Dottie leaves to cherish her loving memory her children, Emmanuel Lewis, Winslow Griffin, and Shelia Griffin, two grandchildren: Jonathan (Serena) and Shannel, two great-grandchildren: Savannah and Andrew Lewis, two siblings: Herman (Esther) Lewis and Hermanese Stevenson, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews, great-great nieces and great-nephews and friends.

"Niecy" as referred to by her mother, she was also known to others by “DFB.”
Deniece had a very affectionate smile that would light up a room. She had a very humble spirit and was very loyal to family and friends, who needed her. Deniece was always the life of the party and loved to rap.
Deniece was one of the biggest pranksters you could ever meet. She also was a loving wife and a devoted mother who loved her family.
Deniece leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband, Christopher Jett of Detroit, Michigan; three sons, Zy'Mari Ballard, Zy'Miere Ballard, and Christopher Lee Jett; one daughter, Alexa Ballard-Jett all of the home; her mother, Elaine Ballard of York, Maine; father, Courtland Ballard of Boston, Massachusetts; one sister, who was her very best friend for life Devaney Ballard of Florida; brothers, Devon Ballard, and Dakota Ballard both of Portland, Maine, Denzel Ballard of Brunswick, and Dominique Ballard of Lewiston, Maine.

Dorothy Lea Bradley was born to The Late Alonzo Bradley and Juanita Smith on April 7, 1935, in Moore County, NC. As a child, she was raised in Eagle Springs and attended the Holiness Church. She eventually relocated to Pennsylvania and attended Park Place Church. She resided in Pennsylvania for decades. In her latter years she moved to Virginia for a period of five years. Her love for Eagle Springs eventually brought her home. This is where her heart always lay, and she was surrounded by her family and friends. She stated in her self-written obituary that she loved everybody.
Mother Dot Drummond never gave birth in the natural but became a mother to so many. Jacqueline Mackey of Pennsylvania was blessed to have been placed in the heart and life of Dorothy Drummond as a very young woman. She gave Dorothy four grandchildren (Robin, Dawn-Yvette) preceded her in death). Her granddaughter Kimberley Mackey has traveled from Republic, Pennsylvania to honor the memory of a grandmother that loved her unconditionally. A beloved niece Deirdra Barrett also traveled from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania to honor her great aunt Dot. Her niece, Angela Wells-Moore of Rocky Mount gave birth to both of her children while living two doors down. Aunt Dot served as a surrogate mother, grandmother, baby doctor and dispensed old-fashioned common sense to a frantic new mom.
Dorothy Drummond was very proud of her heritage and wanted to instill that same pride into the generations under her. She has fed relatives, friends and strangers all of her life and was an exceptional cook. She was also quite astute in business and was not easily fooled.
Dorothy Drummond gave her life to God and loved her church. She would come in with praises and often sat in her recliner with a hymn book to learn a song for Sunday. She had no problem in saying it might not sound good to your ears, but I’m singing it for the Lord.  She always spoke her mind.
She Leaves to Cherish Her Memories James Smith, brother. All Other siblings have preceded her in death. Angela Wells-Moore, niece/daughter of Rocky Mount, North Carolina. She was blessed to have a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Willie and Larry Ingram, Ronnie Bradley held special places in her heart. She will forever bring a glimmer of joy to our hearts when we think of her.

Dennis Dequan Purcell, 17, of Raeford, NC, transitioned from this life on Tuesday, June 4, 2019.  Affectionately known as Quan, from an energy-filled little boy, he was unforgettable to anyone who encountered him. Quan was born on July 21, 2001, to Mr. Dennis Purcell and Mrs. Sarah Morris Purcell. He attended Pinecrest High School and was in the graduating Class of 2019. Quan was also a beloved member of Rock Salvation Ministry in Raeford, NC.
Quan had a smile that could light up the room; you could always find him making other people literally laugh out loud with his jokes, singing, and impressions. He loved spending time with family, especially his cousins and his older sister, Vernita. He and his big sister were inseparable. When you saw one, you most definitely saw the other. Quan was a friend and brother to many. A member of the Pinecrest football team, he was a true servant leader who encouraged and mentored younger players. Quan was a soul of many talents. He was an athlete, a maturing musician, and a rookie hunter. He was deeply loved and many will carry his love and spirit into the future.
Quan was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, George Morris, Jr. He will be lovingly remembered by his parents, Dennis and Sarah Purcell, and his sister Vernita Purcell, all of the home. He is also survived by his maternal grandmother, Bernice Morris, and his paternal grandparents, Walter Ree Purcell and Glinnie Mae Purcell, all of Raeford, NC. Quan will also be missed by aunts: Jenell (Greg), Clara (Carl), Ann (James), Marilyn, and uncles: James (Jackie), Kenneth (Barbara), and Tony. Last but certainly not least, Quan will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by a host of great aunts, great uncles, cousins, and friends.

