Robert was born on September 28, 1941, in Santa Monica, CA, the son of John and Opal (Estes) Moon. He married Carol Freeberg on September 18, 1992, in Rockford, IL.
Robert is survived by his wife, Carol Moon; three step-sons; one step-daughter; and one brother, William Moon.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister-in-law, Sandra Moon.
A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Cremation Rites have been accorded.

Dennis "Wade" Bolin - October 22, 1969 - May 06, 2024

Obituary Preview: Dennis "Wade" Bolin, 54, passed away on Monday, May 6, 2024.
Wade was born on October 22, 1969, to Dennis Bolin and Deb (Dunn) Aurand. Wade has lived all over from Tennessee to California to Amboy, to finally settling down in Dixon, where he met his wife, Julie (Bushman) Bolin. Wade and Julie got married on June 13, 1992. It wasn’t until 1997 that they welcomed their first child, Trevor. Three years later they welcomed their daughter, Torrie.
Wade worked for Dixon Direct (formally known as Dixon Web) for 31 years. Wade retired and was enjoying working as a Lots Driver, driving a transportation bus for Kreider Services, and spending every chance he could with his children and grandchildren.
Wade was preceded in death by his wife, Julie Bolin, in 2008.
Wade is survived by his son, Trevor (Amanda, Rhylen, Makenly) Bolin; his daughter, Torrie Bolin; his father, Dennis Bolin (Donna Beard); his mother, Deb (Willy) Aurand; his sisters, Toni (Randy) Carroll and Christine (John) Gaskill; and 12 nieces and nephews.
Wade was a wonderful and loving husband, father, and friend. He never failed to make sure that others' wants and needs were put before his own. There were many people in his life that Wade cared for and loved that he called family, whether they were blood or not. Many people in his life knew him as “Uncle Wade” or “Big Papa Pump”. The lives of many were touched.
A Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Preston-Schilling Funeral Home, in Dixon. Cremation Rites will be accorded.
The family also invites you to take part in a Celebration of Wade's Life the following day, Sunday, May 12, 2024, from 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm, at the VFW Post #540, in Dixon.

Lola Mae Schneckloth - May 19, 1932 - May 05, 2024

Obituary Preview: Lola Mae (Hodson) Schneckloth passed away in her home surrounded by family on Sunday, May 5, 2024. Lola was just fourteen days away from her 92nd birthday.
Lola was born on May 19, 1932, in Artesian, SD, the daughter of Andy and Vera (Galitz) Hodson. She graduated from Dewitt High School, in IA, and married her childhood sweetheart and the love of her life, Charles Schneckloth, on October 8, 1950. In their married life they worked on ranches in Wyoming and Colorado for six years. They then returned to Iowa to farm in the Preston/Maquoketa area until they returned in 2016 when they moved into Maquoketa. After 68 beautiful years of marriage, Charles preceded Lola in death on December 4, 2018.
Lola worked at Sunshine Day Care, in IA, for many years, before retiring at the age of 80. Her other employers were Clinton Engines and Maquoketa Newspaper. She was also an active part of their farming operation and a leader in 4-H. In 2020, Lola moved to Dixon, IL, to be close to her family.
Lola is survived by three daughters, Jan (Mike) Holdaway, of New Zealand, Dawn (Keith) Brix, of Laramie, WY, Jodi (Luke) Johnson, of Dixon, IL; seven grandchildren, Jessica and Bradly Holdaway, Becky and Meghan Brix, Kate, Jake, and Emma Johnson; five great-grandsons, Charlie, Asher, Lincoln, Rayland, and Kye, with a sixth one on the way; sister-in-law, Jean Schneckloth, of Davenport, IA; and many nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at Dewitt Elmwood Cemetery, in Dewitt, IA.
Memorials may be directed to Carson & Son Funeral Home, in Maquoketa, IA, or Serenity Hospice & Home, 1658 S. IL Route 2, Oregon, IL 61061.

