Vincent Francis Corrinne - Unknown - February 24, 2024

Departed: 02/24/2024 (Clymer)
Obituary Preview: Vincent Francis Corrinne, beloved son of Beatrice (Brown) Corrinne and Andrew Nicholas Corrinne, was born on June 17, 1940, in Commodore, PA. On February 24, 2024, surrounded by the love of his family, he peacefully departed this life to be with the Lord.
Vince, as he was affectionately known, was a graduate of Purchase Line High School, Class of 1958. Following his graduation, he embarked on a journey marked by hard work and dedication. Vince held various manufacturing positions throughout his career, demonstrating his strong work ethic and commitment to providing for his family. For over three decades, he lent his talents and expertise to Fisher Scientific, where his contributions were valued and respected by colleagues and peers alike.
He was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a cherished friend. Vince approached life with a quiet strength, always ready to lend a helping hand.
In addition to his remarkable career and profound impact on those around him, he dedicated a portion of his life in service to his country. In December 1963, he answered the call of duty and proudly enlisted in the United States Army. It was during this time that Vince embarked on another significant journey, one of love and companionship. While home on leave, he exchanged vows with Katharine Ann Little, on a beautiful Christmas Day, December 25, 1963.
Together, Vince and Katie shared a bond that spanned six decades, a testament to their enduring love and unwavering commitment to one another. In December 2023, they joyously celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
Their union was blessed with the arrival of two daughters and later two sons-in-law, Kelly Corrinne-Thomas (Mike) and Janet Corrinne-Harvey (Doug), who brought immeasurable joy and fulfillment into their lives. Vince found immense happiness in his role as a husband and father, but it was as "Pa" to his beloved grandchildren that he truly flourished.
With boundless pride and overflowing love, Vince delighted in watching his grandchildren grow and thrive. Whether cheering them on from the sidelines of sporting events or attending their dance recitals and watching them graduate, he was their steadfast supporter. Alongside Katie, he dedicated countless hours to nurturing their passions and instilling values of hard work, resilience, and perseverance.
In the embrace of his family, Vince found his greatest source of happiness and fulfillment. Taylor Corinne and Luke Anthony Thomas, along with Jameson Ann and Fletcher Nicholas Harvey, brought endless laughter and warmth into his life, filling his heart with boundless love and pride. Even the family's cherished pets, grand-dog Cooper and three grand-cats, Geno, Catarina and Sergei, added to the sometimes-joyous chaos, completing the vibrant family circle that Vince held dear.
His life was marked not only by love and devotion but also by the profound losses he endured along the way. Vince was preceded in death by his dear parents, as well as an infant son, Nicholas Carl Corrinne, whose memory remained forever cherished in his heart. Additionally, he was preceded in death by his beloved sisters, Emma Sokoly, Annabelle Aloi, Evelyn Lockard, and Dolores Corrinne, and his brother Anthony Corrinne.
In addition to his immediate family, Vince mourned the loss of his brother-in-law, Alvin Little, sister-in-law, Verna Foreback, and in-laws Carl and Janet Little, who had been dear to him throughout his life's journey.
As Vince's loved ones gather to bid him farewell, they will be guided in their mourning by his nephew, Francis Aloi, who will lead a service honoring Vince's life and legacy. Visitation will be Tuesday evening, February 27th from 6:00 to 7:00 PM at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home & Crematory of Clymer. His funeral service will begin immediately following the visitation hour at 7PM.
Though Vince's earthly journey has come to an end, his spirit lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. As family, friends, and loved ones come together to celebrate his life, let us find solace in the knowledge that he has found peace in the loving embrace of the Lord, reunited with those who had gone before him. Though his physical presence may be gone, the memories they shared and the values he imparted will serve as guiding lights in the days ahead. Memorial gifts may be directed to the IRMC Cancer Center, in partnership with UPMC Hillman Cancer Center. Terry Lee Glasser - September 06, 1952 - April 29, 2023