Kelvin Leon Goins - January 22, 1959 - April 04, 2019

Kelvin Leon Goins was born on January 22, 1959, in Harlem, New York to Leo Goins and Mary Elizabeth Goins. He was predominantly raised in Jamaica, New York. Kelvin was an exceptional student who always finished his work in record time. He had a deep love for Math that he passed on to his children. Kelvin also was a music connoisseur.
Kelvin had the “gift of gab.” He could converse with any and everyone. In his early years, he was known to love Math and excelled in his academic studies. Because of his ability to grasp things quickly, he skipped two grades while attending St. Augustine’s School. He then continued his education at Brooklyn Technical High School in New York. Kelvin was an avid basketball player in his younger years and loved dancing “the hustle.”  He was a jokester that always wanted to make people laugh.
He relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina in 1979, and attended training courses for electricians. Kelvin became an electrical journeyman and was employed by numerous electrical contractors in several states. His electrical expertise allowed him the opportunity to work in many commercial and residential buildings installing electrical wiring. “Cowboy” as he was known on several of these job sites was known to take several young men under his wing. He resided in Charlotte for numerous years before moving to Eastwood, NC. Kelvin had a deep appreciation for family often spending time with his cousins while living in the Queen City. What many of us will miss is his social ability and his ability to liven up the party. Even as his health began to decline, he still was the jokester!
Kelvin Goins departed this life on Thursday, April 4, 2019. He is survived by one son, Kelvin Potter of New Hampshire; one daughter, Chelsea Roberts of Concord, NC; parents, Mary and Leo Goins of Eastwood, NC;  four grandchildren, Kelvin Potter Jr., Jordan Potter, Jorrel Mack and Farrah Roberts; one son-in-law, Cedric Roberts; his longtime companion, Kelly Dyer of Eastwood, NC;  six sisters, Nadine Ellis and Leola Goins of Jamaica, NY, Cheryl Johnson of Cary, NC,  Angela M. Josephs of South Hill, VA, Chelone Banks of Newport News, VA, and Makeda Goins of Eastwood, NC; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mr. Andrew Jackson Jr. the son of the late Nora and Andrew Jackson was born on April 9, 1945, in Southern Pines, NC. He departed this life on March 14, 2019, at his residences in Jackson Hamlet, NC.
Mr. Jackson married his school sweetheart, Evangelist Aggie Jackson in 1967. They have been married for fifty-two years. To this union was born six children. He graduated from Burkley High School in Aberdeen, NC. Andrew joined the United States Army and later worked for Curtis Wright as a machine operator. In 1983 he moved his family to Jackson Hamlet where he became a security guard for Gulistan Carpet and later retired.
He was proceeded in death by his son the Johnny Jackson.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Evangelist Aggie Jackson of the home; five children, Cathy Thomas of North Wales, PA, Mary Ann (Tony) Cooper of Charlotte, NC, Darlene (Sean) Jackson of Philadelphia, Angela (Andre) Caldwell of West End, NC, and Jermaine Jackson of Washington, DC; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Lanore McRae of Washington, DC; two sisters-in-law, Emma McLeod of Laurinburg, NC, and Annie Smith of Charlotte, NC; two brothers-in-law, Roosevelt Thomas and Jackie Thomas both of Pennsylvania; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Eutiffany Latoya Hailey “Tiffany or Tiff” was born on April 09, 1983, in Moore County, daughter of Charles and Linda Hailey. She entered Eternal Life on January 29, 2019.
She was a member at New Jerusalem Holiness Church. Tiffany was a caring, loving, and affectionate person.  She loved everybody.
Tiff graduated from Pinecrest High School in Southern Pines, North Carolina and graduated from Fayetteville Technical Community College in Fayetteville, North Carolina.  She was an All-around athlete and an amazing student. Tiff was employed at Home Choice Health Care in Southern Pines, North Carolina. She loved hanging out with family and friends and loved children Tiff never met a stranger, she spoke to everyone. She was always hugging and greeting everyone with a beautiful smile. “That was Tiff.”
She was preceded in death by grandparents, the late James Stancil Hailey and Maryanne Moore Hailey, Willie and Pearlie Baldwin.
She leaves to cherish her fond memories, her loving devoted daughters, Elaysa McCrae and Talea Hailey of the home; her parents Charles and Linda Hailey of the home; two brothers, Dennis Hailey and Charles Hailey Jr. of Aberdeen NC; a very special grandmother Millie Wright; three nephews, Nick, J.J., and Deshaun of Aberdeen NC; two nieces K.K. and Shayla of Aberdeen, NC; and a loving host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