Obituary Preview: Barbara "Barb" Mae Fane, 79, of Dixon, passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at Katherine Shaw Bethea Hospital, in Dixon. She worked proudly as an Art Teacher for Ashton Franklin Center, for 45 years.
Barb was born on April 16, 1945, in Dixon, to Allan and Catherine (Buchner) Boyd, and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Her zest for life included gardening, interior decorating, relishing good food, and cherishing the company of friends. Barb's affinity for people was evident in her commitment to holding multiple positions as a server in the restaurant and bar industry. Following her brother's passing, she embraced her passion for art by immersing herself in the world of railroad and train photography and quickly became a "Rail Fan", a term coined by her brother, James Boyd. She also found joy in antiquing, and collecting treasures, and was an ardent Elvis enthusiast.
Barb is survived by her four children, Roxanne (Daniel) Mahan, of Dixon, Lynette Kirk, of Dixon, Cindy (Derek) Griffith, of Dixon, Marty (Steve Muzenski) Fane, of Kenosha, WI; one cherished son-in-law, Dan Kirk; seven grandchildren, Nick Mahan, Alexandria (Taylor) Payne, Haley (Omar Bendezu) Kirk, Conar Kirk, Logan (Kelly) Griffith, Jenna (Matt) Sporlein, Zackary Johnson; four great-grandchildren, Chandler, Laura, William, Rumi; and her beloved cat, Punkin.
Barb was preceded in death by her parents, Allan and Catherine Boyd; and one brother, James Boyd.
A Memorial Visitation will take place from 1:00 pm until the time of Memorial Service at 3:00 pm on Friday, May 17, 2024, at Preston-Schilling Funeral Home, in Dixon, with Pastor Timothy Mitchell, officiating. Cremation Rites have been accorded.

Harold Lee Jepson, Jr. - June 11, 1937 - April 28, 2024

Obituary Preview: Harold Lee Jepson, Jr., aged 86, of Dixon, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 28, 2024, at Heritage Square in Dixon, IL. He dedicated 37 years of his career as a Farm Real Estate Appraiser for Farm Credit Services, previously known as Federal Land Bank.
Harold was born on June 11, 1937, in Rockford, IL, to Harold and Nina (Allison) Jepson, Sr. He earned a B.S. in Agricultural Business from the University of Illinois in 1960. While at the university, he played the alto saxophone with the Marching Illini, participated in President Eisenhower's inaugural parade, and was selected to perform with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
He met his beloved wife, Karen Schmelzer, at a 4-H leadership camp, and they married on August 17, 1963, in Woodstock, IL. Harold also served in the United States National Guard. His interests included golf, reading, travel, and sports; but his greatest joy was spending time with his family.
A devoted fan of Chicago sports teams, particularly the Cubs, Bulls, and Bears, Harold also served as an officer for the White Oaks subdivision water board and chaired the St. Paul Lutheran Church council for two terms.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Karen Jepson; two sons, Greg (Jean) Jepson of Naperville, IL, and Brad (Jody) Jepson of Winfield, IL; four grandchildren, Alyssa (Grayson) Jenkins, Tommy Jepson, Michael Jepson, Jack Jepson; one brother, Jim (Jocelyn) Jepson of Scottsdale, AZ; and one brother-in-law, Dave Lamb of Barrington, IL.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Nina Jepson, Sr., and one sister, Margaret Lamb.
A private family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, with Cremation Rites already performed.
Memorial contributions can be made to Heritage Square in Dixon.

Marceile "Marcie" Louise Pritchard - September 17, 1949 - April 26, 2024

Obituary Preview: Marceile “Marcie” Pritchard, 74, of Dixon, passed away Friday, April 26, 2024, at her home.
Marcie was born on September 17, 1949, in Alexandria, VA, the daughter of Dale and Margaret (Swarts) Russman. She married Ronald "Ron" Pritchard on May 26, 1973, in Dixon.
Marcie enjoyed many of the simple pleasures of life; first and foremost was family. She took great joy in her children and grandchildren, doting on them as much as she could. Marcie enjoyed playing the piano for relaxation, with her favorite piece being Beethoven’s “Fur Elise.” She loved the 12 years spent teaching Country Western Dancing with her husband, and traveling around to several Midwest states to teach at various dance events. She was a lover of animals, the family always had dogs and cats in the house, including the family’s German Shepherd, Charlie, the current “ruler of the house.” Marcie spent many years as the Secretary of the First Presbyterian Church in Dixon, before opening a local consignment store. Upon retirement, Marcie enjoyed reading and watching TV. She will be sorely missed by family and friends alike.
Marcie is survived by her husband, Ron Pritchard; one son, Steve Pritchard; one daughter, Andrea Pritchard; two grandsons, Dylan, and Nathaniel; two granddaughters, Josephine and Evelyn; and one sister, Janice Atilano.
Marcie was preceded in death by her parents; one son, David Glenn; sister, Wanda (Ken) Bramer; brother, Brian Russman; and many nieces and nephews.
A Graveside will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Oakwood Cemetery, Dixon, at 11:00 am, with Rev. Dalmus Meeks, officiating.