Departed: 04/29/2023 (Clymer)
Obituary Preview: Terry L. Glasser, 70, formerly of Marion Center, passed away on Saturday, April 29 in Camp Hill, PA. He was born on September 6, 1952, in Indiana, the oldest child of the late Margaret “Peg” (Houck) and Ronald L. Glasser.
A 1970 alumnus of Marion Center High School, Terry also earned two bachelor of science degrees from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in math education and computer science. Terry was a fixture in Indiana County sports circles for many years.  He played on countless area baseball, basketball, and softball teams, and was instrumental in developing the Marion Center youth basketball program.  Throughout the 1980s and 90s, he worked as a substitute teacher and coach in area high schools, most notably leading a talented Marion Center boys’ basketball team into the PIAA playoffs in 1993.
In his second career as a computer programmer, he worked in the Harrisburg and Pittsburgh areas for major PA employers such as Highmark, PennDOT, and Deloitte. He ultimately settled and retired in Lemoyne, PA, in order to be closer to his children and grandchildren.
Throughout his life, Terry enjoyed gardening, collecting baseball cards, and talking about sports- most of all Pirates’ baseball and Penn State football- with other diehard fans.  He had an encyclopedic knowledge of the vintage model train set that he and his dad compiled over the years, and he took up genealogy in his retirement.  Most importantly, he was a loving and supportive father, and a devoted Pop Pop and great-uncle.
He loved nothing more than eliciting a giggle or a groan from the children in his life that he so adored.  In his later years, he found the most joy cheering on his grandkids and their cousins at sports events and musical performances; teaching those kids how to throw and catch; being the patient recipient of kid-directed makeovers; sneaking junk food behind the parents’ backs; and falling asleep rocking the newest baby.
He is survived by: his children, Amanda (Herbster) Neczypor and her husband Chris, of Haverford, PA; Travis Glasser and his wife, Jessica (Lambert) of New Cumberland, PA; his grandchildren, Harper Neczypor, Samantha Neczypor, Layla Glasser, and Carter Glasser; his father, Ron Glasser, of Indiana; his sisters, Shelley Steffy and Rhona Kvatek, and brothers-in-law Robert Steffy and Jim Kvatek, all of Marion Center; his ex-wife and co-grandparent Tracy (Phillips) Hendricks of Mechanicsburg, PA; his nieces and nephews, Stacey (Steffy) and Mike Sourwine, Aaron and Nicole Steffy, Eric and Julie Steffy, Meghan Peterman and Deepak Pal, and Tessa (Peterman) and Danny Snyder; honorary kid Nittany Hendricks; four beloved great nieces and seven great-nephews; and three grand-dogs.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Peg Glasser.
Visitation will be held at Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home & Crematory, 655 Franklin St, Clymer from 5-7pm on Thursday, May 4th. On Friday, May 5th at 10am, viewing will be followed by an 11am service officiated by Pastor Michael Sourwine. Guests should feel free to wear their favorite team’s shirt or jersey in honor of Terry.

Robert Alan Kozak - July 05, 1953 - March 16, 2023

Departed: 03/16/2023 (Clymer)
Obituary Preview: Robert Alan Kozak, 69, of McDonald, PA passed away, Thursday, March 16 th , 2023, at St. Clair Hospital, in Pittsburgh. Born July 5 th , 1953, in Utica, NY, he was a son of the late Harold and Eve (Wasilko) Kozak.
Rob lived a very full life. He enjoyed riding his bike, playing records, watching classic tv, dancing at weddings and running his HO trains. He loved helping people and being involved in his community: From helping to get the mail delivered in Utica to ensuring the fire trucks were ready to roll in North Warren. Rob endlessly washed cars, handed out apples, and kept neighborhood watch from dawn to dusk. Yes, he handed out his own tickets to violators of “the law”.
In his later years, he insisted on a daily car ride, good naps and never missing dessert or a late-night sandwich. He had a remarkable ability to sniff out hidden snacks and chocolates. He especially loved the sunroom, where he could peer out over the neighborhood and watch the activities during the day and where he could turn on holiday lights and relax by the Christmas tree. He loved the lights and tree so much that his sister kept it up nearly year-round, changing themes from Valentine's Day to St. Patrick's and Easter.
Most of all, Rob taught all of us about patience and the importance of the little things. We often worried about Rob as he tried to avoid physicians. Even if you knew something was bothering him, his reply to comments of concern were always the same “I’ll be alright” and today, having died on 3:16, we know that is true for sure. John 3:16
He was a member of St. John’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Dixonville, PA and former member of the North Warren, PA Volunteer Fire Department.
Robert will be missed by his siblings: Brian Kozak, of McDonald, PA; Jim Kozak (Grace), of Silver Lake, OH; Joyce Baker, of McDonald, PA; Richard “Rick” Kozak (Elaine), of Rio Rancho, NM; and Ken Kozak (Jeanine), of Uniontown, OH. He will also be remembered by his nieces and nephews: Steven (Danielle) Baker, Hannah (Andrew) Silverman, Ella (Nestor Via Y Rada) Curtiss, Alexandra (Jonnathan) Cucaita, Nicholas Kozak, and Nathaniel Kozak; and three great nieces: Sadie Baker, Eva Cucaita Kozak, andIzabella Via Y Rada.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Fred Baker; and infant great nephew, Rhys Baker.
Friends will be received Wednesday, March 22 nd from 6:00 until 8:00 PM with a Parastas Service at 7:00 PM at Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home & Crematory, of Clymer: 655 Franklin Street. His funeral service will be Thursday morning at 11:00 AM at St. John’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Dixonville, with Fr. Ihor Protsak, celebrant. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an obituary?

