Age 91 Of Carbon Hill, Illinois, died unexpectedly on Friday, January 7, 2022 at her home.
Born December 19, 1930 in Streator, Illinois, Phyllis Virginia was a daughter of Edwin and Esther (Johnson) Richard. She was raised in Wenona, Illinois and graduated from Wenona High School with the Class of 1949. On September 27, 1953, Phyllis married Earl Richardson in the Bethany Lutheran Church in Wenona and together they lived in Streator and Cornell, before settling in Carbon Hill (1972). Phyllis was a former member of the Morris Moose Lodge, where she was active with the Women of the Moose, and worked in the Social Quarters for many years. In recent years, Phyllis found enjoyment in working jigsaw puzzles.
Survivors include her two daughters: Deborah Richardson of Carbon Hill and Cheryl (Jack) Hebner of Las Vegas, Nevada; two brothers, Allan Richard and Dale Richard, and many nieces and nephews, as well as cousins and friends.
Phyllis was preceded in death by both her parents, and her husband Earl (2004).
Per Phyllis’ wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.
The family will receive friends for a memorial visitation at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block north of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City on Friday, January 14, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. until the time of memorial service, 2:00 p.m.

Age 74 of Coal City passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, after a valiant medical battle.
Born June 30, 1947 in Joliet, Richard Lee was a son of Arnold Vanderhoff and Norine Gollick. He was raised in Shorewood by his mother and stepfather, Andy Gollick, and graduated from Joliet West High School. On November 20, 1979 Richard married Barbara Jean Boresi in Joliet, and would move to Coal City where they would raise their family.
He was a crane operator, working for Mobil Chemical Company for nine years and then Citgo Refinery for the next 30 years, until he retired. Richard was a member of the Coal City Area Club where he loved to spend his time fishing and enjoying wildlife and nature. He liked playing chess and the guitar, and was an avid reader of non fiction novels and biographies, especially on Abraham Lincoln.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Barb Vanderhoff of Coal City; two sons: Aaron Vanderhoff and Jeff Vanderhoff, both of Coal City; two grandchildren: Felicia Vanderhoff of Peoria and Ashton Brainard of Coal City; one brother and two sisters: Linda (John) Fullington of Arizona, Kim (Dan) Anderson of Shorewood, and Ed (Nancy) Vanderhoof of Joliet; five nieces and nephews: Carrie, Weston, Kyle, Kris, and Russell; and his beloved dog, Bailey.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents: Norine (Andrew) Gollick and Arnold Vanderhoff.

Age 79 of Wilmington, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at home surrounded by family.
Born September 29, 1942 in Wilmington, Illinois, George C.  was the son of George Golden and Avia Ellen (nee Mansfield) Howard.  He was raised in Wilmington and attended Wilmington schools.  On March 20, 1961, George married Donna Jean Martin in Joliet, Illinois.
He worked briefly as a part-time officer with the Braceville Police Department, was a union steward at Diamond International paper mill in Wilmington, and retired from the Exxon Mobil Joliet refinery in 2002, after over 20 years of service as a machinist and troubleshooter.
George was an avid outdoorsman with skills including trapping, hunting, fishing and gardening.  He was at one time a Boy Scout leader and was involved in the Mountain Man reenactments in the early Catfish Days celebrations.  George was a stock car racer and pit crew member, and was a regular bowling league member at Wilmington Lanes.  George belonged to the South Wilmington Sportsman Club, was a lifetime NRA member, and was a member of the Illinois State Rifle Association.  In addition, he was a past member of the Wilmington Moose Lodge.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Donna Howard of Wilmington; four children: George (Karen) Howard of Attica, Indiana, Charles (Judy) Howard of Wilmington, Illinois, Daniel (Dawn) Howard of Lockport, Illinois and Martin (Kelly) Howard of Diamond, Illinois; four grandchildren: Kristin (Conor) Casey of Aurora, Illinois, Ashley (Austin) Kelly of Woodridge, Illinois, Joshua Howard of Wilmington, Illinois and George J. Howard of Naperville, Illinois;  one great-grandchild: Fletcher Casey of Aurora, Illinois; three sisters: Ethel Neese and Nancy Calhoun both of Wilmington, Illinois and Mary Schmidberger of Dwight, Illinois; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
George was preceded in death by his parents: George and Avia Howard; and siblings: Ann Surtasky, Wesley Howard, Donald Howard, Martha Scholey and Larry Howard.
The family will receive friends for a graveside service on Monday, January 10, 2022 at Oakwood Cemetery, Essex Road in Braidwood, Illinois at 11:00 A.M.