Obituary Preview: Knowledge Shalah Moore, was born to Amber Cain and James Moore, Jr. on February 22, 2003. He gained his wings on June 22, 2018 at his home in Aberdeen, North Carolina.
He became a member of St. Peter’s Deliverance Church of God as a child where he was a member of the Youth Choir and Hustler’s 4 Christ (H4C). Knowledge loved the Lord and always wanted to say a prayer and sing his favorite song, Heaven. He would sing it anytime and anywhere.
Knowledge attended Sandhills Children’s Center, Southern Pines Primary, Academy Heights, West Pine Middle School and Pinecrest High School. He never met a stranger and will be greatly missed because he had such a big heart and was always concerned about others. Knowledge always talked about being a police officer, President and a dad. To know Knowledge was to love him.
Preceding him in death were his Great Great Grandparents, James and Savannah Hill; Great Grandparents, Dannie and Georgia McDougald, sister Jalae Sherell Brook Harley; aunt Monique Chere’ McDougald and cousin Shyheem Utley.
Left to cherish his fond memories are his mom and dad, Amber Cain and James Moore Jr.; his sister Journey Moore and brother Justice Moore; Maternal Grandmother Lorraine Spellman (Reginald), Grandfather Willie Cain, Jr. (Tamara) and Paternal Grandmother Fern McGuire and Grandfather James Moore, Sr. (Debra). Obituary Preview: On Tuesday, June 12, 2018 God called Mary Elizabeth Roberson affectionately known as “Tiz” to her eternal home. Tiz was born on July 9, 1932 in New York City to the late Thomas “Tommy” Russell and Mary “Maggie” Jackson Russell. Four brothers preceded her in death, Herbert Russell, Curtis Russell, Thomas Russell and Harold Goins. One son preceded her in death, Thomas “Tadpole” Russell.
Tiz was educated in the Moore County School System. She followed her father and brothers into the hotel business, and was employed for fifty plus years as Head of Housekeeping at the Pinecrest Inn, in the historic Village of Pinehurst.
Ma Tiz enjoyed spending time with and spoiling her grands and great grands, taking trips to town for milk shakes and Jimmy Johns subs, and of course to Walmart where she always had a big hug and a smile for everyone. I’m sure she kept the Bargin Box (for those that remember) in business for years, she knew how to stretch a dollar for sure! She did not believe in throwing anything away, everything could be reused, repurposed or recycled.
Those left to cherish her memories are her husband, Wendell P. Rev. John Benton McRae - October 25, 1929 - May 18, 2018

John Benton McRae was born October 25, 1929 in Raeford NC to the late Howard and Lydia McRae and departed this mortal plane on Friday, May 18, 2018.
“Mann” as he was known by many, lived a full and fruitful life.  He began his education at Buffalo Springs Elementary School, Hoke County.
He entered the work force as a head cook for McCain Hospital, McCain NC.  He worked as a gourmet chef in Washington, DC and New York City.  Upon returning to NC, he worked for the Dept. of Transportation for many years.  After retiring, he worked for Hoke County Transportation Dept. and Sandhills Community College.
He was converted and joined Buffalo Springs Baptist Church in Raeford NC where he sang in the choir.  After many years, he moved to St. Mary’s Pentecostal Holiness Church in Red Springs NC where he held many offices.  He also attended Jones Temple Revival Center in Pinehurst NC for many years.  In his latter years, he returned to St. Mary’s Pentecostal Church serving many offices until his health failed.
It was in Hoke County where John met the love of his life, Margerene McCrimmon, who joined him in holy matrimony in November 1951.  From this union, six children were born and will cherish his memory forever:  Anne Rene Watson and Catherine McRae of Aberdeen NC, Josephine Kelly (Howard) of Connecticut, John Benton McRae Jr. (Cathy), Ben Howard McRae (Michelle), Larry Mitchell McRae and Robert Davis McRae of Raeford NC; one sister, Sallie Anderson (Joe) of Philadelphia PA; two sisters-in-law, Gracie Rudolph of Freeport, Long Island and Bertha France of Winston-Salem NC; cousin, Pastor Connie Sutherland; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. “I have finished my course and now I’m ready.”

She departed this life April 22, 2018 at FirstHealth of the Carolinas, Moore Regional Hospital Pinehurst, NC. She attended Moore County Schools. She worked at the Pinehurst Hotel for many years as an outstanding waitress.
Deborah loved planting flowers, reading, sewing and writing poetry. Deborah loved her family, children, grandchildren, sisters and brother. Deborah will be greatly missed by all of her loved ones and those who love her.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her children, Jennifer Richardson of Southern Pines, NC Michael Dowd (Kara) of Carthage, NC, Joshua Richardson of Southern Pines, NC; her grandchildren, Jaukyme, Keishjuana, Sanaya, Lyric & Aubrey; her great grandchildren, Jacoby & Sebastian; sister, Daphney Russel who proceeded her in death; Donna S.