Tony was born, October 2, 1950, in Herrin, IL, the son of Isaac and Earline (Kinney) Mercer, Sr. He served in the United States Air Force.
Tony is survived by his mother, Earline Mercer; daughters, Natasha Mercer, Candice (Dr. James) Latour; siblings, Joyce Bowden, Conda Taylor, Steve Mercer, Michael (Janice) Mercer; very special friend, Lisa Nelson; a host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and extended family and friends.
Tony was preceded in death lovingly by his father, Isaac Mercer, Sr.; and brother, Lonnie Mercer.
A Memorial Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until the time of the Memorial Service at 1:00 pm on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at the Second Baptist Church, in Dixon, with Rev. Gary Sorrells, officiating. Cremation Rites have been accorded.

Kevin was born on August 16, 1953, in Dixon, to Merle and Opal (Thompson) Bowers. Kevin was the second oldest of four boys; Rick (Deb A.) Bowers, Jerry "Lips" (Jill) Bowers, and Scott (Wendy) Bowers. On May 5, 1979, Kevin married Debra L. Sippel, in Dixon. Kevin and Debra raised two children; Heather L. (Troy) Johns and Matthew J. (Victoria) Bowers. Kevin was the proud grandfather to Carter, Chloe, and Kelvin.
Kevin enjoyed basking in the sun, bird watching, listening to classic rock, fishing, and watching the Chicago Bears. Kevin was a man of few words; he was wise, kind, loving, and a true example of a wonderful human.
Kevin is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, and siblings, all listed above.
Kevin was preceded in death by his parents, Merle and Opal Bowers; and one brother, Rick Bowers.
Kevin's family will hold a Private Ceremony. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the Summer of 2024. Cremation Rites have been accorded.

Obituary Preview: Jennifer June Yeager, 78, of Dixon, passed away at 10:55 am on Monday, April 22, 2024, at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center, in Rockford, holding the hands of her beloved sons, David and Andrew. Jennifer was born on November 5, 1945, in Muncie, IN, the daughter of Noah and Ruth (Napier) Chapman. She married Joseph Yeager, Naval Chief (Ret.), and together they spent 32+ years married. She was a business owner of multiple salons for 25 years. Jennifer was very social; she loved to golf, bowl, and fish with her husband. She was very proud of and loved to reminisce on the fashion show she put on in her hometown and enjoyed spending her time winning the slots at "Abby's." Jennifer was an Eagle's member and a "lover of the vine and leaf."
Upon a casual conversation with Jennifer, she was asked "Who are you looking forward to seeing again?" Her response was, "My husband, Joe." Knowing they are now reunited is the greatest joy during a time of profound loss.
Jennifer is survived by her two sons, David (Destiny) Yeager, Andrew (Ron Armour) Yeager; 6 grandchildren, Ailis Catherine (Diego) Cruz Yeager, Jacqueline Jennifer Yeager, Rhys Kennedy Yeager, Josephine Ann Yeager, Derek David Gomez, Amaya Graciella Gomez; and two beloved granddogs, Dagger James Yeager, Tucker Wrigley Yeager.
Jennifer was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Yeager; her parents, Noah and Ruth Chapman; and her siblings.
There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date. Cremation Rites have been accorded.