Age 88 of Braidwood, Illinois, died Monday, January 3, 2022 at Morris Hospital, following a brief battle with COVID.
Born November 16, 1933 in Manteno, Illinois, Gerald was a son of Glen W. and Irene (McNutt) Hatch. He was raised in Manteno and graduated from Manteno High School with the Class of 1951. On December 27, 1952, Gerald married Grace F. Buffo in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Braidwood, and together they made their home and raised their family in Braceville.
Gerald worked his entire life in construction, and was a member of Local 75 and Local 179, from where he retired in 1990 after 32 years of service. He was a member of Area #1 Club and the Wilmington Moose Lodge #241. Gerald enjoyed fishing and boating; camping, and spending time with the kids, grandkids and great grandkids.
Survivors include his son, Louis Hatch; daughter, Francine Palmer; grandchildren:  Nicole (Tom) Harrah, Nicholas (Marissa) Palmer , Derek Carter and Tiffany Schmidt; great grandchildren: Cameron Palmer, Kennedy Grace Palmer, Rachel Harrah, Jonathon Harrah, Joshua Harrah, Ashlyn Carter, Katelyn Carter, Heyli Schmidt, Alyssa Schmidt, Madison Schmidt and Cayden Schmidt; nephews and nieces: George McComb, Wayne (Judy) McComb, Britt (Laura) Hatch, Julie Pasel and Robyn Hatch, and numerous cousins, as well as friends at the Moose Lodge in Wilmington.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents; wife Grace; son, Gerald “Butch” Hatch, Jr. and nephew, Kenny (Becky) McComb.
Private services are being held, and Gerald will be laid to rest with his late wife Grace in Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Braidwood, Illinois. Age 53 of Coal City, formerly of Joliet, passed away Friday, December 31, 2021 at Morris Hospital.
Born January 2, 1968 in Joliet, Rolondo Oscar was a son of Oscar and Marie (nee Giovanini) Escobedo. He was raised and educated in Joliet and graduated from Joliet Central High School with the Class of 1986.  Roe gained employment with Illinois State Police and was a dedicated employee for over 30 years, working as a fingerprint technician. It was through his career at Illinois State Police that he met Cynthia Shetina, and on September 21, 1996 they were married in Mokena. Together, Roe and Cindy moved to Coal City where they lived the majority of their married life.
He was an active member of the Illinois Federation of Public Employees and served as Union Steward for several years, ardently supporting worker rights. Roe was a big football fan, especially the Dallas Cowboys and University of Michigan Wolverines, and also enjoyed professional wrestling. He loved following all of his nieces and nephews achievements on the playing fields, rarely missing a game, and was proud to be their biggest fan. Roe also took pleasure in building and repairing computers and other electronic systems, generously offering his skills to others at no cost. He was a devoted member of Ignite Christian Church in Braidwood and considered his faith in God of the utmost importance, giving the strength and love to live his life to the fullest.
Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Cindy Escobedo of Coal City; three brothers and six sisters: Mary Delgado of Joliet, Linda Delgado of Texas, Donna (Big Dan) Galindo of Tennessee, Judy (the late Enrique) Esquivel of Joliet, Frank(Marcia) Delgado of Lockport, Gloria (Calvin) Beckley of Tennessee, Doris (Odon) Garcia of Joliet, Ken (Stephanie) Escobedo of Minooka, and Kevin (Clara) Escobedo of Joliet; his mother-in-law, Jutta Shetina of Channahon, two brothers-in-law: Tom (Kim) Shetina of Dallas, Texas and Kenny (Dawn) Shetina of Coal City; and his nieces and nephews: Yolando, Nikki, Little Dan, David, Michelle, Marcelo, Danielle, Brian, Sean, Tara, Carlos, Tomas, Mimi, Anthony, Alexis, Ezekiel, Blake, Evan, Kenny, Brennen, and Danielle who was his "chicken nugget".
Roe was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law, Edward Shetina.
The family will receive friends for a visitation on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at Ignite Christian Church, 1180 West First Street, in Braidwood from 3:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 7:00 p.m. Pastor Jeff Whittum will officiate.

