Obituary Preview: William (Bill) Maurice Gustin III, 72, of Abington, formerly of Randolph, passed away unexpectedly on April 11 th , surrounded by his loving family.

Bill was born in Dorchester to the late William and Mildred (Greeley) Gustin. He was a graduate of the Christopher Columbus High School in Boston and Massachusetts College of Art. Bill was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.

Bill spent his career as an incredibly talented graphic design artist. In retirement, he spent his days enjoying an extensive and admirable list of hobbies – fishing, drawing, painting, photography, carving signs, making fishing lures, developing family videos for every holiday, and manicuring his lawn to perfection. He could usually be found in his art studio or garage listening to all his favorite music, especially movie soundtracks composed by John Williams. Bill loved being on the water – whether it was his little rowboat as a child, fishing from the shores of Cape Cod, or on the ‘Mattara’, his boat later in life named after his cherished son and daughter. He spent countless family vacations on Lake Winnipesaukee, Cape Cod, Loon Mountain, Lake Sunapee and the Outer Banks, where he was always the life of the party. Anyone who knew Bill, knew that he had an incredible gift for making you laugh and feel welcome. His sense of humor lit up the room. He was a humble man who was totally unaware of the impact he made on the lives of so many.

Bill was a true family man – first and foremost, he provided endless love. His wife, children and granddaughters were the center of his world, and he would do anything to make them happy. His best attribute was he gave freely – his time, his love, his commitment, his talents. Whatever was asked of him, he was there to make it happen. In the end, it was never about him, it was always about his family.

Beloved husband of forty-three years to Susan K. (Ricca) Gustin, devoted father of Tara K. Kosak and her husband Richard of Hanover, Matthew W. Gustin and his partner Lauren Carpenter of Watertown, loving Papa of Paige & Lucille Kosak, dear brother of the late Michael Gustin and his wife Anne of Duxbury, Diane DeLuca, and her husband Guy of Plymouth, and Karen Monteforte and her husband Joe of Randolph. Bill is also survived by many wonderful nieces and nephews. “Eternity begins and ends with the ocean’s tides”

A memorial service will take place on Tuesday, April 19 th at 11 a.m. at Quealy Funeral Home in Abington. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Hundley; Stepfather of Jessica Kennedy of Arlington and Joseph Legaski of Taunton;  Father in Law of Paddy San of Abington; Beloved brother to Toni Howard of Conway, NH and William “Billy” Infantino and his wife Elaine of Bridgewater; Son-in-law of Frieda Entner of Hawley, PA; Brother-in-law of Richard and Annmarie Entner of Hawley, PA, and Scott Eames of Sims, NC; Beloved uncle of Nicholos Howard and his wife Elaine Howard, and Corrie Spaulding and her husband Joshua Spaulding; Grandfather of River and Jane Infantino, Emily Sutherland, and Alexa Kennedy; Great uncle of Cadence Howard; Formerly married to Jocelyn (Eames) Infantino; Preceded in death by brother-in-law Jay Howard and step daughter Jennifer San.

Alex was born in Boston to Alexander and Ethel Infantino. He graduated from Hyde Park High School in 1964. He married his high school girlfriend, Jocelyn, and together they had one son, Keith. Alex worked at Boston Envelope for over 25 years as a production coordinator, operations manager, and machine designer and he carried those skills to other companies until he retired. He married Denise in 2004 and he loved her children as his own.

Alex loved new challenges and the satisfaction of solving problems. Alex was the first on the block to get a computer as soon as they became available. He would stay up all night messing it up and figuring out how to get it working again. His amazing mechanical mind extended into a love of cars, especially his ’72 Corvette, which he always seemed to be repairing. In his early years he fixed up cars just to smash them to bits in demolition derbies – once driving a $50 car, that only went in reverse, from Stoughton to Norwood Arena.

Being outdoors, hunting with his buddies, and camping, canoeing, and fishing with his family were some of Alex’s favorite things. He had an adventurous spirit and it seemed like he could do anything he set his mind to. He ran multiple 10Ks and marathons. Alex also made fun adventures for those around him. His Fourth of July fireworks, launched from the Saco River, were legendary. He built horseshoe pits in his backyard for family and friends, a zip line for the kids, and even an ice skating rink one winter. He loved scuba diving to find lobsters under the biggest rock  he could lift and then bringing them home to boil. He was a master of the kitchen, preparing all types of seafood, traditional Italian dishes, and of course his famous chili.