Obituary Preview: Susan Denise Wilcox, 58, of Dixon, died Sunday, April 21, 2024, at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center, Rockford.
Susan was born February 16, 1966, in Chicago, the daughter of Robert and Patricia (Grote) Wilcox.
Susan was a client at Kreider Services for many years, retiring in 2016.
Susan made numerous concert trips to enjoy her idols, Frankie Valli and Neil Diamond. Her love of music and the following of Phlash Phelps at Sirius Radio was an essential part of her daily activity. The weekends had radio shows with top 40 countdowns that opened additional venues of music for her. Her memory could often name songs and the artist with just a few notes being played. She also loved numerous game shows on TV and followed Chicago Cubs games as well.
One of Susan’s favorite things to do was crafts and scrap booking. Along with sister Deborah, holiday cards for every occasion of the year were made, and Susan would mail out to friends and family yearly.
Survivors include her parents, Patricia & Robert Gibler; brothers, James Wilcox, of Byron; Michael (Leslie) Wilcox, of Dixon; Steven (Ana) Wilcox, of Fredericksburg, VA; sister, Deborah Wilcox, of Dixon; Uncle Thomas (Carmela) Grote; cousins; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents and father.
A Memorial Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at Preston-Schilling Funeral Home, in Dixon. Cremation Rites have been accorded.

Joe was born on May 6, 1954, in Geneva, IL, the son of Melvin and Sylvia (Foster) Patzer. He served in the United States Navy. He enjoyed going to car races, political conversations, and was a part of the American Legion. Joe was an extremely dedicated caregiver to his mother, Sylvia, for over 5 years; he cherished his family.
Joe is survived by his three sisters, Sally Beveridge, Janet Schuster, and Alice (Dan) Miller.
Joseph was preceded in death by his father, Melvin Patzer; and his mother and step-father, Sylvia and Larry Burmeister.

Fred was born on January 23, 1927, in Boonville, MO, the son of Frederick and Catherine (Carpenter) Bantrup. He married the love of his life, Vivian Shaffer, on September 12, 1953, in Iowa. She preceded him in death on April 16, 2016. Fred was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, in Dixon, for over 60 years.  He served in the United States Army Air Corps. Fred was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed camping trips with his wife & kids.
Fred is survived by one son, Fred (Linda Perry) Bantrup, of Grand Detour; one daughter, Susan (Philip) Salstrom, of Oregon, IL; seven grandchildren, Christopher Bantrup, Aubrey (Jon) Setchell, Alex Bantrup, Christian (Lindsey) Grobe, Dr. Philip (Missy) Salstrom, James (Sarah) Salstrom; nine great-grandchildren, Jade, Audrina, Carson, Taylor, Nolan, Hudson, Blaire, Preston, Gretchen; and one brother, James Bantrup, of Sacramento, CA.
Fred was preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Vivian Bantrup; and his parents, Frederick and Catherine Bantrup.
A Visitation will be held from 10:00 am - Noon on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at Preston-Schilling Funeral Home, in Dixon. There will be a Graveside Service to follow at Palmyra Cemetery, in Dixon, with Rev. Little, officiating.

