Fred was born May 20, 1954 in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, Canada to Murray and Annie Slauenwhite. He became a proud United States citizen in 1984. He leaves his wife, Carol, of 52 years who affectionately and devotedly cared for him; him son, Jason Slauenwhite and his wife Holly of Woodstock,CT; his daughter, Amanda Hart-McCaffrey and her husband Bill of North Brookfield; his sister, Sharon Rafuse and her husband, Buddy as well as his brother Richard Slauenwhite. He is predeceased by his brother Arnold Slauenwhite, his son-in-law John Hart and his parents. He will be missed by his grandchildren Mackenzie, Jenson, Caza and Ethan as well as his great granddaughter Johnna.
Fred worked at Quabaug Corporation (now known as Vibram) in North Brookfield,MA for 34 1/2 years where he was proud to retire as Head of Maintenance in 2018. Fred was hired as the first official EMT in North Brookfield and had a rewarding 20-year career in the North Brookfield Fire Department retiring as a Lieutenant. After retiring, Fred & Carol moved to Tennessee for a few years, then returned to New England.
Fred was an avid and serious golf enthusiast. He loved to watch and play the game. He was a successful hunter. Anyone could ask about his most memorable outing and he was sure to tell his bear story to anyone who would listen. Fred and Carol loved camping with their friends in their motorhome. They traveled to many locations and have loads of memories to share. They hosted many backyard parties and cookouts. Fred’s most important people in his life were his family, they will miss him dearly, and will be sure to celebrate him for years to come.

Dashia was born in Arroyo, Puerto Rico the proud daughter of the late Hiram Bones and Rocio Garcia. The family moved to Fitchburg MA where she was raised and enjoyed making life long friends.
Dashia thrived as an EMT for over 20 years, with her compassion for others and her witty sense of humor it was difficult to not enjoy every minute working with her. She also enjoyed overseeing and watching her Boston Roller Derby team.
She leaves her wife Hailey Bones; her son Adam Saldana Jr “ AJ”; her sister Roxiam “Mily” Bones; “The best mother in law” Nicole Reilly; her sister in laws Alise Hunter and Azalynn Kopytko “stud muffin”; nieces Barbara “Barbie” and Kaelynne “Kae”; nephews Jesus “Gordo”, Hector “Manny” and Kevin “KJ” and 1 great nephew Jesiah.
Dashia also enjoyed spending time with her dogs Melo and Adis. Dashia’s family would like to thank everyone for all the calls,texts and video chats throughout her entire journey.

Obituary Preview: SPENCER- Judith (Ireland) Jepson, of Spencer, passed away on Saturday, May 11,2024 surrounded by her loving family after battling several health issues. She was one month shy of her 89th birthday.
Judy leaves her husband Walter (Jep) Jepson who lovingly and devotedly cared for her; children Julie Shuster (Peter), Tom Jepson (Trish) and David Jepson (Lynne); her grandchildren Donne Gullion(Mike), Nick Shuster(Evan), Sara Shuster Persak(Adam) , Matthew Jepson, Katie Brunelle (Nick), Samantha Jepson (Nick) and Christopher Jepson (Ashley); great grandchildren James, Violet, Rose, Theodore, Caleb, Colten and Natalie; her sister Joyce Hokans along with many nieces and nephews. Judy is pre-deceased by her parents Donald and Genevieve Ireland, her sister Janet Delorey and grandchildren PJ and Judith Irene Shuster.
Even after moving to Spencer, Judy was a Shrewsbury girl at heart. She graduated from Beal High School in June 1953, and did not have class night due to the tornado of 1953! Judy went on to attend the University of Massachusetts, where she met and fell in love with her husband Walter. They married and would have celebrated 68 years on May 30th.
Since the time she was three years old, Judy had an extraordinary musical talent. She was known as a child prodigy on the piano. In addition to piano, she also was an accomplished organist. Judy had the skill to hear a song, and play it without music. For many years she was a church organist and choir director for Trinity Church in Shrewsbury and then St. Michael's on the Heights in Worcester. Besides sacred music, her choirs would perform a Pop's Concert she would create and write. Judy also directed the Sweet Adelines, Post Road Chapter. The group sang at many events , competitions and locations.
One of Judy's favorite hobbies was gardening. Her homes were always full of beautiful flowers and plants and her yard a showplace. She was a great hostess, holding parties and family gatherings. We all looked forward to the delicious food and fun at every event.
Golf was her favorite sport, especially enjoying time playing with Jep and in club golf leagues. They were members of the Worcester Country Club for many years. Judy and Jep travelled to many countries to see the Ryder Cup including Scotland and Spain.
There will be no calling hours or formal service. A gathering of her family will be held at a later date.