Bill Hanley - January 22, 1946 - December 30, 2021

Age 75 of Coal City, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, December 30, 2021 at his home.
Born January 22, 1946 in Chicago, Illinois, William David was one of 17 children born to Joseph and Ruth (Wilson) Hanley. He was raised in Coal City and graduated from Coal City High School with the Class of 1964. Bill went on to honorably service in the United States Air Force during Vietnam from 1966 until 1968. On April 15, 1972, he married Gail Valiente in Assumption Catholic Church in Coal City, and together they made their home and raised their family in Coal City.
Bill was a 50+ year member of the Concrete Masons Local 11 Area 161, from where he retired. He was the owner and operator of Bill’s Concrete, and following his retirement from the Union, he took on a position cutting grass for the Coal City School District.
A diehard fan of the Chicago White Sox, Bill also took pleasure in playing golf. He enjoyed vacationing in Florida, and when home could constantly be found driving around town, which was his regular routine of checking out the school grounds and family members homes. He was also a true Coaler enthusiast, and was his grandkids biggest fan. Bill never missed the opportunity to be at any event his grandkids participated in, and he especially enjoyed lawnmower rides with his grandson, Nash.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Gail; two daughters: Britt (Chris) Harseim of Coal City and Brooke Hanley (Eric Telander) of Oak Lawn; three grandchildren: Blake and Blaire Harseim and Nash Telander; (14) siblings: Suzanne (John) Lissy, Judy (Richard) George, Cathy (Jim) Hutchings, Tim (Jodi) Hanley, Mike (Sharon) Hanley, Jane (James) Calcaterra, Jean (Gary) Skubic, Ruth Ann (Dan) Mulhall, Albert Hanley, Patty (Terry) O’Bert, Janet (John) Peters, David Hanley, Jeff (Nancy) Hanley and Tom (Rhona) Hanley; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Sharon (John) Gilchrist, Janie (Jeff) Keck, Shirley (Larry) Wharrie, and Chuck (Karla) Valiente, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Jim Hanley and Joe Hanley, and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Don and Yolanda Valiente.
The family will receive friends for a COVID observant visitation at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 N. Broadway (one block north of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City on Sunday, January 2, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at 4:00 p.m. Pastor Brad Shumaker from the Coal City United Methodist Church will preside.
Per Bill’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded following the services.
He will be laid to rest in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. Those wishing to attend the military honors and committal services may assemble at the funeral home at 10:45 a.m. for a formal procession to Abraham Lincoln, which will depart at 11:00 a.m.

Stephen R. Fisk - August 11, 1966 - December 22, 2021

Age 55 of Diamond, Illinois, and formerly of Joliet, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at Morris Hospital, following a brief battle with COVID.
Born August 11, 1966 in Joliet, Stephen Robert is the son of Sally (nee Sheeler) Fisk of Diamond and the late George H. Fisk. He was raised in Joliet; graduated from Minooka High School with the Class of 1984, and went on to attend Joliet Junior College. Steve worked as a CNA at St. Joseph Medical Center for many years.
In addition to his genuine caring and nurturing demeanor, Steve will be remembered for his blunt sense of humor and stubborn tendencies. He was a great collector of many things, most notably KISS memorabilia, as well as Mario collectibles. Steve was a fan of the Chicago Bears and always enjoyed working on a project. He was both creative and handy. Gone too soon, Steve who possessed a strong Christian faith, leaves behind a legacy of being a devoted son, loving husband, brother, amazing uncle, and friend to many.
Survivors include his wife, Sheri (nee Huston), whom he married March 8, 1997 in New Hope Presbyterian Church; mother Sally; siblings: Sharon (the late Rich) Peck, Mike (Karen) Fisk, Tim (Mary) Fisk, and Polly (Duke) Yaguchi; his “Outlaws”, mother-in-law, Wendy Huston; brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law, Kenny (Hillary) Huston, Darren (Andrea) Huston, Kelly (John) Olson and Mandy (Joel) Eaton; two uncles, Donald Robertson and Robert Frye; one aunt, Diane Fisk, and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as many cousins and friends.
Steve was preceded in death by his father, George Fisk, and his father-in-law, Kenny G. Huston.
The family will receive friends for a memorial visitation at New Hope Presbyterian Church, 80 North Garfield Street in Coal City on Sunday, December 26, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service 4:00 p.m. Rev. Mark Hughey will officiate.