An obituary is a written notice that announces the death of a person, typically including their name, age, date of birth and death, and a brief biography. It may also include information about their family, accomplishments, and funeral or memorial service arrangements.

Why are obituaries important?

Obituaries serve as a way to inform friends, family, and community members of a person's passing, allowing them to pay their respects and offer condolences. They also provide a sense of closure and help to celebrate the life of the deceased.

Who typically writes an obituary?

The task of writing an obituary usually falls to the family members or close friends of the deceased. Funeral homes or mortuaries may also offer assistance in writing and publishing obituaries.

What information should be included in an obituary?

A typical obituary includes the person's full name, age, date of birth and death, place of residence, occupation, education, military service, hobbies, achievements, and surviving family members. It may also mention any charities or organizations that were important to the deceased.

How long should an obituary be?

The length of an obituary can vary depending on the publication and the family's preferences. Generally, it should be concise and to the point, ranging from a few sentences to a short paragraph.

Can I include photos in an obituary?

Yes, many publications allow you to include one or more photos with the obituary. This can be a nice way to personalize the notice and make it more meaningful to those who read it.

How do I submit an obituary for publication?

The process for submitting an obituary varies depending on the publication. You may need to contact the newspaper or online obituary platform directly to learn their specific requirements and deadlines.

How much does it cost to publish an obituary?

The cost of publishing an obituary can vary widely depending on the publication, word count, and any additional features such as photos or special layouts. Expect to pay anywhere from $50 to several hundred dollars.

Can I write my own obituary?

Yes, some people choose to write their own obituaries in advance, often as part of their estate planning or as a way to ensure that their life story is told accurately. This can be a unique opportunity for self-reflection and creativity.

What is the difference between an obituary and a death notice?

A death notice is a brief announcement of someone's passing, typically including only basic information such as name, age, and date of death. An obituary is a longer, more detailed tribute that celebrates the person's life and achievements.

Can I include humor or personality in an obituary?

Absolutely! While an obituary should be respectful, it's also okay to inject some humor or personality into the writing. This can help capture the essence of the person who has passed away.

How do I handle sensitive or difficult information in an obituary?

If there are sensitive or difficult aspects of the person's life that you're not sure how to address in the obituary, consider consulting with family members or a trusted friend for guidance. It's essential to be honest while still being respectful and tactful.

Can I include quotes or lyrics in an obituary?

Yes, quotes or lyrics that were meaningful to the deceased can be a beautiful way to add depth and context to the obituary. Just be sure to verify the accuracy of any copyrighted material.

How long after someone passes away should I wait before publishing an obituary?

The timing of publishing an obituary can vary depending on cultural or religious traditions. Typically, it's best to wait until after the funeral or memorial service has taken place, but this can vary depending on individual circumstances.

Can I publish an obituary online?

Yes, many online platforms and social media sites allow you to publish an obituary. This can be a convenient way to reach a wider audience and share information quickly.

How do I notify people about an upcoming funeral or memorial service?

In addition to including this information in the obituary itself, you may want to send out separate notifications via email, social media, or phone calls to ensure that everyone who needs to know is informed.

What if I'm not sure about some details in the obituary?

If you're unsure about certain facts or dates in the person's life, it's better to err on the side of caution and omit that information rather than risk publishing something inaccurate.

Can I update or correct an obituary after it's been published?

This may be possible depending on the publication's policies. If you need to make changes or corrections, contact the publication directly as soon as possible.

How long will an online obituary remain available?

The length of time an online obituary remains available varies depending on the platform or website. Some may keep them up indefinitely, while others may remove them after a certain period.

Yes, many websites offer tools for creating memorial pages or websites where friends and family can share memories, photos, and condolences. These can be a meaningful way to honor your loved one's memory.

Is it appropriate to include charitable donations in lieu of flowers?

This is a thoughtful way to honor your loved one's memory while also supporting a cause that was important to them. Be sure to specify the charity's name and any relevant details in the obituary.

Can I include personal anecdotes or stories in an obituary?

Absolutely! Personal anecdotes and stories can help bring the person's life story alive and make the obituary more engaging and memorable.

How do I handle multiple marriages or complicated family relationships in an obituary?

This can be a sensitive topic. Consider consulting with family members or a trusted friend for guidance on how to navigate these complex relationships with tact and respect.

What if I'm not comfortable writing an obituary myself?

If you're feeling overwhelmed or unsure about writing an obituary, don't hesitate to ask for help from a funeral home, mortuary, or professional writer who specializes in crafting tributes.

Can I use social media to share news of someone's passing?

Yes, social media can be a useful tool for sharing news quickly with a wide audience. However, be mindful of privacy concerns and respect for those who may not yet have heard the news.