Born on August 12, 1959 in Ware, MA, she was the daughter of Paul Korzec and the late Nancy Louise Korzec.
She is survived by her husband of 12 years Mark Dugay; son Christopher Paul Harry and his wife Crystal of Brimfield; daughter Andrea Harry and her partner David Moreno of Tewksbury; her grandchild Caydence Mae Harry; stepdaughter Shanelle Dugay (Tyler) and stepson Austin Dugay; her sister Carol Luyrink and husband John of Paxton and their children Jack, Matthew and Ben; her sister Jeanne Hodges and her husband Marion of Richmond, VA. She was predeceased by her sister Joan Veinot.
Susan was a lifelong resident of West Brookfield, served as the Tax Collector and Police Officer in town before moving on to a career in office management, spending the last few years at AAIR Systems in Oxford as their office manager.
Susan devoted her life to being an amazing mother and wife. Sue’s memory will live on forever in all of us, she is gone but never forgotten.

She leaves her son Richard Audette & his wife Charlene of Oxford; 3 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter; a brother Peter Barhanys & his wife Rhonda; many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband David Woodland in 2020 and a sister Debbie Barhanys.
Patti worked at Karl Storz over 20 years as a medical equipment assembler. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Patti also enjoyed traveling and trips to the casino. She loved reading books and watching movies based on books.

He leaves his wife Sarah Mattox of Barre; 3 children Siera, Brenton and Thuroh; his parents, Gregg and Barbara Mattox of Indiana; 2 brothers, Jacob (Indiana) and Clint (Oregon); a sister Staci Karasch of Berlin, Germany; many brother and sister in laws; nieces; nephews and a large extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins. He will also be missed by his dog, Oakley, who loved him more than can be explained, even though Andy called him "debatable" but loved him just the same even when he denied it.
Andy had a love for farming, fishing, making maple syrup in his homemade evaporator, was a member of the 15th Massachusetts volunteer infantry and any activity outdoors, including gardening and building his "shanties" as he liked to called them.
Andy was a proud employee of Howe Lumber where he enjoyed over 7 1/2 years with the company. Starting as a driver, moved into position of Receiver and then Purchaser for the past year.
Andy was loved by so many people and he had so much love for everyone. His laugh, smile and kind personality will be extremely missed. Elizabeth's life was enriched by the enduring love and companionship of John Lawrence, her beloved partner of 44 years. Together, they shared a bond built on mutual respect, unwavering support, and profound love that illuminated their path through life's adventures.
As a mother, Elizabeth poured her heart into nurturing and guiding her son and daughters, Jonathan Medina and his wife Carolyn Medina of Paxton MA, Jennifer Gonyea and her husband Pete Gonyea of Worcester MA, and Rebecca Nadeau of Putnam CT. Theirs was a bond forged in love and strengthened by Elizabeth's unwavering devotion and support.
Elizabeth's love extended beyond her immediate family to include her extended family of eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild, each a source of immeasurable joy and pride. Her legacy of love will continue to resonate through the generations, a testament to the depth of her compassion and the richness of her spirit.
A dedicated professional, Elizabeth found fulfillment in her career at Flexcon, where she dedicated herself to her work with passion and diligence. Elizabeth's appreciation for beauty was reflected in her love for silver turquoise jewelry, which adorned her with elegance and grace. Her culinary talents brought joy to those around her, as she crafted homemade salsa with love and care, a taste of her heritage and her love for her family.
A lover of feline companions, Elizabeth found comfort and solace in the presence of her beloved cats, whose affection brought warmth to her home. Her love for these furry friends was a reflection of her compassionate spirit, nurturing and caring for those around her.

He leaves his son Shad D. Wells and his wife April ; 2 grandsons Colton and Travis; a brother Bradley & his wife Olivia, of Dover, DE.; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Brian.

Pearl leaves two sons Harold Crevier Jr and Eugene Crevier; grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Harold Crevier Sr in 1974; three daughters Elaine, Maria and Joanne; a brother Francis; three sisters Cecelia,Bella and Doris.
Pearl worked for the William E. Wright Company in the sample department until she retired in 1986. She was a member of St. Josephs Church in North Brookfield and sang in the choir. She also sang with the West Brookfield senior chorus group called the Silver Tones and the Quaboag Chorus in Brookfield.

Kenneth was born on June 9,1938 in Worcester the son of the late Francis and Nellie ( Varaska ) Vassar. He leaves his son Jeffrey & his wife Michelle (Giroux) Vassar; a granddaughter Taylor M. Vassar; a great granddaughter Mia N. Vassar all of Charlton; a brother Richard Vassar; 2 sisters Linda Angers and Patricia Vassar all of Millbury. He was predeceased by his wife Dorothy (Adubato) Vassar and a brother Leonard Vassar.
He attended Millbury High School and then joined the US Airforce in 1956-1960. He worked for Pratt Whiney for several years and New England Power (National Grid) for many years until he retired in 1998.
Ken enjoyed woodworking, vacations with his wife and relaxing by the pool with family and friends.
A graveside service with full military honors will be held on Friday, April 19,2024 at 11:30AM in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. A calling hour will be held from 9:45-10:45AM in Pillsbury Funeral Home 44 Gilbert St. North Brookfield.