Age 89 of Coal City, Illinois, passed away Thursday morning, December 16, 2021 at her home.
Born August 7, 1932 in Braidwood, Illinois, Marilyn was a daughter of Joseph and Anna (Voboril) Kaiser. She was raised in Braidwood and graduated from Reed Custer High School. On June 22, 1957, Marilyn married Jack Bueschel in the United Methodist Church in Coal City. She worked at the Joliet Army Ammunition Plant until becoming a mother, in which she completely devoted herself to for the remainder of her life. It could be said that Marilyn was not only the World’s Greatest Mother, but could hold the same title as an aunt.
Throughout the years, Marilyn loved her time spent in the yard and gardening. She enjoyed “dangling” in the pool and spending Sunday evenings dancing at the Croatian Club in Joliet. One who could almost always be found up late into the evening, she was sure to never miss a Blackhawks game and recently found herself caught up into the Hallmark Channel. Marilyn was a huge fan of Elvis, but it was only second to that of her son, whom was equally devoted to her. Deeply loved, she will be forever missed.
Survivors include her son Brad Bueschel of Diamond; nephews and nieces: Joseph (Deb) Veronda, Jeff (Elizabeth) Veronda, Ed Koca, Nancy (Dave) Lorenc, Dennis (Susan) Koca, Debbie (Len) Mahler, Diane (Clint) Mellen, Jean Slater, Gail (Danny) Anderson, Nori (Barry) Butterfield, Bev Koca, Dawn (Marty) Typer, Colette (Pete) McConoughey, Drew Bueschel and Jim (Jen) Mueller, and numerous great nieces and great nephews.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband Jack on September 30, 1988; three brothers: Ed (Rosella) Koca, George (Lenore) Koca and Frank (Adeline) Koca; her sister, Helen (Anton) Veronda and one nephew, George Koca.
The family will receive friends for a visitation on Monday, December 27, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. until the time of funeral service 7:00 p.m. at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block north of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City. Pastor William Beagle will officiate, and cremation rites will be accorded following the services.
Those attending the visitation and services are requested to wear face coverings, per the CDC mandate.

Born November 27, 1951 in Joliet, Judith was a daughter of Raymond and Anna May (Gil) Delach. She was raised in Joliet, where she was active in both Girl Scouts and dance. She graduated from Joliet West High School with the Class of 1969 and went on to attend St. Francis College, where she earned her Bachelors in Psychology. Judy enjoyed school, and was proud of her dedication to academics. She had a love for 60’s music, and though always quiet and rather private, she will be remembered as a good soul.
Survivors include her brothers: Lawrence (Chris) Delach of Morris and Raymond (Janice) Delach of Coal City; one niece, Courtney (Jon) Chapman of Shorewood; uncle and aunts: Bob (Cathy) Delach and Josephine Balma, both of Joliet and numerous cousins.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, and only son, Eric Wilson.

