Cecelia L. Orgo - January 12, 1928 - October 29, 2023

Departed: 10/29/2023 ( Cincinnati)
Obituary Preview: Cecelia Orgo, whose passing came peacefully on October 29th, 2023, was known by many names throughout her long and well-lived life. Most affectionately, she was known as Mom, Mama Ceil, and Nana. Born into a Greek and Irish family on January 12, 1928, in Chicago, IL Ceil was one of eight children. In 1950, she met her husband, Tom, giving him a chance even though as legends tell it, she was on a date with an entirely different suitor when he made his pitch that she was the woman he would marry. Ceil and Tom built a big life for themselves, raising three children and running a family restaurant in Hillside, IL, taking trips to Las Vegas to jitterbug the night away, making a life in Florida, and finally settling down in Cincinnati for their last chapters. Ceil will most closely be remembered and celebrated by her children: Tom and his wife Eileen (Geraghty) Orgo; CeAnn (Orgo) and her husband John Raterman; and Vic and his wife Maggie (Carroll) Orgo; her grandchildren: Lisa (Orgo) Cashwell, Thomas Orgo; Jeanna Orgo; Kati Lyn (Orgo) Harrison; Kelly (Orgo) Ball; John Raterman; Missy Raterman; Kim (Raterman) McDermott; and, Paul Raterman; and her many great-grandchildren. If you knew Ceil, you know that she was “so appreciative of the people around her”… and also “so very cold, freezing!”. But, no matter how cold she was, her presence always warmed the room she shared with us. Her singing of “Route 66” and “Straighten Up and Fly Right” will live on in our hearts, her love for cracking a joke will always bring us a smile, and her happiness at caring for her loved ones with her whole heart is a lesson we’ll live by. We’re certain that all of the sugar kisses she stole over the years will sweeten life in her final resting place where she and Tom will pick up their love story right where it left off. Here, she will continue to live in our hearts forever. Visitation will be on Monday, November 6th from 9:30am–10:30am in the greeting room of the St. Antoninus church, followed immediately by mass in celebration of Ceil’s life. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Intensive Care Unit (https://give.cincinnatichildrens.org/).

Bill was born in the West End and moved with his family to Price Hill after the flood of 1937. After graduating from Holy Family, he attended St Xavier High School for one year and then discerned a call to the priesthood at the Athenaeum. Although he chose a different vocation, his faith and humility were hallmarks of his life.
Bill taught us the gift of hard work. After completing high school he embarked on a career in the HVAC industry where he worked for nearly sixty years, retiring from CINFAB at the age of 78. Known for his punctuality and precision, Bill's work ethic was unparalleled. To Bill, work was a gift and he was deeply appreciative of the opportunity to have worked on numerous iconic Cincinnati structures, including Paycor Stadium, Cintas Center, Riverfront Stadium, and the Great American Tower. In 2015 he was recognized with the Cincinnati Spirit of Construction Lifetime Achievement Award.
Bill cherished his wife Dororthy who he married in 1961. Bill's passion was spending time with Dorothy, their family and their 14 grandchildren. They enjoyed Cincinnati Reds games, Overhill Swim Club, high school sporting events and anything that would connect them with family and friends. With faith at the center of their marriage, Bill and Dorothy were members of Our Lady of Victory (OLV) parish for over 50 years and were active leaders in the OLV marriage ministry.
Known for his warm smile and outgoing personality, there are countless stories of Bill engaging strangers in conversation (especially if they had an Elder or Seton shirt on!). His heart for serving and connecting with others led him to be a Eucharistic minister at Christ Hospital for over 25 years. While Bill will be greatly missed, his family and friends are left with an amazing example of a life filled with faith, humility, dedication, hard work, and kindness. Bill’s mantra was, “Do all things for the greater honor and glory of God.” His life was a testament to this.
No visitation will take place. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday November 3rd at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Victory Church, 810 Neeb Road, Cincinnati, followed by a celebration of life at the OLV Convocation Center (next to the church) from 12-2. Mary Sue Hautz - April 29, 1937 - October 22, 2023