Paul was born on June 18, 1952, in Lynn, Massachusetts. He was the son of the late Robert L. St.Cyr and Marie Clara (Thibeau) St.Cyr.
Paul graduated from Lynn English High School in 1970. After graduation he attended Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts receiving his Bachelors of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering. After graduation he worked as a Senior Design Engineer at Dynapert in Beverly, Massachusetts for 16 years. He moved on to work at Gloucester Engineering in Gloucester, Massachusetts for 7 years. Next, he worked as a Senior Electrical Engineer/Project Manager for PerkinElmer for 21 years until his retirement in December, 2019. He was an inventor at heart. He had many projects and accomplishments including 8 registered patents.
Paul is known for having the kindest heart. He was always looking for ways to help and serve others. He loved being a Dad and was the proudest Grandfather (“Pepe”). Paul loved to tinker and experiment with gadgets. He also loved to walk, read, cook, play cribbage and spend quality time with family and friends.
With his former spouse, predeceased Lynne Buchanan, they had 1 child who survived them: Michelle (St.Cyr) and husband Christopher McGrath of Warren, MA. His beautiful legacy includes 5 grandchildren: Rachel, Erin, Liam, Emma and Benjamin. He is survived by 6 siblings: James and wife Barbara St.Cyr, Donald and wife Cindy St.Cyr, Daniel and wife Jean St.Cyr, Roberta and husband Gary Stevens, Cynthia and husband Tom Lamontagne and Leo and wife Leigh St.Cyr and by many nieces & nephews who adored him. Paul was predeceased by a sister Rosanna and surviving husband Kevin Wright.
A Celebration of Paul and his life will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 108 New Braintree Rd, North Brookfield, MA, on Saturday, April 20,2024 with visitation from 9:45 to 10:45AM. The service for Paul will follow at 11:00AM. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery in Warren.

She leaves behind her husband of 21 years Daniel Lynch of Orange, MA; her father John Rose and his wife Anne (Navin) Rose of Boylston, MA; brothers Scott Rose and his wife Linda of Ada, OK; Gregg Rose and his wife Lori of Millbury, MA; many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Kim is preceded in death by her mother Penelope (Harlow) Cross and her husband Donald Cross of Petersham, MA and her much loved four legged family members, dogs Abbey & Rugby.
She was employed by Hemshaw’s Ace Hardware, Orange, MA for the past five years. Kim loved golfing, days at the beach, cooking and hosting gatherings with family and friends.

Pasty was born on March 30,1939 in Monette AR, alongside her twin sister Peggy. She lived in several areas throughout the country as a child before finally settling in Worcester, MA there she met and married the love of her life Earl R. Brown, who has since predeceased her.
Patsy was an extremely accomplished first-rate seamstress. She most notably she worked at the Abby in Spencer, MA alongside her sister Peggy, who has also predeceased her. She enjoyed spending her time reading her books and being with her grandchildren.
She leaves behind her 3 Sons and their wives: Charlie and Jen from Topsfield MA, Karl and Debbie from Oxford MA, and Earl and Diane from Brookfield MA, as well as 10 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren. She will be Deeply missed by all the people whose lives she has touched and will live forever in our Hearts. A private graveside service for Patsy will be held on Friday April 19,2024 in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. Guests are welcome to meet at Karl and Debbie’s house after in Oxford, MA starting at 2:00 PM

Arthur was a graduate of the University of Massachusetts and received a Doctorate in Law from Western New England University where he was first in his class. He was the recipient of many awards. Arthur was associated with several Springfield law firms starting with Sherman Fein Esq and lastly with Frank Fitzgerald Esq. As a sole practitioner he was a longtime union arbitrator & lawyer for the Springfield American Bosch Company. He authored "Cases on The Law of Shoplifting" which is still used as a course textbook. Arthur owned several businesses including the After Five Lounge,El Pariso and Madden Estates Mobile Home Park.
He was born in Winthrop,MA. the son of Arthur and Marion Maskell and graduated from Winthrop High School where he was a member of the winning Blue Devils Football Team.
Married to Fern Maskell and father to Daniel Maskell and Arthur Maskell III(deceased). He also leaves 2 grandchildren; 2 well loved sisters and many nieces & nephews.
The funeral for Arthur will be held on Saturday, April 6,2024 with a Mass at 10:00AM in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Parish 10 Milk St West Brookfield. All are asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