Age 64 of Coal City, Illinois, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at Morris Hospital.
Born July 2, 1957 in Chicago, Kay was a daughter of Donald and Viola (nee Reader) Shoemaker. She was raised and educated in Coal City and graduated from Coal City High School. Kay Lynn furthered her education by attending Olivet Nazarene University where she achieved her Bachelor of Sciences in Nursing degree. She was a nurse her entire life. Kay Lynn worked as the Director of Nursing at Embassy Care in Wilmington for several years, and later as a home health nurse. Most recently, she held employment with the Grundy County Health Department as the Director of Nursing from 2003 to 2009 and as the Administrator from 2009 to 2013. During the COVID 19 Pandemic, Kay Lynn was proud to work part time as a contact tracer.
She was a devoted member of the Coal City United Methodist Church, where she participated in numerous groups such as Bible Study, Rebekah Conference of Women, and Sunshine Circle. Through the church, Kay Lynn also volunteered with the Coal City Food Pantry and the Coal City Disaster Response Team. Her spirituality and church family were an integral part of her life, providing great motivation and creating precious memories that were near and dear to her heart.
Kay Lynn loved spending time outdoors at the Coal City Area Club camping and letting her dog, Remi, go out for his morning run. She always looked forward to the change in season when she could take a drive to see all the leaves fall, or to find the perfect spot to watch the sunset. Kay Lynn was an animal lover and enjoyed trivia games like Jeopardy and solving riddles. She was a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan and horse racing fan, always anticipating Triple Crown season, especially the Kentucky Derby. Holidays were very important to Kay Lynn, especially the Fourth of July which she called "her holiday" due to how close it was to her birthday; her patriotic spirit, and her enjoyment of fireworks. She had a magnetic personality that people gravitated to, seemingly always making her the center of attention when she was telling one of her great many stories. Kay Lynn was a true Christian woman, always willing to help anyone in need, who treasured her family and friends more than anything.
Survivors include four children: Robert (Abbie) Shoemaker and Jessica Shoemaker (Coty Hoffman) both of Morris, Carlos Shoemaker (Amy Roszak) of Worth, Illinois, and Jimmy Elkin of Morris; seven grandchildren: Lilah Shoemaker, Sakura, Selena, and Violet Hoffman, and Anthony, Lily and Rylan Elkin; one uncle, George (the late Joan) Reader of Coal City, and the many members of her church family, whom she loved dearly.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents and several aunts and uncles.
The family will receive friends for a visitation on Monday, December 6, 2021, at the Coal City United Methodist Church, 6805 East McArdle Road, from 4:00 p.m. until the time of funeral service at 7:00 p.m. Reverend Bradley Shumaker will officiate. Per Kay's wishes, cremation rites will be accorded following the services.

Age 84 of Goose Lake, and formerly of Joliet, Illinois, passed away Monday, November 29, 2021 at Morris Hospital.
Born October 28, 1937 in Paris, Tennessee, Shirley Ann was a daughter of Raymond and Macon (Clayton) Glisson. She was raised in the Paris, Tennessee area and graduated from Purrier High School. On May 29, 1958, Shirley married Warren Eugene Dunbar in Joliet, Illinois. Together they resided in Joliet, and after spending time up north for numerous years, retired to Wisconsin before returning to Goose Lake.
Shirley worked for R.O.W. Window Company in Rockdale, from where she retired. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed spending time cutting grass and tending to her yard. Her number one hobby however was her family, and she absolutely cherished her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include her children: Mike (Cindy) Dunbar of Goose Lake and Ed (Laurie) Dunbar of Gilbertsville, Kentucky; three grandchildren: Michael, Jr. (Callie) Dunbar, Jennifer (Keith) Munsell and Bailey Dunbar; four great grandchildren: Emily Munsell, Elliot Munsell, Vivian Dunbar and Lucas Dunbar, and one brother, Kenneth Glisson of Puryear, Tennessee.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; husband Warren in 2014; three sisters: Dorothy Glisson, Velma Call and Virginia Means, and six brothers: Waddell Glisson, Weldon Glisson, Buford Glisson, James Glisson, Aubrey Glisson and Donnie Glisson.
Per Shirley’s wishes cremation rites have been accorded.
The family will receive friends for a memorial visitation at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 N. Born in Morris, Illinois in 1960, John was the son of John “Jack” and Jeanne (Beal) Ronchetti. He was raised in Coal City and graduated with the class of 1978.
John met his wife Pamela (née Bogash) in high school. They married on a hot August day in 1980 and together raised their family in Coal City. Throughout his career, John worked at ComEd and Elwood Energy, as well as Morris Hospital, and Chicago Bridge and Iron. He was also involved in the community, serving on the Coal City School Board and as a little league coach for his sons’ sports teams.
Known for his tastes in both music and bourbon, he could name that tune or distillery with unrivaled accuracy. He greatly enjoyed taking trips with Pam and was always on the look out for the next destination. During their travels, his welcoming nature could strike up a conversation with anyone. He was a loving husband, supportive father, and took his role as a fun grandparent quite seriously.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Pamela Ronchetti; three sons: Matthew (Maliha) Ronchetti of Los Angeles, CA; Nathan (Paige) Ronchetti of Naperville, IL; Jonathon Ronchetti of West Chicago, IL; three grandchildren: Miller; Marshall; Juniper; sister Linda (the late Richard) Burns; mother, Jeanne Ronchetti; sister-in-law, Dawn Bogash; brother-in-law, David (Debbie) Bogash, and nephews and nieces: Craig (Tonia) Burns, Jeffrey (Stacey) Burns, Seth Bogash (Nicole Pate) and Lynnsey Bogash (Ryan Naples).
John was preceded in death by his father, John “Jack” Ronchetti, and his brother-in-law, Rich Burns.

