Daniel Jost - December 16, 1969 - April 02, 2024

Departed: 04/02/2024 (Wrentham)
Obituary Preview: Daniel Arthur Black Jost died on April 2, 2024, at the age of 54 in Wrentham, Massachusetts.
Daniel’s death was caused by complications of the syndrome, Cri du Chat, that he had at birth. That he lived to the age of 54 is a testimony to the care that he received during his life, first at Crystal Springs in Assonet and most of his life in Wrentham House. The people at these residences took loving care of Danny and he responded with his own love for them. Though he was severely limited, he could give love. He enjoyed riding in cars, and he would go up to the staff sometimes with the keys asking nonverbally for a ride. Danny's life was shorter than many and no one would wish to have his syndrome. It meant, however, that he was always with people who cared about him, that he never felt any disrespect, and that he did not have to worry about the many troubles of the world.
He is survived by his father and mother David and Elaine Jost, by his brother Rob Jost and his sister-in-law Amy Jost and by his niece Eloise and nephew Lucian.
The funeral will be privately held, conducted by the R. J. Ross Funeral Home of Wrentham.
Gifts in lieu of flowers may be made to Open Sky Community Services or to Sturdy Health Foundation in Attleboro.

Susan M. Bolinger - December 25, 1949 - March 03, 2024

Departed: 03/03/2024 (Wrentham)
Obituary Preview: Susan M. (Switzer) Bolinger, age 74, of Plainville, MA passed away on March 3, 2024. She was the loving wife of 54 years to Jesse (Chip) Bolinger.
Susan was a “Christmas Baby,” born in E. Chicago, IN on December 25, 1949, to Ralph and Florence (Wernersbach) Switzer. She grew up in Griffith, IN, attending Griffith High School, graduating class of 1968. At the age of 19, while working as a car hop at a restaurant called the Coral in Griffith, she met Chip, the love of her life. They married in June of 1969 while he pursued his engineering degree at Purdue University. Suzi worked at the Prudential Center in Chicago as they set up their home together and readied themselves for Sue’s true calling of being a wife and mother. They welcomed Zach and Megan in 1974 and 1976, respectively. In 1978, Chip accepted a position at the Foxboro Company and they moved their little family nearly 1,000 miles to Wrentham, MA, arriving in the wake of the Blizzard of ‘78 and digging their new little home out of several feet of snow. Sue spent many of the best years of her life in Wrentham, welcoming two more children, Emily and Jill in 1980 and 1984. Susan poured herself into being a wife and mother - she was a woman of homemade birthday cakes, singing on long car rides, dinner on the table every night, a family pew at church, and rules designed to keep her childrens’ best interests at heart.
Suzi thrived in community. She played many active roles in clubs and organizations like Christian Women’s Club, Quilters Guild, and the Holly Club. She was immersed in her kids’ lives as a soccer mom, Girl Scout mom, music lesson taxi, etc. But possibly her most treasured involvement was in the Trinity Church. The church was her cornerstone, and the source of some of her most precious bonds and friendships. She worked part-time jobs over the years to supplement her true career of being a homemaker, and took from those experiences several other deep and cherished friendships. Susan had an open heart and a love for so many; she lived her life in service to the community and the people around her. She was well-known for quietly and constantly doing for others, particularly in times of need.
In 1995, the threat of layoffs at the Foxboro company forced a move back to Indiana, where they bought a beautiful old Victorian in Terre Haute. The house was about the only thing Sue loved there, so after a few years, they took the first opportunity they could to get back to New England, which they had come to think of as Home. The next several years brought a few moves within Massachusetts and Connecticut, and the blessing of grandchildren, who made Sue’s heart complete. She was a loving and tender Nana, and she delighted in indulging the grandkids without the confines of rules.
When Chip retired and they were also free of the confines of his work, they enjoyed extensive bucket-list travel. They visited countries in Europe, which satisfied her love of old things standing the test of time. One of her favorite things she saw was the Book of Kells in Ireland. They also bought a little camper and did the cross-country Route 66 road trip they always wished they had done when they were young.
Sue’s golden years also brought the luxury of “snowbirding;” she and Chip landed in a perfect community of fellow retirees in a park in Winter Garden, FL. Susan again found herself part of another close-knit community there, rich with deep bonds and precious friendships. She found a fulfilling balance of summers in New England with her children and grandchildren, and winters in Florida with her Winter Garden Crew.
Susan faced her diagnosis of pancreatic cancer with a unique courage and grace. True to how she lived her life, she sustained her composure and spent the remaining 18 months living and not dying. Bolstered by Faith, she was not afraid in the end.
In addition to her husband, Susan is survived by her children Zachary Bolinger and his wife Hana of Czech Republic, Megan (Bolinger) Park of Norfolk, MA, Emily Bolinger of New Bedford, MA and Jillian Bolinger and her partner Kim Morgan of Fairhaven, MA; her grandchildren Ben, Bruno, Felix, Kaemon, Ezra, Gavin, Gwen, Ethan, Avery, and Aubrey; her sister Virginia and her husband Art Minninger, her sister-in-law Jeanette and her husband Chuck Horwell, as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family. Susan was predeceased by her brother the late Jim Switzer and his wife the late Jackie Switzer.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service Friday, March 8, 2024, at 11:00AM at Trinity Episcopal Church, 47 East Street Wrentham, MA. A collation will follow the service in the parish hall of the church. Burial will be private.