Obituary Preview: HOLDEN- Roland "Jack" Phaneuf, 81, of Holden, MA, formerly of Gilbertville and Barre, MA passed away on March 24, 2024, in Worcester, MA. He was born on October 23, 1942, in Ware, MA.
Jack is survived by his loving wife of nearly 61 years, Barbara (Myers), and his daughters Marie Phaneuf of Holden, Marlene (and her husband Robert Simeone) of Barre, and Melissa Carpenter of Florida. He is also survived by his 3 grandchildren: Rebekah (and her husband Joe Buckley) of Northampton, Andrew (and his wife Kaleighna) of Jacksonville, FL, and Therese of Barre. Additionally, he is survived by his 2 great-grandchildren, Emelia and Elliott.
Roland was the only son of Conrad and Albertha Phaneuf of Gilbertville, MA where he was raised. He graduated Hardwick High School in 1960 and briefly attended Providence College. Roland was a machinist for Ware Knitters for a number of years, and worked for the Research Division of Albany International in Dedham then in Mansfield, MA for 33 years, retiring in 2007. He was the supervisor for the division that created the felt (FRSI) which is the insulation under the heat resistant tiles on the Space Shuttles for NASA. He holds a group patent for that material and his name is on a plaque in the Aerospace Museum in Washington, DC. Jack was a former selectman for the Town of Hardwick for several years.
Vacations from work were spent with close family at Salisbury Beach. Early morning walks to collect sea glass and sand dollar hunts, fun and relaxation with annual renovation projects including patching the roof during Hurricane Bob.
Upon retirement, Roland could be found growing potatoes in his garden and lovingly mowing the orchard in Walden, VT. He was an avid tool collector, and would lend them out freely. His family was extremely important to him, including his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved spending time with everyone and he especially enjoyed the holidays.

She leaves her father Robert Downie, extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her brother Dana and mother Diane.
Heather had a very personal and quiet faith that was also a very resilient faith. Losing her mother and brother shortly before her own cancer diagnosis might be more than most could withstand. Yet Heather persevered. She loved her Dad who at the time of her passing, was beside her singing the song, “First day in Heaven”.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 20,2024 at 11:00AM in the First Congregational Church of North Brookfield 144 North Main St. North Brookfield. Burial will follow in South Cemetery in Oakham.

Obituary Preview: NORTH BROOKFIELD- Lawence August Walter, 72, passed away in UMASS Memorial Medical Center University Campus on March 19,2024 from complications from Diabetes.
Larry was born March 8,1952 in Orange, NJ. He lived in New Jersey until the family moved to Springfield, MA in 1956. He attended Alfred E. Glickman Elementary School, Duggan Middle School and Cathedral High School in Springfield. He then attended Holy Cross College in Worcester, MA, attaining a B.A. degree in English, Larry was always attracted to high impact activities. In college he took up rugby and played into his mid thirties. He continued his education, earning an M.S. degree in Business Administration from UMASS Amherst.
After a brief career in hospital administration, he entered Pope St. John XXIII Seminary in Weston, MA. During that time, he met the seminary’s choir director, Mary Campbell, who later became his wife. They were married on May 24,1987. Shortly after moving to Hyde Park, MA, Mary and Larry acquired the first of their many dogs, Thor; a Rottweiler which they trained into a national champion, which were in 2 categories of the Schutzhund competition. They proceeded to have a series of Rottweilers and Belgian shepherds through the remainder of Larry’s life. Professionally, Larry spent the balance of his career in accounting, primarily at Tufts University in the Research Department. He retired at age 70 in 2022.
Larry had a lifelong devotion to the Catholic Church, starting as an altar boy in 1st grade. He continued participating in the church throughout his life. He was very active in the North Brookfield parish at St. Joseph’s in many aspects of liturgy, parish activities, ministries, the Food Pantry, and various projects. He was also active in the North Brookfield Rescue Squad.
He is survived by his wife Mary Frances (Campbell) Walter and siblings Christopher, Michael, Joanne, Peter and Anita. He is predeceased by his parents August and Genevieve (Matlosz).
Larry will be missed by his family, friends, the church and local communities for his warmth, great sense of humor, and unfailing instinct for service.
The funeral for Larry with be held on Thursday, April 4,2024 with a Mass at 11:00AM in St. Josephs Church 296 N.Main St. North Brookfield. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery.

He received his bachelors degree in Psychology from Worcester State College and his Masters degree from Anna Maria College. John began his career at the Eagle Hill School in Hardwick, MA before moving to New Jersey in 1984. John worked as a Social Service Coordinator at Meridian Health New Jersey retiring in 2018. John was truly committed to his patients and a dedicated advocate of HIV and its cause. John was the head of the housing committee for HIV patients and volunteered for many local supporting organizations.
John had a passion for theater and enjoyed attending Broadway plays and performing in various plays. He enjoyed traveling and taking cruises with Roberto. He had a profound love for his family and was an extremely thoughtful and caring person with a huge heart and a beautiful spirit. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him.