Born March 6, 1961 in LaGrange, Illinois, Patrick Campbell was a son of Donald Gerald and Eileen Patricia (Campbell) Husch. He was raised in LaGrange, graduated from St. Joseph High School in Westchester, Illinois and went on to attend Western Illinois University.
Patrick was a high rise window washer before gaining employment as a building and property maintenance manager in Naperville. Most recently he worked as a local handyman. In addition, Patrick was a long time care giver for his parents before their passing. He enjoyed R/C Traxx Cars; loved the outdoors and fishing, and was a crazy good pool shark whose favorite band was ZZ Top. Though Patrick was quiet, he was kind and loved his family with his whole heart, leaving behind many beautiful memories with his nieces and nephews whom he cherished.
Survivors include his siblings: Gerry (Susan Grey) Husch, Peggy (the late Kevin) McNicholas, Bobby (Krissy) Husch, Molly (Tim) McNeil and Paul (Colleen) Husch; nieces and nephews: Kevin, Paul “P.J.”, Ryan, Kyle, Molly, Kelly, Katie, Caroline, Catie, Pete, Gabe and Jack; his beloved aunt, Jan Kaminski and uncle, Tom Campbell.

Born May 9, 1949 in Springfield, Illinois, Lorrayne Marie was a daughter of Joseph and Rose (Hauptman) Seitz. She was raised and educated in Springfield and on September 23, 1967, Lorrayne married Allen Burch in Sacred Heart Church in Springfield.
Lorrayne worked for many years at Mazon State Bank until her retirement. She was a member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Parish in Coal City and belonged to the Coal City Area Club. She enjoyed ceramics; was an exceptional baker, and looked forward to her monthly luncheons with the ladies from the bank. Lorrayne was always on the go, and she enjoyed shopping. Recently she found great pleasure in simply taking rides with Al in the Jeep with the top down. One who was always ‘to the point’, Lorrayne was truly a giving person, who had a selfless demeanor and never knew a stranger. She treasured her roles as a wife and mother, and was filled with joy to become a grandmother to her three amazing grandchildren, which were her life. The days ahead will never be the same without Lorrayne here, but she leaves behind a timeless legacy, and her loved ones will proudly carry on in her footsteps.
Survivors include her husband, Allen; two daughters and sons-in-law: Nikole and Ubaldo Herrera and Tracy and Bryan Perino, both of Coal City; three grandchildren: Ryan Herrera, Dylan Perino and Kendall Perino; two brothers-in-law, Charles Burch and Richard Burch, and several nieces and nephews.
Lorrayne was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Joseph; two sisters: Ellen and Christine; her father-in-law and mother-in-law: Eldon and Beulah Burch, and one brother-in-law, George Burch.

