dale Oliver Panning of Bowling Green and her sisters-in-law Connie Knauss and Pat Knauss; and a host of loving nieces and nephews. She will be reunited in heaven with her parents, her husband, her son and daughter-in-law: Robert and Karen Wohler; brothers: Frank M. Knauss, Jr. and John Knauss.

Obituary Preview: Georgia Helen Curtis went home to be with the Lord on June 2, 2019. A life-long resident of Grand Rapids, Ohio, Georgia was the daughter of Gust and Rose (Ozancin) Tampurages. She was born March 12, 1925 in Bingham, Utah. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Arthur Barnhiser and Alvin Curtis; brothers William and James Tampurages; sisters Thelma Sophie Rodney and Mary Ann Lindsey; son Dale Barnhiser and daughter-in-law Debra Barnhiser.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory, her daughter Judy (Rick) Barnhiser Douglas-Gillings; her sons Larry (Nancy) Barnhiser, Thomas Barnhiser, and Robert (Sandra) Barnhiser; her grandchildren and great grandchildren and other family members.
Georgia was a long-standing member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and its former Altar Rosary Society, Grand Rapids, Ohio and the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 232. She was a proud member of her graduating class of 1943 from Washington Township (Tontogany) High School and remained in close contact with her class members throughout her life, enjoying in later years their class reunions. She formerly worked at Mercy Hospital in Toledo, Ohio, Browning Masonic Community in Waterville, Ohio, and volunteered for many years as a poll worker for the Ohio Election Board, Providence Township.
Visitation for Georgia will be held on Friday, June 7, 2019 from 9:00 AM until the time of her Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in St. Patrick Catholic Church, 14010 South River Road, Grand Rapids, Ohio 43522. Interment will be private.

James is survived by his wife of 47 years: Carol; son Chris (Andi) Zacharias; step-daughter Trudy Ramsey; grandchildren: Allyson, Olivia, and Jeffery. James was preceded in death by his stepson Jeffery Burkhard.
James was a Sheetmetal journeyman for 25 years at the Chrysler Machining Plant in Perrysburg. He was a member of the Liberty Center United Methodist Church. He loved to travel, as well as going golfing. James loved cars and help to run the car show for many years during Liberty Days. Along with his wife, they were charter members of the Greater Toledo PT Cruiser Club. James loved watching his grandkids and his family was the most important part of his life and he will be greatly missed by all.

Dean is also survived by his children: Ryan Hall (Heather) of Tecumseh, MI; Bradley Hall (Joy) of Toledo; Sydney Hall of Toledo; Shay Hall of Bowling Green; Grant Richards of Bowling Green; & Mercedes Hall of Bowling Green; a brother: Keith Sutton; a sister: Dawn McDonald (Paul); and a grandson Oscar. Along with his father, Dean is preceded in death by a brother: Willie Hall Jr.; and grandparents: Henry (Katie) Thomas; Robert (Inez) Lightfoot; and numerous cousins, aunts, uncles and in-laws.
Dean graduated from Swanton High School and was a star athlete. He excelled at football and track & field. His senior year he was the state champion in discus and still holds the school record at Swanton. He went on to play football (offensive line) for Bowling Green State University. At BGSU he earned his bachelor’s degree in communications and master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling. He worked as a counselor at Juvenile Residential Center and was a member of Sonlight Church. Dean love music especially funk and reggae, was a fan of the Detroit Lions and the BGSU Men’s Basketball team, and had a small obsession with finding Bigfoot. He will be dearly missed.

