This was where she met her husband Willie Spruell. They began attending Sunday school services together often. Their courtship blossomed into marriage on December 25, 1949. Sadly, in October of 2020 Rosie would lose her husband, Willie Sr, after 71 year of marriage. To their union (2) children were born, Beatrice and Willie Jr.

Rosslyn Range - November 29, 1933 - May 28, 2021

Departed: 05/28/2021 (Joliet)
Obituary Preview: Rosslyn Roy Range was born November 29, 1933 and passed on May 28, 2021.  His wit and wisdom graced us for 87 years.  He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Linda Range, along with his blended family, which consists of his step-daughter Chiquita Bayless, son-in-law Donald Bayless, grandson Malcolm Bayless, daughters Michelyn “Lyn” Macomber and Regina Range, and son-in-law David Greenawalt.  Roy was born to Thomas and Sabina Range and had three siblings, Thomas Range Jr. (deceased), and Francis Aubry (deceased), and is survived by his youngest sister Mary Range-Brown.
Roy lived his full life with sincerity and without regret.  He had a kind heart and was always ready to give you “words to live by” and ready to provide guidance and be a friend.  He had broad shoulders anyone could lean on.  He could be called upon at a moment’s notice for help, especially to family and friends where he applied his carpentry building skills.  He was skilled with his hands and skilled on the grill.  His love of golf cannot be understated.  He played and traveled the country with the “Sweet Swingers” and could often be found all bundled up participating in the “Eskimo Open.”  And if he was not playing it, he was watching it.
Roy retired from the Los Angeles County Probation Department in 1988, and his service as a probation officer fulfilled his desire to instill values to juveniles who lost their way, never giving up on them. He led by example.  He was an Army veteran, a track star, winning the gold medal in the broad jump event at the 1955 Pan American Games in his youth.  Although we no longer have his physical presence with us, we will treasure his life, love of family (which includes the many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews), kind friends, wit, wisdom, love of travel, feisty and tough yet loving and gentle heart, and of course, his love of golf in our memories forever.  We will truly miss his presence in our lives.
In respecting and honoring his wishes, his family has decided in lieu of a traditional funeral service, there will be a “Celebration of Life,” to be announced at a later date in the coming year.  The Family would also like to extend a personal thank you to Ferdinand Range for his help and guidance during this difficult time.