Obituary Preview: Allora Frances Crawford passed away peacefully at home on Monday, November 1, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. Frances was born at the Coalfield Hotel on the corner of Chestnut and Broadway to Buster and Grace Farmer. She was educated in the Coal City schools; graduating with the Class of 1946.
Frances married (T.J.) Jack Crawford on June 28, 1952 in the Coal City United Methodist Church. Their entire married life was spent on Chestnut Street in Coal City. From that union, five “glorious” children were born: Lynn, Lou-Ann, Tommy, Lori and Lisa.
Frances was a loving Daughter, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt, Cousin, and Friend. She was a beauty queen, an accomplished roller-skater, an avid reader, a working woman, a housewife and traveler who loved Wisconsin, Las Vegas and Florida. She enjoyed watching her kids and grandkids participate in many different genres and endeavors. She also enjoyed a good cocktail and good company.
Meals for seven led to being an accomplished cook and baker. Sunday dinners and all the holidays at Fran’s were the place to be. The most recent celebration was for her 93rd birthday with almost all her family attending.
She was a working woman before it was popular and was employed by the United States Government at APSA as a Procurement Specialist, moving from Elwood to the Rock Island Arsenal to complete her 30 year career, retiring in 1987.
Frances is survived by her children: Lynn (the late Frank) Albrecht, Lou-Ann (James) Albrecht, Tom (Sue) Crawford, Lori (Perry) Hines and Lisa (Mark) Smyk. Her grandchildren: Brad (Julie) Overton, Stacy (Scott) Klee, Nathan (April) Albrecht, Bryan (Nicolle) Albrecht, Chris (Jodie) Crawford, Nick (Megan) Crawford, Jacki (Ben) Sisk, Matt Hines and Aaron (Toni) Hines; great grandchildren: Christian and Devin Overton, Lauren, Amanda and Dana Albrecht, Kaily, Ethan and Braden Albrecht, Matthew Perino, Brock and Brady Crawford, Isadora Crawford, Olivia Sisk, Avery and Addy Hines, and Grady Hines, plus many dear friends and family. She’s also survived by her sister-in-law, Joan Van Duyne and her other lifelong “kids” the Carpenters, as well as her dear friend, Rosie Enger.
Preceding her in death was her first husband, Richard McGill, her parents, Buster and Grace Farmer, her in-laws, Matt and Maurine Crawford, her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, and the love of her life, Jack Crawford. A life well lived, with a lasting legacy of love, kindness and lots of fun!
The family will receive friends for a visitation at the Coal City United Methodist Church, 6805 E. McArdle Road in Coal City on Friday, November 5, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Age 76 of Port Washington, Wisconsin, and formerly of Coal City, Illinois, passed away Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Aurora Health Center in Grafton, Wisconsin.
Born September 24, 1945 in Joliet, Illinois, John was a son of Joseph and Brigid (nee Ryan) Testa. He was raised and educated in Coal City and graduated from Coal City High School with the Class of 1963. John furthered his education by attending Northern Illinois University and completed his Bachelor of Science Degree in 1970. On July 20, 1978, he married Linda L. Shults in Denver, Colorado.
John worked all over the country as a project manager for air pollution control, spending 21 years with General Electric, and 5 years with BHA .He then started his own consulting company, J.T. Associates of Overland Park, which he owned and operated for 21 years and then retired in 2015 to live in Port Washington. John was a past member of Elks and Moose Lodges, the American Legion, and the Coal City Area Club. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed to hunt and fish. John also took pleasure in antiquing, playing poker, and traveling across the United States and Europe. He was a good hearted man who always made time for his family and helping his friends and neighbors in need.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Linda Testa; two children: Shawn Testa of Warsaw, Missouri and Jennifer (Ryan) Swincicki of New Albany, Ohio; one sister-in-law, Arlette Testa, and his nieces and nephews: Kevin Cody, Brian (Jeanne) Cody, JoEllen (Larry) Fish, Claudette (Frank) Schmitt, Ed (Jackie) Testa, Mike (Jodie) Testa, and Mark Testa.
John was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Lorraine (Ed) Cody, and two brothers: Joseph (Rose) Testa and James Testa.
The family will receive friends for a visitation on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway Street, in Coal City, Illinois from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. A funeral procession will follow the visitation to Braceville-Gardner Cemetery in Braceville, Illinois, where John will be laid to rest in his family plot.

Born May 12, 1940 in Butte, Montana, Darwin John was the son of John and Esther Lang. He was raised and educated in Butte, Montana and would serve honorably in the United States Navy before going on to marry Sharon Kinser on October 30, 1960.  He held employment at Caterpillar tractor company for 32 years.  Darwin enjoyed making different types of pens, caring for any animal he could find.  He had a touch of orneriness yet he loved other’s even if they were not family.
Survivors include one daughter, Sandra (the late Dennis) Beckman; one grandchild, Steve Beckman; and Eric Bauer who was like family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Sharon Lang in 2012.