Jenny was a life-long resident of Bowling Green and worked for Cooper-Standard Automotive for 24 years. She served as the President of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post 1148 in Bowling Green. She was also very active with AMVETS, serving both as a local and district officer.
Jenny loved fishing, especially with her family. She also enjoying crocheting and crafting. Jenny loved to bake. There was always a table full of cookies, fresh from her oven, on holidays and family events. Her baking talents also included cake decorating, a gift that she joyfully shared with her family on birthdays and special occasions.
Jenny will be dearly missed by her husband and soulmate George “Rusty” Helberg; their kids Kristin Helberg, Justin Helberg, Matthew Helberg and Seth Helberg; her grand-daughters Kaitlyn and Ayla, all of Bowling Green; her sisters Brenda Vestal and Jan West of Bowling Green, and her brothers; Dion West and Kevin West of Weston.
Visitation for Jenny will be on held Monday, June 3, 2019 from 4:00 - 7:00 PM in the Deck-Hanneman Funeral Home & Crematory, 1460 W. Wooster Street, Bowling Green, Ohio 43402. On February 21, 1959, Sharon married her husband of 60 years, Jimmy A. Light, M.D. (Col. In the U.S. Army, Chief of Transplant Services for the Army and Navy, and Chief of Transplant Surgery at Washington Hospital Center).
Sharon attended Bowling Green State University and Henry Ford College School of Nursing and worked for a short time at the Bowling Green Sentinel-Tribune, before becoming a full-time mother in 1961. She returned to school to complete her Bachelor of Arts in Ancient History from University of Maryland in 1976, where she was President of the Mortar Board Society.
Sharon earned her real estate license in 1978 and worked with many realty organizations, most recently Long & Foster Real Estate. She developed a nationwide personal referral network and specialized in serving young professionals relocating to the Washington, DC area, receiving multiple awards throughout her career.
Sharon was active throughout her life with many political, charitable, and community service organizations, including the Women’s Consciousness Raising Society, the National Kidney Foundation, and co-founding and serving as treasurer for Chevy Chase at Home. A lifetime lover of fabric arts, Sharon was part of several knitting and sewing groups in the Greater Washington area.
Sharon is survived by her loving husband Jimmy; her seven brothers and sisters: Carole Newman, Lawrence Newman (Elsie), Andrea Hahn (Robert), Pamela Janka (Dennis), Bridget Myles (Chip), Patrice Cavanaugh, and William Newman (Lucy); her three children: Amy Light, D.M.D., Libby Light, and Timothy Light, M.D. (Kelly Ann); and her eight grandchildren: Michael Oosterhout, Gregory Oosterhout, Olivia Oosterhout, Ian Grimes, Willa Grimes, Julia Grimes, Rosella Light, and Alexander Light. Sharon is survived by her sons: Brad (Rachel) Eckhart and Brett Eckhart of Bowling Green, his daughter and her beloved Granddaughter Jocelyn Eckhart; Brother Robert (Jean) Gillespie; Aunt Martha Foster; Nephew Adam (Andrea) Gillespie, their sons, Kade and Silas; Niece Michelle Gillespie, her children Keegan and Grace; Cousins Janis Long, Tommy Long, Marilyn Long Smith, Sandie Sanford, Luke Sanford, Haley Sanford, Susan Engle and Sallie Briggs; Along with her parents Sharon was preceded in death by Son Robert W. Eckhart; Daughter Lyndel Avery; Nephews: Richard Alex & Robert John Gillespie as well as many other cherished friends and family.
Sharon was a 1982 graduate of Bowling Green State University. Having been a teacher for many years, she went back to school earning her Bachelors of Science in Education degree. She worked for Petti's Alpine Village restaurant, the Elks Lodge and GTE as a switchboard operator in Bowling Green. In 1984 she decided to change careers, working as an apartment manager and leasing agent, finishing her 28 year career at Winthrop Terrace Apartments, retiring in 2012. Sharon was a member of the BG Apartment Association, the BGSU Alumni Association, the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed dancing and was a part of Liturgical Dance at Trinity United Methodist as well as Tap Dancing at Julies Dance Studio. Above all she was known for her quick wit, sense of humor, and historic knowledge of all things (and people) in Bowling Green. She loved BG and she maintained friendships of all personalities. Known to always help (or shelter) those in need, she always had a fresh pot of coffee, a listening ear, or an amazing story for all who visited her. She was a Mom to many, she will be dearly missed by all whose lives she touched, including her “Grandmoofs” Fenway Baahk and Tessie.
The family would like to thank St. Clare Commons and Bridge Hospice for their exceptional care.

Sandra is survived by her two loving children: Toby Garno of Bowling Green and Dana (Kat) Garno of McClure; sister Linda Domer; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law Linda Kinder, Flo Knauss, Nada Knauss, Sharon Garno and Marilyn Tomasi, and a host of loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son Todd Garno and three brothers Gerald, Larry and Jerry Knauss.
Sandra worked for Marathon Special Products, retiring after 45 years of service. She was an avid collector of Coca-Cola memorabilia and enjoyed singing karaoke. Sandra was a member of the St. Aloysius Catholic Church. The most important part of Sandra’s life was her family. She cherished every moment she spent with them. Sandra’s family would like to thank her daughter Toby and grandson Steven for the loving care that they provided during Sandra’s illness.