Family and friends knew Alex as a loyal protector and defender, and also a bit of a wildcard. He was quick to help when someone needed a hand, especially with car troubles. He also loved to pop out at surprise parties, four hours away from home, whether he was expected or not. At home, Alex treasured his collection of bitters bottles, vinyl, and reel to reel tapes which he meticulously organized. He passed his tenacious and competitive spirit as well as his love of music to his son, Keith. Alex spent countless weekends driving Keith to compete in karate tournaments and later driving or flying to his son’s rock shows. Alex loved his wife Denise and never wanted to be apart from her. He adored his grandchildren, River, Jane, Emily, and Alexa, and was so proud of them. He looked forward to each new update, enthusiastically sharing every photo with family and friends. Alex will be greatly missed by those who had the good fortune to know and love him and be loved by him.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday April 30 from 11am to 2pm in the Quealy & Son Funeral Home 116 Adams Street, Abington.

Jim worked many years at Curry College and Martins Restaurant in Abington, and the Capeway Manor of Brockton. Jim enjoyed fishing and baseball. He was a member of the Sons of Italy in Rockland serving as a trustee for many years. Jim was actively playing bocce and participated in the local bowling teams. Obituary Preview: George W LaFleur passed away on March 27th peacefully in his sleep, joining his beloved son Jason LaFleur, infant daughter Georgette, and late wife Sheila.George spent his early life in Massachusetts, growing up in Quincy with his parents, Joseph and Lillian LaFleur and siblings, Joseph, Arthur, Robert, Linda, Barbara and Kevin.

As a young man he proudly served our country in the United States Navy, learning the trade of pipe fitter and eventually running his own company. After marrying his sweetheart, Evelyn (Grenier), they made their home in Rockland to raise their family. George is survived by three of his five children, Theresa Alix, Jonathan LaFleur, and Sarah LaFleur.

He enjoyed three grandchildren, Eric Souther, Lauren Souther and Trevor Alix. George delighted in his family and looked forward to entertaining everyone. He would show up at gatherings with silly glasses, a hat, or even a wig to make people smile. He always brought treats or trinkets for the children of the family to enjoy.

After his children were grown George made Exeter, New Hampshire his home. There, George continued indulging his passion for antiques and yard sales, making many friends and loving life.

Visitation will be held at the Quealy & Son Funeral Home 116 Adams Street, Abington on Wednesday April 13 from 11am to noon, followed by a funeral home service at noon. Interment Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.

Armstrong, his sister Valerie Armstrong and his brother Robert Armstrong.  He is survived by his daughters, Rachael, Taylor, and Cailan Armstrong, his sister Susan (Armstrong) Chiavaroli, brother-in-law Paul Chiavaroli, his nephew Anthony Chiavoroli, Niece Nicole (Chiavaroli) Calderas, her husband Carlos Calderas and the mother of his children, Sharla (Chapin) Armstrong. He had many other friends and family. David grew up in South Weymouth where he excelled at baseball. He was retired from the Plumbers Union Local  12. David was a lover of music and spent many years with his band, Hidden City. He loved his girls more than life and enjoyed coaching football and baseball and working out. He will be remembered for his outgoing and comical personality. David’s last few years were spent as a paraplegic due to a spinal cord injury. He fought hard to embrace his disability.  He was loved and will be greatly missed by many.

A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday April 9 in St. Bridget Church, 455 Plymouth Street, Abington at 10:30am.

Joseph John Bikowski - August 22, 1942 - March 25, 2022

Joseph was predeceased by his parents Leon Bikowski and Alice (Podlaski) Bikowski, as well as his beloved wife, Michelle (McCarten) Bikowski, his brother Stanley Bikowski, and his sisters Veronica (Bikowski) Wilson, and Jeanette Bikowski.

He is survived by his dear brother Leon Bikowski. He was the loving father to Margaret (Bikowski) and her husband Douglas Holmes of Quincy, MA, Timothy Bryan Bikowski of Abington, MA and Bridget Eileen (Bikowski) and her husband Jonathan O'hare of Abington, MA.

Joseph is also survived by his grandchildren Matthew Nicholas Bikowski – Warner of Avon, MA, Evelyn Michelle O’Hare of Abington, MA, Victoria Eileen O’Hare of Abington, MA and his stepgrandchildren Jared and Zachary Holmes of Kentucky. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews and all of their children, who he adored very much.