Age 95 of Coal City, passed away peacefully with her daughters by her side on Friday, October 8, 2021 at the Lightways Hospice Home in Joliet, Illinois.
Born March 9, 1926 in Joliet, Illinois, Lucille was the 7th of 14 born to Charles Joseph and Gertrude Evelyn (Howard) Haldorson. She was raised in Symerton before the family moved to a farm on Whitetie Road north of Carbon Hill. Lucille attended Carbon Hill School and went on to graduate from Coal City High School with the Class of 1944. On June 25, 1949, Lucille married Royce Quayle in Assumption Catholic Church in Coal City, and together they made their home and raised their family in Custer Park.
Lucille was a stay at home mom, until gaining employment with the Custer Park Grade School in 1969.  She began as a Kindergarten Teacher, and retired as school secretary following 25 years of faithful service. Throughout the years, Lucille was active serving on numerous committees throughout the community. She served on the feasibility committee that chose the fate of the Custer Park Grade School to become a part of the Reed Custer School District; she and Royce helped in the initial forming of the Custer Park Fire District and Auxiliary; she was active in the PTO/PTA, and she was proud to have piloted the hot lunch program which began with her and other mothers serving barbeque to the students one day a week. In addition, Lucille was an active member of the Wilmington VFW Auxiliary, and belonged to Assumption Catholic Church in Coal City. In 1985, Lucille and Royce relocated to Carbon Hill, and it was following the death of Royce in 2002 that she made her home in Coal City. Lucille enjoyed playing cards, watching T.V. and cooking. The Holidays were always a time of coming together, and family was of the greatest and utmost importance to Lucille. She truly cherished her entire family and will be long remembered by the community and beyond as “Grandma Lou”. To know Lucille was to love her…

Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; husband Royce; one grandson, Joshua Allen; brothers: Howard, Charles, Raymond and Betty, Robert and Genevieve, John, George and Clyde Haldorson; sisters: Elsie and Joe Skubic, Helen and Harold Jensen, Betty and Joe Panish, and Alice and Elmer Wills; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Floyd and Pearl (Metzka) Quayle and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Leroy Hedgecock, Nyletta and Francis DeSplinter, Everett and Alma Quayle, Lois and Chuck Davis and Betty and Clifford Tweedt.
The family will receive friends for a visitation at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block north of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City on Thursday, October 14, 2021 between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow on Friday morning, October 15, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, 215 South Kankakee Street in Coal City. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Reverend Josh Miller presiding.
Those wishing to participate in the services virtually are welcome to join the live stream beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Friday morning. A link for the event will be available on Lucille’s memorial page.
Burial will follow in Braceville-Gardner Cemetery, where Lucille will be laid to rest with her late husband, Royce.
Pallbearers will be: David Allen, Kevin Allen, Dana Lardi, Kelly Lardi, Jill Vironda, Ron Vironda, Mike Noffsinger and Brenna Noffsinger. Honorary pallbearers will be: Abby, Grace, Claire, Lucy, Alice and Caroline Lardi, Dane and Braeden Noffsinger and Olivia, Andrew and Ryan Vironda.
Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Lucille's memory to Assumption Church Building Fund, or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Born October 5, 1964 in Champaign, Illinois, Brian Keith is a son of Sarah Anne (nee Wirth) and the late Richard W. Bacon. He was a University of Illinois graduate where he earned his Master’s Degree in Business, and held employment with J.P. Morgan Chase for ten years where he was a wonderful colleague to work with. Brian was an avid golfer who was part of a weekly golf group at Carriage Greens every Thursday, and in addition participated in several different runs. Brian will be remembered as a kind man who would always put others before himself.
Survivors include his mother, Sarah (Jerry) Beedle; one son, Nicholas (Danielle) Bacon; one step son, Brian (Christine) Simmons; three step daughters: Shannon Taylor, Trisha Simmons, and Ashley (Alex) Scott; six grandchildren: Kyle Taylor, Alexis Simmons, Evan Simmons, Charlie Bacon, Ava Scott, and Mia Bacon; one brother, Greg (Pam) Bacon, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Brian was preceded in death by his grandparents: Mr. and Mrs. William J. Bacon and Mr. and Mrs. Herman J. Wirth; his father, Richard Bacon, and one brother, Dwayne Bacon.
