Obituary Preview: Janet Louise(Guthrie) Price 84, of Westfield, IN, ascended into heaven on January 3, 2016. She was born January 18, 1931 in Odon, In to Walter and Lura (Ice) Guthrie. who preceded her in death.
Janet married Bill Price on July 3, 1953 and they were blessed with 54 years of marriage prior to Bill's death in 2008. She is survived by daughters Amy Kay (Allan) Bauernfiend of Huntingburg, Penny Wynn of Indianapolis, and Julie (Matthew) Lamb of Ludlow, VT: son Mark (Donna) Price of Noblesville; sister Shirley (Lee) Townsend of Sullivan; sisters-in-lsw Justine Andersen and Mary Price; her beloved eight grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; and a large family of nieces,nephews and in-laws. Also preceding her in death were her brother Marvin Guthrie and sisters Margaret Fisher and Mary Etta Porterfield.
Janet was a graduate of Indiana University, Vincennes University and Oakland City University, where she was named co-Alumnus of the year with her husband in 2003. She was a teacher for 29 years at public schools in Holland, Columbus and Indianapolis. During her career she taught at every level from first grade through high school. She retired for teacher at Guion Creek Elementary in Pike Township, Indianapolis in 1983. Janet quickly bored of "retirement" and embarked on a new career by graduating as Valedictorian of he nursing school class at the age of 60. She then worked nine years for a family physician in Jasper.
Her charitable and civic endeavors included Epsilon Sigma Alpha philanthropic sorority, St. Jude's Children Hospital and Easter Seals. She volunteered tirelessly for the Oakland City University Alumni Association and was an active member of the United Methodist Church throughout her adult life.
Janet's career choices, teaching and nursing, exemplify her commitment to serving others. Her true devotion was to her family and friends, she always placed the needs of others before her own,. She will be greatly missed by all who know and loved her. Late in life Janet was bestowed with an amazing gift that truly reveled the redemptive love of God. She departed this life secure in the knowledge that "My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever." (Psalm 73:26)

He graduated from High School in Elnora, IN, in 1952. Doyne served in the US Army overseas in Okinawa and received his teaching degree in 1963 from Indiana State College. Doyne moved his growing family to Wabash in 1965, where he started his teaching career. He taught in both the Wabash Jr and Sr. High Schools in the Industrial Arts. He assisted the students learning about photography, electronics, and later computers,. All of these were interest he enjoyed. He also taught adult classes in computers at Ivy Tech. For many years he was active in the local Lions Club and Mississinewa Flyers. Many weekends would find him building, flying or repairing model airplanes.
Doyne was a emember os the Wabash United Methodist Church. He is survived by two daughters, Donna Sargent of Richmond, VA and Dianna Sargent, of Hartford City, IN; two sons, Dan (Nancy) Sargent of Noblesville, IN and David (Melanie) Sargent of Ripley, IN; two grandchildren Sarah (Doug) Linthicum and Christopher Sargent; a sister, Katie (John) Kix-Miller of Fisher, IN and a brother Conde (Sue) Sargent of Taylors, SC He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma in 2007 and his parents,