After high school, Joseph enlisted in the US Navy which he faithfully and successfully served 23 years and ultimately achieved Chief Warrant Officer O2. He had a deep passion and respect for earth’s ocean and atmosphere and served as a Deep Sea Diver, a Master Rigger and Dock Master.

After his retirement from the Navy, Joseph worked for the Department of Defense as Master Rigger for the USS Constitution.

He later attended Northeastern University and graduated with Bachelors of Science in Respiratory Therapy. He continued to work in healthcare alongside his wife at Cranberry Specialty Hospital, Middleborough, MA and Coyne Health Care, Rockland, MA. On his spare time, Joseph was a very creative and inquisitive individual. He took pride in everything he did. There was nothing he couldn’t do. He was a very generous man with a huge heart. Joseph was passionate, energetic and loved to travel the world.

He cherished his wife and kids and grandchildren. He lived a blessed life. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him. Peace Dad

George’s true passion was found spending time with his cherished wife, Gwen Barnett whom he married in 2005.  George and Gwen purchased a home where they had lived in Brockton for many years together with their beloved cat Merlot.  If George and Gwen were not working, they were rarely seen without the other.  George and Gwen could always be spotted driving around town together sipping on coffee or spending time with their large extended family.

George was born in Brockton to the late Marge and Hal Simon.  He is survived by his revered wife Gwen Barnett, his siblings, Mark, Tim, Jeff, Debbie, Jacquie, Keith, Gregg, Michael and his wife Mary, Dianne and her partner Kara.  George is also survived by a large extended family, countless loving nieces, nephews and many friends and coworkers.

She was also survived by several great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.

Evelyn was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and enjoyed traveling to various baseball stadiums. She had  a passion for wine and visiting wineries across the country. Evelyn always appreciated the small things in life, especially her family. She worked at Woods Hole Oceanographic as well as Gillette as a graphic designer. She retired from the finance industry assisting with writing mortgages. She was loved by many and was always a very kind hearted person and will be missed by all those who loved her.

Donna also leaves behind many close friends and family and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Ed is survived by his daughter Keri Morrison and her husband Eric Morrison of Norwell, his daughter Maureen Melone and her husband Scott Melone of Pembroke, his son Michael McVinney of Boston, and his grandchildren Caitlin, Ryan, Ariana and Andrew. Ed was formally married to Nancy (Goodman) Inglis.

Ed graduated magna cum laude from Boston College in 1974 and received his Juris Doctorate from Suffolk University Law School in 1986. He was a member of the Massachusetts Bar for 30 years and was proudly admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court.

Born and raised in Brighton, Ed had a passion for travelling the world, but always maintained a love for his home city of Boston. After several years in Phoenix and Seattle, he came back to the Boston area settling in Hanover where he became a dedicated local politician as an elected member of the Hanover School Committee and appointee to the South Shore Vo-Tech School Committee, Hanover Democratic Town Committee, and Hanover School Building Committee.

Ed’s family expresses their sincere gratitude to the staff of Oak Hill Nursing Home in Middleboro for the compassion and care they provided to “Eddie” for the past 5 years.

Obituary Preview: John “Jack” F. Stedman of Whitman formerly of Holbrook, passed February 25, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. John is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Linda Stedman, his daughter Tracey M. Stedman of Whitman, his granddaughter Kylie L. Cura of Weymouth, and his great grandchildren Laila, Mason, and Ella all of Weymouth. Also, survived by his sister Ellen Everson of Weymouth, nephew Michael Everson of Weymouth, his late niece Donna Everson, and several cousins, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Jack worked at Mass Envelope for 47 years and Glen Security for over 20 years. He coached  his daughters High School softball team, was a softball umpire, enjoyed bowling, and loved to watch the Red Sox, Bruins, and Patriots, as well as bowling and golf.

Visitation will be held at the Quealy & Son Funeral Home 116 Adams Street, Abington Thursday March 3 from 4 to 7pm. Funeral service Friday at noon in the Quealy Funeral Home. Interment Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.

Sue Ann is survived by her loving husband Ronald T. Brake and her daughter Sharon E. Brake; Also, survived by her brother George and his wife Celia Bodmer, and her sisters Betty, Georgia Lee, and Joyce Ann.

Sue Ann lived in Maryland until she was married in 1955 to her husband Ronald, they were married in the All Saints Church in Dorchester, Massachusetts and lived in Dorchester where they raised their daughter. Later the family moved to Abington in 1976 where they still reside today. Sue Ann enjoyed many activities throughout her life including crochet, doing ceramics, painting in watercolors, watching movies, and she adored all creatures great and small.