Everett Warren Kraft - August 01, 1931 - April 01, 2024

Obituary Preview: Everett Warren Kraft, 92, of Dixon, passed away on Monday, April 1, 2024, at Serenity Hospice & Home, in Oregon, IL. He was born on August 1, 1931, in Mapleton, IA, the son of Warren and Mabel (Erickson) Kraft. Everett graduated from Dixon High School in 1950. He married Elsie Grobe on March 14, 1954, in Dixon. She preceded him in death on November 25, 2019.  Everett was a long-time member of Dixon and Oregon Church of God. He served in the U.S. Army National Guard Infantry. Everett was a co-owner of Hank Henry's Men's Shop with his wife, Elsie, for 45 years. He was actively involved in Route 66 and Lincoln Highway Historic Societies, and served on the Dixon Chamber of Commerce. He was also a Cub Scout Leader, a member of the American Legion, Palmyra Cemetery Board member, Sugar Grove Church & School Board member, and enjoyed spending time with his Town & Country Coffee Buddies. After losing his leg to cancer as a young man, he served as an encourager to multiple other amputees. His memory will remain an encouragement to all who had the privilege to know him.
Everett is survived by his children, Kirk (Beth) Kraft, Gregory (Ginnie) Kraft, Connie (Karl) Froehlich, Julia (Jerome) Powers; thirteen grandchildren, Brian (Hannah) Froehlich, Jennifer (Steven) Putnam, Evan (Ali) Froehlich, Nicole (Steve) Fane, Brandon Hall, Bethany (John Hammer) Carlson, Danielle (Derek Kogut) Hall, Jason Kilborn, Emily (Matt) Harmon, Benjamin (Heather) Kraft, Amanda Kraft, Talia (John) Devine, Bill (Wendy Wickens) Powers; twenty-five great-grandchildren, Zachary, Lillian, Evelyn, Carter, MacKayla, EmmaGrace, Weston, Knox, Jakob, Riley, Ian, Caleb, Brock, Makenzie, Peyton, Ethan, Henry, Autumn, Jordan, Tariq, Lyriq, Faith, Brayden, Hunter, Sean; and several nieces and nephews.
Everett was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Elsie Kraft; his parents, Warren and Mabel Kraft; one grandchild, Zachary Froehlich; and one sister, Sheryl Russell.
A Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at Preston-Schilling Funeral Home, in Dixon. There will be a Visitation the following day from 9:00 am until the time of Funeral Service at 10:00 am on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at Preston-Schilling Funeral Home, in Dixon, with Pastor Michael Hoffman, of Oregon Church of God, officiating. Burial will be to follow at Palmyra Cemetery, in Dixon.

Joyce was born on September 26, 1936, in Sterling, the daughter of William and Sophia (Schultz) Hayen. She married LeRoy Kreger on June 19, 1954, in Rock Falls, IL. He preceded her in death on March 2, 2023. Joyce was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, in Franklin Grove, and then member at the First Presbyterian Church, in Dixon. She was a KSB Pink Lady and a part of the Franklin Grove Women's Club for 15 years. Joyce also owned the "Red Cab Company" with LeRoy for 19 years, retiring from that point.
Joyce is survived by her children, Jeffrey (Jacqueline) Kreger, Sheri Hill, both of Dixon; five grandchildren, Alison (Jeff) Masters, Callie Reinhold, Beth (Cory) Kent, Chris Kreger, Brian (Katie) Hill; and seven great-grandchildren, Avery, Laney, Camille, Landon, Nolan, Kyler, Chris.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one infant daughter, Lori Kreger; and one son-in-law, Donald Hill.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date with the Rev. Cheyenna Losey, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, Dixon, officiating. Cremation rites have been accorded. Entombment of cremains of both LeRoy and Joyce will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Dixon, at a later date.
A memorial has been established to Serenity Hospice and Home, Oregon, IL.

Betty was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church, in Dixon, all of her life. She enjoyed being a mom, grandma, great-grandma, and housewife. Betty loved family parties and spending her time with whom she adored most, her family. She loved to volunteer when and where she could; she loved to help others. She was also an avid "window gardener" and loved to watch over her hanging baskets, as well as her garden of peonies, roses, and hollyhocks. Betty never knew a stranger, and those she encountered always walked away with a smile on their face.

