Freddy L. Peralta - December 16, 1959 - April 13, 2022

Departed: 04/13/2022 (Providence)
Obituary Preview: Freddy “Peluche” Peralta  was born on December 16, 1959 in Santiago Rodriguez, Dominican Republic . Beloved son, brother and Loving father to Joan, Jissett , Randy & Jeremy Peralta.  If tears could build a stairway & memories a lane. We would walk right up to heaven & bring you back again. No farewell words were spoken, no times to say “goodbye”. You were gone before we knew it, & only God knows why. Our heart still aches with sadness, our secret tears still flow. What it meant to Love you- no one can never know. But now we know you want us, to mourn for you no more; To remember all the happy times, life still has so much in store. Since you’ll never be forgotten, We pledge to you today~ A hollowed place within our hearts, is where you’ll always stay.

Suzie Maeo Mitchell-Clinton - July 28, 1955 - March 12, 2022

Departed: 03/12/2022 (Providence)
Obituary Preview: Ms. Suzie Maeo Mitchell-Clinton, 66, passed away on Saturday March 12, 2022, in Alexandria, VA.  She was born on July 28, 1955 in Providence, RI to the late Algie W. Mitchell and the late Algie Mae (Cannady) Mitchell.
She attended the Providence Public School system.  She worked in Rhode Island for many years in the medical field as a CNA.  Suzie relocated to Virginia in which she made her home for over thirty-six years.
Suzie retired after working for "Mercury Group" for twenty-one years as the receptionist.  She was affectionately called "Mercury Girl" because of her bubbly ways.  She was full of life and very energetic.  No one could answer the phone the way that she could with her upbeat bubbly manner.  She performed her duties with excellence.  Suzie will be missed and remembered by "Mercury Group" near and far.
Suzie was a member of her family singing group "Billy Mitchell and the Morning Stars", which was formed by their parents.  She joined the group as a very young girl.  Suzie travelled and sang as one of the lead singers for many, many years.
She was also a part of RT Production Fan Club (Rosetta Thompson founder).  They ushered for the top gospel programs featuring the Sensational Nightgales, Lee Williams and the Spiritual QC's, The Canton Spirituals, and Jay Caldwell and the Gospel Ambassadors just to name a few.  She held a position as treasurer for over twenty years.
Suzie was a member of the Abundant Life United Holy Church under the leadership of Bishop H.L. Perry for many years.  She was a faithful choir member as well as secretary for the Missionary Department.  She truly loved her pastor and his wife, and her church family dearly.
She was the life of the party.  She loved having lots of fun.  She also enjoyed music and had a passion for cooking and eating good flavorful food.  It had to be highly seasoned just right because she didn't believe in bland food.
Suzie is survived by her oldest sister, Sheila L. (Arney) Hepburn of Cranston, RI.
Suzie is preceded in death by her parents, Bishop Algie W. and Missionary Algie Mitchell, three brothers, William "Billy" Mitchell, Warren Dennis Mitchell, Calvin Kennedy Mitchell, and sister Cora Leen Smart.
She leaves to cherish her memories a host of nieces, nephews, cousins her aunt Shirley Ruth Parrish and many friends that will miss Suzie dearly.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an obituary?

An obituary is a written notice that announces the death of a person, typically including their name, age, date of birth and death, and a brief biography. It serves as a way to share the news of a loved one's passing with friends, family, and community.

Why are obituaries important?

Obituaries play a vital role in honoring the deceased, providing closure for those who are grieving, and serving as a historical record of the person's life. They also give family and friends an opportunity to pay tribute and share memories of the deceased.

Who writes an obituary?

Typically, a family member or close friend writes the obituary, often with the assistance of a funeral home or obituary writer. In some cases, the deceased may have written their own obituary in advance.

What information should be included in an obituary?

A typical obituary includes the person's name, age, date of birth and death, place of residence, occupation, education, military service, hobbies, achievements, and surviving family members. It may also include a photo and details about funeral services or memorial donations.

How long should an obituary be?

The length of an obituary can vary, but it's usually between 100-500 words. The goal is to provide a concise yet meaningful summary of the person's life.

Can I include humor in an obituary?

Absolutely! Obituaries don't have to be somber. Including humorous anecdotes or personality traits can help celebrate the person's life and make the obituary more engaging.

Should I include a photo with the obituary?

Yes, including a photo can make the obituary more personal and help readers connect with the deceased. Choose a recent photo that captures their personality or spirit.

How do I submit an obituary to a newspaper?

Contact the newspaper's obituary department directly to inquire about their submission process and deadlines. Some newspapers may accept online submissions, while others require email or phone submissions.

Can I write an obituary for someone who has been deceased for a long time?

What is the difference between an obituary and a death notice?