She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

Anne was born August 10, 1956 to the late Paul Revere and Alice Dorothy Bartlett. She was raised in Weymouth, MA, and spent all of her summers at "The Camp" on Wigeon Pond in Plymouth, MA, with her sister, Susan, brother, Paul, aunts, uncles, and many cousins.

She married her true love, Tom Phair, in 1978 and together they raised four beautiful daughters, Kerri, Julie, Lauren, and Ali. Anne graduated from Laboure College and loved her work as a diet technician at Braintree Rehabilitation Hospital. She was a wonderful mother and beloved Nana to Tom, Jack, Cole, Will, Anna, Alex, Elise, and Baby Johnny.

Anne was active, enjoying her time gardening, decorating her house, and taking long walks. She loved to be with her family and explore. Her favorite destination was always "The Camp." She loved sitting on the beach in the sunshine. She'd chat and admire her grandbabies and take them for a ride in her treasured rowboat. "Anne's Boat" was given in love to her by Tom after many years of searching for the perfect replica of her childhood boat. We will remember her this way: out in her rowboat on sparkling Widgeon Pond among the pines and in the sunshine. Happy.

Stephen graduated from Abington High School in 1986, and then went on to attend Massasoit community and Quincy College. Stephen was a technician for Bell Atlantic and AT&T in Boston as well as Network Plus in Randolph. Stephen also handled real estate transactions as well. Stephen was the first grandchild to his beloved nana and grandpa he is now at peace joining his dad, his brothers Joseph and Paul, as well as his sisters Janet and Julie.

Ed was raised in Hanover and graduated in 1964.

Ed was the loving devoted husband and best friend to Margaret “Peggy” Schneider for 54 years, they had 3 wonderful children together, Thomas, Joseph and Jeanne. Ed was the proud Pa to several beautiful granddaughters. He is survived by his two sisters.

Ed enjoyed traveling especially on cruises, getting together with friends to go for trips to the local casinos, playing cards, and going out to dinner to his favorite restaurants. Mr. Schneider “Ed” retired from South Shore Vocational High School as an Administrative Aide after 40 years.

Ed enjoyed working with young adults and headed up the VICA program, He coached basketball and drove the school bus for the school. He could also be found at his part time job as bartender where he came to know many of the locals over the years. She was the loving mother to her two children, Linda Cohan and Ron Picard.  She is also survived by her grandson, Ryan Picard, her brother Robert (Bobby) McNulty and his wife Carol, her son-in-law Tom Cohan, and is pre-deceased by her grandson, Taylor Cohan.

Family was everything to Jeannette.  She loved spending time with them, especially over the holidays, with Thanksgiving being her favorite.

She enjoyed spoiling everyone at Christmas was something no one could convince her to stop doing – it brought her so much pleasure to watch everyone open their gifts Christmas morning.  Jeannette loved to gamble.  She kept the local convenience stores in business with her scratch tickets, saving any and all winnings for her trips to Foxwoods with her brother, Bobby, or her daughter, Linda.

She was very generous, supporting causes such as animal protection, and places like St. Jude because she believed in saving the children.

There will be a visitation on Monday February 28, 2022, from 4:00 -6:00 PM at Quealy Funeral Home in Abington.

Winnie was born on February 7, 1941, in Boston to the late Margaret and Edward Benoit.  She is pre-deceased by her husband, William J Love.

Winnie is also survived by her siblings, Antoinette and Christos Zigouras (Abington), Ida and David Frazier (Abington), Theresa and Richard Adams (Brentwood, CA) and Richard Benoit and Barry Achung (Marblehead).  Winnie was preceded in death by her siblings Edward Benoit (Mascoutah, IL), John Benoit (Nova Scotia, Canada), Margaret Clark (Whitman), Marcella Benoit (Abington), Willard Benoit (Somerville), James Benoit (Abington) and Leo Benoit (Abington).

Winnie graduated from Central Quincy High School in 1959.  She worked in the mailroom at Grossman’s in Braintree and then many years at the Abington Dry Cleaners until her retirement, where she loved talking and laughing with all the customers.

Winnie was a parishioner of St. Bridget’s Church in Abington.  She was a devout Catholic.

Winnie loved all animals.  She had a special affection for cats, including all the stray cats in the neighborhood.  She also loved to draw, write poems and short stories.

She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Donations in Winnie’s memory may be made to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) at aspca.org.

Robert is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