Hazel was born on February 23, 1927, in East Grove, IL, the daughter of Henry and Myrtle (Chandler) Reuter. She was a lifelong member of East Grove Union Church, in Amboy. Hazel spent most of her life farming and was instrumental in the preservation of the historic "Stevens Cemetery". She also proudly preserved prairies and wetlands, even traveling to Washington D.C. in 1988 to receive an award from President Ronald Reagan. Above all, Hazel was a dedicated and faithful Christian and a second mother to her nieces and nephews, whom she adored.
Hazel is survived by one brother-in-law, William Carey; one sister-in-law, Jane Reuter; her eight beloved nieces and nephews, Pam Carey, Deb Carey, David (Mary) Reuter, Micheal (Jackie) Reuter, Angela O'Malley, Lisa Reuter, Sandy (Michael) Forbes, Kenda (Steve) Bailey; and numerous great nieces and nephews, as well as great-great nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was born on August 29, 1920, in Limerick, IL (a wide spot in the road just South of Kasbeer, IL), the second child of Charles and Gladys (Shaw) Sargent. She was raised on the family farm and later graduated from Princeton High School in 1938. While working in a brassiere factory in Princeton, IL, she went on a blind double date. In the middle of the date, she switched partners and met Murray E. Newcomer, of Woosung, IL, whom she married on April 9, 1939. After their marriage, the couple settled in Dixon, IL. Dorothy and Murray had three sons and while the children were young, she was the homemaker. Later she worked for various companies including Lawton Brothers' Dairy, Harrison's Chevrolet Cadillac, First Federal Savings and Loan, and as a real estate broker. She also helped out at the family-owned Pinecrest Cheese and Gift Shop. She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church and a founding member of the Rock River Grange. Dorothy enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and collecting antiques; but her real passion was playing bridge, and was known to be able to recall hands that were played long ago, especially the ones she won. Being a people person, she was always there to help people in need.
Survivors include two sons, Larry E. Newcomer, James W. (Jean) Newcomer; three grandchildren, Laura (Barry) Sutton, Randall Newcomer, Raymond (Georgia) Newcomer; six great-grandchildren, Kristofer and Kyle Newcomer, Brock and Gillian Sutton, Zachary and Alexia Newcomer; a great-great-granddaughter, Aurora Newcomer; and daughters-in-law, Ruth Newcomer and Dianna Newcomer.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Murray E. Newcomer; a young son, William Allen; an older brother, John Sargent, of Florissant, MO; and a younger sister, Ruby Shore, of Aurora, IL.
A Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00 am on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at Grace United Methodist Church, in Dixon, with Rev. Rosa Lee, officiating. Burial will be to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, in Dixon.

Dan was born on January 13, 1964, in Chicago, the son of Donald "Don" and Louise (Kardaras) McCliment. He graduated in 1982 from Saint Ignatius College Prep in Chicago, where his love of Mathematics and Latin saw him at the top of his class, even taking over instruction of his Latin class on occasion.
Dan was incredibly adventurous and loved camping in the mountains, deserts, and woods on Boy Scout trips and family vacations. He loved to fish and found many opportunities throughout the Midwest; he could always be found with "the crew" at Montrose Harbor every April night-fishing for smelt under the twinkling lights of the Chicago skyline. As an adult, he spent years working as a long-haul truck driver, where he was able to explore the U.S. He was a fantastic mechanic and it seemed there wasn’t a thing he couldn’t fix, re-program, or re-build. Dan loved his family, was an amazing cook, and a natural caregiver. He could often be found listening to “News Radio 78” with a cat on his lap, and spending time with family on Cape Cod. Above all, Dan was the most wonderful brother and son. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Dan is survived by his loving parents, Don and Louise McCliment; four cherished sisters, Terri Adams-McCliment, Eileen Lamb, Margaret McCliment, Elizabeth McCliment; nieces and nephews, John Lamb, Nicole Cameron, Saer McCliment; and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear animals.
Dan was preceded in death by both his paternal and maternal grandparents.
A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date in Dan's honor. Cremation Rites have been accorded.

John served in the U.S. Army 68th Signal Corps from 1961-1964. He married Louise Gugerty on July 3, 1965, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Dixon, where he was a member. She preceded him in death on October 31, 2016. John was a custom home builder for over 50 years in the Sauk Valley Area. He was a loving husband, dad, grandpa and great-grandpa. John loved sharing his trade with others, winning at casinos, and was an avid sports fan, who loved watching his kids and grandkids.
John is survived by his children, Laurie Dewey of Dixon, John (Jane) Jacobs of Dixon, Barb (Ben) Rude of Sterling, and Joe (Frannie) Jacobs of Dixon; grandchildren Melissa (Eric) Rasmussen, Kathryn (Tommy) Wilkinson, Eric Dewey, Braden and Grant Jacobs, Ryan, Jacob, Annie, and Ellie Rude, and Maddy Jacobs; great-grandchildren; Luke, Emma, Millie, and Owen Rasmussen, Blake and Rhett Wilkinson, two sisters; Nora (Ron) Bechtold of Middleton, WI and Sue (Mike) Edmunds of Jackson, MO.