Departed: 10/22/2023 ( Cincinnati)
Obituary Preview: Mary Sue (nee Cianciolo) Hautz, was born on her mother’s birthday, April 29, 1937. Her parents, Fred J. Cianciolo and Mary Rose (nee Raniero) Cianciolo welcomed their second child while living in Covington, Kentucky, on what was commonly referred to as Spaghetti Hill for the abundance of Italian Americans living in the area. Her parents soon moved their growing family to Clerose Circle in the St. Williams Parish of Price Hill. Mary Sue, fondly called Sue by her family and friends, thrived in a loving and family-oriented environment, surrounded by her siblings and friends and always following the lead of her beloved older brother, Gus.
When Sue was eight, the family moved to what would become the iconic family hub, a beautiful home on Julmar Drive. Fred owned the Fred Cianciolo Produce Company and Mary Cianciolo raised their six children. Sue graduated from Mother of Mercy High School in 1955 while dating a young man named Jack Hautz. After high school, Sue showed an aptitude for business and always enjoyed in later years talking about her early career with Eagles Savings and Loan.
Sue and Jack married on August 26, 1957 and began a family. With the start of her family, Sue left her banking career to raise four children over the next sixteen years. When her children were older, Sue joined her husband in business by gaining her real estate license. They were truly partners in discussing and sharing the family business interests.
Sue worked first for Nick Guetle at Guetle Realtors, then Sibcy Cline and Thiemann Realtors. A true people person, Sue was successful in business, but always her first devotion was family and friends.
Sue loved travel. The fondest memories of her travels include a journey through her familial roots in Sicily, Italy with her son, John and his family. One can never forget the oft-repeated story of Sue’s travels to Germany and France with her brother Gus, his wife Sheila and daughter Connie, where Sue mistakenly de-boarded a train just before departure to enjoy a cigarette. The panicked cry went out as the train began motion of, “Mom’s NOT on the train!” Gus, Sheila, and Connie made several additional unplanned train connections to meet with her again. That incident earned Sue the nickname of “Choo Choo Sue” which she accepted with her characteristic good humor.
That trip was an excursion of recovery taken immediately following the sudden cardiac-related death of her husband after 49 years of marriage. Sue courageously journeyed the path of widow by assuming the presidency of Jack’s business, continuing to maintain her real estate license, traveling with friends, and taking ultimate joy in the lives of her children, grandchildren and first great-grandchild.
She was forever the most faithful wife, dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, and friend.
Sue, devoted mother of John (Gina) Hautz, Connie (John) Wintzinger, Jimmy (Melissa) Hautz, and David (Helen) Hautz returned to the Lord on Sunday, October 22 surrounded by her family after a brief illness complicated by Alzheimer’s Disease.
She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, Fred J. and Mary Rose Cianciolo, precious grandson Timothy William Hautz, beloved brother Lt. Gen. August (Gus) M. Cianciolo and brother-in-law Mike Hood, dear nephew Marty Cianciolo and many other family and friends.
In addition to her children and their spouses, she is survived by cherished grandchildren, Nick (Anna) Hautz, Sara (Seth) Adamson, and Johnny (Tegan Chitwood) Hautz, Jake (Anna Wilson) Hautz and Jack Hautz, Kevin, Ryan, Neal and Maureen Hautz, and great-granddaughter Avianna Rose Hautz. She is also survived by beloved siblings, Carol (Jerry) Held, Joe (Jeanne) Cianciolo, Rosanne (Mike) Brady, Diane (Mark) Tudor, treasured sister-in law Sheila Cianciolo, loving sister-in-law, Harriet Thieman, and many dear nieces and nephews, cousins, and countless friends.
A visitation will be held Sunday, October 29 from 1-3 pm at Radel Funeral Home, 650 Neeb Road, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at St. Antoninus Catholic Church, 5425 Julmar Drive, on Monday, October 30 at 10:30 am.
The family is most grateful for the care Mary Sue received from the staff of Elite Living, her caregivers, Hillebrand Home Health, and Queen City Hospice.

Mary Lee Ponder - January 23, 1954 - October 18, 2023

Departed: 10/18/2023 ( Cincinnati)
Obituary Preview: We are sad to announce the passing of Mary Lee Ponder (Van Hart) (Strunk) (nee Rothring) on October 18th, 2023. After a long illness, Mary is at peace.
Mary was the daughter of the late Robert and Rosemary Rothring and was preceded in death by her ex-husband Jerry Van Hart. She is survived by her daughter Lisa Van Hart (Jonathan), her sister Peggy, and Pam and Gary Van Hart (Zachary, Adam, Molly) and many dear family members and friends. In memory of my beloved sister, mentor, and best friend who goes before me to light the way: I am standing upon the seashore. A ship at my side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength. I stand and watch her until at length she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other. Then someone at my side says: "There, she is gone!" "Gone where?"
Gone from my sight. That is all. She is just as large in mast and hull and spar as she was when she left my side and she is just as able to bear the load of living freight to her destined port. Her diminished size is in me, not in her. And just at the moment when someone at my side says: "There, she is gone!" There are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices ready to take up the glad shout: "Here she comes!"
And that is dying... - A 19th Century Funeral Sermon – In lieu of a service, donations may be made in Mary's name to: ASPCA donate online at: https://www.aspca.org World Wildlife Fund donate online at: https://www.worldwildlife.org Hospice Foundation of America donate online at: https://givedirect.org/hfa/ St. Jude Children's Research Hospital donate online at: https://www.stjude.org/ Wounded Warriors Project donate online at: https://woundedwarriorproject.org
